Who Are The Mukhles (Sincere) – The Guarded Ones?
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
A reminder always for myself that alhamdulillah with the new year staring and Muharram opening, Shahrul Safar opening. InshaAllah in the next week and half or so the holy month of Rabi’ul Awwal opening and the month of Mawlid un Nabi ﷺ (celebration of the birthday of Prophet ﷺ). All the lights and blessings that Allah (AJ) bestowing upon the reality of Prophet ﷺ and that Prophet ﷺ bestowing upon all of creation from those lights and from those blessings. Especially for the ‘ashiqeen, the lovers of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ they gather within that light, they move within that light. They’re lost in the love of Prophet ﷺ, love of all the Prophets ‘alayhis salaatus salaam, love of the Divinely Presence.
Mukhles (Sincere) are Mahfuz (Guarded)
Mawlana Shaykh (Q) reminding always for myself the life that we’re trying to lead. The understanding of that life as a reminder of what we are moving towards and for those who are moving towards it. Then it reminds them of their goal. Those that wish to aspire to move towards that or at least the understanding of these different understandings and these different realities. That Mawlana Shaykh (Q) reminding is who is mukhles? What mukhles in English is righteous servant? No, that’s saliheen (righteous). What is the English for mukhles? Mu’min means believing, has belief. Muslim means nearly submitted.
Mukhles, mukhles e deen means that their level of sincerity is so strong that shaitan (satan) has no permission to go after them. That, he does there is nobody without a satanic influence. Well, Allah (AJ) make them to be mahfuz – to be guarded. Prophet ‘alayhis salaatus salaam and all the Prophets (as) are ma’soom (innocent) – they are infallible. Pious people who become mukhles are mahfuz. That Allah (AJ) gives them a special guard and a detail that constantly protecting them and reminding them, ‘Choose the better, choose the better, choose the better.’ So means the oceans of protection around them.
Difference Between a Mukhles and a Muslim
But reminder for the people who are struggling and moving in their darajahs (stations) to Allah (AJ). That to be a Muslim means that I’m accepting that Allah (AJ) is my Creator. That I’m asking to submit myself to Allah’s (AJ) Will and to the will that Allah (AJ) emanating His holy books, the commander of all His Prophets (as), and the last and final messenger – Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. It means that makes us to be Muslim because we are working our life and submitting and submitting and submitting.
Mukhles: But the difference of a mukhles and a mu’min (believer) is an ocean of difference. Because when you look at the lives of a mukhles, mukhles means they reach sincerity not by just their worshipness but they live for Allah (AJ). They live to serve Allah (AJ). They live to serve Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Muslim: So means that we are doing things and thinking that we are mukhles. You’ve asked somebody, ‘Why do you think you’re mukhles?’ ‘Oh because I pray,’ but that was a fard (obligatory). You were obligated to pray. That doesn’t distinguish you as mukhles. That merely you submitted because this is Allah’s (AJ) law. Says, ‘I gave zakat (charity), big zakat,’ but this is Allah’s (AJ) law. You have to give zakah. ‘I make my salah (daily prayer),’ this is Allah’s (AJ) law. You have to make your salah. It means you are still and we are still trying to be Muslim. ‘We make Hajj (pilgrimage),’ all of those categories under Muslim.
Who is a Mu’min?
Mu’min means that now they do it at a darajah of faith. They do their ‘amal (action) with the lights of faith entering within their heart and with every action they’re doing is out of the fear to disappoint Allah (AJ). It means that when they become mu’min, they must be at least seeing their shahadah (testimony of faith). A Muslim make shahadah means ‘I’ve bear witnessed that there is no God but Allah (AJ) and that Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is the messenger of Allah (AJ).’ But yet he doesn’t see what he is saying, he is Muslim he merely accepting.
Shahadah of a Mu’min is Real, Not Imitated
Mu’min means now the light of iman (faith) must be entering into his heart. So then all those pillars must have a light within them. So the Prophet ﷺ described that your shahadah must be real. When you say in attahiyat (sitting on knees during prayer), “Assalamu ‘alayka ayyuhan Nabi” means Prophet ﷺ is facing you.
“All the best compliments and the prayers/praising and the pure/good things are for Allah. Peace and Blessings be upon you, O’ Prophet ﷺ! Peace be on us and on the righteous servants of Allah. I testify that there is no deity but Allah (AJ), and I testify that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the servant and Messenger of Allah (AJ).”
Facing because you say, ‘Assalamu ‘alayk,’ not to the head, but to the present tense and the face of Prophet ﷺ. You give “Ashhadu an la ilaha illallahu wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulallah ﷺ” and then you close your salah. Before you close your salah you are speaking to someone and a mu’min must at least have the feeling of the presence of Prophet ﷺ in front of him.
Mu’min Has a Very High Level of God Consciousness
Must through his heart be witnessing. Otherwise you have given false testimony in a court of law, and they call you a liar. Because you can’t say, ‘I saw this,’ and Allah (AJ) said, ‘Did you see it?’ Say, ‘No I never saw it. All along I’ve just been giving false testimony.’ Muslim okay, because they’re trying to submit. Mu’min must have nurul iman (light of faith) in his heart or her heart. Whatever they’re doing with the light of faith, Allah (AJ) begin to show them that, ‘Bear witness to what you’re testifying to.’ They begin to understand and they pray as if they see Allah (AJ). They feel the presence of Allah (AJ), but they know that you cannot see but they know that Allah (AJ) is seeing them.
Qala ﷺ: “An Ta’bud Allaha, Ka annaka tarahu, fa in lam takun tarahu fa innahu yarak.” [Sahih Bukhari 50]
The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) replied, “It is to worship/serve Allah (AJ) as though you behold/see Him; and if you don’t behold/see Him, (know that) He surely Sees you.” [Source: Authentic by Bukhari 50]
They have a very high level of taqwa, of consciousness of Allah (AJ), and a fear. Fear of angering Allah (AJ) and fear of disappointing Allah (AJ).
Difference Between a Mukhles and a Mu’min
But then again, mukhles means they did all of that. They did all their ‘amal and they don’t put any importance on that ‘amal and they attained a life of service to Allah (AJ). Why Allah (AJ) tells shaitan that, ‘You can’t go after My mukhles. Go after everyone but not My mukhles because they are in My Divinely service. They’re not only struggling to rise to Me, but I have granted them a sincerity and they are serving Me,’ and these are the servants of Allah (AJ).
When they are mukhles, they have to understand the station of sincerity and mukhles is that you have entered in to the service. You have completed your ‘ahd (covenant), is ‘ahd in Arabic – your contract and covenant in Surat Al Tawbah. I think it is 111, verse 111. Allah (AJ) says, ‘You have made a good bargain. We took from you your dunya (material world) and we gave in your akhirah (hereafter). We gave you your heavenly station. With that heavenly station, you have…’ if you listen, if you read the Arabic words that, ‘You have completed your bay’ah (pledge of allegiance).’ Which bay’ah? “Yubayi’oonaka yubayi’on Allah.”
9:111 – “Inna Allaha Ashtara Minal Mu’umineena ‘Anfusahum Wa ‘Amwalahum Bi anna Lahum AlJannata, …Wa’dan ‘Alayhi Haqqan fit Tawrati wal Injeeli wal Qur’ani, Wa Man Awfa Bi ‘ahdihi Mina Allahi, Fastabshiro Bi bay’ikum Al Ladhi Baaya’tum Bihi, Wa Dhalika Huwal Fawzul ‘azeem.” (Surat At-Tawbah)
“Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise…[It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur’an. And who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in your Bayat which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great achievement. (The Repentance, 9:111)
48:10 – “Innal ladheena yubayi’oonaka innama yubayi’on Allaha yadullahi fawqa aydeehim, …” (Surat Al-Fath)
“Indeed, those who give Bayah (pledge allegiance) to you, [O Muhammad] – they are actually giving Bayah (pledge allegiance) to Allah. The hand of Allah is over their hands…” (The Victory, 48:10)
Bay’ah of Muslim, Mu’min and a Mukhles
That as a Muslim you took a bay’ah with Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and every salah you are taking a bay’ah with Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. You say, “‘Assalamu ‘alayka ayyuhan Nabi wa Ashhadu an la ilaha illallahu wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulallah ﷺ.” That shahadah is to correct whatever we’re doing wrong throughout the day. Five times a day to be cleaned from that wrong because we come short from the covenant that we gave to Prophet ﷺ. In every salah Allah (AJ) says, ‘Renew your covenant with Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, that he ‘alayhis salaatus salaam is your imam. That with the presence of Prophet ﷺ you’ll enter into the Divinely Presence. So as a Muslim we’re constantly doing that; as mu’min we begin to witness that, the light of faith to enter within the heart and a extreme consciousness of that reality.
Mukhles, their heart must be open, and Allah (AJ) completes their faith. When they testify, they see what they testify to. Their hearts are open, and their hearts are opening. Then reminder then Allah (AJ) says, ‘Now you are in My Divinely service. Your self is not yours anymore. Your life is not yours anymore. Your family is not yours anymore. Your property is not yours anymore. It is Mine.’ This is Islam. Islam meant ‘Submit!’ Submit to Allah (AJ). We are in imitation Islam, where we do two good actions and we do ten crazy things and saying, ‘We can now do whatever we want because we did good things.’ That wasn’t submission. That was you did couple good things, but you’re doing more crazy actions. That’s no mukhles.
Mukhleseen Are the Ones Whose Lives Are for Allah (AJ)
So when we look at the life of mukhles scholars, they live their life for Allah (AJ). That they gave up everything. Allah (AJ) takes care of them. Mukhles are not poor. Allah (AJ) Huwal Ghani ana faqir billahi ta’la wa Allah Huwal Ghani (Allah (AJ) is the Most Generous, I am poor and in need of Allah (AJ), the Exalted). That if Allah (AJ) grants mukhles doesn’t mean you’re going to be poor.
But you’re faqir (poor) in the sense that you have nothing in comparison to Allah (AJ). So many people say, ‘Why you have faqir like with a cup and a bowl in your hand? Why Allah (AJ) is faqir, Allah (AJ) is poor?’ Faqir in Allah’s (AJ) way means Allah (AJ) recognize your sincerity that, ‘You absolutely don’t have anything but Me. Min Huwal Ghani – I am the wealthy, I am the rich. I will feed you, clothe you, take care of you so much so that you merely say ‘Kun,’ and by the noon it will appear.’ Because these are Rabbaniyoon (Lordly Souls).
Path of Becoming a Mukhles
How to Achieve Sincerity?
Why are they mukhles? Because not because they salah, they make their prayer and they give their zakah. But that Allah (AJ) accepted everything they did through love. So when Allah (AJ) wants to humiliate you as a mukhles, you have to take your humiliation. When Allah (AJ) says, ‘You work for Me, if I’m going to abase you, you take your abasing.’ Everything about the life of mukhles servants and sincere servants is they serve Allah (AJ). They try their best to be of service constantly for Allah (AJ). Through who? Through the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Constantly trying to think that how to live a life raising the banner for Prophet ﷺ. Not that Prophet ﷺ needs it, but that we need it.
Mukhleseen are Always Conscious of Every Step They Take
So they remind us because we keep getting waswas (whispering) by shaitan. That we did three good things now we can treat ourselves to every other type of want and desire and that’s shaitan making us to fall. That don’t think the step that you take there are no consequences. They say the higher you go, the faster you can fall. Because you’re so high up, in Divinely grace, in Divine rahmah (mercy) and shaitan not giving up and saying, ‘You step. Make one action to make Allah (AJ) angry with you and close the light of the mukhlesoon.’ Not to be mukhles and not to be mu’min and start back again on just becoming Muslim.
Mukhleseen Prefer The Love of Prophet ﷺ Over Everything in Their Lives
So they begin to teach us that mukhles, they live a life on how to submit. They live a life where they didn’t even take vacations all their life since they took the path. They don’t live a life on how they’re going to entertain themselves. Because every time they tried to go and entertain themselves, they are called into service and reminded that, ‘Who are you serving now?’ So means their lives are very different. Their lives are constantly struggling. They struggle for the love of Prophet ﷺ before they struggle for their family. Many times their family are set aside. They’re neglected by them, that they can’t play with them, spend time with them, entertain them, take them here, take them there. Because they made a deal with Allah (AJ) and Prophet ﷺ. That, ‘You serve us now. They can be a fitna (confusion) for you.’ If you’re concerned only about serving them versus serving Prophet ﷺ that’s not the way of mukhleseen.
It means they begin to show their whole life. Just an example, that which one of the companions, if we understand their life, they serve themselves? Three days or two battles per day, constantly struggling, constantly struggling. In which struggle did they struggle and say, ‘That’s it, you know, thank you very much Prophet ﷺ. Thank you, alhamdulillah. Very good, it was a good six months I spent with you, did everything, that was very nice. Thank you very much. Now I think I’m ready to go to Morocco and maybe a casino somewhere in Egypt and take off.’ They lived a life that was their covenant.
Mukhleseen Ask Always to Be in Service to Their Lord
They asked, ‘Ya Rabbi, let me complete my ‘ahd, my covenant with You, and don’t let me die until I have completed it. Don’t let my hand go until I have completed it and everything about me.’ [Satan] tried to even bite that hand. Because the hand is there. We took that bay’ah with Prophet ﷺ and every moment we’re trying to bite it and say, ‘Let me just go. I did a couple of good things, let me just now go out and ruin it.’
The mukhles they’re teaching us they live a life constantly asking, ‘Ya Rabbi from what You give me, how can I serve? From what talent You gave me how can I serve? Whatever bounty You’re going to bestow upon me, Ya Rabbi, let it be for Your service. Not for myself, not for my family but for the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’ So they’re constantly reminding that you begin to move towards mukhles, set the goal of the mukhles. Say that, ‘Ya Rabbi how to live a life in service and to serve?’
Concept of Wudu (Ablutuon) and Zakat Near a Mukhles
That merely being Muslim is not what I came for. It is not what tariqah (spiritual path) is here for – to go over five times how to do your wudu. What? You got to get the wudu down, that’s kindergarten. Give zakat, ‘Oh I gave 2.5% zakat, I have now become mukhles.’ Which Sahabi (companion of Prophet ﷺ) gave 2.5% to become mukhles? 2.5% they would have slapped you. They gave their life every day. Forget about the physical property. There was no life insurance for families. Every day they went into battle with Prophet ﷺ to give their life. The greatest gift they could have given was not to come back. That Prophet ﷺ said, ‘Fight as if you’re not wanting to come back,’ fight in Allah’s (AJ) way with the hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’
Wudu: So means that level of belief, the level of the understanding of their fiqh (Islamic Jurispridence) is not what people are talking about today. They talk about the Muslim level of fiqh, ‘Give 2.5% and wash your hands. Let’s go 10 times on how to wash this way and that way, how to go in between each finger [Shaykh imitates washing hands for wudu].’ What is the level of that mu’min? What does a mu’min give of zakah? What does a mu’min do for wudu? What is the wudu of a mukhles? No doubt he washes his hand. But the mukhles should be washing his heart with zikrullah (remembrance of Allah (AJ)). That his wudu is for his body and his body going into the grave. He is making wudu for his body but his zikr is the wudu of his heart, to purify his heart and his soul in Divinely Presence.
Zakah: His zakah every night is, ‘Ya Rabbi that if You are pleased with me, I’m ready to go. Let my head to be on Your table and grant me to be halal (permissible) for You.’ Mawt al qablil mawt (death of desires before physical death). They live a life waiting that they’re dead and Allah (AJ) says, ‘It is not so easy for you to die. We’re going to stick knife by knife into you.’ This for the video is an analogy. Those are watching and start putting knives in themselves [shaykh laughs]. This is an analogy. That you wish one day it is just over, is you’re going to be dead and the suffering of this life goes. But they say no no, mukhles is Allah (AJ), ‘I’m going to stick sword by sword into you.’
It is a very slow death. One difficulty come, another difficulty come, another humility come, another humiliation. All slow because Allah (AJ) watching that, ‘You worship Me when things are good. You love Me when things are good. You love Me when the bounty opening and cheques are coming and money is flowing. You love Me, making sajdah (prostration) and woah so happy. But when one of these knives begin to hit your way, and difficulty begins to come onto your path, you become angry with Me. You become disappointed and enchanted, disenchanted with Me. You start saying I have forsaken you and forgotten you. What happened oh My little mukhles?’
Mukhles Always Strives for the Excellence
It is different – Muslim. Muslim is constantly battling with the Presence of Allah (AJ) ‘Maybe I love, maybe I don’t love, maybe I love. Allah (AJ) send me a cheque, I love. Allah (AJ) didn’t send a cheque I have some doubts.’ Mukhles they’re teaching, reminding – this is because you must strive for excellence. You don’t take the lowest target and say, ‘I want to be like that. I want to be like the worst ones and the low one and the one that didn’t get anywhere.’ They said – no, strive for the best. That, ‘Ya Rabbi let me to sit at the table with them.’ How we’re going to sit at the table with them? Then copy the way of the mukhliseen. They live a life of service and everything they do is to serve, to serve, to serve.
Mukhleseen are Entrusted by Allah (AJ) to Serve His Creation
Everything is a trust. Mukhles, everything put into the hands of a mukhles is a trust and a test from Allah (AJ). ‘Are you a crook? Are you still mukhles? If Allah (AJ) says, ‘You are mukhles’ and gives you just a fork in your hand, you have to be trembling that, ‘How this fork came into my hand and what am I supposed to do with this?’ The reason we have guides and teachers is to counter our understanding. That, ‘Sayyidi I’m scared. I have a taqwa and a consciousness of Allah (AJ). He has put something into my hands. What’s your opinion?’
To remind that Allah (AJ) says, ‘You are a sincere servant. Nothing can come to you that you can just do whatever you want with it. That you are My servant and I have granted you now to be in My Divinely service. Highest level of faith. That you’re going to serve My creation. You’re going to open a place that you’re going to deal with people. You’re going to teach people and you’re going to prepare people for the arrival of the promised ones.’ That is not a small task.
Mukhleseen Give Themselves Entirely to Prophet ﷺ & Their Faith is Complete
All of creation was waiting for these days. All of creation is waiting to kiss the hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ to complete their faith. They’re all waiting to kiss the hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ to complete their faith. What Prophet ﷺ described of completing your faith when they were coming and giving? So they were giving and Sayyidina Umar (as) gave half of what he has and Sayyidina Abu Bakr as Siddiq (as) gave everything he had. Said that, ‘Sayyidina Abu Bakr as Siddiq (as) he has completed his faith. Ya Umar (as) you have to love me more than you love yourself.’
‘An Sayyidina ‘Umar ibni al Khatabi (as) qala: Amarana Rasulallahi ﷺ an natasaddaqa. Fawafaqa zalika ‘indi mala. Qala: Fajitu bin nisfi mali. Faqala Rasulallahiﷺ: “Ma abqayta li ahlika?” Qultu: “Mislahu.”
Wa ata Abu Bakrin (as) bi kulli ma ‘indahu. Faqala ﷺ: “Ya Aba Bakrin ma abqayta li ahlika?

Sayyidina ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (as) reported: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh), ordered us to give charity. And at the time I had some wealth. I went with half of my wealth to the Prophet (pbuh).
He (pbuh) said, “What have you left for your family?” I said, “The same amount.”
Then, Sayyidina Abu Bakr (as) came with everything he had. The Prophet (pbuh) said, “O Abu Bakr, what have you left for your family?” Abu Bakr said, “Allah and his messenger.”
[Sunan At Tirmidhi 3675]
Wa ‘an ‘Umar (as) qala: “Fawajadtu nafsi aqoolo: Wallahi ya Rasulullahi, inni uhibbuka!
Faqala lahu anNabiyu ﷺ: “Akthara min ahlika ya ‘Umar?” Qultu: Na’am. Qala ﷺ: “Akthara min malika ya ‘Umar?”, Qultu: Na’am. Qala ﷺ: “Akthara min nafsika ya ‘Umar?”, Qala: La.

Narrated by Sayyidina ‘Umar (as) that he said: “I found myself saying, ‘By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, I love you!’ The Prophet (pbuh) said to him, ‘Is it more than your love for your family, O ‘Umar?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ He (pbuh) said, ‘Is it more than your love for your wealth, O ‘Umar?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘Is it more than your love for yourself, O ‘Umar?’ He said, ‘No.’
The Prophet (pbuh), said, ‘No, O ‘Umar, your faith will not be complete until I become more beloved to you than your own self.’ Sayyidina ‘Umar (as) said: So I went out and thought. Then I returned and shouted, ‘By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, you are more beloved to me than myself.’ The Prophet (pbuh) said, ‘Now, O ‘Umar, now [you got it].’ [Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 4, Hadith #594]
It means right there Prophet ﷺ described that the zakah of a mukhles is give themselves. The property and goods that already was given, that was taken a long time ago. Then they’re struggling on how to give themselves entirely for Prophet ﷺ.
So Prophet ﷺ now describing, ‘Your faith is complete.’ Whose faith? If he ‘alayhis salaatus salaam is the Imam of all creation on Isra wal Mi’raj (Night Journey and Ascension) he is the Imam of all the Prophets (as). He is the teacher of all the Prophets (as). All the Prophets (as) must complete their faith. How are they going to complete their faith? As the Sahabi did. They have to give themselves entirely. Everything they have of their nation, of their wealth and possessions from Allah (AJ), they are giving it to the service of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. For what? To witness Prophet ﷺ and kiss the holy hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Mukhleseen Elevate the Believers from Islam to the Reality of Ikhlas (Sincerity)
So means it is huge gift that Allah (AJ) giving. We struggle and strive in just our Islam and our Muslim. But they’re reminding us that leave that. You should have quickly moved from Muslim and strive to be mu’min and from mu’min understand the path of the mukhleseen. That the mukhleseen are the masters. The life and the example that they’re giving for us is to live a life on how to serve Prophet ﷺ with everything we’ve, “Qul inna salati wa nusuki wa mahyaya wa mamati lillahi Rabbil ‘Aalamin.” “Lillahi Rabbil ‘Aalamin,” under “Rahmantan lil’alameen.”
6:162 – “Qul inna salati wa nusuki wa mahyaya wa mamati lillahi Rabbil ‘Aalamin.” (Surat Al-An’am)
Say, “Indeed, my prayer, my services of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. ” (The Cattle, 6:162)
21:107 – “Wa maa arsalnaka illa Rahmatal lil’alameen.” (Surat Al-Anbiya)
“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad (pbuh)], except as a mercy to the worlds/creation.” (The Prophets, 21:107)
Mukhleseen are The Ulul al Baab (Gatekeepers of The Reality)
It means everything in Allah (AJ) to who? To the way of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ to be dressed from “Rahmatan lil’alameen.” So that the presence of Prophet ﷺ begins to open. The mukhleseen, they are the ‘ashiqeen (lovers). They are the Ulul al Baab where Allah (AJ) says that, ‘If you don’t know go ask Ulul al Baab.’ Why not Ulul Amr (saint)? Who are the Ulul al Baab? The people of the door. They stand at the baab (door). Which door are they standing at? “Ana mandinatul ilm wa Ali baabahu.”
Qala RasulAllah ﷺ, “Ana madinatul ‘ilmin wa ‘Aliyyun baabuha.” (Hasan, At Tirmidhi)
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “I am the city of knowledge and ‘Ali (as) is its door/gatekeeper.” [Authentic by Imam Tirmidhi in al-Awsat]
“Baabahu, baabahu.” This is the door of Hu. We pray that we understand these realities. Reminder for ourselves that every day is a struggle, every day is a difficulty. Every day we’re going to be challenged by Allah (AJ) to do much more. This world is about to collapse. As it is collapsing, it is not that you did two good salahs and two good zakahs and you head off on a destination somewhere. But Allah (AJ) calling us into service. You’re going to give with your life, you’re going to give with your zakat, with your prayers, with your action until you take your last breath in faith. We pray that we understand and that Allah (AJ) send a light of Islam, the light of iman, the light of Ihsan (moral excellence), inshaAllah.
