Keep the Company of Ulul Amr, They Will Dress You With Realities
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi.
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ. Madad Ya Sayyidi Ya Sultan al Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Abdullahil Faiz ad Daghestani, madad Ya Sayyidi Ya Sultan al Awliya Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil Haqqani, madad Ya Sayyidi Ya Sultanul Qulubina Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani, madadul Haqq Ya Hujjatullahi al-Mukhles.
Atiullah wa atiur Rasul wa Ulul Amre minkum. Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and if not for the Grace of Allah (AJ) that we will cease to exist.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulul Amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Enter Through the Proper Door: The Path to Divine Mercy
We’re asking to enter the oceans of rahma and mercy in this holy month of forgiveness. In the holy month of Muharram, no haram (forbidden) and that Allah (AJ) open for us a Baab at Tawbah, the gates of repentance and that to be in the hands of awliyaullah (saints) who are the caretakers of the gate. That in every ‘amal (action), whatever we’re trying to do and succeed, that they come into our lives and remind that be in the hands of those who are the gatekeepers. There is a door in which to enter that city and that Prophet ﷺ advised that come to the door. Every house has a door and a correct entrance to enter and enter the house, enter the reality through its door and they are the keepers of the door.
(Surat Al-Baqarah)
“…And it is not righteousness to enter houses from the back, but righteousness is [in] one who fears Allah. And enter houses from their doors. And be Conscious of Allah that you may succeed.” (The Cow, 2:189)
The people of the baab. They are the people of hub and love, with love and ‘ishq of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, love of Allah (AJ) most high. That love manifests in a love of what Allah (AJ) loves and Allah’s (AJ) greatest love is for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. They begin to manifest that love.
People of Baab (Door) are the Actual Gatekeepers of Divine Love
They begin to teach that there are different types of teachings. There are so many scholars and teachers and day’iah (religious propagator), people who are giving da’wah (religious propagation), and most are from the head and what they teach is from their head. What they understood from their head and what they convey through their head and very little of it has effect on other people, if at all any effect upon themselves.
The Secret of ‘Iman (Faith) and Ihsan (Moral Excellance) is in the Hands of the Chosen One ﷺ
It means you can read as much as you want and memorize as much as you want. But if not in the hands, because everything is connected, if not in the hands of “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem. Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulul Amre minkum,” (Holy Qur’an, 4:59) obedience to Allah (AJ) is most high, Maqamul Ihsan (Station of Moral Excellence). So Maqamul Ihsan because every hadiths will explain this reality. That obedience to Allah (AJ) is only in the hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. All the rasuls, all the messengers on the Isra (Night of Journey) had to take the hand of Prophet ﷺ. Why the Isra before the Mi’raj (Ascension)? Prophet ﷺ could’ve gone directly for the Mi’raj. The Isra was that the prophets (as) and messengers were in need to take the hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ to complete their deen (religion). “Innad deena ‘indAllahil Islam.”
3:19 – “Innad deena ‘indAllahil Islam.” (Surat Ali Imran)
“The religion with Allah (AJ) is Islam [Submission]…” (Family of Imran, 3:19)
Allah’s (AJ) religion is Islam – is submission. It is Prophet ﷺ – the only prophecy of Allah (AJ) is in the hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Everybody is an agent within the agency of Prophet ﷺ. So Isra was a completion of their faith. They took their ba’yah (pledge of allegiance), they made the salah (prayer) behind the Imam (religious leader), behind the Salatul Muhammadia (Muhammadan Prayer) and reached to their realities. It means then ‘iman is in the hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Maqamul Ihsan with Allah (AJ) to reach towards what Allah (AJ) wants the servant to reach. The only door of faith is through the heart of Prophet ﷺ which is Maqamul Iman (Station of Faith).
The Role of the Ulul Amr (Saints) in Perfecting the Soul
Then what Allah (AJ) wants for humanity, ‘Come to Islam!’ There are the Ulul Amr that are always alive on this earth. These Ulul Amr they will train you, perfect you and bring you through the correct door. That’s why Allah (AJ) says obey them, ‘Obedience to Me is obedience to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Obedience to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is obedience to Ulul Amr.’ The amr, they carry the alif, they carry the meem of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and they are the ra and they are the arbab (those in authority), they are the Rabbaniyoon (Lordly Souls). Allah (AJ) says in Qur’an: ‘Be Rabbaniyoon. Where you learn the kitab (book) and you taught the kitab.’
3:79 – “…wa lakin kono rabbaniyena bima kuntum tu`allimoonal kitaba wabima kuntum tadrusoon.” (Surat Ali ‘Imran)
“…Be Lordly Souls/faithful servants/worshippers of Him, Because (of what) you have taught the Book and you have studied it earnestly.” (Family of Imran, 3:79)
Journey to ‘Iman Through the Door of Ulul Amr
So means your whole life is the pursuit of knowledge. If you come to their door (door of Ulul Amr), you’re going to enter in the correct reality. They’re going to dress you from the reality of Islam. They’re going to dress you and present you to the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ with your arwah with your soul. You enter into the presence of Prophet’s ﷺ arwah (soul) and to be dressed from the lights of ‘iman. Where Prophet ﷺ described, ‘You have to love me more than you love yourself.’
Wa ‘an ‘Umar (as) qala: “Fawajadtu nafsi aqoolo: Wallahi ya Rasulullahi, inni uhibbuka! Faqala lahu anNabiyu ﷺ: “Akthara min ahlika ya ‘Umar?” Qultu: Na’am. Qala ﷺ: “Akthara min malika ya ‘Umar?”, Qultu: Na’am. Qala ﷺ: “Akthara min nafsika ya ‘Umar?”, Qala: La.
Faqala anNabiyu ﷺ: “La ya ‘Umar, la yakmulu imanoka hatta akuna ahabba ilayka min nafsika.” Yaqoolo ‘Umar (as): Fakhrajtu fafakkartu. [Sahih al-Bukhari, al-Majladu al-Rabi’o, raqm al-hadith 594]
Narrated by Sayyidina ‘Umar (as) that he said: “I found myself saying, ‘By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, I love you!’ The Prophet (pbuh) said to him, ‘Is it more than your love for your family, O ‘Umar?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ He (pbuh) said, ‘Is it more than your love for your wealth, O ‘Umar?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘Is it more than your love for yourself, O ‘Umar?’ He said, ‘No.’
The Prophet (pbuh), said, ‘No, O ‘Umar, your faith will not be complete until I become more beloved to you than your own self.’ Sayyidina ‘Umar (as) said: So I went out and thought. Then I returned and shouted, ‘By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, you are more beloved to me than myself.’ The Prophet (pbuh) said, ‘Now, O ‘Umar, now [you got it].’ [Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 4, Hadith #594]
Praising Through the Heart of Awliyaullah
Only from the Maqamul Iman, where you’re in the light and you’re in the presence of Prophet ﷺ. That’s why all these nasheeds (songs of praise), all these praisings and qasidas (poems). All of them are teaching, these are the praisings of pious people who through their reality they reached. They’re writing the reality and making it a nasheed a qasida for us to recite. Recite, because you may not know it now but recite, it will be dressing because you’re going to be asking that which you knew not.
Most people ask, ‘Ya Rabbi, does okay can I have a some cash? Okay, Ya Rabbi, give me cash, give me some rizq (sustenance), give me some rizq to be good.’ But they don’t know what to ask. When you recite these, these are from the words of awliya. They’re talking about being in that light. They’re talking about: there is no existence but the existence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. There is no beauty, there is no fragrance but the lights of Prophet ﷺ. By reciting, by reciting, by reciting, you are making du’as (supplications) that you didn’t know existed and these du’as Allah (AJ) is asking, ‘Ask! You’ll receive.’
40:60 – “Wa qaala Rabbukum ud ‘ooni astajib lakum;…” (Surat Al-Ghafir)
“And your Lord says, “Call upon Me, I Will Respond/Answer to your (prayer)…” (The Forgiver, 40:60)
Misguided Prayers in Divinely Presence
Not only asking for dunya, they said they went before a king, a very powerful king and everybody is lined up for prayers. One comes in front of the king and say, ‘Can I have some hay?’ The king said: ‘What? I can give you everything. [Man says] ‘Can I have hay for my donkey, I need hay for my donkey.’ He said: ‘You came into the presence of my majesty and you asked for hay?’ [Shaykh thrusts his hand sideways] ‘Get him out of here.’ Coming to Allah’s (AJ) presence and asking for what? Most are asking like that. Someone came to Mawlana Shaykh, said Mawlana can I please have gas? I’m praying for gas. Mawlana said what? Said: ‘Pray for more gas. Pray for more gas? I have gas station Mawlana.’ [Shaykh laughs.] Said: ‘Good, you clarified that. Otherwise you would’ve had difficulty in that du’a.’ Why are you asking these kind of ridiculous things? That’s what people know what to ask.
By reciting these nasheeds and qasidas, we’re asking for things we never understood to ask. Nor did it occur to the ‘aqel (intellect) and the mind. These are the people of ma’rifah (Gnosticism) and the people of the heart. It is through their ‘ishq and through their love. Only that way begins the way of the heart. It means then those who teach from their heart are different than those who teach from their mind. They teach from the mind but they yet not have tasted. Then they come to the hadiths in which Prophet ﷺ is describing that you come to Allah (AJ) with voluntary worship.
‘An Abi Hurairah (ra) qala, Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ : InnAllaha ta’ala qala: “ …, wa la yazaalu ‘Abdi yataqarrabu ilayya bin nawafile hatta ahebahu, fa idha ahbabtuhu kunta Sam’ahul ladhi yasma’u behi, wa Basarahul ladhi yubsiru behi, wa Yadahul lati yabTeshu beha, wa Rejlahul lati yamshi beha, wa la in sa alani la a’Teyannahu, …” [Hadith Qudsi, Sahih al Bukhari, Raqam: 6502)
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (ra) that: the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said that: Allah the Almighty said: “…My servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary acts of worship so that I shall love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him…” [Holy Hadith, Authentic by al-Bukhari, # 6502]
Ulul Amr are Ahle Yaseen ﷺ
So there are servants who understood. So there are people who are studying the 40 hadiths and many times they have so many thousands of videos on the 40 hadiths Imam Nawawi (Q). All of them take the Arabic and say the English and you’ve heard it. But they‘re not teaching what each of those hadiths, what the door of that hadiths, what is the reality of these hadiths. These are for the people of the baab, these are the people of the heart and they are the walking hadiths of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Allah (AJ) described: ‘Come to me with voluntary worship. I’ll be your hearing, I’ll be your seeing, I’ll be the breath in which you breathe. I’ll be the tongue in which you speak. I’ll be the hands in which you touch – Yadulla. “Tabarakal ladhee biyadihil mulk.” Allah (AJ) described then in Suratul Mulk because these servants, they have the mulk of Allah (AJ) in their hands. Ahle Yaseen ﷺ – the people of the qalb and the heart.
67:1 – “Tabarakal ladhee biyadihil mulku wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay in qadeer.” (Surat Al-Mulk)
“Blessed is He in Whose hands is Dominion/kingdom; and He has Power over all things.” (The Sovereignty, 67:1)
Allah (AJ) gives His Subhan (Glory) to their hands, “Subhanal ladhee biyadihi Malakot” ‘Glory be to the hand that controls malakut.’
36:83 – “Fasubhanal ladhee biyadihi Malakotu kulli shay in wa ilayhi turja’oon.” (Surat YaSeen)
“Therefore Glory be to Him in Whose hand is the dominion/ kingdom over everything in heavens, and to Him you will be returned.” (YaSeen, 36:83)
Ulul Amr are the Living Truth of Holy Qur’an and Holy Hadiths
So they have mulk (earthly realm) and malakut (heavenly realm). “Kuli shay” and everything is in that reality that their hands contain. It means these realities from the hadiths of Prophet ﷺ they are not words that Prophet ﷺ conveyed and left. But there should be servants that are walking realities of hadiths. As Prophet ﷺ was walking Holy Quran. When they say walking Holy Quran, awliyaullah come into your life and teach: ‘No, when Sayyidina Aisha (as) said that Prophet ﷺ is walking Quran, he ﷺ is literally walking Quran.’
Qalat as Sayyidatu ‘Ayishata (as): ‘Kana Quranan yamshi ‘ala al ard.”
The beloved lady ‘Ayisha (wife of prophet Muhammad (pbuh)) said: “He (Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)) was a walking Qur’an on earth.”
Not figuratively, he ﷺ is walking Quran. “Qaf al Quran al Majeed.”
50:1 – “Qaf, wal Quranil Majeed.” (Surat Qaf)
“Qaf. By the honored Qur’an.” (The Letter Qaf, 50:1)
Prophet’s ﷺ heart is the location of the emanation of Holy Quran. The surah, when you say surah, means a face. Whose face Allah (AJ) making reference to the surah? It is the face of Prophet ﷺ. Every surah of the Holy Quran is a face of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Ayah, ayah tul min ayahtullah, the sign and the greatest sign of Allah (AJ) is Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. If you want to understand the ayah (verse) it is represented by Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. You want to the know the surah (chapter), it is face, is the face of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Many realities and everything from Holy hadiths is a tremendous opening and tremendous ocean. So then they come and say from this hadiths that,
-
-
I’ll be your speaking in which you speak. It means you’ll be talking upon the ancient tongue of Allah (AJ), Lisanul Haq as Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ (Tongue of Truth) wa Lisan as Siddiq (Tongue of Truth). That they’re inheriting from what Prophet ﷺ giving as an inheritance to pious people. - I’ll be the hands in which you touch, means every mulk will be in your hands and every power be in your hands.
- I’ll be the foot in which you walk, means your qadam (foot) and your walk will be in the way of Allah (AJ).
-
Follow the Qadam of Ulul Amr and Keep Your Eyes on the Path!
When they say, ‘Don’t follow qadam!’ They’re incorrect. Everything is qadam, everything is qadam. Because Sahabi (Holy Companions of Prophet ﷺ) were looking exactly where Prophet ﷺ. Tariqah (spiritual path) is built on ‘Nazar ba Qadam,’ keep your eyes upon your feet. That your eyes are your desire and your hawa. Make sure your desires are watching your feet and say, ‘Ya Rabbi, don’t let these feet take me dancing. That these feet to go to Your zikr (Divine remembrance), to Your mehfil (association), to be in the way. In Your way Allah (AJ), to be of service to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’
So then they become qaddam as-Siddiq (on the footstep of the Truthful), they inherit. Sahabi were walking and seeing where Prophet ﷺ had stepped. Every step that Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ makes is a light and never goes away. What the shaitans did? They took the dirt and they put Italian marble, they took away the lights of Prophet ﷺ. That was the destruction of Madinah. Before when they walk, they see the light of Prophet ﷺ everywhere. Wherever Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ was walking was lights that dressing the soil, dressing everywhere. So that all the hadiths that the companions when they would walk, they would walk around the rock and keep going. They asked: ‘Why did you just go around?’ [He replied] ‘Because this is the way Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ went.’ Not only that, their firasah, their vision, they were seeing the lights of Prophet ﷺ and walking within those lights to be dressed by the Holy Qadam of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. All of that, then they wanted to cover it and put marble and they think that they did you a favor. But they tried to cover all those realities of Prophet ﷺ. That was the destruction of Madinatul Munawwara (luminous city of Prophet ﷺ) so these are the times of dajjal (man/system of deceit).
Ulul Amr are The Rabbaniyoon and Have Divinely Power of ‘Kun Fayakoon’
So means then these servants, they inherit that holy hadiths. So they are walking, hearing from Allah’s (AJ) hearing, seeing from Allah’s (AJ) seeing, speaking from Allah’s (AJ) Divinely qudra (power), hands supported by Allah (AJ), their feet supported by Allah (AJ). So much so, they’re Rabbaniyoon, and they merely ask and they ask and become ‘Kun Fayakoon.’ That type of servant is different than a servant who talks from his head. Someone who understood, read, memorized and goes and talks to people may not necessarily be practicing what they’re talking about. They read it, they conveyed it to you and then they go.
When We Accompany Ulul Amr They Dress Us with The Divinely Attributes
But one whom Allah (AJ) tested and they went through all their testing, they went through all the different difficulties of following the way that Prophet ﷺ wanted them to follow. So means they become certified. When they become certified, mean they’ve been crushed. When they’ve been crushed, their body reality has been crushed and they operate from their soul’s reality. Those are then awliyaullah. When they speak, they’re going to dress you from these sifats (attributes) that Allah (AJ) dressing, what described in the hadiths.
They’re going to dress you from a Divine hearing. Everytime you hear their speech, it has a frequency and an energy that begin to open your sifat of hearing. Because our way is “Sam’ina wa ata’na” ‘We heard and we obeyed.’
(Surat Al-Baqarah)
“…We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys.” (The Cow, 2:285)
But you have to meet one of those who carry that reality. Because the one talking from the head and memorizing from the head is not of that, not that reality.
Ulul Amr Transform and Dress Our Souls with Their Love
The one whom Allah (AJ) describing from the holy hadiths that they came through voluntary worship means they’re the ahlul muhabbat (people of love). They understood all the secrets of muhabbat (love). These ahlul muhabbat, that when they teach, they dress you from their soul. They’re directly sending an energy upon your heart and upon your soul, and they dress and raise the darajah (station) of your soul. Through their eyes, they dress you through your eyes. Through their speech they dress your ears, to reach towards “Sam’ina wa ata’na” [Holy Qur’an, 2:285]. Even from a distance, if you watch things begin to change. Everything you’re hearing, you begin to heat up, you begin to feel an energy, you begin to feel a change within your hearing. A change within your seeing, a change within the energy of your being. Because Allah (AJ) gave that authority.
What Makes Ulul Amr the Rabbaniyoon?
They begin to dress whom Allah (AJ) want them to dress. Those then they’re the walking hadiths of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Because we leave walking Quran for ‘Azhamatun Nabi ﷺ (Might of Prophet ﷺ). But its reality to understand that the walking hadiths of Prophet ﷺ then are these Ulul Amr, the real Ulul Amr. That they carry ‘Izzatullah (Allah’s (AJ) Might and Magnificence). The Amr the alif is the ‘Izzatullah, they have ‘Izzatullah in their hand. They carry ‘izzatul Rasul (honour of the Messenger) in their heart and as a result they are Rabbaniyoon. They carry the order of Allah (AJ) and Allah (AJ) described them in Surat Yaseen that they have the amr and the irada. These are the people of ‘Kun Fayakoon.’
36:82 – “Innama AmruHu idha Arada shay an, an yaqola lahu kun faya koon.” (Surat YaSeen)
“His Command is when He Wills/Intends a thing, He says to it, “Be,” and it is!” (YaSeen, 36:82)
Every Suhbat (Discourse) from Ulul Amr is a Fire that Refines Our Soul
That they have tremendous gifts from Allah (AJ), that what Allah (AJ) dressed upon them. If they teach you, then they teach you from its realities. Our life is about seeking out those types of people. Not the one teaching from the head. Alhamdulillah that is entertaining. But the one able to teach you from your heart, teach you from their heart to your heart is affecting you, it is changing you. Maybe you don’t feel it at first, you’re a wet log. A wet log doesn’t feel the fire, it just ‘Hey, it is kind of interesting, nice food there.’ But when the energy begin to come and begin to come and begin to come, you begin to feel the heat. You begin to feel the anger and all the character, why? Because this fire is burning. Every suhbat is fire. Every suhbat is a fire coming onto the soul and like a torch upon gold.
So means that you have to burn the gold to bring all the najes (dirty) and all the impurity out. Otherwise they don’t want the servant to go into the qabr (grave) with that difficulty. It means that every energy that Allah (AJ) giving from every talk and every nazar and everything you eat and drink, is going to be sending an energy upon the servant in which they begin to feel heated. They begin to feel aggravated, they begin to feel all sorts of emotions. Because these are the qudras that are dressing upon them.
Don’t Ask to Be Judged! The Folly of Trusting One’s Actions
Then they begin to teach you, that when the first hadiths of Imam Nawawi (Q), is “Kulu ‘aamaalu bin niyaat,” and they just translate it into English.
‘An Amirul Mumineen ‘Umar ibn al Khattab (as) qala: qala Rasulullahi ﷺ: “Innama al ‘aamaalu bin niyaat.” [Sahih Muslim, Raqam 1907, Kitab 33, Hadith 22]
The leader of the believers ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (as) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “Verily all deeds/actions are based on their intentions.” [Source: Authentic by Muslim: Number 1907, Book 33, Hadith 22]
What the reality of that hadiths that Prophet ﷺ wanted for us? One of its realities, that awliyaullah are like lawyers in a court. When they read the first hadiths and says “Kulu ‘aamaalu bin niyaat,” that immediately they understood that Prophet ﷺ is warning. Don’t come with your ‘amal. Pray, constantly pray that Allah (AJ) never to judge you. Don’t ask to go through the door of judgement. What we talked last night? It is like somebody crazy asking for audit. Say, ‘Ya Rabbi, audit me, come on audit me, audit me now tonight.’ You’d be dead. You’d be burned. If Allah (AJ) want to sit the servant down and audit them, because He is teaching every ‘amal binniyat. That’s why the hadiths, the voluntary, ‘Who comes to Me with voluntary.’
So means don’t put your effort on only ‘amal and fard (obligatory). Because Allah (AJ) clarifying, these ‘amal, your prayers, your fasting, your shahadah (testimony of faith), your zakah (charity), and even your Hajj (pilgrimage). Now Hajj most, because Hajj is a tourist package. You spend $15,000 and go to a top tower and fly in first class. I don’t know how much of that is for Allah (AJ). Air conditioned bus, beautiful tents, Coca Cola, they even bring Coca Cola into your tent. [Shaykh laughs.]
“Kulu ‘aamaalu bin niyaat,” means then this ‘amal has to be in a court of law, Allah (AJ) has to judge its intention. So if we’re going to go through the door of ‘amal, there is going to be a big court and Allah (AJ) going to bring every intention of every ‘amal. ‘Ya Rabbi! He gave a big amount.’ [Allah (AJ) says] ‘Let’s check his intention.’ Maybe it was to be seen or known by people? That action will then be voided and put aside. Then they look at something, ‘Ya Rabbi, they prayed a lot and prayed really long.’ Because you have a wakeel (representative), you have an attorney, prayed really long. In Allah’s (AJ ) court of justice, ‘Oh he prayed long? Everybody saw him pray long?’ ‘Yes.’ ‘He wanted to be known by people, throw his ‘amal out. I’m not counting his salah.’ Every action Allah (AJ) is going to come, said ‘Even whatever you did for Me of your salah and your praying wasn’t worth the eyesight I gave you. It wasn’t worth the breath I gave you, 24,000 breaths in a day.’
Every ‘Amal Will Be Judged Except the Actions of Love
So what Prophet ﷺ was telling Sayyidina Aisha (as)? ‘Don’t pray Allah (AJ) doesn’t judge you.’ Don’t go through the door of judgement.
‘An Sayyidatina Aisha (as), zawjin Nabiyi ﷺ annaha kaanat taqulu: Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ: “Saddidu wa qaaribu wa abshiru, fayinnahu lan yudkhilal jannata ahadan ‘amaluhu.” Qalu: “Wala anta ya Rasulallahi?” Qala ﷺ: “Wala ana, illa an yataghammadanil Allahu (AJ) minhu birahmatin…” [Sahih Muslim 2818a, Kitab 52, Hadith 75]
Sayyidatina A’isha (as), the wife of Allah’s Apostle (pbuh) reported that Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) used to say: “Observe moderation (in doing deeds), and if you fail to observe it perfectly, try to do as much as you can do (to live up to this ideal of moderation) and be happy. For none would be able to get into Paradise because of his deeds alone.” They (the Companions of the Holy Prophet (pbuh)) said: “Allah’s Messenger, not even you?” Thereupon he said (pbuh): “Not even I, but that Allah (AJ) wraps me in His Mercy…” [Sahih Muslim 2818a, Book 52, Hadith 75]
So, they understood that hadiths was a warning from Prophet ﷺ. Every ‘amal is going to have a judgement. Don’t count on that ‘amal. You do your fard because Allah (AJ) ordered it but look for the ‘amal that’s based on love. There is no judgement. It is muhabbat. What Allah (AJ) going to judge from Sunnah (traditions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) prayers? What are you going to judge? The fard has to be judged. What was the intention? You pray to be seen by people because if you live in a Muslim country, everybody has to pray. They shut all the business, everybody line up, you don’t line up they smack you with a stick. What’s the love in salah? It is the Sunnah. When everybody left, said, ‘Where would everybody go so quick?’ We went for certain countries, they prayed the azaan, azaan, the fard finishes. Empty, the masjid is empty. Who is praying the Sunnah? The only who are the lovers because they’re doing it for love anyway. The fard was mandatory, everybody left on the mandatory. Who sits and does the Sunnah is an act of love.
So means then everything you do for Prophet ﷺ is an act of love. That is what they base their whole life from that hadiths. That, ‘Ya Rabbi, I’m not going through the doors of intention and I’m not, I’m not looking for that, I’m looking for Your doors of muhabbat. I want to go sit in the mehfil because it is not fard. This is only because of love. I want to show my love for You and praise You day and night, Ya Rabbi. I’m looking and searching for Your mehfils and Your zikr.’ That can be judged? Can Allah (AJ) say, ‘No, you are wrong. You were not supposed to come every night, you were only supposed to come Friday night.’ Impossible!
For Our Islam to Become Real, Our Hands Must be in the Hands of Ulul Amr
It means love can never be judged. ‘Ya Rabbi for the sake of Your love, for the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, I brought some rice to the mehfil. I brought some water to the mehfil. I go out and feed people for Your love, Ya Rabbi, for the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’ So means these doors of muhabbat open every reality. That opens the secret of the second hadith – about Islam, ‘Iman wal Ihsan. That was what they’re teaching, the Maqamul Ihsan is to obey Allah (AJ), the Maqamul Iman is to love Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Maqamul Islam, for your Islam to be real, you must be in the hands of Ulul Amr. So that you’re coming through the baab and the door and they they’re dressing with the correct understanding, correct realities. Dressing your soul, your heart and your entire being. Not just entertaining your head.
Because the other one who are not Ulul Amr, so if you sit in an association where there is not an Ulul Amr, what are you doing? You’re entertaining your head. Because they keep repeating the same hadiths but they didn’t explain it. They didn’t describe its reality, nor were they capable of dressing the servant from its reality. Because those of muhabbat, Allah (AJ) said ‘Kun Fayakoon’ – they’re going to dress you with all of these sifat. They dress it upon your soul, they dress you, bless you and present you to the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. We pray that Allah (AJ) always keep us in the company of the Ulul Amr, the real Ulul Amr. That, alhamdulillah, under their flags and under their feet that not for ourselves only, but our children, and our children to come all the way to the day of judgement.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
