I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the rejected one
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
May Allah (AJ) give us a good life, long life, blessed life, reaching from one Jum’ah to the next Jum’ah, to be blessed, to be dressed from Divinely Light and real Jum’ah is in the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Everything that we are doing is by imitation, that we pray that Prophet ﷺ always accept that amal (action), dress it, bless it, purify it and present it to Allah’s (AJ) Divinely Presence. All paths and everything that we’re doing is leading to Allah (AJ), leading to the hands of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, and trying our best to follow the ways of the ulul amr (saints), ahlul haqqaiq and the people of realities.
The Word ‘Self’ Has Been Used to Beautify an Ugly Reality of the Ego
There are so many difficulties moving quickly upon the earth. So many visible signs of events that are moving upon the earth; and we pray that Allah (AJ) bless us and protect us and make us to be guarded. Everything about tariqah (spiritual path) comes to reinforce that, and constantly put a reminder within my heart and the hearts of those who listen, because that reminder will save us. If but one step and we may find ourself in the wrong direction.
“Allahumma laa takilnee ila nafsee tarfat `aynin wa laa aqala min dhalika.”
“O Allah! Don’t leave me to my ego for the blink of an eye or less.” Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
It means that Prophet ﷺ is teaching that, ‘Ya Rabbi, don’t leave me to myself for a blink of an eye.’ That reality, if we live by that and write that on our mirror, write that on our walls, that not to trust ourselves, never rely on the self, never listen to the self; never try to take care of the self. Everything that is in this hemisphere philosophy is wrong. They made a fancy word of ego and called it self, beautified a very dirty reality. Because if you say that I’m going to listen to my ego, I’m going to take care of my ego, I’m going to feed my ego and I’m going to let my ego advise me and guide me; then we would have clearly understood that’s wrong. And that is the way of shaitan, is to veil and to hide something so that we are not seeing it for what it really is.
Ya Rabbi, Don’t Leave Us to Our Self (Ego) For a Blink of an Eye
What Prophet ﷺ warned us, is always a reminder for the people of tafakkur especially, who are constantly contemplating that, ‘Ya Rabbi, don’t let me to follow myself. Don’t let me to follow my desires. Don’t let me to always look for what I’m wanting but what is it that You want? Ya Rabbi, what is it that You Desire? What is it that will move towards Your Want from me and the oceans of tasleem and submission?’ And awliya (saints) teach us that that is the way that we try to live our lives and die from this world. It means you may spend all your life in the way of Allah (AJ) and at the last step shaitan begins to trick and fool and make that abd (servant) to move into a different direction.
Alhamdulillah, Allah (AJ) put us in the hands of awliyaullah so that they constantly intervene. They don’t trust themselves and they don’t trust your self; they trust only in Allah (AJ), and Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. And that light of Prophet ﷺ reflecting in the heart of awliyaullah. It means that their tafakkur and their contemplation, their madad and support means that they’re surrounded by that light, blessed by that light, guided by that light, and that is the light in which they rely upon; that is the light of guidance.
Reality of Malakut (Heavenly Realm) and World of Light
It means that when Allah (AJ) describes in the last verse of Surah YaSeen, “Blessed be the hands that have the authority of malakut.” Surat al-Mulk is the “Blessed be the hands who have the mulk of dunya.”
36:83 – “Fasubhanal ladhee biyadihi Malakotu kulli shay in wa ilayhi turja’oon.” (Surat YaSeen)
“Therefore Glory be to Him in Whose hand is the dominion/ kingdom over everything in heavens, and to Him you will be returned.”
(YaSeen, 36:83)
67:1 – “Tabarakal ladhee biyadihil mulku wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay in qadeer.” (Surat Al-Mulk)
“Blessed is He in Whose hands is Dominion/kingdom; and He has Power over all things.” (The Sovereignty, 67:1)
In Surah YaSeen from heart of Qur’an, Allah (AJ) is talking about their hands are from malakut. Sometimes when we speak English and we don’t convey the Arabic, something gets lost in translation. When we talk about the world of light people think that this is something simple, something cute and, okay, the world of light. But these are from the highest realities. These are from the maqam al-Iman (station of faith), up above maqam al-Ihsan (station of excellence). That malakut is the subtle world, the world that is not something physical that we can see known to us as the world of light, of angels, of realities, the reality of Holy Qur’an, the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Blessed Are the Hands That Have Authority Over Mulk wal Malakut (Heaven and Earth)
These are from the malakut, and Allah (AJ) is describing, ‘Blessed are their hands,’ because they are the hands of the malakut. Through their hands you can reach towards your heavenly reality and your heavenly station, your heavenly paradises and the proximity to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ through their hands. If Allah (AJ) gave them an authority to guide you to your paradise reality, imagine what authority they have for your dunya, on this earth.
That is Surat Mulk, “Tabbaruk al ladhi bi yadihi..” ‘Blessed be their hands whom We have given the dominion of this dunya.’
The Blessed Hands Distribute the Rizq (Sustenance) of Your Body and Soul
It means that dunya is under their authority; many of them have keys for their students, that Prophet ﷺ has given to them keys. With those keys they can open and shut the rizq and the sustenance. They can open and shut what comes to you and what leaves you because everything is divided by Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
When Prophet ﷺ said that, ‘One of my names is Al-Qasim (the Distributor),’ that every provision and everything written by Allah (AJ) is coming to the soul from malakut. It comes to the oceans of light; from that ocean of light, it’s been directed to the souls. It’s deep for people to contemplate.
“Innamaa bu’ithtu Qasiman, Aqsimoo baynakum”
“I have been sent as a distributor (Qasim), so I distribute among you.” (Sahih Muslim, Book 38, 5)
It means that ocean of light may not have been coming to you. That Allah (AJ) describes, ‘Their hands are the hands of authority.’ It means when they partition and they ask from Prophet ﷺ, they can redirect these lights towards your soul, dress you from realities, bless you from realities, that would have never been coming to you. And that’s why Allah (AJ) put them in Surah YaSeen, at the end, ‘Blessed be their hands.’
What’s the last verse of Surah YaSeen? “Subhanal ladhee biyadihi Malakotu kulli shay…” ‘Glory be to Him in Whose hand is the dominion/ kingdom over everything in heaven.’
36:83 – “Fasubhanal ladhee biyadihi Malakotu kulli shay in wa ilayhi turja’oon.” (Surat YaSeen)
“Therefore Glory be to Him in Whose hand is the dominion/ kingdom over everything in heavens, and to Him you will be returned.” (YaSeen, 36:83)
Because they have the ability to bring you from the world of light, that reality, and through that hand, you will be returning. It means they can reach to a maqam (station) that was not for you. They can bless you with a maqam that was not for you; they dress you from a reality that was not from you. Allah described, ‘These are the people of authority; We gave them the authority of malakut,’ not mulk, because when we talk about light, people think, ‘What it this light? Light is cute, talking about light.’ ‘Oh, you lost it in the translation.’
Guides of Malakut Are in Charge of the Light of Your Souls
These are not a reality and not a maqam (station) that can be reached; these are a ni’mat (blessing) from Allah (AJ). Allah (AJ) grants those lights to awliya, make them to be guides of the malakut (heavenly realm). Because there are also guides that only deal with mulk (earthly realm). That’s why we say when you watch them on the internet, listen to how they talk. They are hadith translators. MashaAllah, hadith of Prophet ﷺ has so much tabarak (blessing). They take the Arabic and translate the English or Urdu; and people are astonished but all they heard was the hadith. They read it, they said it and that was it! This is the guidance of the mulk, the guidance of the physicality, the guidance of the dunya.
But to be a guide for malakut, that Allah (AJ) says, ‘In their hands are the hands of light, is the authority of light.’ From that ocean of light they can redirect the light into the souls, change the destiny and the darajat (rank) of those souls, bless them, dress them, and begin to provide for them, because what comes to you will begin to affect what’s coming to your body. If it not coming to your soul, it won’t come to the body. So they are in charge of your soul. If with that mulk, with that authority, if Allah’s (AJ) making them to have that authority, how could they endanger your soul by the provision that reaches to your body. It means if you’re not clear and your haqq (truth) is not clear, and your heart is not clear, that provision will stay locked. And you can bang your head all you want, nothing will change.
Use Hasanat (Goodness) of Dunya to Make a Palace of Your Akhirah (Hereafter)
When they see the servant is understanding and the servant is in the ocean of tasleem and in their heart is in tasleem, and that their body and soul is moving in the same direction, Allah (AJ) opens everything because now, “fi dunya hasanat wa akhirah hasanat,” which means they give you the goodness of this dunya (worldly life) and they give you the goodness of akhirah (hereafter).
2:201 – “Wa minhum mai yaqoolu rabbanaaa aatina fid dunyaa hasanatawn wa fil aakhirati hasanatanw wa qinaa azaaban Naar.” (Surat Al-Baqarah)
“Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.” (The Cow, 2:201)
But we’ve said before many times, the reality of that ayah (verse) is they want your hasanat of dunya to make the palace of your akhirah, not the palace of your dunya and have nothing in your akhirah, because you take your dunya and you blow it, and you lost the palace of your akhirah. And that can happen on one breath, that can happen in one step, that can happen with one bad choice. Shaitan (devil) is waiting, waiting for us to make a mistake.
It means their whole life and the reality of guidance is constantly to guide, that don’t think we’re here for your benefit, your financial benefit; some people come for the zikr (association of remembrance) to find business partners and find accounts. This is not the benefit of the zikr. That was the tabarak and the blessing that dresses you from what they gave to your soul, and the guidance and the proximity in which they put your soul into the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. As a result of that, they are responsible, that that darajat of the soul, it has to match what the body is achieving in dunya. How can you have a soul that close to Prophet ﷺ and your body is now running in a different direction doing things that are not going to make us to be close to Prophet ﷺ. It means a constant reminder that we dressed from the zikr, blessed from the zikr, many lights put upon the soul that are unimaginable.
The Blessings You Feel is Not From You, It’s From Allah (AJ), Prophet ﷺ, and Your Shaykh
The guides begin to teach us that is the way of that reality. That’s why it’s important; we said in these days, when they begin to open much more lights, these lights that are opening will compensate the difficulty now coming onto this dunya, many miraculous lights, many miraculous events. These lights will be able to protect people from radiation that most people are now dying from. These lights are sufficient enough to bring a blessing onto earth so Allah’s (AJ) Zilzalah (earthquake) doesn’t crush everything, unimaginable realities, unimaginable ni’mat (blessings).
But what’s important and what we asked is that people make that website, that understand this barakah is not from you. And the one speaking already knows it’s not from him, it’s from Allah (AJ), it was from Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, it was from the fa’iz of our Shaykhs, Sultan al Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Haqqani ق and Mawlana Shaykh ق – he already knows it. And that’s why they gave the authority and the ijaza (authorization), an ijaza from Sultan al Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Haqqani ق, as a representative and khalifa of Mawlana Shaykh ق; and the ijaza from Mawlana Shaykh ق. It means he already knows it, the one speaking already knows that reality.
Did We Not Find You Misguided, Poor, and Blind? We Guided You, Enriched You and Made You See
But the danger of what’s happening is that so many blessings are coming, so many lights are coming, so many realities and openings are coming, that if we have a little bit of sickness within our self, we’re going to feel that this is from me. That this is something that was mine, this is something from my cleverness. They teach no, no, did we not find you poor and we enriched you? Did we not find you misguided and we guided you? Did we not find you blind and made you to see? But when you read all the songs, these are the songs of awliyaullah – it is the ‘Amazing Grace – for once I was blind and now I see’. How difficult is it for a servant of Allah (AJ) to see?
All your life you can spend in practices and you can never see anything. But if they have their hand from malakut, they merely flip a switch and your soul will begin to see but it’s not from you; it’s from their authority. It means when these tabaraks and blessings begin to open big, everybody is going to run away. Everybody is going to think, ‘Oh I gotta do this, this blessing is with me.’ When we don’t write it and confirm it, no, no, this is the condition in which I came and this guide guided me in everything, of which I don’t know from my soul and the lowest is from that dunya.
Write Down How Awliya Improved Your Faith and Condition
Look how my faith changed, my visions changed, my experience and interaction with Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, with awliyaullah changed, everything about my life changed. And oh, look at all the miraculous things of my rizq and sustenance which is lowest; not everything is based on only how everybody got the money. But what condition were they in and how their faith improved, how their families improved, how their families are all safeguarded, and wait until they’re 12 and 13-year-old children are in the zikr instead of outside doing crack. Then you’ll understand the true power of guidance.
Then study some of the people who ran, and the difficulty that their families are in, the difficulty and the hardship that their families are in because they attributed that barakah to themselves. Shaitan cut them, made them isolate themselves. And they lost that light, they lost that blessing, they lost that tajalli. And they find themselves alone with shaitan, with difficulty upon their families, difficulty upon their children, difficulty upon themselves. And that’s all that shaitan wants for us.
So if we don’t remind ourselves as a collective whole and a community, because it’s not about me, but as a collective community, encourage everybody to write an article and tell us what condition you came? How the tariqa improved you, how all of the zikr improved you, how everything in your life changed. How you have your beard, I have pictures with men who had no beards. How you have a turban and you’re in full sunnah, and you drive around with your head covered in Sunnat an Nabi ﷺ. That’s a miracle.
Everything We Do Should Be For Allah (AJ) and Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
They (awliya) are the safeguards of faith, and they encourage the faith, they encourage the practices. With that light and with that love, with that reminder constantly for myself, I’m constantly reminded about that reality. If I’m constantly reminded about that reality, then I don’t attribute anything to myself. When you begin to feel that that fa’iz and that light is from ourselves, that’s the danger, run. You run and listen to the wiles of shaitan and he is making us to go. And these are dangerous days to go and leave the path.
We pray that Allah (AJ) bless us and protect us, that Allah (AJ) encourage us to be truthful with ourselves always. And that we’re always in a state of contemplation, that what is it that Allah (AJ) wants, what is it that Prophet ﷺ wants. That, ‘Ya Rabbi, don’t leave me for a blink of an eye, to my own desire.’ That everything should be done for Allah (AJ) and Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, nothing for personal. You do not do something to give personal access to somebody; you don’t do something for wanting something back. You do it only for the love of Allah (AJ) and Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and expect nothing in return.
We Give Bayah, We Don’t Take Bayah (Allegiance)
Then we know that the intention was clear, the understanding was clear; we say even in every aspect they teach us even through the words that we give bayah and we don’t take bayah. Take bayah means I’m going to take something from here and I’m going to come here and I’m going to take something from you. And you are wrong. They teach us, no, you came to give. Your bayah is to Allah (AJ) through the hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. “Qul inna salati wa nusuki, wa mahyaya wa mamati lillahi Rabbil ‘Aalamin.” That I’m going to give myself, my life, my family, my wealth, all has to go back. Allah’s (AJ) going to take it anyways. Higher are those who gave it.
Say, “Indeed, my prayer, my services of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. (162) No partner has He; and this I have been commanded, and I am the first of those who submit. (163)” (The Cattle, 6:162-163)
Return Your Amanat (Trust)
So we came to give and not take. They can take that dirt and make it into gold and we see our center now today; it’s gold, it’s a jewel, it’s an oasis in the middle of this city of Vancouver. By means of this Naqshbandi centre, this city has not been destroyed yet; it’s destiny was for many destructions. But by virtue of that zikr and the lights that Allah’s (AJ) dressing upon these realities, it’s saving this city, of which we can’t imagine.
It means then for ourselves and our constant contemplation, don’t attribute anything to yourself. Say even in the concept of giving, you didn’t give anything. You say, no Shaykh I give; I give you this picture, I gave you some cash, no you are incorrect. Giving means that you put yourself into the amal (action) and you made a hidden shirk, as if it was yours, you brought it from the heavens, you manufactured it, and now you have the right to give it. But they teach like an eloquence, like a ballet, it’s an eloquence with the ego and with the reality that Allah (AJ) wants to dress us, you returned your trust. Why, because you are a trustworthy servant of Allah (AJ).
RijalAllah (Men of God) are Not Distracted by Business or Trade
Allah (AJ) describes in Holy Qur’an, so you want to go back and read Surat an-Nur (The Light), who are the rijalAllah (Men of God)? ‘They’re the ones that neither business nor trade confuse them or diverted them from Allah (AJ).’
(Surat An-Nur)
“By men of God (Rijal) whom neither business/trade nor sale distracts (them) from the remembrance of Allah and performance of prayer and giving of regular Charity…” (The Light, 24:37)
It means what? They understood that everything that came to them was from Allah (AJ) and because they are trustworthy servants, they are merely custodians for what Allah (AJ) sends. It’s not their giving, that they are merely an amanat and a trust. And with that amanat, they do what Allah (AJ) wants them to do, they do what Prophet ﷺ wants them to do, and they live that life in submission.
It means if we don’t understand that understanding, already shaitan is playing with us and the key remains locked. It means how can they open if it’s going to make you sick? But when we’re clear in our understanding that no, no, this is all Allah’s (AJ), I’m merely a custodian. And there are darajats of trustworthy custodians. What come to them they give; they take their fee to survive and the balance is for what Allah (AJ) wants to establish through them.
Don’t Attribute Anything to Yourself, It’s All From Allah (AJ)
Even in your work, if you think you got an account from you, you are already incorrect because Allah (AJ) says, ‘I’m the one who conveys hearts. I’m the one who opens people’s hearts. I opened their heart to send you that ni’mat and if I want, I shut their heart and you never receive that gift.’ The sickness is that when we go out we just say, ‘No, no, I just got this account, I got that account, I got it!’ Then we begin to attribute everything from I; I got this account, I got that account; no, no, no, no you didn’t get any account. If Allah’s (AJ) happy, Prophet’s ﷺ happy, awliyaullah are happy, they inspire the hearts of people and support of people. If somebody comes and gives you an account and then we understand that was an amanat; that was something that was entrusted that returned to me. So that constantly to battle myself, battle myself, battle myself and never let myself to think that it is from it.
Never trust myself, never believe in myself, never rely on myself. But I trust in my Shaykh, believe in my Shaykh, and rely on my Shaykh. That is the way of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ; it is what’s called ihtiba (obedience), where Sahabi, (holy companions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ), they believed in Prophet ﷺ, they relied on Prophet ﷺ, and they trusted in Prophet ﷺ. Everything was for the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. They never saw Allah (AJ), they never saw a book being revealed. But they fought and died, and they lived and breathed for the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
We pray that in this holy month, the month of Rajab, month of Shaban, month of Ramadan, Allah (AJ) open for us from the realities of the malakut, realities of light, and bring us closer to the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and awliyaullah. Astaghfirullah al-Adhim wa atubu ilaih (we seek Allah’s forgiveness and repent to Him).
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al Mustafa wa bi sirri Surat al Fatiha.
