Train Your 7 Levels of Nafs Through the 7 Verses of Surah Fatiha
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Allah’s (AJ) Mercy Takes Us From Ammara to Lawwama
That this path of ours that Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us from the knowledges that emanating from the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. We talked about the levels of the nafs (ego). As we are entering into the cave, this journey every year into the cave of realities, the cave; the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ in the world of light and to reach into that understanding and its secret.
They said for us in the levels of iman (faith), the levels of the nafs (ego), that the entry and the majority are Ammara (Evil Self). That evil is good to them. Then when Allah (AJ) want to guide the servant and the darajats (spiritual ranks) of guidance, very basic guidance, Allah’s (AJ) rahmah (mercy) take them out of Ammara into Lawwama (Blaming Self) where they have now a consciousness.
Moving to Lawwama Gives You Consciousness
So, we’ll Englishsize everything. Ammara – evil and evil seems good to these people. They don’t think they’re doing evil or they would stop it. They actually think that those actions are ‘Okay, good, no problem.’ Lawwama – Allah (AJ) gives you now a consciousness, that “Thumma amanoo, thumma kafaroo.” One day, you believing, next day you’re not believing.
4:137 – “Innal ladheena amano thumma kafaro thumma amano thumma kafaroo thumma izdado kufran lam yakuni Allahu liyaghfira lahum wa la liyahdiyahum sabeela.” (Surat An-Nisa)
“Indeed, those who have believed then disbelieved, then believed, then disbelieved, and then increased in disbelief – Allah won’t forgive them, nor will He guide them on a path/way.” (The Women, 4:137)
Feed on Ilm ul Yaqeen to Be Lifted From Nafs Ammara
We went into all of the descriptions and its understandings; then, Mulhima (Inspired Self). That now Allah (AJ), with these shaykhs, we said from Ammara and to be lifted up to Lawwama through shawarma (laughter) because Ammara’s all fire. So, to be lifted up, you know, past the shawarma state of you just cooking, you have to be fed ilm ul yaqeen (knowledge of certainty).
102:5 – “Kal la law t’alamoona ‘ilm al yaqeen.” (Surat At-Takathur)
“No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty.” (The Rivalry in World Increase, 102:5)
So, we remember on our notes: this way of rising is only through ilm ul yaqeen and ilm ul yaqeen – basics of fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence), shari’ah (Divine law), Holy Qur’an and Hadith (traditions of Prophet ﷺ). Its basics is also within the ocean of ilm ul yaqeen. This means these knowledges and these realities of Allah (AJ) has to be dressing the servant to lift them from Ammara.
There is No Guidance Unless Allah (AJ) Chooses to Guide (Holy Qur’an, 7:43)
As they’re going to ascend when Allah (AJ) says, ‘No, there is no guidance except if Allah (AJ) guides a servant.’
7:43 – “…wa qalo Alhamdulillahi al ladhee hadana lihadha wa ma kunna linahtadiya lawla an hadana Allahu, laqad jaa at Rusulu Rabbina bil Haqqi…” (Surat Al-A’raf)
“… And they will say, Praise be to Allah, who has guided us to this [joy and happiness]; and we would never have been guided if Allah had not guided us. Certainly the messengers of our Lord had come with the truth…” (The Heights, 7:43)
So, nothing you can do that you can seek out and that you could lift yourself out of a hole of difficulty. Allah (AJ) only gives an initial push when He wants to guide the servant. But Allah (AJ), when true guidance wants to come, must continuously be pushing and pulling that servant out of every type of difficulty. The sign of a servant being pulled from difficulties – if Allah (AJ) give them access to ilm ul yaqeen from ilm al laduni wa hikmati bis salihin (Divinely Knowledge and Wisdom of the Righteous).
Your Inner Self Controls How You Manifest
Because Allah (AJ), we get up now and then it’ll explain. So, knowledges of certainty that these are not everyday and every occurring knowledges. These are knowledges of malakut (heavenly realm) and that kulli shay. That Allah (AJ) says, ‘This malakut is all encompassing power.’
36:83 – “Fasubhanal ladhee biyadihi Malakotu kulli shay in wa ilayhi turja’oon.” (Surat YaSeen)
“Therefore Glory be to Him in Whose hand is the dominion/ kingdom over everything in heavens, and to Him you will be returned.” (YaSeen, 36:83)
Bring Out Your Inner Sifat al-Raheem to Control Your Outer Sifat al-Rahman
Meaning what? The power of your atomic reality is what controls your form. Your form doesn’t control what’s inside. Science knows – what’s inside controls how you’re manifesting. If your energy and your atoms are off, you’re cajikoly; you’re crippled.
So, Allah (AJ) is teaching for us, ‘Don’t forget your inside, your malakut. Your sifat al-Raheem (Attribute of the Merciful) controls how you manifest under sifat al-Rahman (Attribute of the Beneficent).’ That’s why “Salamun qawlam mir Rabbir Raheem.” That that light, that reality, the inner reality has to be built and has to be brought out.
36:58 – “Salamun qawlam mir Rabbir Raheem.” (Surat YaSeen)
“Peace, a word from a Merciful Lord.” (YaSeen, 36:58)
What You Feed Your Body is NOT What You Feed Your Soul
So, Ammara – shaitan (satan) and the nafs have taken the soul, hijacked. The soul, its image is that it’s like been kidnapped by demons. It’s being quieted. It’s not being fed. It’s being deprived. It’s being abused. But the soul because it’s from paradise, is naqtullah – it’s the camel for us to understand. It can go very long with nothing.
But what shaitan wants is weaken it. Put it in fear. Deprive it of anything and any food and rizq (sustenance) from Allah (AJ) which has to be from malakut. What you feed your body is not what you feed your soul. If it doesn’t get its water and it doesn’t get its food, it begins to die which is energy, which is ilm ul yaqeen.
Nafs Mulhima is to Ask for and Learn From Divinely Knowledges
Ilm ul yaqeen (knowledge of certainty) is oceans of power that are coming through. Mulhima (Inspired Self), the servant is being taught by these shuyukhs and being taught ilm ul yaqeen because at the first state, you are eating ilm ul yaqeen. We said the analogy of eating means you’re being taught knowledges.
There’s no kebab that comes for light and you eat the light. When they ask for a table from heaven, it means they are asking for knowledges and Divine lights in realities. Every knowledge has a Divine qudra and power and light that enters into the soul. They must be eating from those tables.
Heavenly Guides Feed Ilm ul Yaqeen for the Sake of Allah (AJ)
From who? The servants who only want WajhAllah, the Face of Allah (AJ). They feed you. They feed you only for the sake of Allah (AJ). Means what? That they give their knowledges for the sake of Allah (AJ).
(9)” (Surah Al-Insaan)
“And they feed, in spite of love for it, to the needy/indigent, the orphan, and the captive. (8) (Saying), We feed you for the sake of the Holy/divine Face alone: We wish not from you reward or gratitude. (9)” (The Human, 76:8-9)
Satanic Inspirations Attack Those in the State of Mulhima
So, Mulhima, they’re now being inspired. That’s why then your hand has to be very tight with the shaykh because as you’re being inspired, your channel’s opening. When your channel opening, who’s there on your opening? It’s ifrits (powerful demons) and shayateen (devils). Every type of devil is on your channel. You don’t have that energy that pushes them away.
As soon as you begin to practice and take this way of ascension, you’re opening yourself. As soon as you begin to open yourself, there’s the danger, the great danger of this waswases (whisperings). You think it’s an inspiration from heavens and no, it’s an inspiration from shayateen.
Those Who are Guided Will Have a Protecting Guide, Waliyun Murshidun (Holy Qur’an, 18:17)
That’s why Allah (AJ) describes that, ‘When I want to guide you, I send you to waliyun murshidun.’
18:17 – “Wa tarash shamsa idha tala’at tazawaru an kahfihim dhata al yameeni wa idha gharabat taqriduhum dhataash shimali wa hum fee faj watin minhu, Dhalika min ayati Allahi, man yahdillahu fahuwal Muhtadi, wa man yudlil falan tajida lahu waliyyan murshida.” (Surat Al-Kahf)
“And You would have seen the sun, when it rose, declining to the right from their Cave, and when it set, turning away from them to the left, while they lay in the open space in the midst of the Cave. That was from the Signs of Allah: He whom Allah, guides is rightly guided; but he whom Allah leaves to stray, for him you will never find Saintly Guide to the Right Way.” (The Cave, 18:17)
You Are Taking Guidance From Shaitan If Not Rightly Guided
This means He actually said in the reverse, ‘When I don’t want to guide you, you’ll be denied a waliyun murshidun.’ You will not have a protecting guide. So, murshid (authorized spiritual guide) – we’ll go up to the top. What is sifat al-Rasheed (attribute of the Rightly Guided)? When Allah (AJ) want to dress his servant to guide people. So, it means they have no guidance. They be left to themselves. They can’t be at that state and trying to open and listening to every type of whispering.
So, then Allah (AJ) want them to be under tight control of guidance. Don’t listen to anything that comes to you. It’s all from shaitan. The only thing you listen to is what you’ve confirmed with your shaykh. Tells you, ‘Shave yourself’, no. He (satan) tells you, ‘This – take your hat off and be humble person’, No, it’s a lie. Tell you, ‘Take your hijab (veil) off; you can reach more people.’
What We Think is Inspiration Can Be Negative Whisperings
Do you see now on Facebook and all these people who are on Instagram? Making millions of people to follow them, follow them, follow them, put makeup and make themself look like a clown, then put hijab (veil). Then shaitan told them, ‘Take your hijab off.’ Because they followed a munafiq (hypocrite) and now millions of people will fall off the cliff because of these people.
So, it means they’re not under the tarbiyah (discipline) of a guide. The guide would tell them, ‘Your inspiration is completely incorrect; hold tight.’ Don’t pay attention to what’s whispering to you because they’re going to develop you and your ability to understand good and wrong inspiration because this level of ilm ul yaqeen is feeding you.
Seek Haqqiqatul Muhammadiyah ﷺ, the Highest Divinely Knowledges
You’ll be trained now in ayn ul yaqeen (vision of certainty). All of ilm ul yaqeen (knowledge of certainty), ayn ul yaqeen, haqq ul yaqeen (certainty of truth) is the sir (secret). The seen, the seen, the three ‘whoo, whoo’ (Shaykh makes two curves in the air) of the seen from YaSeen is the sir – the secret that Allah (AJ) want to bestow upon insan (mankind). Ilm ul yaqeen, ayn ul yaqeen, haqq ul yaqeen – Allah (AJ) open for you, the sir.
Nurul anwar wa sirratal asrar (the light of every secret and the secret of every light). When Allah (AJ) want to open the servant, raise the servant, then, ‘I want to feed you from ilm ul yaqeen.’ So, it means now the sir is opening to you because the knowledges of the reality, the highest reality Allah (AJ) want to teach is Haqqiqatul Muhammadiya ﷺ (the Muhammadan Reality). So, now these knowledges are feeding. You’re eating in an association, watching a YouTube; you are being fed those haqqaiqs (realities).
Train in Ayn ul Yaqeen to Move to Nafs Mutamainna
This level of Mulhima is that and to Mutamainna (Satisfied Self), to be dressed now. You be trained in ayn al yaqeen – that how to sit, how to contemplate, how to make your connection to negate yourself, to be nothing and asking, ‘Ya Rabbi, open the eyes of my heart.’ It’s not the eyes of the head.
It’s not to sit and keep thinking through your eyes, ‘I can’t see anyone.’ You’re not supposed to see anyone. You’re supposed to believe. This yaqeen (certainty) is not from here (Shaykh points to his head), it’s from here (heart). It’s your faith. Your faith to become so strong, it will begin to make everything to manifest for you; power of kun faya koon.
36:82 – “Innama AmruHu idha Arada shay an, an yaqola lahu kun faya koon.” (Surat YaSeen)
“His Command is when He Wills/Intends a thing, He says to it, “Be,” and it is!” (YaSeen, 36:82)
Allah (AJ) Shows Us the Manners of Making Salaams Through Attahiyat
The faith and the vision of faith they be trained in is that you believe. You’re sitting with the shaykh, you see the shaykh. When you close your eyes, know that he’s present with you. From ibadillahis saliheen, “Assalamu alaika ayyu hanNabi wa Assalamu alaika wa Ibadullahi Saliheen.”
“At-tahiyyatu Lillahi wa-salawatu wa’t-tayyibat, as-salamu ‘alayka ayyuha’n-Nabiyyu wa rahmat-Allahi wa barakatuhu. As-salamu ‘alayna wa ‘alaa ‘ibad-Illah is-saliheen. Ashhadu alla ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuluhu”
“All the best compliments and the prayers and the good things are for Allah. Peace and Allah’s Mercy and Blessings be on you, O Prophet! Peace be on us and on the pious servants of Allah, I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and I also testify that Muhammad is Allah’s servant and His Apostle.”
Allah (AJ) giving you to the adab (manners) of make salaams (last part of prayer) to them and when you’re making salaams, feel them. In attahiyat (sitting on knees during prayer), when you’re stopping and after your prayers, feel the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Negate Yourself to Feel the Presence, Not See It
Don’t ask to see because that’s what’s Sayyidina Musa (as) asked, ‘Ya Rabbi, let me see you.
7:143 – “Wa lamma jaa Musa limeeqatina wa kallamahu Rabbuhu, qala rabbi arinee anzhur ilayka, Qala lan taranee wa lakini onzhur ilal jabali fa inistaqarra makanahu, fasawfa taranee, falamma tajalla Rabbuhu lil jabali ja`alahu, dakkan wa kharra Musa sa`iqan, falamma afaqa qala subhanaka tubtu ilayka wa ana awwalul Mumineen.” (Surat Al-A’raf)
“And when Moses arrived at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, “My Lord, show me [Yourself] that I may look at You.” [Allah] said, “you will not see Me, but look at the mountain; if it should remain in its place, then you will see Me.” But when his Lord manifested His glory on the mountain, He made it as dust, and Moses fell unconscious. And when he awoke/recovered his senses, he said, “Glory be to You! to You I turn in repentance, and I am the first of the believers.” (The Heights. 7:143)
This was tark al-adab, against the adab of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is that ‘Let me see you with my heart. Let me to feel your presence to know that you’re there. I’m not one who’s worthy of seeing you.’ Negate yourself even in your ascension towards the reality. ‘I’m not one who’s worthy of seeing you; I’m nothing, I’m nothing. Just let me to feel your faiz (downpouring emanations) and your lights and your beatific energy.’
Don’t Cripple yourself By Paying Attention to Your Dreams
All along, the shaykh will be teaching you, ‘Negate yourself, negate yourself. Do not listen to your dreams. Do not repeat your dreams. Do not talk about your dreams. That is the world of fascination and what do they call? Khaira? (Voice from the audience: Illusion) Illusions. It’s an imaginary world like Alice in Wonderland. Anything can come to you; negate it, negate it.
What you’re asking from Allah (AJ) is haqqaiq. That if Allah (AJ) needs to send you a signal, your heart is tuned. You close your eyes and whatever’s necessary will appear to you in real time, lifetime teaching you. If you do not develop that skill, then you will be crippled by that and only wait until you sleep to see something. So, this was we’re entering into the oceans from Mulhima to Mutamainna.
Nafs al-Radiyya is to Understand Everything is in Allah’s (AJ) Hands
Now nafs al-Radiyya where Allah (AJ) is rida and satisfied, dressing that servant, blessing that servant. That all their practices are rising in which they’ve been taught their bipolar state to stop. Don’t be excessively happy and don’t be excessively sad. They’re mawt qablil mawt (death of desires before physical death) entering into a state in which their heart is always flat; not excessively happy when something good is happening and not immensely depressed when something bad happens.
This state, this state of Radiyya (Content Self) is that their heart is content with Allah (AJ). Their tawheed (oneness) is firm with Allah (AJ). That they know everything is in Allah’s (AJ) hands. So, who is there to be happy about and who is there to be sad about? It’s just a day and next day, maybe up or next day maybe down. But everything is in Allah’s (AJ) hands.
Accept That What Allah (AJ) Wants for You Will Come to You
So, it’s an entry way into kamil and to perfection because they’re completely surrendering their affair to Allah (AJ). ‘Ya Rabbi, You have to feed me. I don’t know how You’re gonna feed me. It’s up to You to feed me, ya Rabbi. I’m going to do my worshipness.’ Whatever Allah (AJ) wants for you will come to you.
Whatever you want, you’re in conflict with Allah (AJ). How do you know that’s what Allah (AJ) wants? So, these levels are not like normal levels. These levels of taslim and submission, they’re rising. Allah (AJ) teaching them tawheed (oneness). ‘You submit. You rely only upon Me, whatever has been destined for you.’
Nafs al-Mardiyya is to Be Dressed By Allah’s (AJ) Beloved, Sayydina Muhammad ﷺ
Now we’re entering into Mardiyya (Gratified Self) in which Allah (AJ) will dress that soul, that nafs with its love. It’s Divine Love. Allah (AJ) will dress you with what Allah (AJ) loves.
What does Allah (AJ) love? HabibAllah, NabiAllah. Allah (AJ) attached His Divine name to the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. This is a huge reality, not something you can even speak about. La ilaha illAllah is attached to Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.
“La ilaha illallahu Muhammadun Rasulallah”
“There is no deity but Allah, Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
You are Entering a Station of Moral Excellence With Nafs al-Mardiyya
So, then Allah (AJ) in this ocean of love, will begin to teach the servant, ‘What I love.’ Not what you love from dunya (material world), not what you want to have or wish to have. Allah (AJ) want to open for the servant what Allah (AJ) loves. It means this state of ma’rifah (gnosticism) is now opening, the perfection of iman has dressed them. They’re now entering into Maqamul Ihsan (Station of Moral Excellence). When Allah (AJ) would describe the Muhammadan love, Haqqiqatul Muhammadiya ﷺ that, ‘I created everything to be known and I will be known through Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.’
Qala Rasulallahi ﷺ, Qala Allah (AJ): “Kuntu kanzan makhfiyya, fa ahbabtu an a’rafa, fa khalaqtu khalqan, fa ‘arraftahum bi fa ‘arafonee.”
[Hadith al Qudsi – Behar al Anwar, Al ‘Alama al Majlisi, Juz’ 84, Safha 199]
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, that Allah (AJ) said: “I was a hidden Treasure then I desired to be known, so I created a creation to which I made Myself known; then they knew Me.” [Holy Hadith – Bihar al Anwar, by Al ‘Alama al Majlisi, Volume 84, Page 199]
That alone, the immensity of what does that mean? Allah (AJ) wants to be known through what is the greatest, what is the most beatific, what is the most amazing, what is the most perfected. Allah (AJ) doesn’t choose something mediocre to be known by. But the most praised one in all of creation, “My signs and attributes will be known through Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.” Allah (AJ) is as Allah (AJ) has always been. This is just in a reflection.
‘Abd is One Who is Dressed With Allah’s (AJ) Ancient Knowledges
That He’s dressing the servants from these knowledges, that He dressed His servant and send him into the schools of training to be Ahlul Basirah (the people of spiritual vision) so that they been taught with ayn ul yaqeen and not only the ayn. That when Allah (AJ) opens ayn ul yaqeen, it means the ayn of ancient knowledges, Al-Alim (The All Knowing). Allah’s (AJ) sifat al-Alim (attribute of the All Knowing) will begin to dress that servant because they’re entering into the oceans of abd (servant).
‘Abd – ayn, ba, daal. ‘Abd is not a slave. Abd is a servant whom Allah (AJ) has granted alim (knowledge). He’s an ‘aalim (scholar), a real aalim, not one whom is an external scholar. They have not been dressed with Allah’s (AJ) ancient uloom (knowledges). That’s an external person. These are knowledges and realities “Ittaqullah wa alimukumullah.”
2:282 – “…Wat taqollaha, wa yu’allimukumullahu, wallahu bi kulli shayin ‘Aleem.” (Surat Al-Baqarah)
“…And Be conscious of/Fear Allah, And Allah teaches you. And Allah is the All-Knower of everything.” (The Cow, 2:282)
Majestic Tajallis Upon Your Soul Move You From Nafs al-Mardiyya to Nafs al-Safiyya
Where they’re entering into these states and the realities of their soul and that Allah (AJ) is dripping them into the Muhammadan haqqaiqs (realities). Allah (AJ) open for them their ayn, their vision. As a result of their vision and knowledges coming to them, all these Divine knowledges are entering into their soul.
At every moment, Allah (AJ) is dressing with His names and attribute; beatific tajjalis (manifestations), majestic tajjalis upon that servant’s soul. As a result of that, Allah (AJ) is rising them to Mardiyya which is again, a continuation of the haqqaiq (reality) dressing upon them, blessing upon them all the way to nafs al-Safiyya (Pure Self).
Nafs al-Safiyya is a State When Allah (AJ) Makes Your Knowledges True
The nafs al-Safiyya is content in the certainty of their vision in which Allah (AJ) brings to the proximity, their soul in Divinely presence. Hardship and ease are one for them. This is the state of the complete self. Its realities are ayn ul yaqeen and haq ul yaqeen. Oh, this was Radiyya. Safiyya is the complete in ilm ul yaqeen flowing from them. As a result of Allah (AJ) is dressing them from ilm ul yaqeen, dressing them from ayn ul yaqeen, dressing them from haq ul yaqeen. That what you know and when you see it, it’s a truth for you. If you know it and you didn’t spiritually see it, it’s not a truth for you. It’s just a knowledge.
These servants, these souls, Allah (AJ) make their knowledge to be true. When they know this knowledge, Allah (AJ) through their vision, will show them the reality in which they studied it, they contemplated upon it and it became a haq (truth) for them. So, everything in the ocean of truth is dressing them. They understood that everything was from love and muhabbat and Allah (AJ) dressed them from ‘Qul in kuntum tuhibbon Allaha fattabi’oni wa yuhbibkumullahu.’
3:31 – “Qul in kuntum tuhibbon Allaha fattabi’oni, yuhbibkumullahu wa yaghfir lakum dhunobakum wallahu Ghaforur Raheem.” (Surat Ali-Imran)
“Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” (Family of Imran, 3:31)
Your Completed Self Becomes the Essence of the Muhammadan Reality
In this state, their itibah and their following of the reality of the physicality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, their adherence to shari’ah (Divine Law), their adherence to tariqah (spiritual path), their adherence to ma’rifah (gnosticism), their adherence to azimah (determination), their adherence that they went and did everything to the best of their ability, then Allah (AJ) dress them from these haqqaiqs (realities) of Prophet ﷺ. They are now a reflection of that reality and a reflection of the Muhammadan haqqaiq upon their soul and their reality.
These are the final states of perfection in which there is no end. This level is a non-ending level. That this is the complete or the completed self becomes the mirror of the light of the essence of the Muhammadan reality. So, they completely reflect Haqqiqatul Muhammadiya ﷺ. The people of this station are of Divine love and passion. They are the leaders of the religious knowledge. They are lights of gnosticism and ma’rifah and truth. Through the lights of their heart, the heart of those around them are illuminated. Through their remembrance and mercy and blessings descend upon creation.
Ilm ul Yaqeen is Through the Power of Your Soul
This means from this level of dress and from this level of perfection, Allah (AJ) makes a murshid (authorized spiritual guide). They have to have eaten haqqaiqs which means their whole food was realities. They have to have been trained in how to become Ahlul Basirah (people of spiritual vision). That Allah (AJ) perfected their vision from every type of illusion and delusion.
As a result, Allah (AJ) dress them and threw them into the oceans of haqqaiq which means their uloom (knowledge) is true. As a result of them being true, their whole soul governs their physicality. When Allah (AJ) now make them to be the fountains of ilm ul yaqeen. Ilm ul yaqeen is through the power of the soul.
Murshids Can Revive Dead Hearts
If you listen to a professor at school, pick up a kitab (book) from awliya (saints) and talk to you, it goes to your head. It has absolutely no power on your soul. This servant and this category, it’s not that you can read it and read somebody’s journey in life. If you are not from that category and you’re not of that reality where Allah (AJ) says, ‘You’re in My proximity. I dressed you from all of these realities. Now I’ve activated upon you, your lisan (tongue) and that when you talk, it’s an energy.’
It will revive the dead – muhyi al qulub, mahyi ad dhunub (reviver of hearts and the eraser of sins). As your energy come from you, not only it crushes everything false in somebody, but it revives them from dead to life. At that level, Allah (AJ) give guidance.
You Cannot Guide Others in a State of Mutmainna
You can’t come from here [Mutamainna] and say, ‘No, I’m gonna guide people.’ What are you gonna guide people with? This is why they want to train the level of nafs (ego) for people to understand. Unless your nafs has gone into this [Safiyya] up to the Divinely presence, been dressed from ilm ul yaqeen (knowledge of certainty).
There are people who have associations and they have no ilm ul yaqeen. They say, ‘We’re hiding it for later.’ What are you hiding it for later? You can speak nothing but ilm ul yaqeen because your soul is in the presence and all that reflects is from where it is. Can it talk about something else? It’s in the presence of that reality. All it speaks is that reality. You can’t contain it and say, ‘Oh, I’m not going to talk to you about ilm ul yaqeen.’ It means no, you’re not from there [Safiyya]. You’re here [Mutamainna], imitating there. When Allah (AJ) want that servant, they come back down.
When You Reach Nafs al-Safiyya, You are Dressed With Maqamul Ihsan
Now this is directly related to seven verses of Surat Fatiha. That’s why Shaykh Daghestani (Q); Sultanul Awliya said, ‘Surah Fatiha contains all the uloom of Qur’an, all the realities of Qur’an.’ Allah (AJ) put it into the seven verses of Surah Fatiha. This level (Safiyya), when Allah (AJ) perfect that insan (human being), they’re from Maqamul Ihsan (Station of Moral Excellence); perfected souls.
Allah (AJ) make them to be khulafaeh rashidin al Mahdiyeen wa wuzarai kamileen (perfected rightly guided Muhammadan saints and perfected ministers), right? Because they’re inheriting from Allah (AJ), from Prophet ﷺ, from ulul amr (People of Divine Order), from Sahabi (Holy companions of Prophet ﷺ), from Ahlul Bayt (Holy Family of Prophet ﷺ), from awliyaullah (saints) fis samahi wa fil ard (in heavens and in Earth). They’re inheriting to be khulafa (representatives) of what? Sifat al-Rashideen – al-Rashid (Rightly guided).
Souls of Ulul Amr are Constantly Dressed By Tajallis to Become Rashideen, Rightly Guided Ones
That Allah (AJ) said, ‘Now at this level, I’m going to dress you from My names.’ Because if you read those, all those levels, Allah’s (AJ) dressing their soul continuously with names and attributes. Angels come carrying the name and they enter into the soul of that servant at all times. All times, Allah’s (AJ) continuously dressing their soul.
When Allah (AJ) says, ‘I have a face; at every moment, a new tajjali (manifestation).’ Allah (AJ), when He changing His tajjalis for us to understand that illuminate Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. All the souls from ulul amr (saints) that are in that presence are, at every moment, being dressed by tajjalis. They’re not a long time ago and now they haven’t been updated. Their software is updated at every second and every minute. Whatever’s coming from the Divine to the heart of Prophet ﷺ is coming to the ulul amr of this reality.
Rashideen are Dressed With Divinely Senses
So, when Allah (AJ) say, ‘Now you are Rashideen.’ That sifat al-Rashid (attribute of rightly guided) that you have the secret of irshad (guidance). I will dress you from that reality. That your guidance because you’re now inheritor of this hadith, ‘I am the ears in which you hear. I am the eyes in which you see. I’m the breath in which you breathe.’ Isn’t all of this that reality?
“…, wa la yazaalu ‘Abdi yataqarrabu ilayya bin nawafile hatta ahebahu, fa idha ahbabtuhu kunta Sam’ahul ladhi yasma’u behi, wa Basarahul ladhi yubsiru behi, wa Yadahul lati yabTeshu beha, wa Rejlahul lati yamshi beha, wa la in sa alani la a’Teyannahu, …”
“…My servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary acts of worship so that I shall love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him…” Hadith Qudsi (Sahih al-Bukhari, 81:38:2)
Your Tongue Doesn’t Work If You Haven’t Submitted Your Ears First
They inherit. When you inherit from Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, what was the power of a rasul (messenger)? Why Allah (AJ) sent rasuls upon the Earth? (Shaykh points to his tongue) The tongue. Why? If the prophets didn’t talk, what would be the purpose of guidance? ‘Just come follow me. We’re going to go walk around?’ Tongue – but the tongue doesn’t work if this (Shaykh points to his ears) doesn’t submit. What’s the benefit of your tongue if you’re listening to someone else?
So, Allah (AJ) taking the servant all the way up. Say, ‘I make you Rashideen (rightly guided). You inherit this hadith ul qudsi, ‘I will be the hearing in which you hear means you’re going to hear the perfection of My realities and your knowledge.’ We talked before about this is Maqamul Ihsan (Station of Moral Excellence). They see Allah (AJ). They see that Allah (AJ) sees them because that hadith is two levels. Why Prophet ﷺ gave it, ‘Worship as if you see Allah (AJ). If you don’t, know Allah (AJ) sees you.’
Qala Fa akhberni ‘an al Ihsan.
Qala: An Ta’bud Allaha, Ka annaka tarahu, fa in lam takun tarahu fa innahu yarak.
Now, tell me about spiritual excellence (ihsan).”
The Prophet (pbuh) replied, “It is to serve/worship Allah as though you behold/see Him; and if you don’t behold/see him, (know that) He surely sees you.” Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
Rashideen Carry Divine Senses and Yadullah, Divine Hands
Shouldn’t it be the reverse way? That worship as if Allah (AJ) sees you then maybe one day, you’ll see Allah (AJ)? Why Prophet ﷺ gave the reverse way? Because its reality doesn’t open unless you see Allah (AJ). Then when you’re seeing Allah (AJ), they see that Allah’s (AJ) seeing them in everything. So, Rashideen (rightly guided) means Allah (AJ) giving them Divine hearing and these awliya (saints), to their levels. What Allah (AJ) can give is something unimaginable.
Allah (AJ) will give them His seeing, not eyes; seeing that they’ll use here (material world) and they’ll use into the heavens and paradise on Yawm al Qiyama (Day of Judgment). That they have Divine breath and qudra (power). That every breath they’re bringing in is of a Divine power. They have the hands, yadullah, Allah (AJ), “Subhanal ladhee biyadihi Mulk.” Allah (AJ) Subhan, ‘Glory be to the Hands that holds My kingdom.’ Allah (AJ) praising His own Hands upon their hands.
‘Innal ladheena yubayi’oonaka yubayi’on Allah’; ‘Glory be to those servants whom My hand is on their hand.’
48:10 – “Innal ladheena yubayi’oonaka innama yubayi’on Allaha yadullahi fawqa aydeehim, …” (Surat Al-Fath)
“Indeed, those who give Bayah (pledge allegiance) to you, [O Muhammad] – they are actually giving Bayah (pledge allegiance) to Allah. The hand of Allah is over their hands…” (The Victory, 48:10)
Those Who Have Yadullah are Rabbaniyoon, Lordly Souls
It means their hand has a power and a qudra. Their feet and their qadam move in the direction of Allah (AJ). As a result, Allah (AJ) open their mouth to “Kun faya Koon”
36:82 – “Innama AmruHu idha Arada shay an, an yaqola lahu kun faya koon.” (Surat YaSeen)
“His Command is when He Wills/Intends a thing, He says to it, “Be,” and it is!” (YaSeen, 36:82)
They’re Rabbaniyoon (lordly). If they want something, they merely ask and it begins to happen. Why? Because their will is on the will of Allah (AJ), the will of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and the will of all ulul amr.
3:79 – “…wa lakin kono rabbaniyena bima kuntum tu`allimoonal kitaba wabima kuntum tadrusoon.” (Surat Ali ‘Imran)
“…Be Lordly Souls/faithful servants/worshippers of Him, Because (of what) you have taught the Book and you have studied it earnestly.” (Family of Imran, 3:79)
As a result, what comes from their tongue has a power and a qudra. They’re Rashideen. So, their face is open. They’re qamarun (moons), Mahdiyeen (Muhammadan Guides), that they have to be from the Muhammadan reality. Allah (AJ) give them hidayah (guidance) and they inherit that hadiAllah. They inherit from Prophet ﷺ, all the tools necessary to guide a servant back to that reality.
How the 7 Levels of Nafs Correspond to the 7 Verses of Surat Fatiha

Nafs al-Safiyya Takes From Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem (Holy Qur’an, 1:1)
Then Allah (AJ) takes them from that ocean because this is [Safiyya] is “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem”, not here [Ammara]. This [Ammara] is dunya (material world). This is the abode of shaitan (satan). So, what is this [Safiyya]? This is your malakut (heavenly realm) reality. Your nafs (ego) now entered into Divine presence. Divine presence is “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem.”
1:1 – “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem” (Surat Al-Fatiha)
“In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful” (The Opener, 1:1)
Imam Ali (as) Carries the Secret of the Ba and is the Gatekeeper to the City of Knowledge
This maqam, Allah (AJ) opening all uloom because “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem” is the door to every reality. Who’s the keeper of Ulul al Baab (Gatekeepers of the Reality)? (Voice from the audience: Sayyidina Ali (as). Aha! Because this a “medinatul ilm Ali babahu.”
Qala RasulAllah ﷺ, “Ana madinatul ‘ilmin wa ‘Aliyyun baabuha.”
“I am the city of knowledge and ‘Ali (as) is its door/gatekeeper.” Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
This is Safiyya. This is in the presence of the Divine presence which is who’s presence? Presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ to dress the servant of every realities. His teaching is: Imam Ali (as) is the gate, the gate keeper of this reality. Why? He carries the secret of the ba, every reality of ba cause all of Qur’an is in Fatiha, all of Fatiha in Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem, all of Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem in the ba. These are Ulul al Baab. Because these are all the different categories of awliya (saints); not everyone’s a Ulul al Baab, especially if they don’t know it. So, here [Safiyya] is Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem. This is the residence of Ulul al Baab. You have to come to their door to take all these knowledges.
Nafs al-Mardiyya Takes From “Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil ‘aalameen” (Holy Qur’an, 1:2)
Then Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem, this [Mardiyya] is “Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil ‘aalameen.”
1:2 – “Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil ‘aalameen” (Surat Al-Fatiha)
“Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds” (The Opener)
It means what’s that? Mardiyya. “Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil ‘aalameen,” that their whole life they understood its power. Its qudra (power) was in the hamd (praise), either in Mu-hamd or hamd–Allah, right? Their life, their qudra, their power, their entire reality is in praise. They’re ahle zikr (people of Divinely remembrance). They never met one who wasn’t in zikr because how could you be from Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil ‘aalameen? This means Allah (AJ) didn’t dress you Bi siri Surat al-Fatiha (by the secret of Surat Fatiha). You’re somebody who don’t sit in the zikr and you say, ‘No, I’m also a guide’ and you’re not sitting in zikr. So, it means you don’t understand the secret of hamd (praise)?
Nafs al-Radiyya Takes From Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem (Holy Qur’an, 1:3)
So, Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, Ar Rahmanir Raheem [Radiyya].
1:3 – “Ar-Rahmaanir-Raheem” (Surat Al-Fatiha)
“Most Gracious, Most Merciful” (The Opener, 1:3)
Allah (AJ) would dress them from sifat al-Raheem, “Salamun qawlam mir Rabbir Raheem.”
36:58 – “Salamun qawlam mir Rabbir Raheem.” (Surat YaSeen)
“Peace,” a word from a Merciful Lord. (YaSeen, 36:58)
You Can Only Be Dressed From Sifat al-Raheem When You Achieve the Realities of Sifat al-Rahman
If you receive salaams (greeting) from sifat al-Raheem, you have achieved the realities of sifat al-Rahman; the inner has to be pleased with you for the outer to dress you. When Allah want to dress the servant at that level, He’s dressing them from the realities of sifat al-Raheem, sifat al-Rahman. Later, ask who’s sifat al-Raheem, right? “Ya Hassan bi haqqi sifat al-Rahman. Ya Rahman bi haqqi Imam al-Hassan. Ya Raheem bi haqqi Imam ul-Hussain (as).”
Ya Al Hamid bi Haqqi Muhammad ﷺ, Ya Al ‘Ali bi Haqqi ‘Ali (as) , Ya Al Khaliq bi Haqqi Fatima az Zahra (as),Ya Al Rahman bi Haqqi Imam Hassan (as), Ya al Raheem bi Haqqi Imam Hussain (as) .
In the name of Allah the Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
O The Most Praised one for the sake of Sayyidina Muhammad (saws)
O the Most High, for the sake of Imam Ali (as)
O the Creator, for the sake of Fatima Zahra (as)
O the Most Compassionate, for the sake of Imam Hassan (as)
O the Most Merciful, for the sake of Imam Hussain (as)
These names are dressing these realities. These are qurrat al ‘ayn (solace of the eyes) of Prophet ﷺ. Sifat al-Rahman and sifat al-Raheem is the kamil eyes of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. The two eyes in which Allah (AJ) give to govern this entire creation from these realities.
Nafs al-Mutamainna Takes From “Maaliki Yawmid-Deen” (Holy Qur’an, 1:4)
These servants have to be dressed from Ar-Rahmanir Raheem. They have to be dressed from “Maaliki Yawmid-Deen” (Mutamainna) and the sultanate (kingdom) of where they’re approaching.
1:4 – “Maaliki Yawmid-Deen” (Surat Al-Fatiha)
“Master of the Day of Judgment” (The Opener, 1:4)
If they don’t know where they’re approaching, Allah (AJ) will teach them what is the sultanate. You’re entering into My Divinely Kingdom. “Maaliki yawmid-deen.”
Nafs al-Mulhima Takes From “Iyyaaka Na’budu wa Iyyaka Nasta’een” (Holy Qur’an, 1:5)
“Iyyaaka na’budu wa lyyaaka nasta’een” [Mulhima].
﴾إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ﴿٥
1:5 – “Iyyaaka na’budu wa lyyaaka nasta’een” (Surat Al-Fatiha)
“It is You we worship and You we ask for help.” (The Opener, 1:5)
They understood in Mulhima, the worshipness, inspiration, the oceans of reality and then what?
Nafs al-Lawwama Takes From Siratul Mustaqim, the Straight Path (Holy Qur’an, 1:6)
How to lift out of Ammara? “Ihdinas-Siraatal-Mustaqeem” [Lawwama].
1:6 – “Ihdinas-Siraatal-Mustaqeem” (Surat Al-Fatiha)
“Guide us to the straight path” (The Opener, 1:6)
Allah (AJ) taught them, ‘You want to leave Ammara? You have to be on Siratul Mustaqim.’ So, here Allah (AJ) dress the servant by ayatul kareem (the generous verse of Holy Qur’an), dress them. Fatiha is dressing them. It’s alive. When Fatiha dresses their soul, all of Qur’an is dressing them because everything that has to with “Maaliki yawmid-deen”, every verse and ayatul kareem of “Maaliki yawmid-deen” and the malik (king) and sultanate and the sovereignty of Allah (AJ) is in the verse of “Maaliki yawmid-deen.” (Holy Qur’an, 1:4)
It’s like a fountain. All of them come from them. Every verse of hamd (praise) comes from “Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil ‘aalameen.” (Holy Qur’an, 1:2) So, what? “Ihdinas-Siraatal-Mustaqeem” – here, they’ll know that keep your path straight to Allah (AJ). Don’t go left. Don’t go right. So, Allah (AJ) will dress them in Lawwama from Siratul Mustaqim (the Straight Path). That’s why they’re keeping their path towards Islam, trying to keep on the straight and narrow. Do what’s right, what’s wrong.
Nafs al-Ammara Takes From the Seventh Verse of Suratul Fatiha
What’s this one [Ammara]? “Siraatal lazeena an’amta ‘alaihim, ghayril maghdoobi ‘alayhim wa lad-daaalleen.”
1:7 – “Siraatal lazeena an’amta ‘alaihim, ghayril maghdoobi ‘alayhim wa lad-daaalleen” (Surat Al-Fatiha)
“The path of those upon whom You have bestowed Your grace/favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.” (The Opener, 1:7)
That’s why all the zawiyas (religious school) are for the Ammara. The shaykh’s door is here (Shaykh points to Ammara) for people. Because he was here [Safiyya] and he’s been sent by Allah (AJ), ‘Go back down and bring everybody up through Surah Fatiha.’ Everybody thinks they’re here [Safiyya]. No!
Everybody came through the people who went wrong and all the people who angered Allah (AJ). The zawiyas and their dawah (religious propagation) were for the people who went astray and angered Allah (AJ). They brought them all. They bring them all with this power and this qudra of Allah (AJ), then teach them, ‘Keep Siratul Mustaqim.’
The Stations of Radiyya, Mardiyya and Safiyya are Built on Love and Compassion
Who’s Sayyidina Sirat al Mustaqim ﷺ? It’s Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Keep the way and the love of Prophet ﷺ. Then begin to dress them, dress them, dress them, dress them and bless them. Their power is their tongue because they’re the people of hub (love) because all of these maqams (stations). Sorry, I have to use a cane.
These maqams…is the camera even looking there or just looking at me and they don’t know what I’m pointing to or he’s got the image on there? Yahya has the image on the screen. These maqams, these three maqams – Radiyya, Mardiyya, Safiyya – is love, love and compassion. Their taqwa (consciousness) is love. Taqwa is not being angry.
Those From the Oceans of Al-Hayat Carry Immense Love That Can Destroy the Earth
These are people of hub (love) where Allah (AJ) dress them from the ha and the Bahrul Hayat (The Ocean of Ever-Living) and all eternity is dressing them. Allah (AJ) dressing them from the Qur’an. All the knowledges of Qur’an comes to the ba, Bahrul Qudra (Ocean of Power). So, it means they are from the oceans of Al-Hayat (the Ever-Living) and they’re oceans of power, blue oceans of power are the ba.
They carry hub. They carry love, a Divine love. Don’t ever think love is weak. Love can destroy the entire Earth in an instant. It’s the most powerful force. People think anger, fire and hate is strong. It’s not even a drop compared to love and muhabbat of what Allah (AJ) give the servant of love, for water extinguishes everything. So, they can put out any fire. They can put out shaitan. They can do anything Allah (AJ) want them to. They’re ahbab (lovers of Prophet ﷺ) and they’re the people of hub.
Hold Tight to the Rope for Heavenly Knowledges From Our Awliyaullah (Holy Qur’an, 3:103)
As the result of their hub and their love, Allah (AJ) granted what? When He says, ‘You’re Rashideen al-Mahdiyeen and I made you now Kamileen (perfected beings). I giving you a lisan. I’m going to give you a tongue. As a result of your tongue, you’re a habl (rope); hubl, hub with la become a hubl. Your love will have a tongue so that’s what we said. What was risalah (prophecy)? [It] Was the tongue. When Allah (AJ) want to dispatch somebody to be guided, they say, ‘Hold tight to the rope of Allah (AJ).’ What rope is anyone talking about? Anybody see a rope anywhere?
(Surat Ali-Imran)
“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not separate…” (Family of Imran, 3:103)
The rope of Allah (AJ) are the tongue of awliya (saints). That their knowledge come and ‘haak’, right into your heart like a chain. If you keep listening to their knowledges, keep listening to their knowledges, they’re going to pull you up out of all these difficulties into the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Inside the heart of Prophet ﷺ is the Divinely presence and the vision of Allah (AJ).
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen.
The Third Lunar Month Carries Mawlid un Nabi ﷺ and the 27th Chapter, Surah Naml
InshaAllah, from this then in the next few nights for Mawlid un Nabi ﷺ (celebration of the birthday of Prophet ﷺ) is the month of 27 – the month, the third month of the lunar month – Surat al-Naml. The 27 has the secret of the missing “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem. Innahu wa sulaiman wa-innahu bismiAllahir Rahmanir Raheem.”
