أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ٱلْرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ. Madad ya Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem, Ya Habibul ‘Azeem, unzur halana wa ishfa’lana, ‘abidona bi madadikum wa nazarekum.

Atiullah wa atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum. Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.

أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُم… ﴿٥٩﴾‏ …

4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)

“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)

Whatever is Your Fate in Life, Step into It!

‘Please come and bring your grace, your light and your teachings.’ This is in everyday life – is that you call people to da’wah (religious propagation) to realities. It is that you’re busy calling people to paradise. In exchange everyone warned him [Imam al-Hussain (as)] that, ‘Don’t go into that region. They’re treacherous people and they have been treacherous to your descendants.’ Amirul Mu’minin (Leader of the Believers), Imam al-Hussain (as) said, ‘It doesn’t matter, means that the command is coming to my heart from Allah (AJ) that I must go.’ That shows the significance of a wali (saint) and Sultan of Awliya (King of Saints).

The Sultan of awliya, the one whom granted the title Sayyid ush-Shuhada (the master of those who witness). As a result of these actions and an eternal reality upon his soul. The one whom is king for all those who spiritually will see, must be signed by Imam al-Hussain (as). Teaches to us that it was not by accident, it was immense yaqeen and certainty. As a command from Allah (AJ), seeing with his spiritual vision what would take and what events would take place. But still with patience and perseverance and under the command of his Lord he moved and migrated. With his companions, with his family, with his household he entered into known danger. As a result, that shows the immensity of character. That whatever your fate in life you have to step into it. You can’t avoid your fate and fate with faith then they can move mountains. That becomes the reality.

Jealous Hearts can’t Recognize Miracles – Jealousy of People towards Sayyidina Imam Hussain (as)

He ‘alayhis salaam was not tricked into anything, he ‘alayhis salaam was not fooled into anything. You’re talking about a huge awliya, the hugest of what is possible. As a result, it is the immense faith. That whatever Allah (AJ) wants for himself, his family, his loved ones, he moves into that reality. Steps into that reality and the events begin to take place. They show the extreme wickedness and badness of character and the jealousy of people. Jealousy being an immensely dangerous characteristic. That, had it not been for jealousy maybe they would have seen his reality. They would have remembered that this is the holy grandson of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.

Not by distance but they witnessed, they witnessed Imam al-Hassan (as), Imam al-Hussain (as) jumping on the shoulders and being carried by Prophet ﷺ. Continuously around the household of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. What could enter into somebody’s eyes to witness so many realities but yet have a hatred within their heart? That can only come from jealousy. That becomes the immense danger, immense danger of people. When people become jealous of something, they are overtaken. They become overtaken with enmity and jealousy and every satanic character. That allows them to no longer perceive a miracle. Then begin to perceive every evilness and wickedness. This is the danger.

Beware of Jealousy on the Path to Allah (AJ)

This is the danger that struck Hazrat Maryam (as) by people not perceiving the holiness. Not perceiving the miracle. As a result, people become overtaken by enmity, hasad, jealousy. This is why then Prophet ﷺ brought for us: be careful with jealousy. Be careful with people’s hasad (jealousy), be careful with enmity. That people whom on a path of righteousness they must control their characteristics. Not to become jealous of people, envious of people, have enmity within their heart. If so these become the dangerous signs of satanic influence and then all the bad characters begin to come.

Everybody has a Yazid within their heart. That wants to come against Malik al Haqq – the King of Truth, the religion of truth and the truth of the heavens. All of that is related to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. If they don’t put their Yazid down and they don’t put their shaitan (satan) down. They don’t put their jealousy and enmity down then the worst of them will overtake. The worst of actions will begin upon people.

Everywhere is Karbala for Righteous People

That’s why we say that everywhere is Karbala. Everywhere pious people, good people, righteous people are attacked. Because jealous people and eyes of enmity and eyes of jealousy overtake people. Every day is ‘Ashura for people harm them, backbite them, slander them. The slandering and backbiting of someone is as if you’ve stabbed them a hundred times for a hundred days. Because the backbiting keeps spreading. As a result, as if everybody coming to that body and stabbing them. Stabbing once would be better than being stabbed a hundred times for a hundred days. This is the extent of how bad, bad character is.

Seeking the Intercession of Pious Souls Through Good Character

We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us from the immensities of these blessings. That we gain the holy gaze and Divinely Grace because of our coming to commemorate this holy day. All of its immense openings and all of its immense sacrifice. That through our acts and our giving of food and water and all the prayers and actions that are pleasing to Allah (AJ). We bring all upon this table asking Allah (AJ) that to grant His satisfaction. That we gain the nazar (gaze) of these holy souls and Imam al-Hussain (as) to be happy with us. To intercede for us and shuhada e karbala ‘alayhim as salaam.

All of them to be happy for us, intercede for us and take our actions and remember us in a much holier association in Divinely Presence. In which they pray for us, our families and our communities. That Allah (AJ) dress us with good character and to be exemplars in faith through days of difficulty. To hold the way of muhabbat and love. To have the sweetness upon the tongue and in the heart. In which we achieve: where the believer is a believer only when other believers are safe from that person’s hands and tongues.

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنّهُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: ‏ “‏ اَلْمُسْلِمُ مَنْ سَلِمَ اَلنَّاسُ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُ مَنْ أَمِنَهُ النَّاسُ عَلَى دِمَائِهِمْ وَأَمْوَالِهِمْ ‏”‏ ‏.‏

‘An Abi Hurairah (ra), ‘an Rasulillahi ﷺ qala: “Al Muslimu man salema annaasu min lesanehi wa yadehi wal Muminu man amenahun naasu ‘ala demayehim wa amwalehim.”

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the people are safe, and the believer is the one from whom the people’s lives and wealth are safe.”

We pray that Allah (AJ) give us this character in which our hands and tongues to be sweet. To have characteristics of paradise people.
