5 Energy Levels of the Heart and the Struggles of Muharram
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
The Levels of the Heart is About the House of Allah (AJ)
Alhamdulillah, that every Muharram and every Ashura has an opening. When we have the love of Allah (AJ), when Allah (AJ) inspire within our hearts that, ‘Make your heart My home so that My Divinely lights can reside within your heart.’ That becomes a heart filled with the light of the prophets, the angels, the saints, the companions, the Ahlul Bayt (holy companions of Prophet ﷺ) and family of the holy Prophet ﷺ.
It becomes the house in which all that God Almighty, Allah (AJ) loves, is in that house. So, our life is to study that house. In, ‘The Levels of the Heart,’ the book from, ‘Levels of the Heart’…where’s that book, shaykh? You give me the book [Shaykh asks audience]. InshaAllah, bismillah, this is the book, ‘Levels of the Heart’ and it’s about the house of Allah (AJ) because it’s not about your heart. It’s not about cardiology. This is about Allah’s (AJ) house, “Qalb al mu’min baitullah.’
Qala Rasulallahi ﷺ, Qala Allah (AJ): “ “Qalb al mu’min baytur rabb.” [Hadith al Qudsi]
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said that Allah (AJ) said: “The heart of the believer is the House of the Lord.” (Holy Hadith)
Allah (AJ) Honoured the Children of Adam (as) (Holy Qur’an, 17:70)
This is about the house of Allah (AJ) and the honour in which He gave our creation. He didn’t say, ‘The monkey’s heart is My house.’ [He] Didn’t say ‘Giraffe’s heart is My house.’ He said, ‘I have honoured your creation.’
17:70 – “Wa laqad karramna bani adama…” (Surat Al-Isra)
“And We have certainly honored the children of Adam…” (The Night Journey, 17:70)
The immensity of the honour is not something that we can understand, nor will we ever understand what’s…what Allah’s (AJ) Grace and Majesty has granted for us. But that our creation can be the house of God. The kingdom of God can enter into the heart.
Be With the Best of Company to Make Your Heart Where Allah (AJ) Resides
All that God asks, Allah (AJ) asks is, ‘Get everything else out. Vacate them. Throw it all out so that nothing resides within that heart except My Divinely Presence. When My Divinely Presence comes…’ Allah (AJ) then begins to clarify that, ‘My love, if I’m going to enter into your heart and you’re going to make your heart for Me, I’m with nabiyeen, siddiqeen, shuhadayi was saliheen. They are the best of those to keep company.’
4:69 – “Wa man yuti’ Allaha war Rasola faolayeka ma’al ladheena an’ama Allahu ‘alayhim minan Nabiyeena, was Siddiqeena, wash Shuhadayi, was Saliheena wa hasuna olayeka rafeeqan.” (Surat An-Nisa)
“And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger (pbuh) are in the company of those on whom Allah has bestowed His Favours/Blessings – of the Prophets, the sincere Truthful, the Martyrs/Witnesses to the truth (who testify), and the Righteous, and excellent are those as companions.” (The Women, 4:69)
Purify Your Heart to Make It a House of Allah (AJ)
So, then Allah (AJ) will teach us about the prophets. Siddiqeen, the truthful servants, truthful with their deeds and their actions. Shuhada, those whom have martyred, died in the way of Allah (AJ) or mushahadah – that their character died and they witness and they death before their death. Allah (AJ), ‘As if they’re walking the Earth, but they died. They are the paradise people on this Earth.’ Saliheen – righteous servants. This category is the reality of the Ka’bah and the four corners of the Ka’bah, the four valves of the heart.
Allah (AJ) is then inspiring within our life that, ‘Make your heart my home.’ So, then our life is about how to clean the heart, purify the heart and take everything out of the heart other than Allah (AJ).
2:125 – “…An Tahhir baytee liTayifeena, wal ‘Aakifeena, wa ruka’is sujood.” (Surat Al-Baqarah)
“…Purify/Sanctify My House for those who perform tawwaf (circumambulation) and those who seclude themselves for devotion, and bow and prostrate [in prayer].” (The Cow, 2:125)
Sayyidina Adam (as) has Authority of the Yellow Station of the Qalb
Muharram is the opening of every year’s pilgrimage. That we are in a perpetual path, a circle. Every time we step and move and it opens, it has an ending. So, every beginning because life is a circle. Every beginning has an ending. So, we begin in Muharram and we end on Dhul Hajj. But then it doesn’t end because it’s a continuous path of growth and spiritual realities. As soon as one ending, the next one is opening. One step is out and you’re already into the next journey and the next reality that Allah (AJ) want to dress.
So, then every Ashura for one whom is trying to purify themselves, perfect themselves, is going to be based on these teachings of the lataif (subtle energy points) of the qalb (heart). So, the qalb is under the authority of Sayyidina Adam (as). This has to do with the openings of knowledge. That when Allah (AJ) gives for us the example of the greatness of this creation, ”Allama Asma a kullaha.” That, ‘We have taught Sayyidina Adam (as) everything, all knowledges all realities.’
2:31 – “Wa ‘allama Adamal Asma a kullaha…” (Surat Al-Baqarah)
“And He taught Adam the names of all things…” (The Cow, 2:31)
Allah (AJ) is a Hidden Treasure Wanting to Be Known
Because later we find out on this journey, that soul that Allah (AJ) gave is from the source of all treasures. So, Allah (AJ) wanted to be known by this creation and put the holiest of holy realities into that creation. As a result, all of creation would begin to understand who they are and where they come from.
Qala Rasulallahi ﷺ, Qala Allah (AJ): “Kuntu kanzan makhfiyya, fa ahbabtu an a’rafa, fa khalaqtu khalqan, fa ‘arraftahum bi fa ‘arafonee.” [Hadith al Qudsi – Behar al Anwar, Al ‘Alama al Majlisi, Juz’ 84, Safha 199]
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, that Allah (AJ) said: “I was a hidden Treasure then I desired to be known, so I created a creation to which I made Myself known; then they knew Me.” [Holy Hadith – Bihar al Anwar, by Al ‘Alama al Majlisi, Volume 84, Page 199]
So, that the lataif of the qalb and the opening means then on the Ashura, there must be an opening from the realities of Sayyidina Adam (as). What opened for the prophet of Allah (AJ) opens for all of creation because each prophet is a representation of our eternal journey.
Seek Knowledge Even If You Must Go to China
That’s why Islam is the fulfillment of the covenant of Allah (AJ). That you can’t go to Islam and then back into Christianity. You cannot go from Islam into Judaism as if you cut your finger and you have incompleted your reality and you’ve blocked yourself from Allah’s (AJ) Divinely Presence. That’s why it’s called “muqtat.” They’ve cut themself from Allah (AJ). Our life is about expanding our reality, ‘Seek knowledge even if you have to go to Cheen.’
“Uthlubul ‘ilma walaw fis Seen.”
“Seek knowledge even (if it is) in China.” Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
It means the expansion of knowledge is the growth of the heart, is the love of the heart, expanding love and ishq for the heart; not to take and cut one part of your heart out and say, ‘Now I’m this.’
We Came From Paradise to This Earth, Like Sayyidina Adam (as)
So, that’s why you can never go from the highest-down. But you can sure go from down-up. So, the lataif (subtle energy points) of the qalb (heart), there has to be an Ashura in which Allah (AJ) grants what He granted to Sayyidina Adam (as). That, ‘I cast you onto this Earth. I granted you forgiveness.’ We were all in that reality. We all came from paradise. Whatever happened in that first sin, throw us all in a destiny to come to Earth.
2:37 – “ Fatalaqqaa Adamo mir Rabbihi Kalimaatin fataaba ‘alayhi; innahu Huwat Tawwaabur Raheem” (Surat Al Baqarah)
“Then Adam received from his Lord [some] words, and He turned towards him (accepted his repentance). Indeed, it is He who Accepts repentance, the most Merciful.” (The Cow 2:37)
Every Opening of Muharram is Our Time to Repent
So, then Allah (AJ), for every insan (human being) has a moment in which their tawbah (repentance) must be accepted. They must be making, not Allah (AJ) has to accept it, but we have to make a tawbah that Allah (AJ), inshaAllah, accept it. So, we have to. When we become in the way of knowing Allah (AJ) said, ‘You must, like your forefather, Sayyidina Adam (as). Repent to Me for the sins of your reality, sins of your being, sins of your father and your forefathers.’
Make a life of istighfar (seeking forgiveness) and maghfirah (forgiveness). That’s why we say every opening of Muharram is our time to repent. That, ‘Ya Rabbi, maybe this is the year that my repentance is sincere and that You accept it from me.’ Allah (AJ) knows shaitan (satan) is attacking us. He knows this is not an easy football game where we just come get the ball and run to the end. He knows how much he’s [shaitan] attacking. But our job is to ask for forgiveness. So, Sayyidina Adam (as) comes to our life and teaches us, ‘Ask and repent! Repent for all that we did wrong so that Allah (AJ) grant a forgiveness and that your journey begins.’
Sayyidina Adam (as) Made Du’as By Name of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and His Holy Family
Then awliya (saints) come and begin to teach that, ‘What Sayyidina Adam (as) knew from paradise that opened his ability to ask and make du’as (supplications) that would be accepted?’ Said,‘Ya Hamidu bi Haqqi Muhammad ﷺ. O the Most Praise worthy, by the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’
Because you don’t know the reality but you’re asking Allah (AJ), ‘I’m asking by the sake of that reality which I don’t know it, but You know it. By the reality, grant to me, Ya Rabbi bi Hamidu…Ya Hamidu bi Haqqi Muhammad ﷺ.’ ‘Ya ‘Aliyun – O Allah (AJ), You are the Most High. By the secret that you gave to Imam Ali (as), grant me my forgiveness. Ya Allah (AJ), Ya Rabbi Ya Allahu al Khaliq bi Haqqi Fatimatuz Zahra (as) – O Allah (AJ) Who You are The Creator and the secret of creation that You gave to Prophet ﷺ, it’s secret and that Prophet ﷺ gave to the Sayyidatina Fatimatuz Zahra (as).’
”Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Ya Hamidu bi Haqqi Muhammad ﷺ, Ya ‘Aliyu be Haqqi ‘Ali (as), Ya Khaliqu bi Haqqi Fatimatuz Zahra (as), Ya Rahmanu bi Haqqi Hassan (as), Ya Raheemu bi Haqqi Hussain (as).”
“In the name of Allah, the Most compassionate, the Most Merciful
O’ the Praiseworthy for the sake of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), O’ the Most High for the sake of Imam ‘Ali (as), O’ the Creator for the sake of Fatima Zahra (as), O’ the Most Compassionate for the sake of Imam Hassan (as), O’ the Most Merciful for the sake of Imam Hussain (as).”
Prophet ﷺ Gave Us an Inheritance Through Al-Batul Sayyidatina Fatima az-Zahra (as)
Because every womb and everything that brings a creation has a secret within it. It has no power itself. Allah (AJ) gave the secret for a spider, for a caterpillar, for everything in creation all the way to insan (mankind). That their womb bring creation and that their womb bring these realities. It’s with an ilm – it’s with a knowledge. Who’s the owner of all knowledges? It’s Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and gave us an inheritance to his beloved daughter (as).
So, we say, ‘Al-Batul’ (highest station of purity) means the purity of the soul that’s not comprehensible. We cannot comprehend how pure that soul is, but that that soul carries the secret of that reality. So, then we say, ‘Ya Rahman bi Haqqil Imam al-Hassan (as) – Ya Rabbi by the power of Your sifat ar-Rahman (attribute of The Most Compassionate) that governs the whole of the manifest creation, grant me Your forgiveness.’ ‘Ya Raheem bi Haqqil Imam al-Hussain (as), ya Rabbi, grant me Your forgiveness.’
Allah’s (AJ) Forgiveness Grants Us to Knowing Our Realities
By those words, Allah (AJ) told Sayyidina Adam (as), ‘Had You asked anything by using those words, I would have forgiven you.’ Then ayatul kareem (the generous verse of Holy Qur’an) of what Sayyidina Adam (as) began to recite and Allah (AJ) granted forgiveness. But it had to be a key. It was by that key that the ayahs (verses) began to open and the du’as (supplications) were beginning to be accepted. So, it means we have an Ashura in which we’re continuously that year asking for forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness. That Ashura comes and Allah (AJ) grant maghfirah.
That, ‘Like your forefather, I will forgive you. I will forgive you and as a result of My forgiveness, I will grant you knowledges.’ Allah’s (AJ) forgiveness is two-sided. When Allah (AJ) forgives you, it’s just not, ‘Okay, I forgive you, left you alone.’ When Allah (AJ), if He grants forgiveness, it means, ‘Now you have My attention and I’m going to grant you everything.’ Because Allah’s (AJ) forgiveness is that, ‘I’m going to grant you who you really are, who you should have been. The knowledges that I had bestowed upon your soul and your forefathers and forefathers before them, all those realities that are yours as an inheritance from the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’
Sayyidina Adam (as) Carries the Maghfirah for Creation
Allah’s (AJ) forgiveness is the door of opening. It’s not just you tell a friend, ‘I forgive you.’ Allah (AJ) forgiveness is that, ‘I’m going to now open for you because you’ve been forgiven.’ That’s why Sayyidina Adam (as) then carries the maghfirah, the forgiveness and the maqam (station) of knowledges. “Adama Asma a kullaha” that, ‘I gave all these knowledges that the angels were astonished by these knowledges.’ That’s why that lataif (subtle energy points) and that reality of Muharram is knowledge.
2:31-32 – “Wa ‘allama Adamal Asma a kullaha, thumma ‘aradahum ‘alal Malaikati faqala anbioonee bi asma i haola e in kuntum sadiqeen.(31) Qalo subhanaka la ‘ilma lana illa ma ‘allamtana, innaka antal ‘Aleemul Hakeem. (32)” (Surat Al-Baqarah)
“And He taught Adam the names – all of them. Then He showed them to the angels and said, “Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful. (31) They said, “Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise.” (The Cow, 2:31-32)
Shaykhs That Don’t Teach are Starving Their Students
Then when we study the lataif (subtle energy points), you go from this Qalb of knowledge. The next lataif is the Sir (secret) and it’s red for struggling. So, it means that when Allah (AJ) forgives us, we’re on a path of knowledge. So, tariqah (spiritual path) has to have the teachings and the knowledge. Shaykhs that don’t teach, they are starving their students as if a father who doesn’t feed his children. There is not allowed, there never been a shaykh in Naqshbandiya that doesn’t teach.
It’s as if you go to someone’s home and the father is starving his children. He says, ‘No, I want to discipline them and not feed my children.’ That’s abuse. Allah (AJ) doesn’t allow abuse. So, that you have to been fed by Divinely knowledges. That’s the only najat (salvation), this the only salvation. The knowledge is a power to the soul that sets us free. It takes us from the bad character to the Divinely character.
Sayyidina Nuh (as) has Authority at the Red Station of Sir
So, these are the realities that have to be endowed within the shaykh. That their heart has to be open and they can’t be open and say, ‘We don’t talk knowledges. It’s bad for you.’ It’s, ‘I’m not feeding you’ is what I’m saying. So, they have to be fed. A shaykh who doesn’t feed, his children are going somewhere else to eat. You see now, their turbans are in different associations just to get fed something which is horrible. If you have it, you’re obliged to give it because this is just the station of the Qalb (heart) in which Allah (AJ) say, ‘I granted you forgiveness and I gave you these uloom and these knowledges. They are food for your reality and power for your soul.’
When Allah (AJ) want to grant at the station of the Sir, their Muharram and the reality of Sayyidina Nuh (as), and Sayyidina Nuh (as), Noah (as), was that he built a ship in the midst of drought and no water and abused by people. This ship had 124,000 plaques which were ordained.
How Sayyidina Nuh (as) Acquired Wood for the Ark
Mawlana Shaykh (Q) has beautiful stories in ‘Tazkiratul…’ in ‘The Lore of Lights’ that how even Sayyidina Nuh (as) got these pieces of wood and how he came across these giants. That they were eating and they couldn’t get full from the food. Allah (AJ) said, ‘Go to them and teach them the reality of “Bismillahir rahmanir raheem.”
1:1 – “Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem.” (Surat Al-Fatiha)
“In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.” (The Opener, 1:1)
Then he went to the giants of that region and said that, ‘Please, I need these trees for what God has ordered for me. I’m going to teach you something so that when you eat, you’ll be full’ because they were voracious appetite that they couldn’t get full. It was like a torture for them. He taught them. They said, ‘Teach us and we’ll do whatever you want.’ He taught them the reality of, “Bismillahir rahmanir raheem.” As a result, when they would say, ‘Bismillahir rahmanir raheem’ and eat, they were full.
Sayyidina Nuh’s (as) Ship Symbolizes Our Soul Struggling With the Station of Faith
They [the giants] brought the trees – huge trees from the jungles – tore them down and brought them down for him. 124,000 and 124,000 each had to have the names of the prophets upon them. The headquarters of it, the steering council, had to have Muhammad ﷺ, Fatima (as), Ali (as), Hassan (as) and Hussain (as). That was the steering council and the guidance for that ship.
These are the realities from Sayyidina Nuh (as). This is the Muharram in which Allah (AJ) says, ‘Then you have to be under the tajalli (manifestation) of Sayyidina Nuh (as) to understand that if I’ve granted you forgiveness and granted you knowledges, you have to have a soul that’s struggling. You have to now take your tazkiyah (purification) and your inner journey to build your soul.’ Because Sayyidina Nuh’s (as) ship, Noah’s (as) ship was the symbolic symbol of our soul and the station of faith which is struggling.
Don’t Leave Your Belief By Compromising It
Faith is never easy and never take the easy door. Everything in faith is, ‘Oh, if I say this, they’re going to get upset. If I do this, they’re going to not like me. If I keep my sunnah (traditions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ), they’re all going to run away from me.’ Better they all run away from you than you leave your belief because Sayyidina Nuh (as) is inspiring. Who’s the Sahabi (Holy companions of Prophet ﷺ) that inherits that reality? Sayyidina Umar Farooq (as). “Qul jaa alhaqq.”
17:81 – “Wa qul jaa alhaqqu wa zahaqal baatil, innal batila kana zahoqa.” (Surat Al-Isra)
“And say, Truth has come, and falsehood has perished. Indeed falsehood, [by its nature], is ever perishing/bound to perish.” (The Night Journey, 17:81)
Stand for Truth Like Hazrat Umar (as)
‘Stand for truth! What are not…are we not on truth? Why are we hiding?’ Prophet ﷺ so much loved the character, said, ‘If there was a prophet after me, it would have been Hazrat Umar (as).’ Because they’re inheriting, the Sahabi (Holy Companions) are also inheriting from these levels of the realities of the Muhammadan haqqaiq (realities) and the Muhammadan.
‘An ‘Uqbata bin ‘Aamirin qala sami’tu Rasulullahi (saws) yaqulo:”Law kana ba’di nabiyun lakana ‘Umara bin al khattab (as).”
Sayyidina ‘Uqaba son of ‘Aamir said that I heard that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “If there would be a Prophet after me, it would have been ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab (pbuh).” [Strong hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad, Al Tibrani, and it’s recorded in Sahih Tirmidhi]
Your Practices Build Your Soul and Faith
Where Sayyidina Nuh (as) comes to us and says that, ‘That one Muharram has to open for you. That you struggled for your faith and Allah (AJ) now going to open the lights of your faith. “Wa safinatun najat,” ‘The Ship of Safety.’ That, it took and departed and said, ‘Ya Rabbi, I’m about to now take a step into the oceans of tribulation and difficulty.’ They step into that difficulty and from every direction, waves are coming and smashing as if to take their ship and smash it onto the shore.
But Allah’s (AJ), ‘Fear not. I’m with you. We are with you. Those whom you love, We are with you!’ No matter how difficult this ocean becomes, this ship knows how to get back to Allah (AJ). Then our test is going to be our faith. It’s working on the faith and working on the light and our practices have to be based on the practices of light. What’s building your soul and your faith? It’s your light practices. That which builds the love and the ishq and the good character within the heart.
Allah (AJ) Grants Your Ship to Land in the Divinely Light Kingdom on Ashura
It has to traverse through oceans of difficulty until Allah (AJ), on Ashura, granted your ship to land. When the ship lands, it went from the mulk (earthly realm) of dunya (material world) and entered into Allah’s (AJ) Divinely light kingdom and malakut (heavenly realm). Roh sebah, the angel that comes and carries you from your dunya (material world) reality and plants your feet onto your akhirah (hereafter) reality. It means the opening of your soul, the opening of the lights of your soul. That, Allah (AJ) granted your Ashura to be the reality of your soul.
That, ‘We accepted your struggle.’ This is a continuous struggle in life. That, ‘We accepted your struggle.’ As a result, Allah (AJ) is opening the lights of the soul for that Ashura. Then we go down to the Sir and the workings of the world of light. That Allah (AJ) granted you to be from malakut (heavenly realm). Now Sayyidina Musa (as) and Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) begin to inspire your next year’s journey.
Sayyidina Musa (as) and Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) Hold the Station of Sirr e Sir
It could be years in between each if the student is not struggling. But when they’re struggling and they’re understanding and Sayyidina Nuh (as) is inspiring within their heart that, ‘Your life is struggle,’ it’s not supposed to be easy. Somebody, you know, doesn’t like this. That’s the…you’re not supposed to compromise your faith because of that! You have to make Allah (AJ) happy.’
That becomes the difficulty in life is how to make Allah (AJ) happy and continue with my path, balance everything, trying to make everybody to be content, but most content has to be Allah (AJ), inshaAllah. Sirr e Sir (secret of the secret) begin to open ‘Alam al-Mithal in the world of light and Sayyidina Ibrahim, Sayyidina Musa (as) come and Sayyidina Musa (as) begins to teach that, ‘The ocean of this difficulty parted and Allah (AJ) granted me to land onto the promised land.’
26:63-65 – “Fa awhayna ila Mosa anidrib bi’asaka albahra, fanfalaqa fakana kullu firqin kattawdil ‘aZheem. (63) Wa azlafna thamma al akhareen. (64) Wa anjayna Mosa wa man ma’ahu ajma’een.” (65) (Surat Ash-Shu’ara)
“Then We inspired to Moses, “Strike with your staff the sea,” and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain. (63) And We advanced thereto the pursuers. (64) And We saved Moses and those with him, all together. (65) ” (The Poets, 26:63-65)
We Promised to Keep the Muhammadan Way By Loving Prophet ﷺ More Than Ourselves
For us, our promised land and the reality of who we are is inspired within our heart. That you promised Allah (AJ) what you promised. You promised to be of support to Allah (AJ). You promised to keep the Muhammadan Way. You promised that from what Allah (AJ) gave to you, you would be using in the way of Allah (AJ). That Allah (AJ) and Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ wouldn’t be second and third, but they would be first because these are the oceans of iman and faith where Prophet ﷺ described, ‘You have to love me more than you love yourself.’
‘An Anas ibn Malik (ra) qala, qala Rasulullahi ﷺ “La yuminu ahadukum hatta akona ahabba ilayhi min walidihi wa waladihi wan nasi ajma’yeen.” [Sahih Muslim, Hadith 44, wa Al Bukhari, Kitabul Iman, Hadith 15]
Narrated by Anas son of Malik (ra) that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children, and all mankind.” [Authentic by Muslim, Hadith 44 & by Al Bukhari, Book of Faith, Hadith 15]
Sayyidina Musa (as) Left Dunya to Struggle Towards Allah (AJ)
So, then everything about Sayyidina Musa (as) begin to inspire that, ‘You left Fir’aun (Pharoah). You left this dunya (material world) and you’re running and struggling towards Allah (AJ) and Allah (AJ) parted everything. The angels came, picked you and took you to the shore of safety, into the Heavenly Kingdom. Now you’re a servant who roams the Heavenly Kingdom.’ As a result, what? ‘You’re one whom talks to the Divinely Presence.’
Because this sifat (attribute) of Sayyidina Musa (as) is the realities of hearing; the one whom Allah (AJ) talks to, but we’re not of that level that Allah (AJ) talk to us, but Allah (AJ) allow your soul to talk to you. That with your training and your tafakkur (contemplation), the inspirations of your soul begin to inspire you.
Nabi Musa (as) Left Ignorance to Be Brought to the Burning Bush
So, it means every Ashura has an immense opening. As a result of this maqam (station) because the testing doesn’t mean it got easier. Each of the prophets are now showing you, ‘No, no, no, no, if you want to enter into this station of the fire – Divinely Fire…’ because Sayyidina Musa (as), all of those simple, quick analogies of Sayyidina Musa (as) was what? The moving of the river, parting of the sea, it means left all the ignorance, ran from Fir’aun (pharoah), entered onto the promised land. Now you’re working from paradise realities.
As a result, what Allah (AJ) bring for you? A burning bush, ‘Now enter into Divinely Presence.’
28:30 – “Falammaaa ataahaa noodiya min shaati’il waadil aimani fil buq’atil muubaarakati minash shajarati ai yaa Moosaaa inneee Anal laahu Rabbul ‘aalameen.” (Surat Al-Qasas)
“But when he came to it (fire), he was called from the right side of the valley in a blessed spot – from the tree, “O Moses, indeed I am Allah, Lord of the worlds.” (The Stories, 28:30)
Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) Teaches Every Fire is Coming Your Way
All the struggles and the difficulties of that reality of entering into that Divinely Presence is not easy. So, what Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) then comes and inspires? The two are at the same maqam (station), at the same lataif [Sayyidina Musa (as) and Sayyidina Ibrahim (as)]. Why the Sirr e Sir in the hands of Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) too? Because he’s teaching that, ‘If Allah (AJ) opened for you the world of light, that know that every type of fire is coming your direction! Every type of fire is coming your direction.’
You didn’t arrive where everyone says ‘Ahlan wa sahlan (welcome and be at ease)!’ Give you popcorn, give you candy, mashallah, give you two kisses on the cheek that you came in. Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) is, ‘Oh! Be careful because when Allah (AJ) says ‘You’re a heavenly soul,’ you’re working. You’re walking on a satanic kingdom of this dunya. So, as a result, Nimrod is chasing you!’ Nimrod is throwing every fire at you, every difficulty at you to stop you from walking this Earth.
Our Living and Dying are for Allah (AJ), Lord of the Worlds (Holy Qur’an, 6:162)
It means you’re going to be under intense training, intense difficulty. Every fire is coming your way. Why are you complaining then? ‘This difficult, that difficult. I feel like I’m on fire. I feel like everyone’s attacking me.’ Oh, of course everyone’s attacking you. Allah (AJ) told all His fir’auns to throw fire at you. Everything, everything doesn’t work your way. “Qul inna salati wa nusuki wa mahyaya wa mamati lillahi Rabbil ‘Aalamin.”
6:162 – “Qul inna salati wa nusuki wa mahyaya wa mamati lillahi Rabbil ‘Aalamin.” (Surat Al-An’am)
Say, “Indeed, my prayer, my services of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds..” (The Cattle, 6:162)
Will You Allow Your Testing to Make or Break You?
‘We’re going to test you with your lives.’ It means you’re not going to have everything that makes everything easy. ‘We’re going to test you with your family and your children where they won’t believe in you, won’t listen to you. We’re going to test you with everything around you’ like a Nimrod throwing fire at you. Either these fires will hit you and ignite you and you become narani (fiery) and you leave that reality because if the…it should affect you, it then determines the course of your destiny.
What was it Darth Vader said or Yoda said in one of them? They were quoting the same thing. It means if you take a path of darkness or you look towards the darkness, it then determines your entire direction. So, when testing comes, this is where then it can make you and break you. If it breaks you, it means the testing came so much, you became angered and the fire actually hit you. It wasn’t, “Qulna ya naaru, kunee Bardan wa Salaman…”
(Surat Al-Anbiya)
“We said, O fire, be cool and Peaceful upon Abraham.” (The Prophets, 21:69)
Allah (AJ) Doesn’t Place a Burden on Us More Than We Can Bear (Holy Qur’an, 2:286)
It was just you’re “Naaru.” You became narani and fiery as a result of all the difficulties that Allah (AJ) is sending.
(Surat Al-Baqarah)
“Allah Doesn’t place a burden on a soul/body greater than it can bear. It gets every reward that it has earned, and it suffers for every ill/evil that it has earns. (Pray:) Our Lord! Do not punish us if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! and lay not on us a burden Like that which you laid on those before us; Our Lord! and lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. And pardon us, and forgive all our sins, and have mercy on us. You are our master and Protector; Give us victory over those who stand against faith [the unbelievers within].” (286) (The Cow, 2:285-286)
Your Training Comes Through in Every Flame Thrown at You
That, Allah (AJ) promises, ‘I’m not testing you more than you can handle, you just don’t know what you can handle.’ Because the world make you like fu-fu. They give the cotton slipper and they ‘Bong, bong, bong.’ Look at the people. They’re dying and being ripped to pieces. Paradise is not cheap. So, Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) is warning, ‘Oh, this maqam (station), these realities that Allah (AJ) granted on this Muharram to open for you means now every fire is coming in your direction. Every test is coming in your direction. Allah (AJ) want to see, ‘Are you of a heavenly nature and have good character?’
That these fires don’t ignite you, but your entire practice, your wudu (ablution) and everything about you, “Qulna ya naaru, kunee Bardan wa Salaman.” (Holy Qur’an, 21:69) That whatever flame that thrown, Allah (AJ) for that servant in training. They’re trained on how to make it cool and peaceful. They’re entertained by these realities because they have the ability to take that fire and make it cool.
Allah (AJ) Cools the Fire and Provides Peace After Your Testing
Then Sayyidina Isa (as) comes. ‘My Father who is in heaven is the king and sultan of all creation.’ That Sayyidina Isa (as) – Ruhullah, Ruh ul Quddus – this immense reality is now coming that they’re going to be a Muharram in which Allah (AJ), with all this fire and all these attacks and everything that coming to you, Allah (AJ) said, ‘Bas – enough! I’m going to raise you now to My Presence.’
There’s going to be a rising where that testing came so much to their physicality, testing came so much to their lives and everything around them, Allah (AJ) granted, “Qulna ya naaru, kunee Bardan wa Salaman.” ‘Go say to the fire: be cool and peaceful.’
(Surat Al-Anbiya)
“We said, O fire, be cool and Peaceful upon Abraham.” (The Prophets, 21:69)
Sayyidina Isa (as) Teaches Us How to Rise From Immense Testing
That Ruhullah, Sayyidina Isa (as) comes, ‘I’m going to teach you how to rise now. That, your body and your soul, they’re not connected.’ Every time difficulty come for you, Allah (AJ) will lift your soul into Divinely Presence in which you be quenched and drenched from Divine rahmah (mercy) and mercy. When they cry, they’re crying from Allah’s (AJ) immense rahmah and mercy. The immense light and blessings that Allah (AJ) dresses upon the soul, blesses upon the soul as if [He] took their soul and threw it into His oceans of mercy that can’t be understood its immensity. All you can do from your physicality is just cry and overwhelmed with crying because God’s infinite rahmah and mercy.
That, He makes the burning of the testing to be cool and peaceful with His Divine Grace and enough healing. That they can set out another day for again more difficulty and more sorrow and sadness. Then the highest from Sayyidina Isa (as) is why? That he wants to teach the servant to rise, ‘I’m going to take you to my special one. I’m going to take you to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’ There’s an Ashura accepted by Prophet ﷺ. That, ‘Your struggle is accepted. Your way of understanding and annihilation is accepted. Join us for we are the Kawthari (people dressed from the Fountain of Abundance) people. Our life is “Fasali li rabbika wanhar.” ‘We pray unto our lord and we live a life of sacrifice.’
108:2 – “Fasali li rabbika wanhar. ” (Surat Al-Kawthar)
“So pray to your Lord and Sacrifice.” (The Abundance, 108:2)
The Black Hole Obliterates Everything for Allah’s (AJ) Sake
As a result, their boat is surrounded by the Kawthar (The Fountain of Abundance). They drink it, bathe in it, wash from it. Everything about their wujud (existence) is swimming in the oceans of Kawthar. Prophet ﷺ then begins to teach that why that level of the heart is the secret of annihilation. This is the secret of the black hole [Akhfa]. They still don’t know what comes from this black hole. That, this black hole annihilates everything and creates stars because the star has no more mass. All of it has to be destroyed – the mass, the ego – all has to be destroyed so that it becomes mahi, obliterated for Allah’s (AJ) sake.
As a result of being obliterated, Allah (AJ) turn the servant back ON in the oceans of baqa (eternal existence) and they’re lit. They’re like suns. Then each year, Allah (AJ) expends the power of their sun, from their sun to the Super Reds to the White Dwarfs, to the Blue Pulsar and then to Allah (AJ) knows best what that reality and the light of these awliyaullah (saints) will become.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
