The Spiritual Standoff: Reclaiming the Heart for the Divine Kingdom
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ٱلْرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Atiullah wa atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum. Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence. We took a path to be nothing.
أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُم… ﴿٥٩﴾ …
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Muharram and the New Year Resolutions
We’re at the beginning of Muharram is our new year. Our new year always needs a resolution. That what are we promising in this year and asking Allah (AJ) and asking our Lord Almighty that, ‘Make this year to be better than the previous year. Let my faith to increase this year, my good deeds to increase this year. Things that are displeasing to You, displeasing to Prophet ﷺ to be diminished and taken away. That write for me the goodness in which makes You happy with me and my actions.’ That this is the month of that resolution. These are the 10 days of immense oceans of forgiveness and that asking Allah (AJ) to set our path straight.
Our Journey starts with Muharram and Ends with Month of Hajj (Pilgrimage)
That we begin with Muharram and then this journey ends with the month of Hajj (pilgrimage). That is the month of pilgrimage to the oceans of reality. That the immensities of Muharram and the pilgrimage is for that reason. That Muharram is the month in which Prophet ﷺ migrated from Makkah to Madinatul Munawwara (luminous city of Prophet ﷺ). The immense realities within that migration and that our whole lives are to copy the reality of Prophet ﷺ. So that our life is a continuous state of struggle.
The Path of Hijrah (Migration) and Continuous Spiritual Struggle
When we accept that we’re going to leave wickedness and badness. Then we’ve come to a tariqah (spiritual path), come to this way of Islam. Then this becomes an entire struggle that Prophet ﷺ reminds us when we study a little bit of the history of Islam and the life of Prophet ﷺ. That the days in Makkah were the days of struggle. That the struggling with bringing the message. The struggling with people coming against the message and all of the internal struggles of the heart having new leadership.
So, these are all of the symbolisms of what Prophet ﷺ brought for us. That our heart has been under the kingdom of satan for so many years in our lives. Unless somebody has been born into the tariqah then mashAllah, alhamdulillah Allah (AJ) has given them a great honour. A great honour to be born in the tariqah, raised in the presence of Shaykhs. Then this is not for them. But those whom they’re born in regular circumstances and their whole life their heart was given to shaitan (satan). Say, ‘But no Shaykh my heart wasn’t that bad,’ okay you then had a nicer shaitan than other people’s shaitans.
A Battle for the Kingdom of Your Heart
But unless Rahman (The Most Compassionate) is on the heart. Unless they’ve been born into the tariqahs, purified through the tariqahs, and they kept themselves pure in that process then that’s 99% of all people. That depending upon the extent of their deeds, a demonic force govern their heart. This is why the stage of Makkah was so difficult. That we’re trying to bring God’s kingdom into our heart. So, that’s why we say that the religion of Islam is described in all holy books that ‘Thy kingdom come and His Will, will be done.’ That is Islam. That our whole lives when we come into this reality we realize that our heart was under the kingdom of shaitan. Doing what the nafs (ego) wanted, doing what everything other than the Divine wanted.
So with that ruling party whom governed with every type of badness, dirtiness, incorrectness to the extent of whatever people will be honest with themselves, it is not easy to then say ‘You’re out.’ You know one party is ruling and another party wants to come in and there is going to be an immense conflict. Because this is not a democracy but it is a kingdom. There is going to be an immense battle. That when a servant is ready and asking for the kingdom of Allah (AJ), the kingdom of the Creator, ‘Izzati wa Jalalihi to come into my heart, it is going to be a battle. That’s when people have to be true and honest to themselves.
Opening Your Heart to the Kingdom of God
Are you prepared to open your heart to the kingdom of God? If you are, then the inhabitant in your heart now has to be thrown out. That becomes the struggle. If they do it right, they’ll be emailing all their problems, ‘This is like this, this is like this, this is like this.’ But that’s the exact reality that’s supposed to be occurring. So why do we struggle with it? That when the shaitan is operating the heart, everything is going okay. Because he is in control, he has the mureed (devoted disciple) where he wants. He degrades them, he effaces them. Put them through every type of shame and ridicule and they’re okay with that and they live that lifestyle.
But then they’re surprised when you say, ‘No, I want the kingdom of The Creator to come into my heart. Under the leadership of His king and the light of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’ Or that shaitan is not leaving like that, and every type of conflict and every type of difficulty begins to incur within the heart of the believer. That’s the significance of Muharram and what we call the hijrah and the pilgrimage. Are we going to migrate from bad to good and from good to better and from better to the best? Every year it is another battle beginning that, ‘My Lord I tried my best last year. I know that I came short from what I had in my heart’s intention. Of what I was supposed to achieve by the time of the kawthar (The Fountain of Abundance) and by the time of the Hajj and the month of Hajj.’
Migration to the City of Light & the Importance of Madad (Support)
Then every year we start with our intentions and with all of our commitments of what we want to achieve in this year. Of how we want to come against every type of evilness and badness within the heart. We want the firmness of the Divine kingdom to enter within the heart. That becomes the migration towards the city of light. It is not a process in which we just say it and it happens. But Prophet ﷺ reminds us 13 years of struggle to prepare the Companions (as) for a state to migrate and make a hijrah. If Prophet ﷺ is preparing the Holy Companions (as) to migrate into Madinatul Munawwara for 13 years, we have to imagine for ourselves it is many lifetimes without support. It is not something that can be done. That’s why the whole system is, I need madad. Because the people don’t understand that ‘Why do you need a Shaykh, why do you need a tariqah? Why do you need a path?’
Say: because what you’re trying to achieve of realities, is not going to be achieved by yourself. The Holy Companions (as) were in need of the presence of Prophet ﷺ for 13 years of battling within their heart. Of every type of outside force not accepting the message, not accepting their change. Not accepting their prayers. Not accepting that you are changing the system of Makkah. For each believer that’s their own heart. You have to imagine that your heart is Makkah and the heart is filled with idols and devils that rule this heart and this being. You’re coming and trying to implement the heavenly kingdom and you’re asking that, ‘No, no I want the king on my heart to be the Divine Creator under the guidance of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.’ Then we can see like on a scenario, it is exactly like that battle.
Overcoming Trials Through the Madad of Prophet ﷺ
Everything will come against, every type of difficulty, every type of obstacle and people think there is something wrong with that. But in reality we’re being like exemplars of the holy sunnah (tradition) of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That if Prophet ﷺ showed by example that Prophet ﷺ and his Holy Companions (as) they struggle, our struggle should be hundreds of times more intense. But alhamdulillah for Allah (AJ) it is not, why? Because of the madad of Prophet ﷺ. In all reality it should be unachievable without the presence of Prophet ﷺ. If it took Prophet 13 years to purify his Holy Companions (as) then without that presence should be 13,000 years for a normal person.
So whether they know or they don’t know, it is the support of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. As soon as somebody accepts to be under that nation, they’re under the madad. The holy and Divinely gaze of the Divinely Presence and support of the Prophetic soul. So that they can achieve that reality and this is Divine Grace. This is the Divine eminence and power. That as soon as they want to accept Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ, there is an immense power and support that begins to enter into the heart of the servant.
When Allah (AJ) Wants to Guide Someone He Sends Them to a Shaykh
If Allah (AJ) has written for that servant, not only to enter the kingdom but ‘I want you to be guided.’ They fall into the hands of Shaykhs. These Shaykhs guide them in this understanding. That this state of Makkah that you’re trying to achieve within your heart, you’re trying to bring the kingdom of God not just by requesting that ‘I want the kingdom of Allah (AJ) coming into my heart,’ but it has to be an action. That this faith has to have an action and manifestation. Then be prepared for every type of difficulty and that’s the example from the prophetic life.
That we read about people would come to obstruct Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. They would come to create fitna (confusion), make family, brother, cousin against each other, why? To cause a difficulty against Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and his Companions (as). So everything we experience at work, at life and surroundings is this exact same example. So the servant is to be prepared in the state of Makkah that their heart has to continuously struggle.
Madad is The Key to Spiritual Victory
Then Allah (AJ) grants the gift. That if you want to struggle to have an ease then learn from these guides how to meditate. How to contemplate, how to significantly increase the state of Divinely Grace – what we call ‘madad.’ What we call asking for support and to spiritually bring ourselves into their presence and ask that, ‘My battle is very difficult and I’m asking for more support.’
As a result of slowing down and beginning to meditate and contemplate and all of their teachings. When you watch their videos and teachings on how to bring energy? How to understand all these realities – all of that is to support their battle. With that support and with that Divinely Grace that enters onto the heart of the servant, what happens? They can achieve the state of Madinatul Munawwara. In which they don’t have to struggle that many years and lifetimes. But if they connect and learn the system of connection. Because of the last days and the amount of support that is coming for people to achieve this Divinely Grace. They can begin to enter into Madinatul Munawwara. The City of Lights which is the Heavenly City of Lights.
‘Ashura: The Reward for Conquering the Inner Devils
When they struggle with their heart and subdue the devils. To bring the throne of God within their heart, Allah (AJ) grants them from ‘Ashura an opening. That’s what we described, the Prophets (as) are describing every state of that opening. That when Sayyidina Adam (as) comes and teaches there has to be an opening. When Allah (AJ) wants to open the heart of the servant, your original repentance has to be accepted that, ‘I came and I fell from Grace. I came under the delusions of shaitan. Now I’m prepared to return back to the heavens with my understandings.’ Then what that Sayyidina Nuh (as)? All of what we went over of the Prophets (as). All of their messages have an eternal and Divine reality. I have to prepare on ‘Ashura for my faith. I have to prepare on ‘Ashura for my hearing, my seeing to be opened. I have to prepare on ‘Ashura my resurrection.
So every ‘Ashura is an opening for this pilgrimage into the Divinely Presence that Allah (AJ) on the 10th of Muharram grant us these lights. These are 10 days in which to fast, pray, give, be charitable, put the faith in actions with deeds, with khidmat and service – everything. Meditating, contemplating and asking Allah (AJ) ‘For ‘Ashura, Ya Rabbi, grant us from these lights.’
‘Ashura Dresses the Soul with Prophetic Realities
Every year a different light opening upon the heart of the servant. For these realities to be achieved and the kingdom of light to begin to enter the servant.
- In which the repentance is forgiven and the Adamic lights begin to dress.
- The lights of Sayyidina Nuh (as) begin to dress and the lights of faith enter the servants.
- The light of Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) and Sayyidina Musa (as) begin to enter and the faculty of hearing and seeing the Divinely Presence.
- The faculty and the lights of Sayyidina Isa (as) enter into the heart of the servant. It teaches the servant how to continuously resurrect and leave the body. How to enter into the Divinely Presence and the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ which is the one whom teaches how to enter into the heavenly kingdom and the presence of the Sultan (King). In which the servant learns to be nothing, completely efface. In which they can be nothing and enter into that binary code and binary reality.
Divine Gifts of Muharram for the Nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us with the immensities of these 10 days of Muharram. Inspire within our hearts the good deeds, the good actions, the khidmat, the service., the sharings. All of these blessings that come with us and come to this path and are gifts to the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Every passing and every birth is a mercy from Allah (AJ). As we draw near to the examples of what occurred on Muharram, all of them are an intercession for the nation of Prophet ﷺ to achieve these realities. We pray that Allah (AJ) increases in our love for Prophet ﷺ, his Holy Companions (as), Holy Family – Ahlul Baytin Nabi ﷺ and all awliyaullah fis samayi wa fil ard (saints in the heavens and on earth).
