I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
InshaAllah. What we got from our SMC family inshaAllah? We do lots of sharing and lots of images coming out, lots of posts alhamdulillah. Then we have our mawlid (celebration of the birthday of Prophet ﷺ) in Northern California coming up July. What is it? 19th and 20th in Northern California. So, the people whom are putting out the flyers for that event and the presentation to that community, inshaAllah. So that those are events that people whom are watching live make sure they understand if they’re in the Northern California area. Then the grand mawlid in September inshaAllah, one in Vancouver and one in Northern California, inshaAllah. That our people are promoting that and pushing it on YouTube and reels and different social media. So that people are aware of all these programs, inshaAllah.
Question 1: During migration many companions lost their wealth, family status and worldly titles. Do we inherit the same reality when we are trying to migrate to the city of light?
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: Anytime we migrate, there is going to be difficulties. So, what Allah (AJ) was trying to see the greatness of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and then compare to other nations – there is no comparison.
So, Sayyidina Musa (as) was trying to migrate his community because he is ready, he is ready to go. So the Prophet (as) is ma’soom (innocent), there is nothing waiting for him. He is the one who has to take everybody to the kingdom. So why took 40 years? Because every time he was asking Allah (AJ), Allah (AJ) saying, ‘Your people are not ready, they’re not ready to go to heavenly kingdom. I want to give them a heavenly kingdom.’
We described many years, many times over these years. Every time he would talk to Fir’aun (pharaoh), Fir’aun would get angry and begin to kill his people. His people asked him, ‘Please stop. Your da’wah (religious propagation) whatever you’re trying to do, he actually gets very angry with us.’ He said, ‘But you’re not changing. So the reason I talk to him is so that you would be scared and change your character. So that you’ll be ready, so we go.’ They wouldn’t change, for 40 years they’re not going to change.
How many years Nabi Musa (as) was teaching with Fir’aun? We don’t even know that, they were lost 40 years in the desert after that situation. Even before that how many years he was teaching Fir’aun and try to get his people free? Even in the end he said, ‘They’re not going to change Ya Rabbi, let me just to take the people.’ As a result what happened? His nation came with all their goods, all their gold, all their jewellery. Because that which they worship, they were trying to be like the Fir’auns. Because you know when the Fir’auns they die, they have such hubb e dunya (love of material world), they bury themselves with all their treasures. Because God forbid somebody take some of their treasures as an inheritance. They bury their families, their everyone, everyone is going into the grave with the guy. Because he doesn’t want anyone to take anything from him.
So they have such a hubb e dunya, the same Fir’aunic line rules the earth. Because that’s a symbol of so much love that they want to take it with them and they’ll bury everyone with themselves. So that nobody can touch it. Then what happened? They inherited that characteristic because of their time with Fir’aun. So when Allah (AJ) opened for them to accept Sayyidina Musa’s (as) du’a (supplication), they went with all their treasures. So they couldn’t even run away fast because they’re carrying all their treasures.
Then Allah (AJ) say, ‘Okay as a rahmah and a mercy you come up to Me up on the mountain, I’ll talk to you and give you what I want to give you.’ But He inspired the people that, make what you really worship, make what you really desire. They were inspired to make a golden cow and the cow is still dear to them and they’re very still close to bud parast (idol worshipper). The other Hindu people whom also love cows. Allah (AJ) describes in Qur’an – they are closest with the people. Why? Because the cow and the calf is very dear to them. It is a sign of prosperity. So they made a golden cow. Why? Because Allah (AJ) knows, ‘They’re not going to give up their jewels. But I will inspire them to make this big golden cow with all jewels all around it just to pull their dunya (material world) from their hands.’ As soon as they made that, they started to worship that.
“And the people of Moses made, after [his departure], from their ornaments a calf – an image having a lowing sound. Did they not see that it could neither speak to them nor guide them to a way? They took it [for worship], and they were wrongdoers.” (The Heights. 7:148)
Then the story Moses (as), Musa (as) comes down, got angry, the earth opened and swallowed them. Nabi Musa (as) said, ‘Kill yourself maybe Allah (AJ) will forgive you.’ Then suicide became their way as repentance which is forbidden in Islam. But not forbidden for them.
2:54 – “Wa iz qaala Moosaa liqawmihee yaa qawmi innakum zalamtum anfusakum bittikhaa zikumul ‘ijla fatoobooo ilaa Baari’ikum faqtulooo anfusakum zaalikum khairul lakum ‘inda Baari’ikum fataaba ‘alaikum; innahoo Huwat Tawwaabur Raheem.” (Surat Al-Baqarah)
And [recall] when Moses said to his people, “O my people, indeed you have wronged yourselves by your taking of the calf [for worship]. So repent to your Creator and kill yourselves. That is best for [all of] you in the sight of your Creator.” Then He accepted your repentance; indeed, He is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful. (The Cow, 2:54)
So this is one example. But the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ because 13 years and their love for Prophet ﷺ, as soon as the command came, that’s it. They’re going. They follow Prophet ﷺ, “Sam’ina wa ata’na.”
(Surat Al-Baqarah)
“…We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys.” (The Cow, 2:285)
So, this is the difference in risalat (prophecy), this is the difference in love. This is the difference in the nation that this is a nation favoured by Allah (AJ) and their khuluq, their character. Not the fighting skills, not the wealth, not the material observation. But what people should be observing from this nation was the character which is lost now – there is no character for people. So, what was important was their character, the love they had, the respect they have for Prophet ﷺ. The love they have for Prophet ﷺ, they were able to move mountains.
So, when you have this Divine love and you have this love for Prophet ﷺ and that’s why you have a shaykh. Then they’re teaching you – make your salawats (praises upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ), do your practices, do your zikrs (Divine remembrance), then they begin to pull your teeth slowly. But when you have this love you don’t feel it. You don’t even notice it until Allah (AJ) pull what He wants to pull. Purifies the servant and then redresses the servant with that which is pure. So we said in all of our teachings the boat won’t be broken where everything is destroyed from the servant, it has to be cleaned.
So you take the dirty dunya away and Allah (AJ) replenishes it with that which is holy. That which is with the proper intention and the intention of the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. So alhamdulillah everything in life, “Fasalli li rabbika wanhar.”
108:1 – “Inna ‘atayna kal kawthar. ” (Surat Al-Kawthar)
“To thee (O Muhammad) we have granted the Fount (of Abundance).” (The Abundance, 108:1)
The last chapter will tell you where we’re going in life. So write your last chapter and what’s the last chapter of this journey, Surah Kawthar. So the Kawthar will tell you where we are going and your life is “Fasalli li rabbika wanhar.”
Are you doing that? Are you continuously praying and praising upon all the authorities of the heavens and you live a life of sacrifice? You sacrifice your money, sacrifice your time, sacrifice your abilities, sacrifice your character. Say, ‘Oh I don’t have to talk back this time,’ be quiet, be kind, be good for the sake of Prophet ﷺ. You see people that just can’t keep their mouth, they have to get the last word and keep arguing. So this is horrible. Sacrifice all of these badness and then you become from Kawthari (people dressed from the Fountain of Abundance) people. Because the last chapter tells us where we’re going, inshaAllah.
Question 2: We intend to follow your teachings this year inshaAllah and aim to receive the spiritual dress of each month. Does the tajalli (manifestation) remain the same throughout the month or are there specific days that are more important?
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: Everything has a tajalli. Allah (AJ) says, ‘At every moment your Lord is in a new tajalli’, so how could everything be the same? It is like say is everything going to be vanilla? Never; going to be good, going to be bad, going to be hot, going to be cold, going to be happy, going to be sad, going to be crying. Allah (AJ) say, ‘At every moment your Lord is in a new tajalli,’ so alhamdulillah.
Question 3: How can we verify during meditation the promise we made on the day of promises?
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: Yeah, those are not things you verify in meditation. First you have to learn the meditation, make the connection. Once you made the connection you know that your heart is connected to the shaykh and that the flow of information is flowing into the heart.
So, when you don’t know the steps or haven’t felt the steps, it is hard to ask a question on like a philosophy, ‘How will we know what the promise is?’ So means that tells us that you still don’t understand the connection. Once you made the connection, you feel the presence, you keep working on it and it is not easy. It is not going to be easy at all to keep the connection with the shaykh. You have to struggle with your bad character. Every time you had bad character the connection becomes harder to achieve.
Then you have to listen to them, do your good character, your good deeds, your good actions. Why would they give you a connection if you don’t do anything that they’ve told you to do? Connection is not coming something free. They don’t just hand out connections because you say you want to be connected. They want you to follow the curriculum, follow the example, do the khidmat (service), work on your character.
Imagine you yelling, screaming all day long and say, ‘Ah, shaykh I can’t connect.’ What did you think you were going to connect with? So everything is relevant. When we find ourself nice and clean and ready and then we sit, we did everything, the connection is a gift from Allah (AJ). Once they feel that connection, their heart is connected then they try to be good the next day too. Because they enjoyed that connection and then they do good again, again, again. Other people say, ‘Oh you better be good, have you been like this?’ They’re not doing it for other people, they don’t really care what anyone says, they have absolutely no interest at all. They don’t do anything for anyone. Everything they do is for that connection. Because the one whom gains a connection, he wouldn’t transfer it for all of this earth and all its jewels and everything.
So that’s their life support, they breathe of that connection. They have their tajalli, their guidance, their understanding of that connection. People can say whatever they want, ‘They’re like this or…’ it doesn’t matter for them. Only thing that matters for them is that connection. So, once you got it, you feel it, you know what it is then the rest there are no questions after that. Because the energy comes, they feel their purpose, they’re in communication with the soul of the shaykh. They receive the faiz (downpouring emanation) and that’s when we read the book on the Six Powers of The Heart.
You have to read the books, the books are the curriculum. It definitely won’t come as an answer in one of these talks, there is no golden key in these talks. These talks are all meant for you to read the curriculum, listen to the talks, connect with the shaykh. It is all encrypted. If you take the books, some people say, ‘Oh the books have a lot of information but doesn’t have everything.’ Well, why would they give you all your wallet on a book? Say, ‘Oh here!’ Because then everybody could buy a book and get the keys of the heavens. That’s not going to happen like that.
So they get the book then they listen to the suhbats (discourses), then they connect their heart. They have to pass the encryption stage. So when they try to connect their heart if they’re dirty, there is not going to be a connection. If they have anger and ghadab and bad character there is not going to be a connection. If they’re not doing anything, no service, no khidmat, no nothing, there is absolutely no connection. Why would there be a connection? Why would Allah (AJ) give the keys to the heavens for someone who is not interested in serving and being of service to the heavens? So that’s not how the system works. InshaAllah you’ve got to work the program, inshaAllah.
Question 4: I have been following your teachings for some time and while I’m improving in theory and understanding the concepts I struggle with applying them practically in my life. Please advise on how I can address this issue.
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: I just explained it. So, what we just mentioned is exactly that. You got to study it, you got to meditate, you got to have the good character. It is not just the shaykh said, sit down, connect, now you enter into the heavens.
If anyone tells you something like that, you have to know it is fake. If I tell you, you could get right now on a plane to New York. Put whatever you want in your luggage and just go to the gate and get on the plane. What kind of a lie is that? You’re not going to pass the screening or security because they’re going to check everything on your bags before you get on that plane. You think for airport they’re going to check you like that, you don’t think Allah (AJ) is going to check His servant trying to come into the heavens? No. So there is nobody connecting with ease and just you close your eyes, click your heels and you’re going to see everything. No.
It is a whole process. That’s why people are commenting on the individual aspects of the process because they don’t understand the whole curriculum. So they have to be charitable, they have to live a life of service. They have to be people whom are studying and reading and asking for the knowledge and they have to be connecting, connecting, connecting. So these are the adabs (manners) of the tariqah (spiritual path), this is the adab of the way. If the people don’t have the adab, they give their own hand away.
Some people say, ‘Oh Shaykh when you have gatherings the people are all talking, talking, talking especially the ladies.’ When the ladies are talking while the shaykh is teaching, shows they have no manners. As a result of no manners, they didn’t achieve anything. So they could sit 20 years but they got nowhere. So, everything in the tariqah is based on manners.
Imagine if you were in the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ- same thing – and one group of people are just chatting, chatting, chatting, chatting. No, there is nothing and then they come back later 10 years, 20 years, 15 years and you see they don’t know anything. They didn’t achieve anything, they have no understanding. So it is not just you sit in the presence and you achieve something but this is a process in which we have to work at it.
We have to connect, we have to have manners. We have to understand and take the notes and trying to achieve the knowledges and the realities for the time that we have. Because we don’t know how much time we have. But other people may be coming for a different purpose, maybe they want a social event. Maybe they just want to hang out and gossip. So everyone has a different reality they’re trying to achieve.
Very few are trying to achieve realities of the heavens, that requires work. That requires dedication, that requires the good character. Even if you’re at home. You know if you’re home, people are busy and noisy and everybody is like running around. Just put your headphones on and take your notes, put your headphones, take your notes. Connect your heart as if you’re in the presence of the shaykh and that you’re right there and Allah (AJ) dresses you. Even in the house you see everybody jumping, they don’t care, they’re not interested. Oh but that’s not for them. But if you’re interested then you make it very real for yourself and follow all their guidance.
Be charitable, live a life of service. When they ask for khidmat and service, share articles, share images. This is the shaykh’s da’wah and engine, if you don’t help it, who is going to do it? He is not going to employ anybody, he is not going to employ 20 people to make articles, that would have to be an entire industry. So, these are the things and the services that Allah (AJ) is looking that, ‘How come the students who love you they don’t do it?’ Say, ‘I don’t know why they don’t.’ That’s why then the shaykhs have to motivate people: If you love us and you love this way, you love Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, okay then do the khidmat. What could be more beautiful than to serve in something that you believe and that you love? That’s a sign of faith, that’s a sign of somebody who is ready.
You think when that person sits and tries to connect there is a response, there is a connection waiting for that person. But the person doesn’t do anything, why would there be a connection? Then as things become scarier, then more people start to line up for that connection, ‘What was that connection again? What are we supposed to do?’ So that’s going to be harder. It is easier to connect when life is a little bit simpler. Especially on these areas, the western area, western hemisphere and is going to be easier to connect because things are not so chaotic. Other parts of the earth when they’re very chaotic, it is not going to be the time to try to learn how to do muraqabah (spiritual connection). InshaAllah.
Question 5: In the presence of the one true Lord Allah (AJ), who gives power and authority to other ilah to govern us? Please forgive our manners.
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: No. La ilaha illAllah – no other ilah. No. Allah (AJ) is the Creator – La ilaha illAllah. The only one who has power is Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ and everything is from the heart of Prophet ﷺ and this is what we call the awliya (saints). So all the flow of energy is in only one direction from the Creator to the kingdom.
So, when you live with a king who has dominion in a kingdom? The king. If you want to buy something, what do you do? You go to the king. You want to sell something, you go to the king. You want to write something you go to the king. You want to build something, you go to the king. They do this on dunya, what do you think Allah (AJ) then established for the heavens so that it is not chaos? Say, ‘They’re never going to see Me. Who they will see is you – Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ in the world of light.’
So all power and all might is flowing through that reality. Everybody waits at the heart to receive their power and their authority. So it is a flow of energy flowing only in oneness from La ilaha illAllah to Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ, inshaAllah. That’s why no mushrik (polytheist) and no mushrikeen, no other powers, it is a falseness. We don’t even see it in science that multiple centers of power – they don’t exist. They come against each other.
So there is no multiple centers of power in this universe. There is only one source of power. That’s why it is symbolized in an Adam and Adam, a-d-a-m and atom, a-t-o-m symbolizes there is only one nucleus. Electrons infinite but one nucleus. One source of power emanating to the entire circumference. As vast as it can be it is still one center of power, inshaAllah. So alhamdulillah this is then to receive the power from that nucleus, from that center, inshaAllah.
Question 6: Is there any relevance to five elements, fire, wood, earth, air and water to the five levels of the heart?
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: There must be relevance to everything but we have talks on the elements. So you have to go back to those talks on the elements and the reality of the elements inshaAllah. That we’re the mizan (scale). So, we are the great scale, this creation of Adam. The angels are created of water, the jinn (unseen beings) are created of fire and we are created from clay, this Adam.
Allah (AJ) is showing creation what? Only this creation can contain water and fire and hold it. If water comes onto him, he grows so this is the angelic reality that allows insan (human being) to grow. If fire comes onto him, he can contain the fire and put it down because dirt can put down fire. As a result, Allah (AJ) breathes His spirit into this creation which is the wind. So these are the elements that we’re created from and the reality of insan and why God has said, ‘I have honoured your creation.’
17:70 – “Wa laqad karramna bani adama…” (Surat Al-Isra)
“And We have certainly honored the children of Adam…” (The Night Journey, 17:70)
The angels are astonished because they’re just a water that they don’t grow. Angels are a constant, right? But this insan if they do good and they balance, that’s why they’re the scale. If they balance their angelic reality, they grow, they become angelic powers. If they balance their fire, if they don’t they become narani (fiery). The fire overtake their creation and they become burnt.
If they balance their fire, it becomes zeal, himmah. They have the zeal and strength to conquer for God. As a result God breathe into him His spirit. it means now they have Nafas ur Rahmah (the Breath of Mercy). So they balance their angelic reality, their jinn reality and now they have a himmah (zeal) and breath from the Divinely Presence. That’s why it is called ‘the breath of mercy.’
So this is the reality of Insan al Kamil (The Universal Perfect Being) and how to perfect our reality. You can’t achieve that without the tariqahs. Because they have to give you the zikrs so that your angelic reality becomes strong. They give you the salawats and zikrs so that your narani and the demonic force goes weak. So that you can balance your reality to carry these. Then the breath, how to achieve and to receive that breath then is your muraqabah and your training. Because you need more breath to enter you and more lights to enter you. So that to balance all of these desires.
Because without the tariqah what happens? People have too much fire. You see them getting angry and screaming – social media. You watch a video where the guy just yelling and screaming like he is a lunatic and then he turns red. Why he is turning red? Because the fire is now overtaking the person. Do you think their angelic light is sitting there or no it runs away? So the angelic light is vanishing. The person is – the fire reality has overtaken them. They become like the fire nation – burning, burning, burning everything. So this is the whole challenge in life and how to balance. This is through the hands of awliya on how to balance this reality and to carry what Allah (AJ) wanted us to carry, inshaAllah.
Question 7: Are there ways we can quickly regain the connection with the shaykh if we have lost it due to anger or bad character?
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: Yeah, redo your character, give your sadaqah (charity), do your charity, go out do your khidmat. The system doesn’t change because you changed. The system is exactly the way it is. You have to do all of the elements of what they described and what we described earlier. If you fall outside of that then you just have to do more of it. So you do more of your practices, more of your khidmat. More of all of these things and trying to control the bad character and occasional anger, you make istighfar (seeking forgiveness), you give sadaqah. But the real badness is when they become angry and overly excessively angered and they begin to stop doing their awrads (daily practices) and their connections.
Somebody asked the other time when we said, ‘Oh the awrad, is it punishable?’ It is not punishable because it is not a sin. Awrad is something you do out of love, it is not mandatory in Islam. So the wazifas (spiritual practices) and awrads this is not a part of the fard and mandatory. This is what you chose to do from the Hadith, ‘They did their obligatory prayers and now they’re approaching through love. As a result I became the eyes in which they see, the breath in which they breathe.’
‘An Abi Hurairah (ra) qala, Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ : InnAllaha ta’ala qala: “ …, wa la yazaalu ‘Abdi yataqarrabu ilayya bin nawafile hatta ahebahu, fa idha ahbabtuhu kunta Sam’ahul ladhi yasma’u behi, wa Basarahul ladhi yubsiru behi, wa Yadahul lati yabTeshu beha, wa Rejlahul lati yamshi beha, wa la in sa alani la a’Teyannahu, …”
[Hadith Qudsi, Sahih al Bukhari, Raqam: 6502)
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (ra) that: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that: Allah the Almighty said: “…My servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary acts of worship so that I shall love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him…” [Holy Hadith, Authentic by al-Bukhari, # 6502]
So anyone who wants to achieve a state of love, they do their awrads, their zikrs, their practices. So we said, ‘If I don’t do my awrad, am I really going to be cut?’ I said, ‘Well, the awrad is in the zikrs, it is on the Friday night, it is in the Saturday night, it is in the Thursday night.’ But you don’t go around and tell people: No you can skip your awrad don’t worry about it. But what will happen? You’ll skip it one day, two days, three days, four days. So just like you tell your children, ‘Don’t touch the pots in the kitchen because you’re going to get burned.’ Now naughty children will go and touch every single pot and see which one is hot, ‘What are you talking about? I didn’t get burned.’
But the idea is that you’re trying to scare people from dropping their practices. So it is not a good idea to live your life dropping your practices. Maybe that’s the day you get hit by a car. So, you don’t know what Allah (AJ) has written. As a result of not knowing what Allah (AJ) has written, He is given us all of these extra blessings. Which one of those saved us that day, saved your child from choking or drowning, saved some sort of difficulty or calamity in your life? What saved us? What was that barakah (blessing) that Allah (AJ) gave? Was it the sadaqah you gave, the zakat (charity) you gave, the donation you gave, the awrad that you did?
So our life is barakah, not barakah just so that you can expand your empire. But the barakah that keeps many sadnesses and difficulties away. The people whom have done everything, everything and Allah (AJ) test them. Then Allah (AJ) has a high station for them to grant them a high station of realities. So alhamdulillah, our life is a way of discipline. Advising ourselves and anyone else who wants to listen – keep the discipline to the best of your abilities. Don’t live life on the edge like you’re standing on a cliff and saying, ‘I wonder if I’m going to fall.’ Stay away from the cliff. Likelihood is maybe a wind will come and push you. So don’t do like that.
So do the awrad whenever you can, as much as you can, do the good practices, good deeds, give charity often. So alhamdulillah, this leads to good character and one day all of a sudden something happens and you know, ‘Oh my gosh I was saved by this.’ So we’ve seen it on all our lives, somebody wore ta’weez (prayer for protection), has everything in, never really probably understood it. Gets into a car accident and a pipe went right through past their ear. Which that pipe probably should have hit in the forehead and taken out their head. But because their ta’weez and their belief system and whom they’re around, alhamdulillah Allah (AJ) sent the pipe this way [past their ear].
So, we don’t understand what was written and barely people can understand Allah’s (AJ) rahmah (mercy) and grace. They don’t really appreciate it and give enough praise to it. How Allah (AJ) saves? They just think, ‘Oh it is random.’ No there is nothing random, Allah (AJ) could have made every type of catastrophe. The fact that you come out from things in good shape is God’s immense grace. That’s a sign of, ‘I love you’ for those whom are aware and understand God’s grace. So they recognize it, appreciate it, they make their sujood (prostration). They thank and praise Allah (AJ) that to be merciful to them and forgive them, inshaAllah.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
