Seeking Divine Validation Through Love, Not People’s Approval
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ٱلْرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ. Madad ya Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem, Ya Habibul ‘Azeem, unzur halana wa ishfa’lana, ‘abidona bi madadikum wa nazarekum.
Atiullah wa atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum. Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُم… ﴿٥٩﴾ …
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Our Deen (Religion) is The Love of Prophet ﷺ
Alhamdulillah, inshaAllah tomorrow night wherever people are then the beginning of the opening of the holy month of Muharram, Saturday, Sunday. That inshaAllah tomorrow night we’ll recite the du’a (supplication) for the farewell of this year and asking Allah (AJ) to bless us, dress us, protect us. What’s opening for the following year that Allah (AJ) keep us with the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. To live a life in which to be granted the nearness of Sayyidina Mahdi (as). That is with good character, ‘ishq (love) and muhabbat.
Our deen, our religion is the love of Prophet ﷺ. Our mazhab (school of thought) and jurisprudence is in the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That love resolves everything, that love intercedes for everything. This is a time of great confusion upon this earth. It is best to err on the side of love for Prophet ﷺ instead of trying to figure your own jurisprudence from tongues that are not truthful and hearts that are not clean. That the best of hearts, the best of tongues and the best of those to put your trust in Allah’s (AJ) beloved servant Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Teachings of Muhammadan Realities & Rejection by External Scholars
These way of haqqaiqs (realities), these ways of teachings are not popular. So those whom their hearts resonate to reach to these realities and understand these realities. This, we believe, is a gift and Divine Grace from the Divine Presence. From scholars or shaykhs or whatever people are calling their titles, it is not popular. Because for it to be popular they have to be able and be comfortable to explain the teachings. It is easier to side with, ‘No, I don’t know what he is talking about, this is not true. This is not this, this is not that,’ and negate. We saw from the most basics of teachings to the most, you can’t say advanced, but deeper, deeper realities.
In starting this journey of ours 35 years ago even if we talked muraqabah (spiritual connection), basic muraqabah. If someone didn’t know it and at that time was pretending to be a shaykh or a guide or guru, imam (religious leader). Whatever the titles, it doesn’t really matter what the title is. The title does not make the person qualified to understand. It is the heart that understands. They would hear about the muraqabah they say, ‘No, no there is no muraqabah.’ It was easier just to tell people ‘no’ than to have to say, ‘Oh yeah.’ Then if they have a question how do you answer it?
Patience in Learning Muhammadan Haqqaiq
That’s why there is always a conflict on these spiritual subjects. Because the student has to understand these realities that we reach and teach and what’s being conveyed from my shaykh to myself. The student is thinking: it is between the shaykh and myself. It is not that I take it and I’ll go out and try to validate it with the local imam. Or somebody down the street that looks like he has a kufi and a beard. Because you’re not seeking validation in people. That was what we tried to convey the night before. Our life is not about validating. The only validation is through your tafakkur (contemplation), your meditation and your contemplation. When you feel, you feel that you’re connected to Divinely Presence. You feel that you’re connected to the love of Prophet ﷺ and those are the only practices that we do to get our validation.
To be validated by the tongues of men become very difficult. If you’re hearing a haqqaiq and you’re learning from these realities. If you seek out to validate it with other people, maybe Allah (AJ) hasn’t given that gift. Maybe their capacity or interest is not there and the likelihood of negating is very easy. But if the student is patient and say, ‘Oh, okay then I’m just going to learn these realities.’ Then they start to read the na’at (prophetic praising).
End Times and the Forgotten Jewels of Muhammadan Haqqaiq
That’s why we say when we’re reciting the salawats (praises upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) and the na’at, read them. Say, ‘Oh look what the shaykh taught, he is reciting in this na’at.’ That’s now a deeper understanding. These people who wrote these kalaams (words) and wrote these poetries, wrote these realities, it is the same Muhammadan reality. You find it now in the na’at, you find it in the salawat. You find it in the more ancient texts that this is the Muhammadan haqqaiq. In the last days it becomes the least spoken reality because we entered into a second stage of ignorance. As in the time of Prophet ﷺ entering upon this earth was a great time of ignorance and paganism.
Prophet ﷺ described that, ‘When my grandson comes it will be similar as in his arrival, as in my arrival.’ It means the earth will be filled with deception and deceit, lies. Organizations that are entirely framed together for the spreading of deception and deceit. So then the truth comes as something bizarre and unknown. The ways and the jewels of truth which are the Muhammadan haqqaiqs, the realities of the prophetic reality. These are the jewels from the Divinely Presence that are not spoken, not understood. More and more in the last days upon this earth.
Seeking Validation from The Love of Prophet ﷺ, Not from People
So then this becomes this way of reality in which we learn the reality. We don’t seek to validate with other people and that we keep to ourself. We learn, we learn, we meditate. Our only validation comes through our meditation, our connection and feeling the faiz and emanations and Divinely Grace. The drawing near to the presence of Prophet ﷺ is the main validation. That when you’re learning about somebody whom you love, you’ll be with whom you love.
.”عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: … فَقَالَ (رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ): ” أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ
[اَلْمَصْدَرْ: مُسْلِمْ ٧٥٢٠ ]
‘An Anasin (ra): … Faqala (Rasulullahi) ﷺ: “Anta ma’a man ahbabta.”
Narrated Anas ibn Malik (ra) that …the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “You will be with whom you love.” [Source: Muslim 7520]
When you enter into their oceans of teachings, oceans of realities it draws the soul to the proximity of that reality. The best of realities is the Muhammadan reality. As a result of drawing near to the heavenly kingdom, ‘Thy kingdom come and Thy Will, will be done.’ This is the whole reality that all religion had taught, that draw near to the kingdom of God. But unfortunately people deviated in what that kingdom was! Who was that kingdom and how would that kingdom draw near and be and appear upon this earth? That’s when the men of deception began to deceive.
Why People of Turuq (Spiritual Paths) are Always Under Attack by Shayteen (Devils)?
But alhamdulillah that Allah (AJ) has guidance upon this earth and these are the turuqs. The tariqahs (spiritual paths) that are supposed to be the path to the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ which is the path to the Divinely Presence. To the presence of all holy realities that are encapsulated in the Muhammadan haqqaiq and the Muhammadan heart ﷺ.
The people of these, they are under attack by shayateen. Because other people ask all the time that, ‘When I pray I’m continuously confused. When I look out I see that why are Muslims always separate and others seem to work collectively together?’ The Holy Companions (as) asked Prophet ﷺ similar, they say, ‘Ya Rasulul Kareem (The Most Generous Messenger) when the others pray it looks like they pray with such concentration. But when we come to prayer there is so much waswas (whispering). So much activity trying to block us from our salah (daily prayer).’ They describe that when a thief comes on a property, does he go to the barn or goes to the main house? The barn, what he wants to do with the creatures in the barn? He goes for the main quarters, the main house. Awliyaullah (saints) come and teach that when shaitan (satan) already has mureeds (devoted disciples), why he needs to separate them when his life for them is to join them?
Shaitan’s Strategy & Division of Muslim Ummah (Nation)
His [satan’s] mureeds are joined, and as a result, they become powerful on this earth. They appear to have power on this earth. Their wealth is a deception. The one that is awaited for is called ‘The deceiver.’ In every aspect is a deception; perceived power, perceived influence and perceived love and Divine Grace is not by wealth. It is not by structures, is not by anything from this material world. These are also signs of how shaitan brings them together because he loves them. But what is a threat to shaitan is Islam, the deen of Allah (AJ). The religion of Allah (AJ) is a threat upon the earth for shaitan.
إِنَّ الدِّيْنَ عِنْدَ اللهِ الإِسْلاَمُ…﴿١٩﴾
3:19 – “Innad deena ‘indAllahil Islam.” (Surat Ali-Imran)
“The religion with God is Islam [Submission]…” (Family of Imran, 3:19)
Others he unifies them, he loves them. But Islam and the religion of Allah (AJ), the Muhammadan haqqaiq, he is an avowed enemy. In which not two of them can get together to agree. Not three of them can get together to support each other. That’s why people look and say, ‘Oh why the nation is separated? They can’t even come together to commit to something.’ Oh because this is a sign for people that shaitan is fiercely against this nation. Others, he has them in their pocket and supports them and encourages them in their growth. So that they have dominion over the earth.
Price of Paradise and the Illusion of Easy Salvation
So, we don’t understand the system, we’re continuously confused by the eyes, ‘Why they’re like this and why are we like this?’ We’re exactly like this because we’re the inhabitants of paradise that don’t belong on this earth. Allah (AJ) sent us as a test that, ‘Come to this earth but earn your paradise,’ and people have forgotten the price of paradise. Thinking that you can… It is in all the crime movies, they go out and they kill and destroy everything. Then they give a donation to an organization and say, ‘Oh our sins are washed.’ Thinking that they can get something from this earth that will give them a ticket into paradise. That’s not the reality, that’s only Hollywood.
The reality is the price for paradise is very high. If you want to know the cost of paradise then look upon the earth. See how the paradise people have been suffering. The paradise people, how they pray, how they’re committed to their fasting. How they’re committed to the true religion of the heavens which is the submission of one’s will to the Creator. Adherence to the prophetic way, not by mockery but by example. Adherence to the holy dress, the character, the demeanor, the food, the laws of their Prophet ﷺ. It is the example of the heavenly kingdom, is the prayer: ‘Thy kingdom come, Thy Will, will be done.’
Representing the Heavenly Kingdom through Holy Sunnah (Traditions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ)
How can ‘Thy Will’ will be done when you dress not like your Prophet (as)? You eat not like your Prophet (as), you act not like your Prophet (as)? What will of the heavens do we think we have? But then look to this nation in which everything of their laws is that you must eat like the Prophet ﷺ. You must dress according to the Prophet ﷺ. You must act and move and every gesture of what we call the holy way, the sunnah of Prophet ﷺ is our law. It is the Divine law of nature, is the law of all creation. Adherence to it is the way of the heavens and is the example of the heavens.
So means then this is a great gift Allah (AJ) has given to this nation. That you represent the heavenly kingdoms, call people back to their senses. Call people back to these realities, to the ‘ishq and the love of the Divinely Presence. Call people back to good manners, good character. The means in which we’re trying to achieve our goal is more important than the goal. Because nobody knows the goal. If Allah (AJ) gets a community to struggle to build the masjid, the actual masjid is not the importance. It is the struggle of the community that was important. Any objective that’s given to this nation and paradise nation, Allah (AJ) looks to their struggle. If He wants to complete it that’s up to Allah (AJ). If He doesn’t want to complete it then that’s up to Allah (AJ). This is the whole means.
Waiting for Imam Mahdi (as) & Importance of Struggle
If we are a nation waiting for Sayyidina Mahdi (as) then Allah (AJ) looking to the character – are you waiting patiently? Are you waiting with good character and good deeds? Are you eager to go out and do your good deeds by example? Go out and feed people, take care of people regardless of their faith. Why? So that you can become Mahdiyoon (Muhammadan guides) and those whom represent the heavenly kingdom. Not the annihilation and suffering of people hoping that in the end things will be resolved.
The means in which we are moving is more important than the ending. Ending is only known by the Divinely Presence and it is not our business. Our business is in the motivation of struggling. Motivate people to struggle against themselves, their bad character and to encourage faith to have a reality. Bring your faith that’s hidden within your heart and bring it out to manifest. So that your deeds testify for you. That our deeds testify for us, this is the importance.
Entering New Year Under The Holy Gaze of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
We pray that Allah (AJ) granted us these lights and blessings of this year. Grant for us and write for us the great deeds in the coming year. That, grant our community these deeds that are pleasing to Allah (AJ), to Prophet ﷺ. Of the charity, the water, the qurbans (sacrifices), the foods, the centers, the food programs, the da’wah (religious propagation) and spreading the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. From left to right, east to west, north to south. There is not a place where somebody is not trying to propagate the teachings spreading in social groups, media groups. This is the importance, this is the way.
We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us, bless us and prepare for us the arrival of the holy month of Muharram which is the Islamic calendar and the new year. This is the opening that new year. In which we step with our right foot and a pilgrimage all the way to the 12th month and the month of the Kawthar (The Fountain of Abundance). The month of the Hajj (pilgrimage). That many may stay on the path, many may fall from the path, many may die on this path. We pray that Allah (AJ) write for us a goodness to achieve His rida and satisfaction. That we’re under the nazar (gaze) and support of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, his Holy Companions (as), holy Ahlul Bayt (Holy Family of Prophet ﷺ) and all the awliyaullah fis samayi wa fil ard (saints in the heavens and on earth).
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
