Have You Ever Seen A Portal?
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem

I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
The Blessings of Rabi’ul Awwal and the Reality of TaSeen – ‘Ta’ ‘Seen’
The blessings of Rabi’ul Awwal and the holy month of Sayyidina Muhammad’s ﷺ holy birth and this reality of the birth of all light. The light of all secrets and knowledges. We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us from the immensities of these realities. I think that we’ve spoken the last week or and as soon as we enter into the reality of Surat An Naml – the 27th surah (chapter) and the secrets of the Divinely Kingdom. Allah (AJ) gives us “TaSeen” and swears by that reality.
27:1 – “Taa-Seeen; tilka Aayaatul Qur-aani wa Kitaabim Mubeen.” (Surat al-Naml)
“Taa-Seen, These are verses of the Qur’an, and a Clear Book.” (The Ant, 27:1)
‘Ta’ – We’ve talked about the reality of ‘Ta’ and Tahirul Hadi (purified guide) – the most purified representation of Allah (AJ). The purified guide of Allah (AJ), the purity and which symbolized by fire and a burning bush. The bush in which Sayyidina Musa (as) saw and this is the eternal flame within the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
‘Seen’ – The ‘Seen’ is the Ilm ul Yaqeen (Knowledge of Certainty), ‘Ayn ul Yaqeen (Vision of Certainty), Haqq ul Yaqeen (Certainty of Truth) and the realities of the Divinely secrets and all of mankind exists within a secret.
Our Life is to Uncover the Secret of TaSeen – The Burning Flame
Insan (human being) its center is the sir and the seen and the secret. Our life is to uncover that secret. We described last night that the food of that reality – Ilm ul Yaqeen: the knowledges of certainty. That each student is required to reach the knowledge of certainty. As they study from that knowledge, they consume and live that knowledge then ‘Ayn ul Yaqeen in which they train to open their heart. So, those knowledges become true for them. They’re witnessing what the shaykh is speaking. As the shaykh is speaking many may be witnessing and seeing the entry of where Nabi Musa (as) walked in Toor e Sineen (Mount Sinai). That he walked and saw a fire and that is a portal from the heart of Prophet ﷺ. That’s after we connect all the dots.
But Qur’an describes it is that he came upon a burning bush and that he intended to get some news and knowledges. That he would bring back a fire for his community so that they could be guided.
20:10 – “Iz ra aa naaran faqaala li ahlihim kusooo inneee aanastu naaral la’alleee aateekum minhaa biqabasin aw ajidu ‘alan naari hudaa” (Surat Taha)
‘When he saw a fire and said to his family, “Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance.”’ (Taha, 20:10)
Immensity of The Burning Flame
So means the immensity of that burning flame and that anyone who enters that flame never returns the same. Whom are around it and within it, Allah (AJ) described they are blessed. Then the knowledge of awliya (saints) come and describe that flame is the heart of Prophet ﷺ because Allah (AJ) has no likeness.
27:8 – “Falammaa jaaa’ahaa noodiya am boorika man finnnnaari wa man hawlahaa wa Subhaanal laahi Rabbil ‘aalameen.” (Surah An-Naml)
But when he came to the (fire), he was called: “Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it: and glory to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.” (The Ant, 27:8)
So only from this knowledge of realities they come back to describe the events of Holy Qur’an. That don’t think Allah (AJ) is a burning bush but the fire is symbolic of Allah’s (AJ) Divinely Presence. That can only be understood by the Hadith of Prophet ﷺ and the Hadith of Prophet ﷺ “Qalb al mu’min baytullah.”
Qala Rasulallahi ﷺ, Qala Allah (AJ): “ “Qalb al mu’min baytur rabb.” [Hadith al Qudsi]
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, that Allah (AJ) said:“The heart of the believer is the House of the Lord.” (Holy Hadith)
The Heart of Allah’s (AJ) Believer is His House
That the heart of His believer is the house of Allah (AJ). So means that to come upon some representation of Allah (AJ), it must be the house of His believer. Which believer? The only believer that Allah (AJ) is concerned about is the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. So means very deep, we have to ponder and think. That as they’re entering into the cave and this is the presence of Prophet’s ﷺ holy heart, Allah (AJ) is speaking. Because then who is in the heart of Prophet ﷺ? Where Allah (AJ) says, ‘I’m in the heart of My believer.’ So he came upon Allah’s (AJ) believer and as a result, what he witnessed of that flame speaking to him: ‘Ana Allah that I am Allah (AJ).’
28:30 – “Falammaaa ataahaa noodiya min shaati’il waadil aimani fil buq’atil muubaarakati minash shajarati ai yaa Moosaaa inneee Anal laahu Rabbul ‘aalameen.” (Surat Al-Qasas)
“But when he came to it (fire), he was called from the right side of the valley in a blessed spot – from the tree, “O Moses, indeed I am Allah, Lord of the worlds.” (The Stories, 28:30)
The Blessed Flame – A Portal to the Presence of Prophet ﷺ
So that can’t be spoken too much more other than the person whom wishes to meditate and contemplate. That this is the portal for Bani Israel and the Prophets (as) of Bani Israel. That they have an opportunity to be present in that flame and Allah (AJ) describing, ‘All around them and all who enter into it are blessed.’ (Holy Qur’an, 27:8). Sayyidina Musa (as) describing, ‘I’m going to take some fire back for guidance for my community and my family.’ (Holy Qur’an, 20:10). So it means hadrat an Nabi ﷺ (presence of Prophet ﷺ) is immense, immense. They didn’t know that then.
The Reality We Fail to Appreciate: Being from the Nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
This is the blessings of being from the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. They give us this identity or this reality so that we understand how much we don’t appreciate what Allah (AJ) has given to us. How much people want to complain for what they don’t have, of what they wanted and what they didn’t receive or achieve. All of that is a drop in a waste in a barrel of waste if you compare it to these haqqaiqs (realities). What Allah (AJ) did give, I don’t think too many are truly thankful for. What Allah (AJ) didn’t give is what everybody is complaining about and this is the dilemma for mankind. We’ve talked about before. But in the immensity of this month, the immensity of these realities, there is so much to be thankful for. That Allah (AJ), look what He gave us!
Prophets (as) of Bani Israel Yearned for What This Ummah (Nation) is Given Already
That the Prophets (as) of a nation were yearning for an audience into that portal. Allah (AJ) gave to the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ hadrat an Nabi ﷺ at every opportunity. Right? What’s the most powerful opportunity? In Surat An Naml describes whom are the people whom reach yaqeen (certainty). They do their salah (daily prayer) and they give their zakah (charity) and those are the ones whom they have yaqeen.
27:3 – “Allazeena yuqeemoonas Salaata wa yu’toonaz Zakaata wa hum bil Aakhirati hum yooqinoon” (Surat al-Naml)
“Who establish prayer and give zakah, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. (3)” (The Ant, 27:3)
Reality of Salah
Why Salah is More Than a Physical Act of Worship?
Every Salah is in Hadrat an Nabi ﷺ
So every time you make salah, you’re in the hadrat an Nabi ﷺ. Because, again, people don’t know where they’re praying. To whom? Allah (AJ). Where? In the presence of Prophet ﷺ. So means, this is immense. What other nations had to wait for a portal, for an opening, Allah (AJ) gave us in our salah. Why? Because everybody comes to Allah (AJ) with their Prophet (as). The words of our salah Allah (AJ) stressing for us that your salah is not you before Allah (AJ). Who are you? Your salah is always in the presence of your imam (religious leader) – is representing you.
As soon as you make salah, Prophet ﷺ is in front of you. Every salah, because you’re saying in tashahhud, ‘Assalamu ‘alayka ayyuhan Nabi ﷺ.’
“All the best compliments and the prayers/praising and the pure/good things are for Allah. Peace and Blessings be upon you, O’ Prophet ﷺ! Peace be on us and on the righteous servants of Allah. I testify that there is no deity but Allah (AJ), and I testify that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the servant and Messenger of Allah (AJ).”
People Don’t Even Know What Their Salah is
So people don’t even know what their salah is and who is present in their salah! Where are you making salah? You understood that the salah is for Allah (AJ) but where and in whose presence? Well, the words teach us in whose presence. “Assalamu ‘alayka ayyhan Nabi ﷺ” and you’re giving your tashahhud, you’re giving your shahadah (testimony of faith).
Why? So that Prophet ﷺ will accept that, purify that action and then present that salah to Allah (AJ). But they don’t want to go dirty in their salah. Especially if you’re being taught its certainty and its ma’rifah (Gnosticism). That if every time you’re praying why Allah (AJ) has your washing when you’re so distant from Allah (AJ) but yet closer than your jugular vein? It is to wash off your dirtiness because of the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Salah Draws Us into the Presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
So means everything about our salah and the reality of that salah is drawing into the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and it is in a world of light. Your physicality may be praying in any location on this earth or in space or wherever this body may be. But the soul as soon as you say ‘Allahu Akbar’ (Allah (AJ) is the Greatest), your soul is present in that world of light in the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. This is the world of light, ‘alam al arwah (world of souls).
Salah is The Mi‘raj (Ascension) of Believer

In this realm of lights, your physicality you have to think beyond the physicality – where do I go when I say Allahu Akbar? The prayer can’t be taking place on this earth. As soon as you say Allahu Akbar, the salah and the reality of salah for the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, Allah (AJ) open for them the most powerful portal. Why? Because immediately their souls are in the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. In a realm in which has no time. Imam al Mursaleen (The Leader of the Messengers), the one whom is always representing his nation and all nations. As soon as we’re saying our salah and our namaz (prayer) and takbirat (name of phrase “God is Great”). All of that is drawing our soul into the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Reality of Zakah
Zakah Purifies and Completes Your Salah
That’s why Allah (AJ) is giving to us that: this salah of yours it has to be washed with zakah. That you have to give your zakah, you have to cleanse yourself. Zaki is to be purified.
Ma‘rifah is to Be Conscious of Whose Presence You Enter
This way of ma’rifah is to rise above kindergarten. Kindergarten, they don’t know where they pray, they don’t know how they pray. They don’t know in whose presence they pray; it doesn’t really matter. The way of ma’rifah is to teach the servant is that ‘Be conscious. If it is Prophet ﷺ that you love, keep clean.’ So with love they wash. They wash the places that people don’t see to be clean in the presence of Prophet ﷺ. How could they think of going dirty into that reality whether through their physicality or through the soul?
Live a Life of Cleaning Yourself
The one whom purifies his physicality and purifies his soul, then Allah (AJ) gives to them, ‘Your formula requires zakah.’ Zaki (purified) means zakat, sadaqah (charity), service. It means that live a life of cleaning yourself, cleaning your inner reality, cleaning your outer reality. So that your salah becomes real. What Allah (AJ) gave in this holy surah of reaching TaSeen is that these are the people of yaqeen. That they pray and they pay and as a result, they have immense yaqeen. If they keep that presence with sincerity, Allah (AJ) make them more powerful than the nation of Bani Israel. In which Sayyidina Musa (as) described, ‘I’m going into that flame so that I can bring back a fire for guidance for my nation.’ (Holy Qur’an, 20:10).
Those Whose Hearst are Open Witness Prophet ﷺ in Their Prayer
What about the nation that prays all their prayers in that presence? When you say ‘Assalamu alayka ayyuhan Nabi ﷺ’ this is in the world of light. In that light of Prophet ﷺ, who is in the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ when Prophet ﷺ is giving you back your salaams (greetings)? The same One who spoke to Nabi Musa (as) and said, ‘Ana Allah, ana Allah.’ In the salah you’re moving in that reality and Allah’s (AJ) fire, Allah’s (AJ) Speech is in that heart.
Allah (AJ) begins to describe Prophet ﷺ in that world of light by Hadith al Qudsi (Holy Hadith). If Allah (AJ) is the fire within his heart then Allah (AJ) is describing in that Hadith al Qudsi, ‘I am the seeing in which he sees.’ When you say ‘Assalamu alayka ayyuhan Nabi ﷺ’ means those whom are witnessing with their heart open, they can see Prophet ﷺ. Now the Hadith al Qudsi talks to them and Allah (AJ) ‘I am the eyes in which he sees. The seeing of his eyes I am seeing. I’m the ears in which he is hearing you, the eyes in which he is seeing you. I am the tongue in which he speaks to you. I am the hands in which he touches to you. His feet; I am the feet in which he moves. So much so you’re in the presence of My Rabbaniyoon (Lordly Souls). If you ask him, he has power undoubtedly for kun faya koon.’ Allah’s (AJ) Will moves through that reality.
‘An Abi Hurairah (ra) qala, Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ : InnAllaha ta’ala qala: “ …, wa la yazaalu ‘Abdi yataqarrabu ilayya bin nawafile hatta ahebahu, fa idha ahbabtuhu kunta Sam’ahul ladhi yasma’u behi, wa Basarahul ladhi yubsiru behi, wa Yadahul lati yabTeshu beha, wa Rejlahul lati yamshi beha, wa la in sa alani la a’Teyannahu, …” [Hadith Qudsi, Sahih al Bukhari, Raqam: 6502)
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (ra) that: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that: Allah the Almighty said: “…My servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary acts of worship so that I shall love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him…” [Holy Hadith, Authentic by al-Bukhari, # 6502]
Hadrat an Nabi ﷺ is Immensely Powerful
So means hadrat an Nabi ﷺ is immense power, immense power. If they want to draw near to Allah (AJ), they have to come into that reality of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ and to understand what this flame of TaSeen represents. If Allah (AJ) should throw that fire into the heart of the believer, that’s the very fire of Divinely Presence in which Prophet ﷺ when he speaks to them is Allah’s (AJ) Speech. Wa unzur halana wa ishfa’lana (gaze upon my condition and intercede for me) and that when the nazar (gaze) of Prophet ﷺ come upon their souls, it is the vision of Allah’s (AJ) light and tajallis (manifestations) upon their soul.
The Reality of Tawheed (Oneness) in the Presence of Prophet ﷺ
It means this is the immense ocean of tawheed and oneness. That as you draw into the reality of Prophet ﷺ, it is Allah’s (AJ) tajalli that dressing the servant, blessing the servant. We pray that Allah (AJ) give us an immense understanding of these lights and these realities and how to draw near to the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. In this world of malakut (heavenly realm) and the world of light and don’t let the limitations and ignorance of the world of form to distract us.
Without Tafakkur (Contemplation), This Knowledge Remains Only Information
Truly if we meditated, because you’re accompanying a shaykh that is licensed for tafakkur and his knowledge is based on his license. Others don’t have that license so they don’t talk about it. But because this license is based on tafakkur, the knowledges are under the assumption that you are contemplating. If you’re not contemplating, you’re not downloading. If you’re not downloading, you are merely entertaining yourself; no problem.
If you do download and you do your connection, you would have witnessed and understood the immensity of these realities. That what Allah (AJ) is dressing us with, what Allah (AJ) is granting us of opportunities into this light and into this reality. There is no wealth that could be given for this. There is no possessions or dunya (material world) objects that could be in comparison to this. Many would give all the wealth of their dunya for one drop of that reality into the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Because look to the stories of the Prophets (as) of Bani Israel means the best among them are the nabiyeen (prophets) and how much they yearn for a moment in that flame.
If One Encounter Made Sayyidina Musa (as) Kalimullah, Imagine Awliya Who’re Always in That Flame!
How many times Sayyidina Musa (as) went to that flame? One time and called kalimullah (the one who speaks to Allah (AJ)). What about awliya that they’re always in the presence of hadrat an Nabi ﷺ! This is their station and their ranks. When Prophet ﷺ speaks to them, who is speaking to them? It is the very fire, that Divinely reality. So it means this is an immense reality, immense blessings from Allah (AJ). If we achieve those and they bask in that reality, everything else that we ask for would diminish in importance. This dunya if it diminishes in this importance, you attain the wealth of akhirah (hereafter).
Attain the Wealth of Akhirah
The one whom has the wealth of akhirah, controls all the wealth of dunya. But the one whom has no wealth of akhirah, holds within their hand something rotten that becomes a ‘azaab (punishment) for them. Because Allah (AJ) will question, ‘Where is that from?’ The attainment is to the attain the wealth of akhirah, the realities of Prophet ﷺ. To be in that presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. To download and to be dressed by these realities, blessed by these realities. The one whom achieves those realities, they would understand the wealth that Allah (AJ) has given to them and they would feel ashamed to complain.
The Ability to Listen to Haqqaiqs is a Great Blessing of Allah (AJ)
Even I have access to listen to it, Allah (AJ) is giving me the wealth of akhirah. The ability to listen to haqqaiqs means Allah (AJ) has given you a ticket into that audience. So means how could that compare to thinking I have difficulties of dunya? Only when they truly understand what Allah (AJ) has given to them, they become the wealthy of paradise. They walk from the gold, the treasures and the rubies of akhirah. How could that one be in difficulty on dunya? They can’t. But the difficulty of dunya is because they are not focusing on the akhiah.
As Much as You Run for Dunya, Akhirah Goes the Other Way
As much as you run for dunya, akhirah goes the other way. As much as they understood that this is a portal and they’re to stay in that portal, enter into its reality. Attain the fire of that reality and take back home to their families its guidance and its light. As a result, they would be like that flame. Wherever they go, blessed. All around them, blessed. All in their hadrah and their presence, blessed. We pray that Allah (AJ) grant us from these lights of “TaSeen; tilka ayatul Qur’an wa kitab al mubeen.”
