What Did You Do With the Most Valuable Gift Allah (AJ) Gave to You?
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi.
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Always a reminder for myself ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we are still in existence. Alhamdulillah in this holy month and the reality of this Divinely fire, this Divinely Presence in which Allah (AJ) gives us throughout Holy Qur’an and alhamdulillah awliyaullah (saints) come to define that reality for us, “Taa-Seen; tilka Aayaatul Qur-aan wa Kitaabim Mubeen.”
27:1 – “Taa-Seeen; tilka Aayaatul Qur-aani wa Kitaabim Mubeen.” (Surat al-Naml)
“Taa-Seen, These are verses of the Qur’an, and a Clear Book.” (The Ant, 27:1)
Ma’rifah (Gnosticism) is to Know What Allah (AJ) Loves
That the immensity of Taa-Seen – the purified secret of Allah (AJ) that created this creation in truth. Alhamdulillah this way of ma’rifah is a way into the realities of the Muhammadan reality. That what Allah (AJ) want to give His servants is the reality of what He loves and a secret wanting to be known and this is the way of knowing. That it’s not the knowing of Allah (AJ), it’s the knowing of what Allah (AJ) loves and the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Alhamdulillah this way of awliyaullah that gave to us this understanding and opens its realities of ta and seen;
-
- Ta – Tahir ul Hadi – the purified guide of Allah (AJ) and
- Seen of the Sir and the secret of the knowledge of certainty – Ilm ul Yaqeen, the visions of certainty – Ayn ul Yaqeen and the knowledge and the vision from the heart creates the truth wa Haqq ul Yaqeen (Certainty of Truth).
What is Truth?
So when people are describing the truth, the truth, the truth, what is the truth? Is fluorescent light bulb the truth? Is the sun the truth? All of those are just imitations of a light and this is the way of reaching towards that reality. That there has to be the knowledges of certainty that come from this purified fire, this purified Divinely Presence in which Sayyidina Musa (as) said, ‘I’m going to go and get some knowledge from it, some realities from it and that I’m going to come back with this fire.’
27:7 – “Iz qaala Moosaa li ahliheee inneee aanastu naaran sa’aateekum minhaa bikhabarin aw aateekum bishihaabin qabasil la’allakum tastaloon.” (Surat An-Naml)
Behold! Moses said to his family: “I perceive a fire; soon will I bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand to light our fuel, that ye may warm yourselves.” (The Ant, 27:7)
Our Life is to Achieve the Truth of Certainty
It means anyone who enters into this blessed association, into these blessed lights, it illuminates and that heart of theirs becomes illuminated by that Taa-Seen ﷺ. That they take that torch and the ‘ishq and that love wherever they go and they illuminate all those whom they come in contact with. That purified light when Allah (AJ) dressed its elements and that, ‘This is My most purified light’ and gave to it a ta and gave the reality of that light as an immense secret. So our life is about the Ilm ul Yaqeen; the knowledges of these realities, the Muhammadan realities and it opens itself only by Ayn ul Yaqeen (Vision of Certainty).
What is the Formula to Open the Truth of Certainty?
So then this formula is from Allah (AJ). Those whom try to seek Ilm ul Yaqeen but they don’t practice anything to open their ayn – to open their vision, to open the reality of the heart then how can the knowledge of certainty ever lead to a truth? Right? Because it’s a formula that these knowledges plus the vision of the heart in which you witness the knowledges, you meditate, contemplate and connect with them in the realm of light, it is the formula that equals the Haqq ul Yaqeen – the truth of certainties. So when people describe, ‘Oh how do you know what the truth is?’ Say, ‘The only one who knows the truth is the one whom has the vision of the truth,’ in which their vision through their heart and through the knowledges of reality that they trained in, they trained within their heart to open their heart and to open the vision of the heart so that their heart would be alive
Only by that formula the knowledges of certainty into a vision of certainty and a heart that’s been clean and purified opens the truths of certainty. That that formula, there’s no way around that formula. It means the one whom only wants the knowledge of certainty and doesn’t do anything to open their heart of certainty that they’re not Ahlul Basirah (the people of spiritual vision), that they don’t try to open the vision. Then you can see that whatever they speak is not a truth. Very important. That’s why there’s no reading. There’s no reading somebody’s story, reading somebody’s article. You can read it for your own improvement and for you to think and meditate and contemplate. But the way is not by just the conveyance of Divinely knowledges. Yet you did not open your heart to make the connection and open the heart for the vision of that reality to take place and that you reached a certain level of Divine security in which Allah (AJ) sanctified and certified your reality so that your vision and that knowledge is now a truth for you.
So the ones whom they’re not trying to open the heart then all the knowledge of the truth is just a barakah and a blessings but it’s not opening a truth. Just by mere hearing of it, it doesn’t open the truth for the servant until they Ayn ul Basir, Ayn ul Yaqeen that they’re opening their spiritual vision. So they have to be in an association that teaches these Divine knowledges and then they have to have trained within those associations on how to connect their heart. Once they connect their heart means then all the energies are pushing through, all of the bad characters are being burned and then a light is being sort of pulled into the heart of that servant and that the connection begins to take place. With Ayn ul Yaqeen and the visions of certainty, these knowledges they illuminate and they sprout into the fruits and the realities of the truth of yaqeen – the truth of certainty. As a result of the truth of certainty – it has the infinite bounty of Allah (AJ). That the immensity of the truths of certainty on immense blessings and immense realities.
Who is Kitab al Mubeen (the Clear Book) – Explanation of Holy Qur’an, 27:1
That Allah (AJ) is giving to us everything. “Taa-Seen; tilka Aayaatul Qur-aan” [Holy Qur’an:27:1]. That this fire is the signs of Holy Qur’an and its manifestation which is Kitab al Mubeen, because Qur’an is uncreated. So only Qur’an can give to you its signs and that which is created is the kitab (book). So means that this fire its manifestations, its power, all its realities of Holy Qur’an, these are the sign of Holy Qur’an, is the witnessing of this immense fire. That the clear book in which is the manifestation and the soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ – is the clear book of Allah (AJ) that makes everything to be clear. As a result of that soul all realities and all the heavenly kingdom is flowing from that reality.
So alhamdulillah in this holy month Allah (AJ) describing this kingdom, describing all those who approached this fire, all those who wanted to enter into the fire, all those who were casted into the fire, that every struggle and every difficulty is a symbol of that fire. It means the one whom is in testing and this life is a continuous testing, the one whom is struggling and striving in Allah’s (AJ) way – that is the fire. As long as they can patiently persevere. “Tawasaw bil haqqi wa tawasaw bis Sabr.”
103:3 – “Illal ladheena aamano wa ‘amilos saalihaati, wa tawasaw bil haqqi wa tawasaw bis Sabr. ” (Surat Al-‘Asr)
“Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.” (The Declining Day, 103:1-3)
That it’s a fire that which is hard to explain but when people are saying, ‘Oh I have this problem, this problem, this problem’ – well that is the fire that we’re describing. We’re not saying this is a fire but it’s actually cold. It’s a fire in which to face your fate and walk into it. The one whom is able to continuously walk into that path and walk into that flame is burning everything away. “Tilka Aayaatul Qur’an.” It means the one whom enters is entering into the signs of Holy Qur’an and then they become what? “Ayatun min ayatullah.” That was what was meant by ayatullah (sign of Allah (AJ)) not a title that somebody on Earth calls themselves ayatullah. But you are ayat of ayatun minallah. That, ‘I become the signs of Allah’s (AJ) signs’ because they walk into that flame. The flame is dressing them, blessing them, taking all of what is unnecessary away from them.
Then Allah (AJ) is giving – those who walk the path of truth, their path of truth is paved in patience and perseverance and that’s what the reality of that flame. So we talk about a flame but then people complain that, ‘This is like this, this is like this, why this is like this?’ Well that’s why we’re describing it’s a flame. Allah (AJ) didn’t make it to be a cold bush where everyone could say, ‘Oh I’m entering the presence of a cold bush.’ But Allah (AJ) described – this is a fire.
The Path to Divine Love is Through the Presence of Prophet ﷺ
Fire by its nature burns. Fire by its nature is extremely uncomfortable. The one whom can patiently persevere entering into that flame until Allah (AJ) makes it to be cool and peaceful and that becomes with the love and the coolness and the proximity to the Muhammadan reality; means essential. Without that, that fire incinerates. That’s why there’s no way to enter into that reality without Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. So means the proximity into that fire burns away everything but the coolness of Prophet ﷺ is the barrier and the ability to enter into that. So every difficulty in our physical lives, if the fire is the physical, every difficulty that we have it’s peacefulness and coolness is relieved with the salawat (praises upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) on Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, the love and the ‘ishq of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
As a result the companionship of the Muhammadan light begins to cool us from the difficulties of the flame and that becomes the beautiful nature and the reality of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. That’s what it’s meant and what the Prophets (as) meant when they described that they are the way. It means that if you’re seeking a path towards this fire, towards this Divine love and this Divine guidance, you must keep the dress of the prophetic reality to be in your proximity. It encompasses and encases the believer to make it an entry into coolness. Because by the coolness of Prophet ﷺ and by the heat and the warmth of the fire, the believer has the ability to enter and to survive within that reality and becomes essential for the path. The one who thinks they can enter without the coolness of a prophetic reality then is the one whom enters and burns and that becomes a source of being non-existent and perishing. It’s not possible. That’s why Allah (AJ) gave to us Allah, “La ilaha illAllah Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.”
“La ilaha illallahu Muhammadun Rasulallah”
“There is no deity but Allah, Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
The only way to the reality of La ilaha illAllah is with the dress of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.
Before Asking for Anything, Be Thankful for What You Already Have
So alhamdulillah the more of its immensity, more of the immense, immense blessings of the celebration of the Milad (celebration of the birthday of Prophet ﷺ) and the dress that Allah (AJ) is giving to us on this holy month. Rabi’ul Awwal opens up all these knowledges of how blessed we are that Allah (AJ) allowed us to enter this month, dressed us from the realities of this month. Because He’s opening its knowledges and its fruits. Whether you’re able to absorb them or not just hearing them is a great sign from Allah (AJ) that you are blessed, immensely blessed to be in the association of ‘arifeen (gnostics) and to the association of those whom are lovers of the Divine and so this is an immense blessing.
Before we can ask Allah (AJ) for everything that we want in life, we really don’t appreciate what Allah (AJ) has truly given to us which is this tariqah (spiritual path), which is this way, which is the immensity of the Muhammadan haqqaiq (realities) in which Allah (AJ) gives and says there’s seven billion people on earth and how many sit for the associations of realities of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ? This is an immense gift, an immense blessing. We said before that we have to be thankful for what Allah (AJ) has already given to us instead of asking for so many things and not getting what we want and then becoming upset. All of those is nothing compared to what Allah (AJ) has given.
[Allah (AJ)] say, ‘I gave you a seat at a table of a Muhammad haqqaiq where the prophets (as) of before and the prophets (as) of old times they wished for just a ring and a cane from Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’ Allah (AJ) say, ‘I’m making you from the nation, I’m making you from the bearers of this flag, I’m making you from his reality’ because those whom hear the reality, they enter and draw dear and near to the reality. That Prophet ﷺ described, ‘The people in the last days that will come, they’re my ‘ashiqeen (lovers), they love me and I love them and they would do everything for me for one glance of me.’
‘An Abi Hurairah (ra), ‘Anhu ‘anna Rasulallahu ﷺ qala: “Min ashaddi ummati li hubba, nasun yakunona bi’iddiyi yawdi ahadihim law raani bi ahlihi wa malihi.” [Rawahu Muslim]
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (ra), the messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “The most loving of my nation are those who comes after me, and wish if they could sacrifice their money and family for a glimpse/gaze of me” [Narrated by Imam Muslim]
The Sahabi (Holy Companions of Prophet ﷺ) were astonished, ‘We thought we’re the lovers.’ ‘You’re my companions, you see me all day long. These people have not seen me and they would give everything in their life for a gaze, a real vision of Prophet ﷺ.’ So he gave us the title of ‘ashiqeen and, ‘These are my lovers whom they love me and I love them.’
‘An Ansi bin Malik (ra) Qala, Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ:“Mata alqa Ahbabi? Faqala Ashabuhu: bi abina anta wa ammena, aw lasna ahbabak? Faqala ﷺ : Antum Ashabi, Ahbabi, qawmun lam yarawni wa aamano bi, wa ana ilayhim bil ashwaqil aksar.”
Narrated by Anas Ibn Malik, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “When would I meet my beloveds? The holy companions said: May our fathers and mothers be sacrificed for you, aren’t we your beloveds? The prophet (pbuh) said: you are my companions. My beloveds are those who had never seen me and believed in me. And I am deeply longing for them”. [Source: Musnad Al Ferdaus (4/148).]
Gratitude Over Desires: Understanding the True Gifts from Allah (AJ)
That this is a immense gift before all the things that people want and all the ridiculous things that people want and yet they don’t stop to think that, ‘How I could want anything when You’ve already given me everything?’ That goes back to when Mawlana (Q) would describe they were coming into the presence of an immense king, immense king, [the king says] ‘Ask what you want?’ The king who owns entire Kingdom on Earth, ‘Just ask what you want?’ They’re lining up to ask the king and one came and I said, ‘I want hay, I want hay.’ The king said, ‘I have gold, I have riches, I have the diamonds of the earth bags of them everywhere, you’re coming to me and asking for hay?’
Another story is they came to Mawlana Shaykh (Q), they would line up for du’as (supplications). One came and asked Mawlana (Q) that, ‘Mawlana (Q) please I need gas, I want gas.’ Then Mawlana (Q) looked at him and said, ‘I’m going to make du’a for you to have gas’. ‘No I have a gas station Mawlana (Q) and I need to have lots of gas and sales in my gas station.’ Said, ‘No, I’m going to make there for you to have lots of gas.’ So means you’re coming to the king of all these realities, the king of these awliya, you’re coming to the other king and asking for hay?
It means that this is for us to understand – what are we really asking for and what are we getting upset about? Why are we wondering if our faith is going to be in question or our faith is going to be falling or those, ‘Oh Allah (AJ) does really like me, Allah (AJ) really cares for me, Allah (AJ) really notices me?’ Then you can see how ridiculously humans are that they have the ability to never appreciate what Allah (AJ) has given to them. Because they’re so preoccupied on what they want from Allah (AJ). But it wasn’t about what you wanted from Allah (AJ) but was to be grateful to Allah (AJ) for what He has given to us. Right?
Value the Spiritual Gift of Muhammadan Realities
Even they come from all over the world to come into an association but the person sitting at the association doesn’t care, they don’t understand what they have so they sit in there and sleep because people don’t appreciate what they have. But somebody thinking from 5,000 miles away, ‘I will give everything shaykh if you could write a letter so I could get a visa to come and spend two weeks at the center and train.’ But the person whom can drive there in 10 minutes goes and sleeps. Well because this is human nature to not appreciate what you have and we show our lack of appreciation in everything that we do.
So then this is a revival for myself and for anyone who’s listening – before you ask for anything, think about what Allah (AJ) has given to you. He’s given us a seat at these haqqaiq. If we die right now with this reality – this is the most immense reality. That all of humanity all they can want is that they came to this earth and Allah (AJ) dressed them with the Muhammadan haqqaiqs and that they’ve be resurrected with those realities in the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Not your money, not your house, not your jobs, not your wife, your children or anything else will get you that ticket. But people are more interested in praying for that than to understand what Allah (AJ) has truly given us.
If we really understood what Allah (AJ) has given to us, we would have done everything to magnify and glorify that reality. That’s what sets us apart from those whom know. Their whole life is how to magnify that reality. How what we call ta’zim (honour) – magnifying the greatness of the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ everywhere. It means take these realities and make ten social media accounts. Why you have to make one? Make ten and propagate this reality, propagate these realities, send these knowledges everywhere and this is called Ta’zim un Nabi ﷺ (honouring the Prophet ﷺ). This is all our life was supposed to be for. All of the extras are literally extra. If you got more money, alhamdulillah. If you got this, you go alhamdulillah but the real goal and the real prize was this love and ‘ishq of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
If Allah (AJ) gave that to us to sit there to be a custodian of that knowledge, custodian of that reality, the real question is Allah’s (AJ) not going to ask you about your accounting, your money, your bank accounts but He is, ‘What you do with the knowledges that you were given? What did you do with the association that you were placed in? What did you do with these haqqaiqs and these realities of My most beloved Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ? What did you do with them?’ These are honours and the jewels of entire universes. That all of creation is in search of these realities. The real question Allah (AJ) is going to ask is, ‘What did we do with them?’
Why the Shaykhs are So Active in Propagating Muhammadan Haqqaiq?
That’s why the shaykhs are active, that’s why the shaykhs non-stop pushing out social media, pushing out videos, pushing out whatever they can. Because they know that’s the only question Allah (AJ) going to ask them. ‘We gave it to you and what did you do with?’ So Mawlana Shaykh (Q) would describe, ‘If Allah (AJ) opens for you, are you planning on sitting on it like it’s an egg and hoping it’s going to hatch?’ Just take what has been given to you, you don’t really care about it and you just sit on it. Then you’re going to be questioned. Then a barakah (blessing) can become something else in life. You know when it rains it’s a barakah but if it keep raining on your head all day and night it becomes a flood.
So it means that we’re accountable for what Allah (AJ) has opened for us. That’s why the shaykhs are inspiring – go feed people, go give out some food, go take these articles and post them so that it will be written for you that you came across these realities and you tried your best to spread them and that you gave food and charity as a protection and a shield from any type of difficulty and any type of wrongdoings. So this is an entire formula to be dressed by the realities of this month.
Real Gift is the Love of Prophet ﷺ
I’m reminding myself always and anybody who cares to listen, the real gift is this Love of Prophet ﷺ, they granted us to see the 12th of Rabi’ul Awwal, to participate in a large way more than what common people participate. To even participate with orphanages – six orphanages coming for a grand Milad, program for the orphans in India. All of these written upon SMC and the community whom support – this was Allah’s (AJ) gift. Said, ‘I gave you this. I could have taken all of that off your name and I could have given it to anyone else.’ But when Allah (AJ) loves you, this is the gift He gives not the cash in the bank, not all the other things that people want. This was the gift. Why? Because this is a gift that keeps on giving.
When the believer is astonished on the day that he takes his last breath and he’s raised into an immense presence, he’s raised into the company of those whom are immensely blessed and be astonished like the na’at (prophetic praising) that, ‘How I got here?’ Where you thought it was your degree you got there by or the things you did at job and work sites and you go to that table like that? Or it was the khidmat (service), the love and the Milad and the associations and the and the associations with all these practices and all this love and ‘ishq.
The Difference Between Awliyaullah and Common People
That’s when they understand how much Prophet ﷺ loved them, led them into those associations, granted them to love him, to mention Allah’s (AJ) Name by permission of Allah (AJ) – that was your gift.
24:36 – “Fee buyotin adhina Allahu an turfa’a wa yudhkara feeha ismuhu…” (Surat An-Nur)
“Lit is such a Light) in houses which Allah has permitted to be raised to honour; and that His name be mentioned therein...” (The Light, 24:36)
That’s why it’s a shame if somebody died in a state in which they keep thinking they wanted something from Allah (AJ) but they don’t really understand what Allah (AJ) really gave to them. The difference between awliya and common people is that awliya and those whom been trained by them they know that was the only gift, that was the only gift that had of any benefit, any consequence. That’s why at any moment they’re prepared to die because they got their gift, they knew that love and that love was the only thing that was important. Their love and their life was to propagate that love and that’s it.
That they want to be raised in the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ having achieved that love, propagating that love, honouring and respecting that love for our life; means nothing else. Nothing else is of any importance. To be raised not knowing what we were given as a gift is very shameful and that’s why they ask us to open our hearts, ‘Remember what Allah (AJ) has given to you’ and that that’s what the secret was, that was what the gift. Honour that gift, nourish that gift, talk good with people, respect people, honour the position that Allah (AJ) has given to us, honour the knowledge Allah (AJ) has given to us, be an ambassador of ‘ishq and love and propagate this immense love. We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us with the immensity of Rabi’ul Awwal and that the reality of Taa-Seen ﷺ flourish within our hearts, within our homes, our children, and our communities.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
