Nafas ur Rahmah (The Breath of Mercy) – Divine Lifeline Sent for the Earthly Bound Q&A
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi.
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the rejected one
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Question 1: Sayyidi what is the barzakh (purgatory) and can we travel there in the dunya (material world) lifetime? JazakAllah Khairun dear Sayyidi, you changed my life.
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: Allah (AJ) bless you. Barzakh is a world of light or the world of the grave. Travel there? You can… I don’t know if there’s a traveling there for normal people but to witness one’s own grave is important.
That to meditate and contemplate at times and asking Allah (AJ) that, ‘Make this to be my grave and that let me to clean my grave and my station within the grave.’ Again at Ramadan the last 10 days itqun minan naar (freedom from fire) is again a meditation time for that reality. I think we have the talks on Muhammadan Way – the website about khalwah and seclusion. Then you watch and read those articles about the khalwah (seclusion) and understand how to make intention for seclusion and learning how to seclude oneself daily. As soon as I come home from work or late at night that you make intention for seclusion and begin the practices of meditating and contemplating within the space we have. Visualizing the grave at times and that you want that place to be clean, that want the condition of the grave to be illuminated, inshaAllah.
Question 2: Sayyidi I tend to be interested in world history but there was some heartache about World War I and World War II. How can one use an interest like this to serve the tariqah (spiritual path)?
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: ‘I have an interest in world history and how to serve the tariqah with the interest in world history’ – is to know that whatever we learned in world history is incorrect and that history is actually ‘His – h-i-s’ ‘Story – s-t-o-r-y.’ So we haven’t come across a history-story that is correct.
You go to one country and they say that the Indians were in the way and we got rid of them and they were attacking us. Go to the other side of the street and ask the Indians what they felt about you when you came here. Yeah, they say, ‘You guys came, you started to eat all of us and attack all of us.’ So history is going to be based on who’s writing it and what point of view they have from their side and they’re always victorious in their own point of view. So I didn’t put too much understanding upon history.
The most important history is from at-Tabari, Islamic history and the haqqaiqs and realities. I think Muhammad Jabbar Tabari is the sort of chronological documentation of Islamic history from the Islamic perspective of all the Prophets (as) of Allah (AJ) from the beginning of the creation of Nurul Muhammad ﷺ (Light of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) all the way until the risalat (prophecy) of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. So that type of history of Islamic history has to do, and from the Islamic perspective, has to do with a very correct understanding of the heavenly kingdom and what Allah (AJ) has sent from the heavenly kingdom.
The problem with the dunya history is very dunya-oriented. Right? So now after we discussed this that 70,000 Prophets (as) of Allah (AJ) were dark-skinned. Where is that written? In none of their history they talk about this reality. So, what of their history are we to understand and to document as a truth? So as soon as we study things that are not truthful and how to distern or discern the truth is itself its own job. That you have to spend lifetimes reading through all their things, re-verify everything they said. For what? It’s a waste of time because the dunya is dying. So our path to illumination is through the heavenly realities.
That’s why anyone who likes academia and studying, go to Muhammadan Way [website] and choose a section on huroof (Arabic letters), choose a reality on the meditation, tafakkur (contemplation) or any of the realities that are being taught. Read sort of enthusiastically and immerse yourself in those realities. Those realities if you study just a little bit of them, they have an eternal fountain that will illuminate the heart for all of eternity. Now ‘This Indian came and that cowboy did this’ – it has nothing for us in paradise, nothing. As a matter of fact, you become more confused. They didn’t even go to the moon. So what do you want to read about and put all your faith in?
So for us if we spend the time that we have and illuminate ourself towards heavenly teachings, they can eternally blossom fruits within our soul. Because you die with that knowledge. Every time you pick up and begin just to read one, two lines of it, Allah (AJ) is expanding it when you sleep. So why spend the time on something that has no value, not for your eternal value and not for your dunya because your dunya will be confused. Whatever these people taught was very confusing. None of it is real and anything we study from the reality, it eternally blossoms within the soul and our eternal journey, we take it with us when we go, inshaAllah.
Question 3: As we approach the Hajj (pilgrimage), how can we discern if when we are called to the Prophet’s ﷺ grave and the Ka’bah? How do we know it’s our time to make the pilgrimage?
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: You have to get the Hajj book [Secret Realities of Hajj]. Get the Hajj reality book, get the meditation book [A Timeless Reality].
That you should be meditating every night and going to the presence of Prophet ﷺ. Why you have to wait for Hajj to be called? The calling is now! So it means that anyone who’s listening to these talks, every night and especially the talks last night was teaching that your breath is from Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ, it is why it was called ‘Nafas ur Rahmah’ (the Breath of Mercy) because the ‘Mercy’ and “Rahmatal lil’alameen” (mercy to the worlds/creation) is breathing into your lungs.
21:107 – “Wa maa arsalnaka illa Rahmatal lil’alameen.” (Surat Al-Anbiya)
“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad (pbuh)], except as a mercy to the worlds/creation.” (The Prophets, 21:107)
When you don’t want the air of shaitan (satan) and don’t want the air from dunya and you begin to make your tafakkur, a mask from the heavens will come and come upon your reality and begin to teach you to breathe from their presence. Then you’re understanding now in this reality who’s breathing into you. Because this is a Nafas ur Rahmah – this is a breath from the all mercy. Who’s Allah’s (AJ) mercy?
So means then we begin to understand that this is an immense love and ‘ishq of Prophet ﷺ. So it means every night is meditating, every night is contemplating, every salah (daily prayer) you’re in the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, ‘As salaamu ‘alayka ayyuhan Nabi ya Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem (The Most Generous Messenger) ya Habibul ‘Azim (The Magnificent Beloved) unzur halana wa ishfa’lana (gaze upon my condition and intercede for me).’ That, ‘Gaze upon my condition and that my face upon the ground, my face at your feet. That represent me to Allah (AJ) and perfect my character.’ So every moment is a dialogue with Prophet ﷺ.
When that connection is strong, the love and the yearning is strong, the invitation is already there. Why did then you need an invitation? You needed only an excuse to spend the money, get the ticket and go. So it’s already there, you go. Those who don’t have that ability and even if they have the ability, every moment they’re meditating and contemplating and seeing themselves at the feet of Prophet ﷺ, trying to by being and keeping the adab (manners) that they’re at the Rauza e Sharif (holy burial chamber) and in the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. So that, that is a given inshaAllah. They don’t need a special invitation.
Look at then the other way. If Prophet ﷺ is allowing you to hear this teaching then you’re accountable for the teaching. That, why he allowed you out of 8 billion people on Earth to hear these realities or hear this reality? Why? What is it that he wants from you? Did you accomplish that? Most likely no. So it means that we are accountable. When we say that, ‘Ya Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem, how Allah (AJ) gave me this ability to hear this reality, to even understand that this breath when I meditate and contemplate from paradise is that you will sustain me.’
We said before – on earth you’re dead. Don’t think you’re alive, you’re actually the walking dead people. If this Earth could be understood is like a pool. Anyone who comes onto Earth, they’re like in a swimming pool that you think they’re alive, they’re actually dead. Only when they die in that pool will Prophet ﷺ come and revive them. So this is what you call like a oxymoron or a understanding people don’t understand. You think you’re alive, “Hayyul minal mayt, mayt al minal hay (living from dead, dead from living).” That there’s a deception happening. You think you’re alive. You say, ‘No, I’m alive.’ Say, ‘No, you’re actually very much dead.’ Because if you were alive, you would have been alive.
Mawt qablil mawt (death of desires before physical death). Only by the time we surrender and die in this physical world means we lose the desire, we meditate, contemplate, the yearning overtakes, the yearning becomes so heavy that they don’t find that enjoyment in this world. That, what happens? When they die in this world, who revives them from the hereafter? That’s the one whom comes and resuscitates into their breath ‘Hu’ [Shaykh exhales]. It means the nafas (breath) of Prophet ﷺ takes them from the death of this world that they operate in into the oceans of Hayat (ever-living) and these are the oceans and the servants of eternity.
How he described his holy companions who were extreme lovers? Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (as), why? That he says: ‘Look at Sayyidina Abu Bakr as Siddiq (as) the one whom died before he died.’ It means the life of this world left them and what Allah (AJ) gave to them is the life of the hereafter. Which is what? The breath of Prophet ﷺ within their being and he sustains their entire breath. They breathe in from that nafas and why we call ‘Nafas ur Rahmah’, the mercy. The most merciful breath that Allah (AJ) can send to creation is from the breath of Prophet ﷺ in which every knowledge, every reality, every Hayat, everything within it is sustaining in that reality.
So means then this is the accomplishment. Allah (AJ) gave us this by just tuning into this channel [The Muhammadan Way Sufi Realities], by following this shaykh, by understanding from these knowledges. Then Allah (AJ) is going to ask and hold us to account that, ‘What did you do with it?’ When you knew that your breath and the potential breath that would sustain you would be from Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ, did you try to achieve it? In which you meditate so much and contemplate and ‘Ya Rabbi I don’t want anything from this, I die from this,’ it doesn’t mean you don’t have anything. You may have everything on Earth but none of them compared to anything to the Presence of Allah (AJ) and the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
So Allah (AJ) can give them everything but in the presence of Prophet ﷺ none of it is of any value, it diminishes to nothingness. Their life was to train, neither trade nor business or commerce diverts them from the remembrance of Allah (AJ). Doesn’t mean they won’t have trade and business because the companions were immensely wealthy, they were merchants that traveled the world and established Islam on every continent. But Allah (AJ) describes that, ‘Neither trade or business diverted them from the remembrance.’
(Surat An-Nur)
“By men of God (Rijalullah) whom neither business/commerce nor sale distracts (them) from the remembrance of Allah and performance of prayer and giving of regular Charity. Their (only) fear is for a Day in which the hearts and eyes will be transformed/turn about (in a world wholly new).” (The Light, 24:37)
Why? Because when that connection is connected and the ‘ishq and love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ overwhelms their being, it has no comparison to anything from this earth. So then Allah (AJ) holds to account then, ‘What did you do to achieve that?’ Then that’s why they come and teach – go out and give food, go do the Milad (celebration of the birthday of Prophet ﷺ). When the Milad comes, this is a huge celebration for us because this is the point of the nuqt (dot). That, ‘For the sake of this Milad Ya Rabbi open my heart with an immense light, open my being and my wujud (existence) with an immense light, let me to be one of those recipients of Nafas ur Rahmah in which every breath is coming.’
How the shaykh is speaking knowledges? Where he’s taking that from? It means every breath coming in from Prophet ﷺ are all of the ‘uloom and the knowledges that are coming out. They don’t have anything from themselves. It’s not like something is recorded somewhere but it is that very breath that gives them power, it is that very breath that gives them life, it is that very breath that gives every knowledge, every ‘uloom, every shifa and every healing, every du’a (supplication). Everything about that reality is because the breath of the merciful whom Allah (AJ) dressed His rahmah and His mercy. Allah’s (AJ) promise was, “Wa maa arsalnaka illa Rahmatal lil’alameen.” – ‘I would not have sent the reality of Prophet ﷺ except that he’s a mercy to you.’
21:107 – “Wa maa arsalnaka illa Rahmatal lil’alameen.” (Surat Al-Anbiya)
“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad (pbuh)], except as a mercy to the worlds/creation.” (The Prophets, 21:107)
So of course then he is the ‘Merciful breath’ and the ones whom encompass that mercy, their duty is to dispense that mercy. Allah (AJ) says, ‘I wouldn’t have sent it if it wasn’t for that sake.’ So it’s the very sake of that mercy that everyone is gathering, everyone is meditating, everyone is contemplating exactly what Allah (AJ) wanted because it would have been a waste of time then. If nobody wanted to catch the mercy, to live in the mercy, to be dressed by the lights of its mercy then Allah (AJ) reverse is that, ‘Why would I have sent it except that it was a mercy to your creation.’
So this is an immense gift from Allah (AJ), inshaAllah. That to live this life to unlock its realities and then to hold ourselves to account. That’s why we do what we do, that’s why we take the abuse that we take, that’s why we go everywhere that we’re supposed to go, we do everything that we’re supposed to do, we spend what we’re supposed to spend, we broadcast what we’re supposed to broadcast, we feed who we’re supposed to feed. Why? So the merciful eyes and the merciful breath ‘Unzur halana, unzur halana wa ishfa’lana’ that, ‘Please with your beatific face ya Wajhi hil Karim (The Holy Face of The Most Generous) that gaze upon me and that intercede for my condition – my haal, unzur halana. That you see my haal and my state and that you can only fix my condition. By nazar e kareem (the gaze of generosity) that through the light and the realities that come through your eyes, dress me from nur (light), dress me from eternal Hayat. From the power of your breath and every knowledge that comes from your lisan (tongue), dress my breath, dress my tongue.’ With all-hearing [right ear] and all-seeing [left ear] from all these seven points they’re asking from Prophet ﷺ to dress them and bless them and continuously be in a state of that dress.
We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us from the immensity, “Subhana man zul Mulki wal Malakut” in this month of 11, Giyarwee Sharif (Eleventh of Rabi’ul Thani (Urs of Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani)) and the secrets of the Qadir (power) and the Qadiri (people from the Ocean of Power) and Shaykh Abdul Qadir (Q) and all the shaykhs of the oceans of power. That this is immense, immense realities of the Zulfiqar (sword of Imam Ali (as)) in which La ilaha illAllah can only be opened its reality by Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.
Subhana zul Mulki wal Malakut.
(Glory be to the Owner of the earthly and the heavenly Kingdoms)
“La ilaha illallahu Muhammadun Rasulallah”
“There is no deity but Allah, Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
