I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the rejected one
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
﴾أَطِيعُواللَّه وَأَطِيعُوٱلرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْكُمْ… ﴿٥٩…
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat An-Nisa)
“… Obey Allah, Obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Always a reminder always for myself ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but by the Grace of Allah (AJ) that we are still alive that Allah’s (AJ) rahmah and mercy be upon us. InshaAllah and that we took a path in which to be nothing.
Rabi’ul Awwal is the Month of Mawlid un Nabi ﷺ – Success is with a Team
Alhamdulillah the blessed month of Mawlid un Nabi ﷺ (celebration of the birthday of Prophet ﷺ) the milad. That we survived Safar and Allah (AJ) granted us a life in which to see this holy month and its holy lights. That we are here as a symbol of many people who are supporting and helping. Many people online who are helping, Allah (AJ) bless you, dress you, and that they keep us all under the nazar (gaze) of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Translating articles, working, doing, supporting, giving, everything that makes the whole operation to succeed. Not by one but by many. And when many work as one, then there is success. You know like the ant.
Be Like an Ant and Don’t Use Your Head
We were talking in the office today, say why is the ant so important that Allah (AJ) made a whole surah (chapter) regarding the ant. It’s because its importance is that it has no head. The bigger the head, the bigger the problem. The bigger the head, the more it thinks it knows something, it can do something. And thinks through all of its maghz (brain) and its head that it’s something.
Allah (AJ) gives us isharat (sign) and gives us an understanding, no, no, this ant you don’t even know its front and its back is which side. But that ant can lift ten times its weight. That ant as a community acts as an entire movement. They come together, they work together, they have a mentality in which they operate as one but there may be millions and thousands, hundreds of thousands of them.
The Army of Sulaiman (as) and an Ant’s Calling
Then Allah (AJ) in this holy month is the third lunar month with the power of 9 is 27. Surat an Naml is the 27th Surah of Holy Qu’ran. The first understanding of that holy month is that the armies of Sayyidina Sulaiman (Prophet Solomon)(as), when they were marching the armies of Sayyidina Sulaiman (as). Allah (AJ) gives even an ayat (verse) to show its immense importance. That the ants yelled to each other, the commander of the ants came out ‘Oh ants enter into your homes, the armies of Sayyidina Sulaiman are now moving.’
27:18 – “Hattaa izaa ataw ‘alaa waadin namli qaalat namlatun yaa ayyuhan namlud khuloo masaakinakum laa yahtimannakum Sulaimaanu wa junoodu hoo wa hum laa yash’uroon.” (Surat An Naml)
“Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, “O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not.” (The Ant, 27:18)
With What Power the Ant Spoke to its Community?
What power did the ant have? Because there was no microphone for the ant world. With what power the ant gave a command that enter into your homes. How far was the command? Because imagine now the size of Sayyidina Sulaiman’s (as) army, his whole army fit on a carpet and the carpet went into the air. The immensity of the army of Sayyidina Sulaiman (as). So what was the area being covered by this ant? And with power he spoke to all his community and they entered into their homes to seek refuge. So that Allah (AJ) didn’t want them crushed and the prophet of Allah (AJ) wanted them to be safe. That power is what this tafakkur is supposed to be opening.
La Ilaha Illallah is the First Zikr of Our Spiritual Path
That the bigger the head, the bigger the problem, the bigger the thinking that oh I can accomplish something. It’s actually this way of meditation and tafakkur, the first zikr is ‘La’ (to head), ‘ilaha’ (to right of the right breast), ‘illallah’ (to the heart). “Illallah,” to the heart, because you see me in the opposite direction if you’re watching online. You’re going to bring your breath (shaykh inhales) this holy breath, nafas ur Rahmah (the Breath of Mercy), this is a breath in which Allah (AJ) is sustaining all creation. This breath comes in (shaykh breathes in), you move the lights and the energy of that breath up (from the stomach to your head). When it comes to the head it opens a secret of Lam-alif and la.
The Battle is Between Our Head and Our Heart
This way is not based on the head. Your head is actually blocking everything from the reality. So, this battle is between your head and your heart. As much as your head is strong, it will try to suffocate the heart. So, means then the whole objective is to take the head off. Stop using the head, not physically take your head off, because some people watching oh look shaykh just said take your heads off (shaykh laughs). But there must be also an understanding. Why in last days Allah (AJ) is showing all these people with heads off? Right? Every time these gangs get together, all these heads go flying. They didn’t need them in the first-place because they use the head for the wrong understanding.
You Can’t Find God with Your Head
So, means the first steps of tafakkur, the first zikr (chanting) of every tariqah (spiritual path) la ilaha illallah, La (Shaykh points to the head). Ilaha (shaykh points to the right breast), Illallah (shaykh points to the heart). You bring the breath, the energy up (shaykh points to forehead), ‘la’, that this way is not based on my head, not based on the logic of my understanding of my mind. How you’re going to find your mind and how you’re going to find God with your mind? So, Prophet ﷺ told companions leave your head outside and come in. Your head for your work, for your day to day activities, what to choose for your groceries, not to find Allah (AJ). You bring this energy to the head, shut the head off. Ya Rabbi bring this energy and begin to make my head like no head person. Then Mawlana Shaykh (Q) would say, ‘Oh you are like a no-mind person.’ Which was actually a compliment, because they didn’t want you to use your mind. The mind is way too active, the mind will block everything. The miracle will not open through the mind. The miracle of God opens through faith and the heart.
Our Body is a Perfect Symmetry of Our Spiritual Reality in Heaven
So, they keep making la ilaha. Then the reality of ilaha (shaykh points to right breast) there’s a Divine power because my life is the symmetry of my mirror. I’m not really appearing here like this. The mirror of my reality is on that side and the heart is
on that side (shaykh points at right side). This is merely our reflection on this earth (shaykh points to body), my reality is like this (shaykh puts right hand above left hand with fingers touching). Everything is on the opposite. So, we wont go into that tonight what that means. But la ilaha and then bring all the energy and the qudra (power) of what’s on your right breast move that light into the heart “illallah.” There is nothing but Allah, “il lallah, il lallah, il lallah.” And they breathe and you can sit for your tafakkur.
Science of Meditation Has Different Aspects
Because all of this ocean and science of meditation, tafakkur has many different aspects. One, is to learn how to connect. One is to learn how to breathe. One is now how to begin to move the energy. That when you’re breathing in, you can sit and say for a hundred times, “La ilaha illallah.” So, when you get to your award (daily practices) in your zikr, when you get to La ilaha illallah, you go, “La (shaykh points to head), ilaha (shaykh looks to right breast), illallah (shaykh looks to heart). La ilaha illallah, La ilaha illallah.” They even recommend hold your breath in your zikr, “La ilaha illallah, La ilaha illallah, La ilaha illallah (shaykh chants in one breath).” How long can you go, holding your breath?
Shut Off the Head and Use the Heart, it has Infinite Capacity to Find God
Alhamdulillah that all these different realities in the zikr, in the breathing all of that is based on tafakkur. All of that based on the ocean of meditation, how to unlock the greater reality. We are bound in our physicality. The biggest lock of the physicality is the head. The head is telling us what our limitation is but, the heart has infinite capacity to find Allah (AJ). The heart is the house of faith, the abode of faith. So, means everything that we’re doing is to shut the head and bring the heart.
That’s why then all the testing, all the interaction with the shaykhs is that shut your head off. And everything you do with them is you actually want to think through your head with them. You say, ‘oh, you don’t understand.’ Oh, excuse me, of course they understand. If he’s a shaykh, he even knows what’s in your heart, just by his firasah (spiritual vision) that Allah (AJ) gave to him. We gave the holy hadith number 25, ‘They hear with my hearing.’
“…, wa la yazaalu ‘Abdi yataqarrabu ilayya bin nawafile hatta ahebahu, fa idha ahbabtuhu kunta Sam’ahul ladhi yasma’u behi, wa Basarahul ladhi yubsiru behi, wa Yadahul lati yabTeshu beha, wa Rejlahul lati yamshi beha, wa la in sa alani la a’Teyannahu, …”
“…My servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary acts of worship so that I shall love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him…” Hadith Qudsi (Sahih al-Bukhari, 81:38:2)
The Shaykh Can Look Into Your Soul With His Spiritual Vision – Firasah
You’re talking about Allah’s (AJ) power when you’re in the presence of these awliyaullah (saints), that’s why best to keep your mouth quiet. You say, ‘You don’t know.’ What do you mean you don’t know? They’re not hearing with Allah’s (AJ) hearing? ‘Oh, you don’t see, we are different people, I come from different land, I’m different person.’ What are you talking about? They look right in with their soul and they go right in where your soul. They know what your soul is saying, what your nafs (ego) is saying, and the lie that comes from your lip. Otherwise why Allah (AJ) sent them (saints) out for guidance, 124,000 on this earth, not one.
Allah (AJ) Loads His ‘Abd (Servant) With Immense Realities
Allah (AJ) didn’t send them empty, what kind of lord would be that? ‘I granted you my friendship and you go out completely bare handed, go free good luck I hope that they don’t kill you.’ No, Allah (AJ) say, ‘When I grant you my friendship,’ and that’s what we talked before, Allah (AJ) make you a rijal (mature) you’re in training. When Allah (AJ) make you ‘abd, servanthood is not a slave here. Servanthood, Allah (AJ) ‘I am going to dress you with my ancient ‘ayn, you’re going to have an ‘ayn and all my ancient ‘aleem, all my ancient knowledges will be flowing through you. I’m going to grant you a ba because you’re going to be from the people of that baab (door). This ba opens, “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem,” into the city of all knowledges. Then I give you the daal and you’re going to guide, I’m going to give you every type of dress upon this reality.’
Think Outside the Box – Think With Your Heart
So, mean they’re not coming empty into this world. When Allah (AJ) is granting a servant servanthood He’s dressing them, blessing them, filling them, loaded “Fulkil mashhoon.”
﴾وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ ﴿٤١
36:41– “Wa ayatul lahum anna hamalna dhurriyyatahum fil fulkil mashhooni. (41)” (Surat YaSeen)
“And a sign for them is that we have carried their atoms/forefathers in the loaded ship. (41) (YaSeen, 36:41)
They are the loaded ships that move upon this earth to guide people, back to that reality. Means then they learn how to shut the head, don’t use the head, turn off the head. Open the heart to the lights of faith and that’s only through the interaction with the guides and the teachers. That they’re constantly teaching in a way that challenges what your head is thinking. And they want you to think outside of the box of your brain but think with your heart and your faith. InshaAllah.
