Emptying the Self to Enter the Light: The Magnetic Path to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
This Article Has Been Translated
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi.
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُم… ﴿٥٩﴾ …
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
In a time when the world is saturated with distractions, egoism, and hollow expressions of faith, the path of reality (haqqaiq) offered through the Muhammadan Way is a divine mercy for souls yearning to return to their origin. Sayyidi Mawlana Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi (Q), one of the distinguished saints of our time, continuously brings forth oceans of heavenly knowledge, guiding the sincere seeker to awaken their soul through humility, discipline, love, and connection to the soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Today’s teaching is a brilliant tapestry of spiritual physics, Qur’anic truth, and living connection—revealing the steps one must take to purify the self, cut attachments, and enter the ocean of prophetic nearness. Let us journey through these realities in one cohesive flow.
The Declaration of Nothingness
At the heart of the spiritual path is a confession that is not just verbal, but existential:
“I am nothing, Ya Rabbi. Whatever You’ve given to me, I am taking a life to empty my cup. Grant me more from Your oceans of reality.”
This declaration of nothingness (fana) is not low self-esteem; it is the highest nobility of servanthood. It means recognizing that:
- Any beauty we possess is nothing compared to Divine Beauty.
- Any knowledge is a drop before Divine Oceans.
- Any wealth is dust compared to the treasures of the unseen.
When we become truly empty, the Divine fills us. When we think we are “something,” the flow of light stops.
The Battle of the Heart: Who Owns You?
Allah (AJ) declares in the Qur’an:
مَّا جَعَلَ اللَّـهُ لِرَجُلٍ مِّن قَلْبَيْنِ فِي جَوْفِهِ ۚ … ﴿٤﴾
33:4 – “Ma ja’ala Allahu lirajulin min Qalbayni fee jawfihi…” (Surat Al-Ahzab)
“Allah has not made for a man two hearts in his interior…” (The Combined Forces, 33:4)
Shaykh Nurjan (Q) explains that this is not merely a poetic statement, but a spiritual law. The heart of a man must be singularly for Allah. It cannot serve both the Creator and the desires of the ego.
- Social media, games, fashion, and approval of others — these become false lords.
- If you are addicted or emotionally attached to them, they are ruling you.
- The more these lords take root, the more magnetism to the Divine is lost.
The woman, as taught in Divine Wisdom, has been assigned a different structure of ibadah (worship) in serving her husband and nurturing her children. But for the man, the path of direct spiritual discipline is clear: serve only Allah.
Worship and Contemplation: The Greatest Ibadah
Shaykh Nurjan (Q) emphasizes that the highest form of worship in this time is tafakkur, deep spiritual contemplation.
- It is not enough to pray or fast if the heart is filled with distractions.
- Worship must be with presence, with soul, with yearning.
- Every day is a battle between your love for Allah and the desires trying to replace Him.
The Shaykh reminds us that we cannot claim to serve Allah while simultaneously being addicted to other things. That split allegiance blocks Divine light.
Why Cut Desires? The Science of the Soul
Drawing from atomic science, Shaykh (Q) explains:
“For atoms to bond, they must release an electron. Likewise, for you to bond with the Muhammadan Light ﷺ, you must release negativity.”
It’s a spiritual electromagnetic principle:
- Negative energies (sins, ego traits) act like repelling charges.
- To attract and connect to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, the soul must be cleaned of those energies.
- Desires, attachments, and unclean habits are barriers to Divine bonding.
So, the teaching is simple: “Drop the negative charge, and you will connect to the Muhammadan Light.”
The Shaykh: A Living Muhammadan Magnet
A true shaykh is not a philosopher or motivational speaker. He is a living Muhammadan magnet.
- If you have light in your soul, you feel an instant pull.
- If you are overwhelmed by negativity, you feel a repelling force.
That reaction is not intellectual — it is energetic.
Shaykh Nurjan (Q) clarifies: “It’s not that you’re clever or unimpressed. It’s your bad energy repelling you.”
Yet, the mercy of this path is so great that even those who are initially repelled often find themselves drawn back months later, as their soul awakens and burns away impurities.
Not Just Physical Madina: Spiritual Presence of Prophet ﷺ
Many seek to physically travel to Madina. But the Shaykh teaches us a deeper reality: “Your soul can enter into the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ from anywhere on Earth.”
But only under conditions:
- The soul must be cleaned with spiritual wudu.
- Durood Sharif (praising on Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) must be constant.
- Tafakkur (contemplation) must become your spiritual breath.
Physical wudu (ablution) is important — but spiritual wudu is essential. Forbidden actions done in private corrupt the soul, even if the body appears clean.
Durood Sharif: The Zero-Point Launch
Every salawat is a zero-point energy ignition instantly propelling the soul toward the Muhammadan Reality.
The seeker who continuously recites with:
- Clean character
- Contemplation
- Sincerity
…will find their soul swimming in the ocean of mercy, basking in the warmth of that Prophetic sun ﷺ.
Why Bring the Body to Madina?
Once the soul is already connected and polished through years of tafakkur (contemplation) and service, then bringing the physical body to Madina becomes:
- A blessing
- A completion
- A gift for the grave, so that even the body is dressed with the tajalli of mercy
This visit becomes not the beginning, but a culmination of a long spiritual journey already undertaken by the soul.
The Real Meaning of Submission
“You say you believe, but your actions tell us what you submit to.”
If something has control over you (addiction, desire, vice), you are not yet submitted. But that’s okay — recognition begins the healing.
This is why tariqah is necessary:
- It trains you in discipline
- It gives you the tools to cut false lords
- It guides you to the Lord Most High and His Light on Earth: Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
Conclusion: Entering the Ocean of Mercy
The path to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is not traveled by feet — it is journeyed by the soul.
And that soul must be:
- Polished
- Purified
- Drawn by love
- Activated by salawat
With good character, daily muraqabah, consistent durood, and service to the Shaykh, the soul is granted perpetual nearness to Prophet ﷺ. And when the time comes, even the body will be allowed to approach and be dressed by the tajalli of that divine proximity.
Let us empty ourselves of everything that is false, so we may be filled with what is eternal.
Ya Rabbi, in our nothingness, grant us Your satisfaction. Let us serve no lord but You. Grant us nearness to the Light of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. And keep us always in the shadow and training of the ulul amr, the Muhammadan saints of Your Path. Ameen.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
