Be With the Best of Company to Reach the Holy Ka’bah
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ. Madad Ya Sayyidi Ya Sultanul Awliya (King of Saints) Mawlana Shaykh Abdullahil Faiz ad Daghestani (Q), Sultan Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil Haqqani (Q), Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani (Q), Shaykh Adnan Kabbani (Q), Shaykh Muhammad Adil (Q), wa Abdul Khaliq al Gujdawani (Q), Sahib Zaman Sayyidina Muhammad al Mahdi (as), RuhAllah Sayyidina Isa (as), Sayfullah Sayyidina Ali (as) thumma Sayyidina Abu Bakr as Siddiq (as), Sayyidina Umar (as), Sayyidina Uthman (as), Imam al Hassan (as), Imam al Hussain (as), Sayyidatina Fatimatul Zahra (as), wa sayiri wa sadatina wa Siddiqin. Atiullah wa atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum. Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Allah (AJ) Bestows His Favours on the Prophets, Truthful, Martyrs and Righteous (Holy Qur’an, 4:69)
InshaAllah, we start with this holy month of hajj (pilgrimage) and the immensities of the beginning of hajj with surah 4:69, inshaAllah. Hajji Shahid, let’s recite that one. Then Junaid. Junaid, we do line by line, slow, so we can inject our tafsir (interpretation) in there. InshaAllah, Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem.
Reciter: “A’uzu Billahi Minash shaitanir Rajeem Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem. Wa man yuti’ Allaha war Rasola faolayeka ma’al ladheena an’ama Allahu ‘alayhim minan Nabiyeena, was Siddiqeena, wash Shuhadayi, was Saliheena wa hasuna olayeka rafeeqan.”
4:69 – “Wa man yuti’ Allaha war Rasola faolayeka ma’al ladheena an’ama Allahu ‘alayhim minan Nabiyeena, was Siddiqeena, wash Shuhadayi, was Saliheena wa hasuna olayeka rafeeqan.” (Surat An-Nisa)
“And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger (pbuh) are in the company of those on whom Allah has bestowed His Favours/Blessings – of the Prophets, the sincere Truthful, the Martyrs/Witnesses to the truth (who testify), and the Righteous, and excellent are those as companions.” (The Women, 4:69)
We Hear the Call to Come in the Month of Hajj
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: SadaqAllahul ‘Azim wa barakah Rasulul Kareem (The Most Generous Messenger). InshaAllah, in this holy month of hajj (pilgrimage) in which everyone agrees that going to the holy Ka’bah for the sake of Allah (AJ) because we’re saying, ‘Labbaik, Allahumma labbaik.’ That, ‘We heard your call and we are coming, we’re here’.
“Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik”
“I am here at Your service, O Allah, I am here at Your service.”
Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is the Allah’s (AJ) Perfect Servant
InshaAllah, from Holy Qur’an, and this is one of the secrets of the realities of the Holy Ka’bah, inshaAllah.
Reciter: “And whoever obeys Allah (AJ) and His Noble Messenger.”
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: So, this is “Atiullah” and “Atiur Rasul.” So, if they’re not obedient to Allah (AJ) and we described then the haqqaiq and the reality that “Atiullah” is for no one other than Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. All the rasuls (messengers) came short. The highest one whom is able to follow Allah (AJ) is Allah’s (AJ) perfect servant. “Fa atiur Rasul” is in reference to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Nobody can follow Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ except who? “Wa Ulil amre minkum”.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat An-Nisa)
“… Obey Allah (AJ), Obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Ulil Amr Follow Allah’s (AJ) Command Through the Alif, Meem and Ra
So, we have to be with the Ulul Amr (saints) whom they follow the amr (command) of Allah (AJ). They have the alif. They are following the meem. Allah (AJ) made them from the ra and rabbaniyoon (lordly souls) in which they learned the book and taught the book.
3:79 – “…wa lakin kono rabbaniyena bima kuntum tu`allimoonal kitaba wabima kuntum tadrusoon.” (Surat Ali-Imran)
“…Be Lordly Souls/faithful servants/worshippers of Him, Because (of what) you have taught the Book and you have studied it earnestly.” (Family of Imran, 3:79)
To Reach Allah (AJ), You Must Be With the Best of Company (Holy Qur’an, 4:69)
The book of Allah (AJ) is the soul and reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. So, our life is to be with these Ulul Amr. Then Allah (AJ) is now giving to us…what happens next?
Reciter: “Will be with those upon whom Allah (AJ) has bestowed grace; that is the prophets (as), and the truthful, and the martyrs, and the virtuous, and what excellent companions they are.”
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: So, then Allah (AJ) is giving to us that anybody who wants to be with Me, first at the beginning is only for those whom “Atiullah atiur Rasul”. If they’re not — because the only way to follow Allah (AJ) and His Rasul (messenger) is like a code — is that you must be with Ulul Amr because the Qur’an, in other places, is referencing “Atiullah atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum”. (Holy Qur’an, 4:59) For those whom are of that category, then Allah (AJ) is giving to them this immense haqqaiq (reality) that if you want to be with Allah (AJ), then ‘I am with nabiyeen (prophets), siddiqeen (truthful), shuhada (martyrs) wa saliheen (righteous), and these are the best of company’.
The Best of Company is Present at the Holy Ka’bah
So, when we’re saying labbaik and at the presence of the Ka’bah, then why they’re not understanding what Allah (AJ) described here? That who’s at the Ka’bah then? Because Allah (AJ) has no partner. Allah (AJ) has no space in which you can occupy, but Allah (AJ) gave to you what? ‘I’m at…nabiyeen (prophets) are there, siddiqeen (truthful) are there, shuhada (martyrs) are there, and saliheen (righteous) are there’.
As a result of their presence and as a result of that light, “…hasuna olayeka rafeeqan.” Anybody else who comes, you’re going to be blessed with who? With Allah’s (AJ) grace and rahmah (mercy) because Allah (AJ) has no partner. There’s no place you’re going to go and share a space with Allah (AJ).
Allah (AJ) Doesn’t Give Holiness to Buildings But to Those Inside
But when Allah (AJ) want to open the haqqaiq (reality) for awliya (saints) teaching them that when you’re coming for Allah (AJ), there’s an immense reality of at the holy Ka’bah. It’s not the stones. It’s not a house of stones. It’s the guest that makes it important. Buildings that men build no holiness; it’s a structure that a man built.
What makes it holy is what Allah (AJ) built and sends to that location and this is our whole life. Masjids will be destroyed all over the Earth, but they’re wood and stones and mortar. What made those structures holy is if there’s a rijal (people of maturity) inside; if there’s something Allah (AJ) created holy inside that structure because Allah (AJ) doesn’t give holiness to buildings.
What Allah (AJ) Makes is Holy, What Man Makes is Just Manmade
What happened with Ashab ul Kahf (Companions of the Cave)? Ashab ul Kahf was the whole story that they achieved a righteousness because of their worshipness. They surrendered to Allah (AJ). They put through whatever test Allah (AJ) gave to them and in the end, Allah (AJ), ‘Build a masjid over them’.
18:21 – “…feehaa iz yatanaaza’oona bainahum amrahum faqaalub noo ‘alaihim bunyaanaa; Rabbuhum a’lamu bihim; qaalal lazeena ghalaboo ‘alaaa amrihim lanat takhizanna ‘alaihim masjidaa”. (Surat Al-Kahf)
“… Behold, they dispute among themselves as to their affair. (Some) said, “Construct a building over them”: Their Lord knows best about them: those who prevailed over their affair said, “Let us surely build a place of worship over them”. (The Cave, 18:21)
This is the system of Islam that over the holy people, build a masjid. Everything related to the holiness of the soul, that which Allah (AJ) built. Allah (AJ) described, ‘I made the soul. I fashioned the soul. I blew into it of My spirit.’ That which Allah (AJ) makes is holy. That which men make is manmade.
15:29 – “Fa idha sawwaytuhu wa nafakhtu feehi min Rohee faqa’o lahu sajideen.” (Surat Al-Hijr)
“So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul/spirit, then fall down to him in prostration.” (The Rocky Tract, 15:29)
Allah (AJ) Grants Pious Souls to Be Active at the Holy Ka’bah
If Allah (AJ) sends nabiyeen (prophets), then who will be there? Who’s the supreme nabiyeen? It means the presence of Prophet ﷺ is at the Ka’bah now. The beginning of hujjaj (pilgrims) means the presence and ruhaniyat (spirituality) [of] Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is now active at the holy Ka’bah. Then Allah (AJ) gives the companionship. Nabiyeen, then who are following nabiyeen?
All the siddiqeen (truthful), all the Holy Companions whom are siddiqs. It means they’re coming with Prophet ﷺ, their arwah (soul) to be inside the Ka’bah. Shuhada (martyrs), that they’re coming. Why? Because mushahadah, that they were the ‘ulama. Scholars and martyrs whom they gave themselves for the love of Allah (AJ). Allah (AJ) granted them to be people of witnessing the Divine.
You Cannot Be From Saliheen Without Being in the Company of Shuhada
You can witness the Divine by dying in Allah’s (AJ) way or being a servant of Allah (AJ), mawt qablil mawt (death of desires before physical death), in which they served Allah (AJ). Allah (AJ) granted them to be shuhood (witnessing with spiritual vision) and to witness and achieve mushahadah, the stations of witnessing and Ahlul Basirah (the people of spiritual vision) through their heart. All whom follow them are saliheen (righteous). It means the people of tariqah (spiritual path).
You cannot be from saliheen if you’re not in the company of the shuhada because Allah (AJ) gave the order of the companionship because now we go the reverse way. Anybody who wants to be with Allah (AJ), Allah (AJ) is giving the formula. We can’t start from the top. We start from the bottom. The bottom Allah (AJ) gave is what? Be with saliheen. It means Allah (AJ) describes in other verse, ‘Hold tight to the rope of Allah (AJ) and tafarraq, don’t separate’.
(Surat Ali-Imran)
“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not separate…” (Family of Imran, 3:103)
Mushahadah Witness With Their Heart in the Presence of Prophet ﷺ
So now, this is like a rope from Allah’s (AJ) Divinely Presence. The rope comes from Allah (AJ) to Rasul, atiur Rasul, the siddiqeen (truthful), shuhada wa saliheen (martyrs and righteous). So, we have to grab the rope at the end and say that, are we with Allah (AJ)? Then we have to seek out the saliheen. Saliheen and righteous servants, they don’t achieve righteousness through their acts of worship. Look at people everywhere you go. You think they’re praying. Go them to be saliheen. They cheat and lie and they became saliheen? Because Allah (AJ) gives the formula.
The only reason they achieved a righteousness is because they were with the shuhada. Shuhada are what? Mushahadah, death before death. They see. We said before: the people are arguing, ‘When is the moon? When is the moon? When is the moon?’ Oh, these mushahadah, they see the tajalli (manifestation). They know when the tajalli is coming. They’re not blind people. Their whole deen (religion) is based on their heart’s witnessing, not ignorant people guessing. They witness with their heart. Their heart is in the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. We’re going now into that rope.
Beware of Becoming Part of the Blind Leading the Blind
Everything coming to them is through this chain. So that we can’t achieve saliheen (righteous) if we’re not with shuhada (martyrs). This Allah’s (AJ) ayatul kareem (the generous verse of Holy Qur’an), 4:69. So, these true saliheen, they’re holding tight to shuhada. It means they have to be with the people of Ahlul Basirah (the people whose hearts are opened). Why? Because if the person is not Ahlul Basirah (people of spiritual vision), then whatever they did, didn’t work for them. You go to a professor who never made a dollar; he’s the last person you’re going to take a business course with. Say, ‘All your books didn’t help you?’ Say, ‘No’. ‘God forbid. How’s it going to help me?’ Say, ‘It’s not, I just get paid to tell you about this, and it never worked for me’.
Yeah, that’s the situation now. The blind that lead the blind, and neither they become saliheen or shuhada, nothing because Allah (AJ) gives to us the formula. So, then these true saliheen, their hand and initiation, their whole life is they are connected with the shuhada. The only reason they became shuhada is why? Because their shaykh, all this jama’ah (association) of mushahadah and Ahlul Basirah, they’re all connected by hand to the great siddiqs (truthful). That’s why, “Innal ladheena yubayi’oonaka yubayi’on Allah”.
48:10 – “Innal ladheena yubayi’oonaka innama yubayi’on Allaha yadullahi fawqa aydeehim, faman nakatha fa innama yankuthu ‘ala nafsihi, wa man awfa bima ‘ahada ‘alayhu Allaha fasayu teehi ajran ‘azheema.” (Surat Al-Fath)
“Indeed, those who give Bayah (pledge allegiance) to you, [O Muhammad] – they are actually giving Bayah (pledge allegiance) to Allah. The hand of Allah is over their hands. So, he whoever breaks his pledge/oath, only breaks it to the detriment/Harm/loss of himself. And whoever fulfills their covenant (Bayah) that which he has promised Allah (AJ) – He will grant him a great reward.” (The Victory, 48:10)
All Tariqahs Stem From Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (as) and Imam Ali (as)
The tariqahs (spiritual paths), they keep the way of the hand. Why? Because they took the hand and their initiation. For Naqshbandiya tul ‘Aliya (The Most Distinguished Naqshbandi Order), it has both the hand of Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (as) and Imam Ali (as). Because both secrets in Naqshbandiya tul ‘Aliya says it’s the soul of all tariqahs. It’s the way of perfection. All tariqahs take from this reality of Naqshbandiya tul ‘Aliya. As a result, they’re firm on the hand of Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (as) and taking from the secrets of Imam Ali (as) in the shajarah (spiritual lineage). As a result, there’s a power from these siddiqs (truthful). Who then the Siddiqs take you to? Why Allah (AJ) wants you to be with the siddiqs? It’s a system. It’s a formula. It’s not a guessing because the siddiqs, they have access to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
That’s why when you come to the door of the Ka’bah, this is Prophet’s ﷺ heart. What do you see at the door of the Ka’bah on that wall? Two hearts. Why? For Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (as) and Sayyidina Imam Ali (as). These are the two Holy Companions that lead tariqahs (spiritual paths). All the tariqahs are based on these two Holy Companions. Sayyidina Uthman (as), Sayyidina Umar (as), they all have their own secrets. But for the turuqs (spiritual paths), both of them come from this reality.
Your Obedience to Allah (AJ) Keeps Your Bay’at
So, it means then these great siddiqs, their whole life is to bring us to the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That system Allah (AJ) gave to us and Qur’an is the proof of it. Then what Allah (AJ) said? If you achieve that reality, is what? You’re with Allah (AJ). You are in obedience to Allah (AJ) for you obeyed Allah (AJ).
That is a system and a rope that is kept with the understanding of the bay’at (pledge of allegiance) and tariqahs. Because these servants whom their hearts are open, they have a strong connection to the siddiqs and a strong connection to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. As a result, there’s a power flowing through them. “La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil ‘Aliyyil ‘Azheem.” There is no help and no power outside of that power line.
“And there is no Support/strength, nor power except by Allah, The Sublimely Exalted, The Magnificent.”
Allah’s (AJ) Qudra and Might Only Comes Through the Hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
So, nobody can say they have a connection to a power. They have no connection to a power unless it’s from flowing from Allah (AJ) to what? Atiullah, atiur Rasul and ulil amre minkum (Holy Qur’an, 4:59) and that’s described.
That with nabiyeen (prophets), Prophet ﷺ is carrying all the power. No one can take from Allah’s (AJ) Qudra and Might except through the hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Every prophet was in need of that. Now that they’re all mushrik (polytheist), they absolutely have no access to the hand of Prophet ﷺ. Because as soon as you make partnership with Allah (AJ) and you call this guy a man, he’s a god and the other one’s waiting for a man and he’ll call himself a god, they lost the hand from Prophet ﷺ.
So, this is an immense reality that if they want the powers of the heavens, it’s flowing into the hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Prophet ﷺ is giving to his holy siddiqs (truthful). They hold the power, they hold the realities and their hands upon these shuhada (martyrs) in which their hearts are open. They’re trained. This is the purpose of their training. As a result, they witness. They witness through their whole heart their entire path. They don’t take their eyes as their reality. They take the eye of the heart as their reality. As a result of that, they produce saliheen (righteous).
We Make Tawaf Around the Holy Ka’bah While Distracted By Dunya
This is why the Ka’bah has four corners. We start from the right side. These are the station of saliheen (righteous). We go to the next because we are in a continuous tawaf (circumambulation) all our lives. Say, hajj (pilgrimage) is not one time. Hajj is your entire life. You have to be hujjaj (pilgrims). You have to be your whole life making tawaf. But you don’t make tawaf because you don’t enter to a tariqah. It’s like you went to one corner, you went to Kentucky Fried Chicken and you never came back because you got distracted by dunya (material world).
But what the tariqahs (spiritual paths) are doing? Every day, they’re in the system. Why? Because they’re with saliheen. Their whole life is connected to these shuhada (martyrs). Those shuhada connected to the siddiqs and the siddiqs connected to Prophet ﷺ. Their whole life is making tawaf around this Ka’bah. This is the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and it becomes their heart. That when you love Prophet ﷺ more than you love yourself, what Prophet ﷺ gave to us? You be with whom you love.
‘An Anasin (ra): … Faqala (Rasulullahi) ﷺ: “Anta ma’a man ahbabta.”
Narrated Anas ibn Malik (ra) that …the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “You will be with whom you love.” [Source: Muslim 7520]
Shaykhs are a Qibla and a Ka’bah Built By Allah (AJ)
Not only you made that entire tawaf (circumambulation) – all your life, you’re making that tawaf, keeping the system that I want to be with you. Allah (AJ) say, ‘If you want to be with Me, your whole life has to be nabiyeen, siddiqeen, shuhada wa saliheen.’ That’s it; not Kentucky Fried Chicken, not anything else. Are you with these four categories every day of your life? Either you’re listening to them, you’re following them, you follow their instructions, you wear their way on your heart? Then you say yes. Then Allah (AJ), you be with whom you love. This is Hadith from Prophet ﷺ.
So, then what happens now for hajj? That’s why we call the shaykhs, they are a qibla (direct of prayer) and a Ka’bah because their heart is that entire system. But they’re built by Allah (AJ). Ka’bah built by those men with the table cloths. You know, they’ve remodeled it many times. This is not something came from paradise. These are the house that men built. But the one that Allah (AJ) built said put within his heart, entire heart is saliheen (righteous). His entire heart is filled with shuhada (martyrs). His heart filled with siddiqeen (truthful). As a result, his heart filled with nabiyeen (prophets) and Allah (AJ) with him. This is a category of awliya (saints).
Have Sincere Love for Pious Souls to Be With Them Inside the Ka’bah
As a result, their souls are now inside the Ka’bah. They witness the tawaf (circumambulation) of everyone coming around because you be with whom you love. If whom you love is at the Ka’bah, you don’t think your soul is with them? So, wherever you are, it doesn’t matter because these are the knowledges of malakut (heavenly realm). We could be here, but whom we love is now opened into the Ka’bah for tawaf because the season of hajj (pilgrimage) has begun. He sits in that place ﷺ and who’s with him? All the siddiqs come because they don’t let Prophet ﷺ to walk by himself. They want that blessing.
As soon as that door opens, Prophet ﷺ sits, siddiqeen are all moving in. All shuhada whom live from the beginning of time to the end of time, who already hasn’t even come yet, all present with Prophet ﷺ. They bring whom? Whom love them. So, love the right person. You love the wrong person, you’re praying on the wrong days, you even missed your fast. All of hajj is ‘Arafah. ‘Arafah is Saturday. Saturday, you fast. Sunday is your Eid. This is not something you make up. This is an Eid that there’s no ikhtilaf (disagreement). You follow the country that opened up the hajj, but even greater realities. As soon as they say it’s ‘Arafah, that’s it. They say ‘Arafah is Wednesday, you’re fasting Wednesday. They say ‘Arafah is Saturday, you’re fasting Saturday.
‘Ashiqeen Take a Path of Love in the Way of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
But the greater reality is that Prophet’s ﷺ soul is there, siddiqeen (truthful) are there, shuhada (martyrs) are there, saliheen (righteous) are those whom love them. You be with whom you love. Love the right person. If you love the right person with your soul, with your sincerity, right now your soul is inside and around the Ka’bah. “Hasuna olayeka rafeeqan.” (Holy Qur’an, 4:69) Right? Because Allah (AJ) now calling the hujjaj (pilgrims) and as they’re coming, they don’t even know when they say labbaik, what happen. All they know is that they’re supposed to say that. That we heard the call and we came. But that’s physical, no problem. If you have money, one day, go physical.
But at every moment, the souls are going, of the who? Of the ‘ashiqeen (lovers). Who are the ‘ashiqeen? The tariqah. They took a path of ishq and muhabbat. They took a path to the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Wherever that beloved one moves, they’re moving and now this is the greatest movement. Twelve months, we’re waiting for those three, four days.
Don’t Be a Sheep Who Loses the Way to Hajj, Taken By Wolves
Some sheep been lost along the way because wolves take them. This is the nature of a shepherd. He tries to get all his jama’ah (association), ‘Come, come with love’. But the wolves in life are standing always on the sidelines, saying ‘Don’t love him. Don’t love him. Don’t love him.’ They grab a few of the sheep and they go. With every difficulty, with every hardship, we try our best every year to arrive in that vicinity that, “Labbaik Allahumma labbaik”. Ya Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem, with every attack they did, every type of difficulty they thrown, every type of confusion they tried to make, because hajj (pilgrimage) was never something easy.
If you would ask, my grandfather would say, ‘Oh, you people die on hajj.’ They didn’t take jumbo jets and fly in there. They gave all their assets away. They paid all their debts. Why? Because they say, ‘Definitely we’re going to die. We may not come back. I can’t leave my family with loans’. So, then you think accompanying a shaykh is easy to reach towards now holy Ka’bah? The fountains of Kawthar from the hand and the soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is now flowing. The dunya (material world) people are running for the zamzam. The malakut (heavenly realm) people are taking from the hand of Prophet ﷺ, Abu Arwah (father of souls), in the light of souls, the Kawthar (The Fountain of Abundance) flowing from the hands of Prophet ﷺ.
Our 12 Month Journey is to Reach the Presence of the Holy Ka’bah
So, the hajj (pilgrimage) for awliya (saints) is still difficult. It’s still a journey of 12 months they’re moving. There’s no jet that they fly everybody and everybody reaches the 12th month. But every day of these 12 months, every day of testing, every day of difficulty, every day of confusion, every day of struggle was so what? That we could reach to the presence of the Ka’bah, the presence and the reality of what Allah (AJ) gave to us of “Nabiyeen, siddiqeen, shuhada wa saliheen hasuna olayeka rafeeqan”. ‘And all you who now just came into that precincts, this is the best of company, for Allah (AJ) is with them’.
You receive the grace and the blessings of Allah’s (AJ) Divinely Presence. This is the immense reality of the opening of Ka’bah, the opening of hajj, the opening of these realities. As soon as the lights of Jabal ar Rahmah (Mountain of Mercy) begin to open, all the same lights now begin to move on Saturday towards Jabal ar Rahmah. Of what? To become ‘arifeen (knowers). Jabal ar Rahmah, ‘Arafat, why? To become ‘arifeen because you’re supposed to be the qurban (sacrifice). The physical we did many years ago. We gave the qurbans. Every year, we do to take any problems in our contracts out, any sins and things that were unpleasing to Allah (AJ) taking with the qurban.
You Are the Qurban for the Love of Prophet ﷺ Like Holy Souls Before You
But the real ‘Arafah of these awliya (saints) is that make us halal (permissible). Who is the symbol of that? Right after hajj, Imam Hussain (as) entered into Karbala. There’s a qurban you give physically all your life until one day you realize you are the qurban. So, we have a expression in Farsi: qurbanit beram, fidayet bisham. What does that mean? I wish I could die for you. People say it now to a taxi driver because they lost their minds. Because it’s not expression that you throw left and right to people, but this was a deep reality.
‘I want to be your qurban, fidayet bisham, means ‘I be your fidayeen that I lay my life for you.’ These are not romantic words. These were words of these Holy Companions. Their life was what? To be the qurban for Prophet ﷺ. What they say: my life and my family be sacrificed for you, Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem. They were the qurbans. So, when you say you’re salaf and you’re from the Holy Companions, are you a qurban for Prophet ﷺ when you debate even the existence of his holy birthday? When the Holy Companions, their whole life was what? To be qurban for Prophet ﷺ. How they swore by their Hadith: ‘I swear by my, the one whom holds my life in his hands, and my mother and father be sacrificed for you, Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem.’
‘An Abi Hurairah (ra), anna Rasulallahiﷺ qala: “Fawal lazi nafsi bi yadihi, la yuminu ahadukum hatta akoona ahabba ilayhi min walidihi wa waladihi.” [Sahih Al Bukhari, Kitab 2, Hadith 14]
Narrated by Abi Hurairah (ra), that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “By Him in Whose Hands is my soul, none of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father and his children.” [Authentic by Al Bukhari, Book 2, Hadith 14]
When Allah (AJ) Guides, He Truly Guides
So, they give to us the immensity. So, Jabal ar Rahmah, the mountain of rahmah, is for the people of light. That, ‘May I be sacrificed for you. That it take away my bad character. Take away this head of mine that makes every type of opposition. That my life be a khidmat and service while I’m on this Earth for Allah (AJ) and most specifically for the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ’ which is the immensity and immense reality and the haqqaiq.
We pray that Allah (AJ) accept from these realities, these lights and that our companionship with the shaykhs of this malakut (heavenly realm) whom they give to us these teachings and understandings to understand. When Allah (AJ) guides, He truly guides.
28:56 – “Innaka laa tahdee man ahbabta wa laakinn Allaha yahdee mai yashaaa’; wa huwa a’lamu bil muhtadeen” (Surat Al Qasas)
“Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.” (The Stories, 28:56)
But when other people think they’re guided and they’re just all over the place, Allah (AJ) is not all over the place. So, how come they can’t speak like that? How come they can’t teach like that? Well because they’re not guided. Because Allah (AJ) says, ‘Whom guided is guided’. Allah (AJ) makes no mistakes. When He guides, He opens His fountains of guidance. The unknown will become known through these awliya (saints) because they’re not heedless that Allah (AJ) has dressed them of these realities, blessed them of these realities to remind what? Remind the nation that these are the immense days of sacrifice. These are the immense days of immense realities. That inshaAllah, Allah (AJ) accept our physical qurban (sacrifice) and make us to be halal (permissible) and to enter into Muharram as a halal servant for Allah (AJ).
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
