Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.

Allah (AJ) – A Hidden Treasure Wanting to Be Known
Rajab Signifies the Birth of Creation and Light
Always a reminder for myself ana abdukal ‘ajeezu, dayeefu, miskinu, zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we are still in existence. “Subhana man huwal Khaliq anNur” that from these 12 hijabs (veils) in which Allah (AJ) is continuously making a zikr (Divine remembrance) upon the soul and the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. This seventh month and the immensity of the reality of seven, and when Allah (AJ) is directing us “Subhana man huwal Khaliq anNur – Glory to the One whom brought this light and created this light.’ Rajab is the celebration of that light. It is the celebration of ‘Allah (AJ) is a treasure wanting to be known.’ So then the immensity of the reality of Allah (AJ) and the ‘ishq (love) and muhabbat of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Subhana man huwal Khaliq anNur
(Glory to Him who is the Creator, the Light)
Qala Rasulallahi ﷺ, Qala Allah (AJ): “Kuntu kanzan makhfiyya, fa ahbabtu an a’rafa, fa khalaqtu khalqan, fa ‘arraftahum bi fa ‘arafonee.” [Hadith al Qudsi – Behar al Anwar, Al ‘Alama al Majlisi, Juz’ 84, Safha 199]
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, that Allah (AJ) said: “I was a hidden Treasure then I desired to be known, so I created a creation to which I made Myself known; then they knew Me.” [Holy Hadith – Bihar al Anwar, by Al ‘Alama al Majlisi, Volume 84, Page 199]
If Not for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, How Would Allah (AJ) Be Known?
That we repeat it and you never know whose heart finally clicks, ‘Ahh!’ Allah (AJ) is a hidden treasure and wanting to be known, not necessarily will be known. So, it means that wanting to be known is Allah’s (AJ) immense love, is immense blessing. If not for this creation to come into existence how would we know any of this? How Allah (AJ) would be known to His creation? It means then Allah (AJ) wants to be known to this creation that He makes. Throughout creation and universes, and infinite amount of creation that is coming into existence, at every moment and fraction of a moment and a time that we can’t even calculate its speed. And Allah (AJ) wants to be known by the best of creation. So it must be a given, Allah (AJ) doesn’t want to be known by something less than perfect. Because Allah (AJ) is perfect, Allah (AJ) is beatific, Allah (AJ) is Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest), even beyond the Akbar that we could ever contemplate Allah (AJ), ‘I’m beyond even what you can ever understand.’
Creation of Nuqt (Dot):
La Ilaha Illallah Being Known Through Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ
So then imagine when Allah (AJ) wants to be known He brings the nuqt (dot) into existence, ‘Ya gharami…’ you know Arabic ‘…takweeni…’ ‘…nuqtat…’ [Shaykh recites Ya Gharami nasheed]. This nuqt, ‘Boom’ [sound effect] “Kun faya koon” this nuqt.
36:82 – “Innama AmruHu idha Arada shay an, an yaqola lahu kun faya koon.” (Surat YaSeen)
“His Command is when He Wills/Intends a thing, He says to it, “Be,” and it is!” (YaSeen, 36:82)
Salatun, bis Salamil mubini
Li nuqta tit ta’yini, Ya gharami
Blessings, and infinite peace be upon, The one who is the Point of Origin and the Source of all realities, O Beloved (Prophet Muhammad (pbuh))
Nabiyun kaana, aslat takweeni
Min‘ahdi kun fayakun yaa gharami
The Prophet (Muhammad (pbuh)) is the essence and source of creation, Since the time of the original promise of souls, and the saying “Kun fayaKun” (Be and it is)
Nuqt is A Perfect Reflection of Allah (AJ)
Is the nuqt Allah (AJ)? La sharik (no partner), la shabih (no shadow). So our ‘aqidah is and our belief system – there’s nothing like Allah (AJ). It is completely forbidden to think anthropomorphism – that any form Allah (AJ) has, any location Allah (AJ) has, any shekl (form), any resemblance of Allah (AJ) – completely forbidden. But He brought a nuqt into existence – via this nuqt He’s going to be known. So then imagine how amazing this nuqt must be! It’s Allah (AJ) wanting to be known, not the creation wanting to be known; it’s Allah (AJ) wanting to be known by the reality of what He just created of this nuqt.
So then it gives the immensity in our heart when we tafakkur and contemplate – everything is this nuqt. For some reason people are confused about dunya (material world), about physical, about everything in the physical world because your mind thinks physical. So when they talk you know from the haqqaiqs (realities) of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ the mind and rational mind is thinking physical and they don’t perceive it. So reduce everything to this nuqt. That Allah (AJ) a hidden treasure wanting to be known, a nuqt, “Kun faya koon”, a nuqt appears. How amazing this nuqt must be, how beautiful! Because if you love Allah (AJ), if you love the Divine then this must be Divinely. Because Allah (AJ) is beautiful, this nuqt is beautiful. Allah (AJ) is compassionate, this nuqt is compassionate. Allah (AJ) is generous, this nuqt is generous; it’s a reflection of Allah (AJ) and the best.
This Nuqt is Haq (Truth)
Allah (AJ) describes that, ‘I created this nuqt…’ because we’ll reduce everything to this nuqt, ‘I created it in a Haq. I created it in a Haq.’ When Allah (AJ) want to give an ‘aalim (scholar) an understanding, He has to open for them their heart to understand the huroof (Arabic letters). That’s why ajami (non-arab) understand the huroof so well. So He opened this nuqt, ‘I created creation in a Haq.’ Because we said before now – it’s not Allah (AJ), but ‘I created it in truth [Haq].’ The ‘ha, qaf.’ This ocean of Hayat (ever-living) that makes Haq, that it has a ha and a qaf.
Ha – Ocean of Hayat: So now we understand when Allah (AJ) describing this creation that, ‘I gave it from this huroof of ha and I gave it every Hayat, every existence will be coming from this.’ This is the sub-atomic reality, this is not the form; the nuqt has not yet the form. The nuqt is beyond understanding of the light. Because yet now the manifestation is still not out; a nuqt is just now appearing and Allah (AJ) dressed the nuqt with ‘Haq – ha, qaf.’ The ‘Ha’ that this nuqt Allah (AJ) dressed it from the oceans of al-Hayat. It means ‘I dressed it so that everything will come to life in it.’
Qaf – Qaf, Wal Quranil Majeed: ‘I gave it a formula, gave it a qaf.’ What is ‘Qaf?’ “Qaf, wal Quranil Majeed.”
50:1 – “Qaf, wal Quranil Majeed.” (Surat Qaf)
“Qaf. By the honored Qur’an.” (The Letter Qaf, 50:1)
‘Because now My Qur’an – My speech that is not created will be the power of this nuqt.’ So created in Haq, this Haq has,
-
- An ocean of Hayat – the secret of life and existence because Allah (AJ) is bringing it into existence,
- Secret of “Qaf, wal Quranil Majeed” that ‘My Divinely speech will always be its power.’
As a result, this Haq is appearing and this is the reality of the soul and light. Your soul is Haq, your soul is Hayyul Qayyum (The Ever-Living and Self-Sustaining). Right? Your body sleeps, your soul never sleeps. So al-Hayyul (The Ever-Living) al-Qayyum (The self-sustaining). But before you and me came, that nuqt Allah (AJ) brought for His Kalimah (testimony). Because,
-
- Allah (AJ) is La ilaha illallah,
- This nuqt is Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.
“La ilaha illallahu Muhammadun Rasulallah”
“There is no deity but Allah, Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
Allah (AJ) is not there. So to complete the kalimah and the kalimah is more ancient than creation, more ancient than creation, that Allah (AJ) completes the kalimah by the nuqt. That, ‘I’m La ilaha illallah – that there’s nothing but Me, but I want to be known by Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.’ So then this nuqt is Sayyidina Muhammad’s ﷺ soul – arwah, Abu Arwah – he’s the father of all lights. When Allah (AJ) describing, because it’s all coded for Allah (AJ) that, ‘Come in this way of ma’rifah (Gnosticism), come in this way of ‘ishq and muhabbat (love) so that I can begin to give to your heart.’ It’s not just open, you open and you understood. But Allah (AJ) says, ‘When you don’t know, go to the people of zikr.’ It doesn’t say, ‘Go to the people who don’t accept zikr.’ Says, ‘When you don’t know go sit with the people of Ahle Zikr (people of Divinely remembrance).’ Why? Because Allah (AJ) opened their hearts to teach you.
The Muhammadan Reality:
Every Creation is Coming Into Existence From This Nuqt
[Ahle Zikr] teach that, ‘This nuqt is in Haq, this Haq is Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’ And that is the opening of the light of all lights, nurul anwar wa sirratal asrar – the light of every secret and he ﷺ is the secret of every light. Because from this nuqt it now infinitely expands. So you take the nuqt, you look under the microscope, Allah (AJ) makes then the nuqt to infinitely expand. Because there’s a line [Shaykh draws circle in the air] and then there’s a dot [in the middle of that circle]. So anytime you look at a dot – a nuqt – if you go into it and Allah (AJ) expands it. The center always stays but the circumference infinitely begins to grow. So then that whole circle of creation is now coming into existence and with the immensity of that light, the immensity of that beauty. That becomes the Muhammadan Reality and it’s encoded. Then anytime Allah (AJ) is saying, ‘Hayyul Qayyum’ – it’s a code. Allah (AJ) is not Hay (The Ever-Living) and Allah (AJ) can’t be described as Qayyum (Self-sustaining), that’s not something that we can understand. Allah (AJ) is beyond Hayat because Allah (AJ) doesn’t have death. Anything alive has a death and Allah (AJ) has no death, astaghfirullah.
Understanding Nuqt Leads Us to Understand Our Own Reality
So Hayyul Qayyum is the secret of the soul, is the secret of these realities. So it means that when Allah (AJ) is giving the month of Rajab and Allah (AJ) gave the knowledge and the realities to Prophet ﷺ. Then from Prophet’s ﷺ heart to awliyaullah (saints) and to their students. Teaching them that – this nuqt of Hayyul Qayyum, this nuqt of the soul and the light, that we are born from that light and that reality, our existence is coming in that ocean of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. As a result of Rajab this light is now coming into existence, this treasure wants to be known, its nuqt is Rajab.
By the celebration of Rajab, by the observance of Rajab, by the respect and ihtiram and the good deeds and worshipness of Rajab, Allah (AJ) begin to take the servant to know himself: ‘I’ll take you to understand this nuqt because this is your existence.’ If not for the existence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ you don’t exist, I don’t exist, this creation doesn’t come into existence. It all is manifesting from the ocean of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ, just by a dot. So when they read and they read du’a (supplication) and they’re reading ayatul kareem (the generous verse of Holy Qur’an), from Qur’an they know this code. That as soon as they make a reference, Allah (AJ) makes a reference, ‘Hayyul Qayyum’; it’s a coding towards the reality of the soul which is the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Only the Heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ Can Contain Allah’s (AJ) Divinely Speech
When Mawlana Shaykh (Q) would describe Janab al Haq – means our king who is the King of Truth. Why? Because Allah (AJ) created him Hayyul Qayyum. So ma’rifah is to take people to a higher level that – don’t keep attributing these things to Allah (AJ), it’s insulting to Allah (AJ). Because you’re inside the computer and you keep thinking that everything is in the computer, but you’re outside the computer. So imagine one day that has artificial intelligence and he start to yell at you thinking you’re with him inside the box. You just unplug it, so all your artificial intelligence has just gone. Yes. So Allah (AJ) say, ‘I’m not with you in this creation, I have nothing to do with that creation. I am the power, the ‘Izzah and the Might of that creation through My Names and Attributes.’ How it reaches to that? ‘I am the power that gives this ha its Hayat and its existence, I am the Qaf, wal Quranil Majeed, My Divinely speech…’ which we call ‘Qur’an’ ‘…is the quwwah (power), the might and the power.’ So this light, its source of power is Allah’s (AJ) Divinely speech, so Allah’s (AJ) Divinely speech is now moving to that nuqt. So what Allah (AJ) describes about His speech?
Audience : Even the mountain is disappeared.
Ah huh! So that no one thinks, ‘Is it an angel? Is it two, three prophets (as)? Is it a wali (saint)?’ Allah (AJ) say, ‘No, no, no this nuqt, that’s Hayyul Qayyum, and this qaf which is Quranil Majeed…’ He describes for us in Qur’an, ‘No, this Qur’an nobody can contain it. If I send it upon what you understand of big – are mountains. If I send it upon a mountain “khashiya” – it’ll be dust. But it comes to the heart…’ which is again qaf, laam, ba – Qalb (heart), ‘I send it to the Qalb and it’s steady. I send it to the heart and to the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and it doesn’t move, doesn’t fluctuate.’
59:21 – “Law anzalna hadha alQurana ‘ala jabalin laraaytahu, khashi’an mutasaddi’an min khashyatillahi…” (Surat Al-Hashr)
“Had We sent down this Qur’an on a mountain, verily, you would have seen it obliterated to dust (from its power)…” (The Exile, 59:21)
Something not created able to come into something created means – beyond your sciences and your understanding. What should have come and blown the reality of Prophet ﷺ apart, Allah (AJ) keeps it together. Because it’s not created inside of that created reality and Allah (AJ) gave that reality and called it a ‘Qalb’ which is again,
-
- Qaf: ‘Qaf, Laam – Qul’ Allah’s (AJ) Divinely speech. Because what is ‘Qalb [Qaf, laam, ba]?’ Allah’s (AJ) Divinely speech, ‘My Qaf, wal Quranil Majeed,’
- Laam: ‘To My Lisanul Haq (Tongue of Truth).’
- Ba: ‘I’m speaking to the ba.’ As a result, that ba is what containing this Qur’an.
That’s why all of Qur’an is in 30 juz (parts), 30 juz in 7 verses of Fatiha, 7 verses of Fatiha in “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem” all of “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem” is collapsed all the way to the ba.
1:1 – “Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem.” (Surat Al-Fatiha)
“In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.” (The Opener, 1:1)
Reality of Wahy (Revelation) – From Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
So it means that’s then the reality of Prophet ﷺ. That none of this can be contained anywhere except the Qalb of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Allah (AJ) gives it in Qur’an but they need awliya to tell them what that means. So they think it’s just a physical – he gave the message and then he departed. But Allah (AJ) didn’t send the message to the physical; Allah (AJ) send the message to his soul – his ruh. His soul contains that reality, his soul carries that reality and not an angel is created but it’s created from Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. So Sayyidina Jibreel (as), the ‘jeem’ Allah (AJ) gave him a nuqt from Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ so that he could carry the Wahy. He is the Muhammadan light. ‘Izzatullah (Allah’s (AJ) Might and Magnificence) wa ‘izzatur Rasul ﷺ (honour of the Messenger) first, from ‘izzatur Rasul ﷺ wa ‘izzatul mumineen (honour of the believers). He is considered here a mu’mineen he is under the ‘izzah (honour) of Prophet ﷺ, not above.
63:8 – “…Wa Lillahil ‘izzatu wa li Rasooli hi wa lil Mumineen…” (Surat Al-Munafiqoon)
“…And to Allah belongs [all] honor, and to His messenger, and to the believers…” (The Hypocrites, 63:8)
From that permission Allah (AJ) gave that angel to carry that nuqt to bring the Muhammadan Wahy from the haqqaiq of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ to the physicality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. From Muhammad ﷺ to Muhammad ﷺ. Only gave permission to Sayyidina Jibreel (as) to just carry the nuqt, he’s not the nuqt. He doesn’t make the nuqt, he just carries the nuqt from the Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ upon the Earth.
Discovering Allah’s (AJ) Hidden Treasure Through Prophetic Love
So it means then this immensity of this power, the immensity of this beauty, the immensity of this secret that Allah (AJ) wants to be known by, by having a love and respect for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. It is the source of every blessing and every grace on life. Every difficulty to be taken away, every blessing to be granted because its reality is that you are getting to know Allah (AJ). Imagine Allah (AJ) packed all of this beauty, all of this treasures and you didn’t find it. It means what? You didn’t find Allah (AJ), you didn’t find the understanding and the beauty of Allah (AJ). That’s why it’s not correct and not good and that’s why it’s so beautifully amazing if done correct. Because how can you go through life saying that you love Allah (AJ) but you didn’t find His signs. You didn’t find the compassion, you didn’t find the rahmah, you didn’t find the mercy, you didn’t find the love and the ‘ishq and the character that Allah (AJ) wanted us to find.
Like a treasure, you’re hunting for treasures. ‘Ashiqeen (lovers), why they have so much power, so much barakah, so much blessings? Because they found what Allah (AJ) wanted to disclose of His reality. Because they found the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and when they arrived at that treasure, the ‘ishq and the muhabbat of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, they felt that they have arrived into the presence of that reality. That Allah’s (AJ) rida and satisfaction dressing them, blessing them, taking every type of difficulty away. ‘Do you see this perfected character? It means then you found My compassion. Did you see the amazing love and compassion of Prophet ﷺ, this ‘ishq that you feel? That is My ‘ishq – that is My love.’ For how are you going to find Allah (AJ) if not through the most perfected creation of Allah (AJ)?
If You Follow Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, You Gain the Love of Allah (AJ)
3:31 – “Qul in kuntum tuhibbon Allaha fattabi’uni, yuhbibkumullahu…” (Surat Ali-Imran)
“Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you …” (Family of Imran, 3:31)
That when you found that ‘ishq and that love, worshipness is only for Allah (AJ). But when you found that love, found that character, found this the best of what my heart should be loving – is Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. ‘I created no man with two hearts and no heart with two masters.’ So it means the heart and the love for Allah (AJ) is the love and the respect and ihtiram for the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
33:4 – “Ma ja’ala Allahu lirajulin min Qalbayni fee jawfihi…” (Surat Al-Ahzab)
“Allah has not made for a man two hearts in his interior…” (The Combined Forces, 33:4)
When the Muhammadan ‘ishq is filling the heart then Allah’s (AJ) ‘ishq is then becoming complete and beautified in the character. That, ‘You found My treasure, I am a hidden treasure wanting to be known. It means you found My reflection, you found My perfected reflection.’ People can find Allah (AJ) through the beauty of an ocean you say, ‘SubhanAllah Ya Rabbi, how You created all these things.’ Through the beatific reality of flowers and nature. Look at the love and the compassion that animals have for each other and you feel the love and compassion for Allah (AJ). You look at that, Allah (AJ) must be filled with beauty when He makes an ocean and everything such a beautiful scenery. So the most perfected is when you find Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, ‘Ya Rabbi, how generous can you be that created such a reality that’s generous to me. That continuously is calling my heart to come into his association, forgiving me my bad character. He doesn’t ever look to me that you’re not good enough for me go away! But continuously inviting my being to come towards this love come towards this ‘ishq.’
Why Do You Ask Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ for Forgiveness?
What Allah (AJ) gave that reality is that, ‘You are My intercessor, that if they come to you and that you ask forgiveness for them I will forgive them.’ What month is this? The month of Rajab and that becomes the seventh month. From the power of awliyaullah, Sultanul Awliya (King of Saints) which is nine, becomes the surah (chapter) 63 [9×7=63]. Hm? So it means you found the Haq, you found the love of Prophet ﷺ, you found the love for Allah (AJ). So all of this is the ‘ishq for Allah (AJ) because the love for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is the reflections of the Names and Attributes. You find him to be compassionate, you find him to be merciful, you find him to be generous. All of that are the reflections of Allah (AJ) in the best of His creation, he is reflection of Allah (AJ). When you find that, love that, serve that, then Allah (AJ) says then, ‘Go and ask him for forgiveness. Go in his presence and ask him for forgiveness.’
63:5 – Wa izaa qila lahum ta’aalaw yastaghfir lakum Rasulullaahi…(5)” (Surat Al Munafiqoon)
“And when it is said to them, “Come, the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), will ask forgiveness for you”…(The Hypocrites, 63:5)
‘Because if he forgives you I’m with him. I am his hearing,’ Hadith al Qudsi (Holy Hadith). ‘I am his seeing, I am his speaking, I am his hands in which he moves, I am the feet in which he moves, I am the tongue in which he speaks. He is beyond Rabbaniyoon (Lordly Souls) and he has complete power of Kun faya koon.’ This Hadith al Qudsi is a description of Prophet ﷺ.
‘An Abi Hurairah (ra) qala, Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ : InnAllaha ta’ala qala: “ …, wa la yazaalu ‘Abdi yataqarrabu ilayya bin nawafile hatta ahebahu, fa idha ahbabtuhu kunta Sam’ahul ladhi yasma’u behi, wa Basarahul ladhi yubsiru behi, wa Yadahul lati yabTeshu beha, wa Rejlahul lati yamshi beha, wa la in sa alani la a’Teyannahu, …” [Hadith Qudsi, Sahih al Bukhari, Raqam: 6502)
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (ra) that: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that: Allah the Almighty said: “…My servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary acts of worship so that I shall love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him…” [Holy Hadith, Authentic by al-Bukhari, # 6502]
Turning Away from Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is Turning Away from Allah (AJ)
So what this month’s tajalli (manifestation) describes in Surat Al-Munafiqoon verse 5. I think verse 5 [Shaykh laughs]. You guys don’t have your phones? [Shaykh asks audience]. Let’s see if that’s the right verse [Shaykh smiles]. Did you find it? [Recite] Verse 5.
Reciter: “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem. Wa izaa qila lahum ta’aalaw yastaghfir lakum Rasulullaahi, lawwaw ru’oo sahum wa ra aytahum yasuddoona wa hum mustakbiroon” ‘And when it is said to them: Come, the Messenger of Allah will ask forgiveness for you, they turn their heads aside and you see them evading while they are arrogant.’
63:5 – Wa izaa qila lahum ta’aalaw yastaghfir lakum Rasulullaahi, lawwaw ru’oo sahum wa ra aytahum yasuddoona wa hum mustakbiroon.(5)” (Surat Al Munafiqoon)
“And when it is said to them, “Come, the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), will ask forgiveness for you” they turn their heads in disgust and you see them, turn away in arrogance. (5) (The Hypocrites, 63:5)
That’s how we got to that conclusion, huh. It’s Allah (AJ) is wanting to be known, Allah (AJ) is insulted by that. That this treasure, this nuqt, this creation that I made in truth, ask these munafiq (hypocrite) go ask Prophet ﷺ for forgiveness. Because they say, ‘Why you ask anybody about Allah (AJ)?’ They don’t read the same Qur’an you read? That’s why awliyaullah come and teach – this love and this ihtiram (respect) is so powerful that your bad character will display who you are. Allah (AJ) describes that bad character that, ‘Tell them go make istighfar (seeking forgiveness), ask Prophet ﷺ for istighfar – for forgiveness, ask Prophet ﷺ for forgiveness.’ And they turn away, ‘No.’
It means how bad that is and that shows you the might and the majesty of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Allah (AJ) says, ‘Even if you teach them all this and then they go and ask Prophet ﷺ I’m not going to forgive them.’ Right. Because it says in the next verse, ‘Even if you tell them the truth and then they ask for forgiveness I won’t forgive them.’
63:6 – “Sawaon ‘alayhim astaghfarta lahum amlam tastaghfir lahum lan yaghfira Allahu lahum; innAllaha la yahdee alqawma alfasiqeen” (Surat Al Munafiqun)
“It is all the same for them whether you (Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)) ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; Allah will not forgive them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the defiantly rebellious/disobedient transgressors.” (The Hypocrites, 63:6)
So must be something huge for Allah (AJ); Allah (AJ) is now personally insulted that, ‘You didn’t see Me in that character? So it wasn’t Me that you were looking for. Had you been really looking for My Divinely Presence, My compassion, My mercy, the best of what you understood of Me, you would have found it in Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.’ So when you turn away from Prophet ﷺ you are turning away from Allah (AJ); you’re turning away from everything of goodness and everything that Allah (AJ) bestows. It’s not something small, “Thumma amano thumma kafaroo,” every moment they’re believing then they’re not believing. Then Allah (AJ) warns that, ‘That time that you believed and We graced you and the next time you don’t believe Allah (AJ) sealed you and sealed the heart not to believe again.’
63:3 – “Zaalika bi annahum aamanoo summa kafaroo fatubi’a ‘alaa quloobihim fahum laa yafqahoon.” (Surat Al-Munafiqoon)
This is because they believed, and then disbelieved; therefore, their hearts were sealed, so they do not understand.” (The Hypocrites, 63:3)
As Much As You Approach Prophet ﷺ , He Brings You Closer to Allah (AJ)
So it means the delicacy of ‘ishq and love, the importance that awliyaullah are coming to teach – it’s not a hobby. It’s not a part-time and we take this life of ours as a game. But they’re giving the realities in which to gain the Divinely pleasure, grace and mercy upon your soul, your family and communities. Because it’s all Allah (AJ), Allah (AJ) wants to be known, Allah (AJ) wants to be found. When this ‘ishq and this love is taught, good character is taught, that come to the way of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ, exhibit this goodness and this character. What they found of immense love, immense compassion, immense proximity. Because he’s “khuluqin ‘azheem.” That do you think when you’re approaching Prophet ﷺ that he is continuously showing himself? Or as much as they’re approaching Prophet ﷺ, Prophet ﷺ is moving away and they’re finding themself closer and closer to the love of Allah (AJ).
68:4 – “Wa innaka la’ala khuluqin ‘azheem.” (Surat Al-Qalam)
“Truly, You (O Muhammad!) are of a magnificent character.” (The Pen, 68:4)
They feel the light of Allah (AJ), they feel the proximity of Allah (AJ). Because of his perfected and beatific character, never to put himself in that place, but merely a reflection of the Divine light and Divine grace and Divine blessings. So that when they ran to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ they were running to that reflection that is Allah’s (AJ) lights and blessings dressing upon their soul, blessing upon their soul. And that was the “khuluqin ‘azheem.” No miracles, no outwardly showing that it’s something different but the ruhaniyat and the spirituality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Why Prophet ﷺ is Rasulul Kareem (The Most Generous Messenger)?
Why they call ‘Rasulul Kareem?’ Because as much as they’re approaching he is reflecting Allah’s (AJ) lights upon the soul. Then these ‘ashiqeen they find themselves drawing closer and closer to the reality of Allah (AJ). So much so that Mawlana Shaykh (Q) described – why awliyaullah stay within their own limit and that each wali thinks he reached the highest level of sainthood? Because Allah’s (AJ) compassion and mercy is He gives them so much and so much within their being for them to feel content within their hearts. They don’t need to try to compete, they felt the proximity that there could be nothing closer than what they achieved and Allah (AJ) make them to feel content. That’s from where? That’s from the ‘ishq and the love of Sayyidina Muhammad’s ﷺ perfected reality reflecting Allah’s (AJ) ‘ishq.
That as much as they approached they felt they reached the highest. That you can reach so that each of these servants are content within their own ocean and they don’t have to take somebody else down to become higher. Allah (AJ) gave to them everything that they’re in need of and all they need is to draw closer and closer. And the only way to draw closer and closer is by ‘Muhammadun Rasul-Allah ﷺ.’ They understood that go through the Rasul (Messenger) and on that laam is kalimah (word) Allah (AJ) [رسول اللّٰہ ﷺ]. Why? Because in the reality Prophet’s ﷺ light they go into the center and the core of that nucleus. And what they found of ‘Izzatullah – the Power and Might of Allah (AJ) emanating from that ocean of power dressing them blessing them and calling their souls nearer and nearer into that reality.
Creation is Continuously Coming Into Existence at “Qaaba Qawsayni Aw Adna”
We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us from these realities and these nights. Why Isra wal Mi’raj (Night Journey and Ascension) was on 27th? Because this is the time in which to go from your dunya back into the core of who your reality is. Isn’t that where Prophet ﷺ went in that nuqt on Isra wal Mi’raj? And in that nuqt he went and found that “Qaba qawsayni aw adna.” Because his ﷺ origin is “qaaba qawsayni aw adna.”
53:9 – “Fakana qaaba qawsayni aw adna.” (Surat An-Najm)
“And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer [to the Divine Presence].” (The Star, 53:9)
So when two powers come together “aw adna” where Prophet ﷺ describe, ‘I came to where there was two bow lengths or closer.’ It means when the power of La ilaha illallah comes and what Allah (AJ) gave of the power to Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ, what happens when two powers come close enough in electricity? A nuqt begins to appear, they don’t touch because we don’t have Wahdatul Wujud (Oneness in Existence), they’re always apart. “Aw adna” – how close is apart is the adab (manners) and as a result what do you have now? Nuqt.
How many nuqts do you have? Because that was just one nuqt. Infinite nuqts are coming into existence as long as Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ is always approaching La ilaha illallah. Because he wants to approach and Allah (AJ) keep moving away so that it’s always “aw adna, aw adna.” It means ‘or nearer, or nearer’ but as a result of that relationship nuqt is coming into existence at every fraction of a second or less than a fraction of a second. We can’t even describe the timing, and that becomes entire universes are coming into existence, entire creations are coming into existence and never stopping coming into existence. All of them under Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. So how much Allah (AJ) gave to this kingdom of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ! We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us, bless us from these lights and that to reach these realities and to reach these blessings.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
