Spiritual Transaction for the Afterlife – Qur’an 45:13
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
A’udhu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the rejected one
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
A reminder always for myself that Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat An-Nisa)
“… Obey Allah, Obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Nourishing the Soul is More Important Than the Physicality
And that, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and by the Grace of Allah (AJ) that we are still in existence. In these nights of tafakkur, a reminder always for myself that everything is based on this concept of tafakkur (contemplation); every type of opening, every type of reality, every type of dress that Allah (AJ) want to dress upon the servants. That the power of the soul is what we were sent to nourish and to bring up, not the power of the body. The body had to be disciplined with the usool, the different laws that bring a discipline, a cleanliness, a correct understanding upon the physicality; but the physicality was not the goal. This means all of this is being broadcasted live all over the world. So, it means all of our events are all live.
Surah YaSeen Directs Us to the Heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
This teaching of haqqaiqs (realities) and from ahlul malakut, “Malakotu kulli shay,” in Surah YaSeen,
36:83 – “Fasubhanal ladhee biyadihi Malakotu kulli shay in wa ilayhi turja’oon.” (Surat YaSeen)
“Therefore Glory be to Him in Whose hand is the dominion/ kingdom over everything in heavens, and to Him you will be returned.” (YaSeen, 36:83)
Everything from Suratal YaSeen is that everything has a heart and the heart of Holy Qur’an which can’t even be understood, Allah’s (AJ) uncreated words, the heart of it, Surah YaSeen. As if Allah (AJ) want us to direct ourself to the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, Manzil al Qur’an; the location and the house in which this Holy Qur’an is emanating throughout this universe.
Surat al Jathiya Carries Immense Secrets in Jumadal Awwal
And in this holy month from the way of ma’rifah (gnosticism) based on the power of nine. So nine times the fifth month is 45; 45th surah, 13th verse. We should recite on the months, the different secrets of those verses of that month. In this month is the 45th surah, has a door, a pardeh (veil) for awliyaullah (saints) that they are moving from Surat Tawbah, Ashab ul Kahf (Companions of the Cave), 27 – Surat al Naml, 36 – YaSeen. From YaSeen opens up into Surat al Jathiya and continues into the powers of nine.
Regular people are moving from Surat al Fatiha, Surat al Baqarah, Surat al Imran, from 1 through 12. Once they have been dressed from that reality and Allah (AJ) grant them sincerity, then they’re moving from the ninth all the way to 108th surah on the 12th month which is the Kawthar (The Fountain of Abundance), to be dressed. And Allah (AJ) on the 12th month, the hijrah, the pilgrimage, Allah (AJ) dresses them to be from Ahlul Kawthar.
Allah (AJ) Gave Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ All Encompassing Authority
This month, its secret of this surah is verse 13, inshaAllah.
(Surat Al-Jathiya)
“And He has subjected/gave the authority to you [Sayyidina Mahmood (pbuh)], as from Him, all that is in the heavens and on earth: Behold, in that are Signs indeed for those who reflect/Contemplate [Meditate].” (The Crouching, 45:13)
Allah (AJ), sakhkhara lakum that, ‘We have granted to you, put under your authority, under your dominion.’ He is talking to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. All of Holy Qur’an is a dialogue between Allah (AJ) and Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, not between us. Our door was that we didn’t exist. If you came through the door of non-existence, then when you read Holy Qur’an, this is a secret dialogue between Allah (AJ) and Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. And Allah (AJ) stating in this ayatul kareem (the generous verse of Holy Qur’an) that, ‘We have subjected to you everything. Everything from My earth, everything into the sama.‘
It means everything in the paradises, every angel in the paradises, Baitul Mamur in the paradises. Everything you can think from these galaxies, these universes. And then Allah (AJ) give the all-encompassing lock on a contract, jamee’an. Jamee’an is the finality of the contract in case somebody came back and said, ‘Ya Rabbi, not the souls.’ No, Allah (AJ) said, ‘No, wrong, I gave the heavens, the earth and anything in between them, We have subjected to you from him.’ So if anyone wants to know who gave it, Allah (AJ) clarifies it, “minhu” that, ‘We gave it. We have subjected. You are the sultanate (kingdom). This is your sultanate.’ Otherwise what’s the purpose of being a king and have no kingdom?
Only People of Contemplation Understand Prophet’s ﷺ Authority
This is the month in which they’re moving from the heart of Surat al YaSeen, dressed by the heart, dressed by the fountains and the flowing lights of Holy Qur’an which are coming from Manzil al Qur’an, from the center of the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ into this surah where Allah (AJ) is dressing that, ‘Everything is under your authority. None know it but ahle tafakkur (people of contemplation)’ (Holy Qur’an, 45:13) because it’s not something you’re going to understand in your physicality. In your physicality and in our physical practices, we are so concerned about ourself and our relationship and everything about the ‘me.’
It’s Not About You or Me – We Are Nothing!
The turuq (spiritual paths) come and teach that you are not important. If you annihilate yourself, “la ilaha illa anta Subhanaka, innee kuntu minazh zhalimeen.“
21:87 – “… la ilaha illa anta Subhanaka, innee kuntu minazh zhalimeen.” (Surat Al-Anbiya)
“…“There is no god/diety except You; Glory to you: Indeed I have been of the wrongdoers/Oppressor to Myself!” (The Prophets, 21:87)
If I truly believe, ya Rabbi, that Your Greatness, and I’m an oppressor to myself. I took a path in which I am nothing, I’m nothing, I’m nothing, ya Rabbi. And then that was the path of tafakkur. We’ll repeat because you never know when somebody hits into their heart, even after years of hearing that word; that it’s not about you. It’s not about me. When I say ‘you’ I’m talking to myself always; it’s not about me, I’m nothing. I have no treasure to receive. I have no station to receive, I have nothing, nothing, nothing.
All Knowledges Are Nothing Compared to Muhammadan Knowledge
But Allah (AJ) “sakhara lakum.” Allah (AJ) says, ‘I have given everything to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. If you can achieve an understanding and practice the way of nothingness, then your journey begins in the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’
And that is the kanz Allah, that is the Treasure of Allah (AJ). That is uloom ul-awaleen wa ‘l-akhireen (knowledges of the beginning and the end), ilm e Laduni wa hikmati bis Saliheen (Divinely Knowledge and Wisdom of the Righteous). All of that is the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, what they call Nurul Muhammadi ﷺ (Light of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ), Haqqiqatul Muhammadiyah ﷺ (the Muhammadan Reality), the highest levels of haqqiqat. All other knowledges are nothing in comparison to that knowledge. That reality requires us to be nothing.
Believe You Are Nothing to Be With Whom You Love
So, it means then the tafakkur comes in our life to teach us, I’m nothing, I’m nothing. If I truly believe I’m nothing, that everything about myself, I’m nothing, I’m nothing. Ya Rabbi, let me just to reach a state of my nothingness and to be dressed by that light, blessed by that light, to be in the presence of those lights. Then that whole reality begins to open, ‘You will be with whom you love.’
“عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: … فَقَالَ (رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ): ” أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ.
[اَلْمَصْدَرْ: مُسْلِمْ:. ٧٥٢٠]
‘An Anasin (ra): … Faqala (Rasulullahi) ﷺ: “Anta ma’a man ahbabta.”
Narrated Anas ibn Malik (ra) that …the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “You will be with whom you love.” [Source: Muslim 7520]
Our ‘Amal is Nothing Compared to What Allah (AJ) Has Given Us
Ahlul fikr, they don’t like that Hadith (traditions of Prophet ﷺ). They probably try to say it’s da’eef (weak) because they think everything they’re going to achieve is through their efforts. That they’re going to pray and it’s going to impress Allah (AJ). They’re going to pay and it’s going to impress Allah (AJ). People don’t want to give $100 and they make $30,000 a month. And then they say, ‘We’re having hard times.’ There are people out there making extreme amount of money and they don’t want to give anything. And could you imagine you’re going to approach Allah (AJ) like that? Where Companions were giving their lives, they were giving everything they had; they struggled two days fight, two times in a day, there’s no life insurance. There’s nothing.
So, then awliya (saints) came into our lives. You’re going to really try to sit with Allah’s (AJ) Divinely Presence like that? You’re going to go up into the heavens thinking, I’m going to show my ‘amal (action) to Allah (AJ) and He’s going to be impressed? And He’s going to say, ‘Please enter into paradise’? Or He’s going to say, ‘All these ‘amal you’re showing me is not even worth the eyesight I gave you, the breath I gave you everyday. You should have thanked Me a thousand lifetimes for the breath and the existence I gave you.’
Are You Prepared for Armageddon?
So awliyaullah come and said, ‘No way, we’re not going to enter through that.’ So this was a big opening, that holy Hadith. He interrupted the Jum’ah (Friday prayer) of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and asked, ‘What about qiyamah (resurrection)?’ Put the whole of our life is based on qiyamah, ‘What’s going to happen when the Armageddon? What’s going to happen when Allah (AJ) call me to an account?’ Three times he interrupted Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ until Prophet ﷺ knew who he is.
‘An Abi Hurairah (ra), ‘an Rasullillahi ﷺ qala: “Al Muslimu man salema annaasu min lesanehi wa yadehi wal Muminu man amenahun naasu ‘ala demayehim wa amwalehim.”
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the people are safe, and the believer is the one from whom the people’s lives and wealth are safe.”
And this was a mercy for the nation to hear that he’s about to explain, ‘What have you prepared that you’re asking so many times?’ Said, ‘Nothing.’ How you can dare to say that to Prophet ﷺ? You have to contemplate. There’s an audience of some fierce Sahabi (Holy Companions of Prophet ﷺ), you know, they have, they make the heavens shake, these personalities that Allah (AJ) surrounded Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ with. And he came and said nothing.
You Will Be With Whom You Love
What Allah (AJ) wanted to teach these great personalities that later generations would understand, ‘I have nothing in comparison to what you have established, what your great Companions have done. I have nothing except the love of Allah (AJ) and love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’ And Prophet ﷺ said, ‘Then you will be with whom you love.’
“عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: … فَقَالَ (رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ): ” أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ.
[اَلْمَصْدَرْ: مُسْلِمْ:. ٧٥٢٠]
‘An Anasin (ra): … Faqala (Rasulullahi) ﷺ: “Anta ma’a man ahbabta.”
Narrated Anas ibn Malik (ra) that …the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “You will be with whom you love.” [Source: Muslim 7520]
Complete Your ‘Amal, But Place No Importance On It
This means that’s the lifetime of tafakkur just on that holy Hadith from Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, that our life is about we’ll be with whom we love. What you can achieve from a state of muhabbat and good character, doesn’t mean you don’t do. We do everything and we kept the 50 prayers that was given to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ on Isra wal Miraj (Night Journey and Ascension) and said, ‘It’s probably be too much for my nation.’
Naqshbandiya keeps all the 50. If you count all of our tahajjud (late night voluntary prayer), our Fajr prayers, the sunnah of the Fajr, Salatul Tasbih (Prayer of Praises), Salatul Shukr (Prayer of Gratitude) – all of those they kept. But they never put an importance on that ‘amal. They do all of that ‘amal from ishq and love and muhabbat but they place no importance on that ‘amal.
If What Comes From the Mouth is Bad, What the Heart Conceals is Far Worse
And their whole focus in their life is how to build the muhabbat and love. For what is the value of all my actions if I have a rotten mouth and a rotten heart? Because the mouth and the heart is like the volcano. You know when you see the lava, Allah (AJ) describes what’s coming out of the mouth – if you think that’s bad, what’s in the heart is far worse.
3:118 – “…wad doo ma ‘anittum qad badatial baghdao min afwahihim wa ma tukhfee Sudooruhum Akbaru, qad bayyana lakumul Ayaati, in kunum ta’qiloon.” (Surat Ali-Imran)
“…Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their hearts conceal is far worse. We have made plain to you the signs, if you have wisdom.” (Family of Imran, 3:118)
So, when you see an eruption of a volcano coming out, don’t think that that’s all that’s in the volcano. There may be miles of lava under earth. There’s a super volcano down here. If it should go, four of them will cover the earth in blackness because the extent of the lava they have under. It’s like the heart of a human. Allah (AJ) warns in Qur’an, ‘No if you think their mouth was bad, then know that their heart is far worse (Holy Qur’an, 3:118).’
This Way is Based on Having Good Character
So, what’s the purpose of all the ‘amal if the heart is bad, the mouth is bad, the character is bad. For could you have good character in a bad mouth? No, haq (truth) and falsehood, they don’t go together.
17:81 – “Wa qul jaa alhaqqu wa zahaqal baatil, innal batila kana zahoqa.” (Surat Al-Isra)
“And say, Truth has come, and falsehood has perished. Indeed falsehood, [by its nature], is ever perishing/bound to perish.” (The Night Journey, 17:81)
So, it means that when they have a good heart and good character, Imam Ali (as) said then their mouth will be soft.
Al Imam Ali (as) qala,“‘Inda maa yatahalla almar a bil akhlaqi alhamidati yazharu zalika fi husni wa zawqi kalamihi.”
Imam Ali (as) said, “When a person has adorned himself with good character, it appears in the beauty of his delicate and exquisite speech”
They should be sweetened mouth, a sweetened tongue. So what’s a Muslim? Someone whom is you’re safe within their hands and their mouth. You’re not in danger from their hands and their mouth, that’s a true Muslim. So, it means that this way is based on these good characteristics.
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the people are safe, and the believer is the one from whom the people’s lives and wealth are safe.”
Real Ulul Amr Stand Guard for Allah’s (AJ) Amr
This tafakkur (contemplation) is the way of muhabbat and love. That when I said I say, ‘I’m nothing, I’m nothing. I want to be with whom I love.’ And then Allah (AJ) describes then, “Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum.”
(Surat An-Nisa)
“O You who have believed, Obey Allah, Obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
These ulul amr, the real ulul amr, whom they stand guard for the amr of Allah (AJ) through the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and upon this Earth, Allah (AJ) gave them the title for ulul amr, not what people gave. And each one declares their own station and their people declare what he is and what title he is. It’s not important what people say. It’s when Allah (AJ), that they have the alif, they have the meem and they are Rabbaniyoon (Lordly Souls). So, they are the real ulul amr and they stand guard to that reality. When they come around, they bring that muhabbat and that love.
To Come Against Awliya is to Come Against Allah (AJ)
And then Allah (AJ) describes that their heart, “Qalb al mu’min baytAllah.“
“Qalb al mu’min baytur rabb.”
“The heart of the believer is the House of the Lord.” (Hadith Qudsi)
Their hearts are the houses of Allah (AJ). And that’s why Allah (AJ) said, ‘Don’t, don’t fight My awliya because I’ll declare war upon you.’
‘An Abi Hurayra (ra) qala, Qala Rasulullahi (saws): “Man ‘ada li waliyan faqda adhantahu bil harbe…” (‘An Abi Hurayra (ra), Rawa e Bukhari)
Narrated by Abu Hurayra, that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said that, “Allah (AJ) said, ‘I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a wali (saint) of Mine…” [Hadith Qudsi, Narrated by Abu Hurayra (ra), in Sahih Bukhari]
Allah (AJ) didn’t say that anywhere else. Don’t fight here, don’t yell at this, don’t, don’t bother this. But Allah (AJ) described that, ‘If you come against My awliya, then I’ll declare war upon you.’ Why? Because it’s the House of Allah (AJ). It’s actually you’re coming against Allah (AJ). And everything that’s contained within that house is Allah’s (AJ) Divinely Lights.
We Will Be Continuously Trained to Have Good Character
So, it means these personalities in our life, if we should come across them, by their teachings, by their actions, then the highest level to be achieved by muhabbat and love. That’s why then their schools come to teach us, have good character. As soon as they have good character, good softness, everything within them is a training of their character. If they come through the door talking harsh, then they will be continuously trained and cleaned into how to talk nice, how to talk polite, how to be able to be social and not an anti-social person, how to have all the characteristics that are pleasing to Allah (AJ).
We Give Salaams to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ in Every Salah
When they have those characteristics, then they begin their training that, ‘I’m nothing, I’m nothing, ya Rabbi. That when I’m sitting and trying to make my tafakkur, I’m asking to be nothing. But let me to be with these awliyaullah.‘ Let me to be with my guides and my shaykhs, and that to know that they’re always present with me. For in my salah, “Assalamu alaika ayyuhan Nabi wa ibadullahis saliheen.”
“At-tahiyyatu Lillahi wa-salawatu wa’t-tayyibat, as-salamu ‘alayka ayyuha’n-Nabiyyu wa rahmat-Allahi wa barakatuhu. As-salamu ‘alayna wa ‘alaa ‘ibad-Illah is-saliheen. ashhadu alla ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuluhu”
“All the best compliments and the prayers and the good things are for Allah. Peace and Allah’s Mercy and Blessings be on you, O Prophet! Peace be on us and on the pious servants of Allah, I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and I also testify that Muhammad is Allah’s servant and His Apostle.”
They’re in my salah (prayer) in front of me, I don’t see them yet. I give salaams (last part of prayer) to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ in present tense in every salah, ‘wa ibadullahis saliheen.’ Who are ibadullahis saliheen? Where Allah (AJ) described they are Nabiyeen (Prophets), Siddiqeen (truthful), Shuhada (witnesses) wa Saliheen (righteous). And they are with Allah (AJ), they are the best of company.
4:69 – “Wa man yuti’ Allaha war Rasula faolayeka ma’al ladheena an’ama Allahu ‘alayhim minan Nabiyeena, was Siddiqeena, wash Shuhadai, was Saliheena wa hasuna olayeka rafeeqan.” (Surat An-Nisa)
“And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger (pbuh) are in the company of those on whom Allah has bestowed His Favours/Blessings – of the prophets, the sincere Truthful, the witnesses to the truth (who testify), and the Righteous, and excellent are those as companions.” (The Women, 4:69)
Nazar of Saliheen Cleanses Us to Be Under Nazar of Prophet ﷺ
So, it means that when I’m sitting in my tafakkur, ya Rabbi, let me to be with these saliheen. Let me to always be in their presence, let me to know that I’m nothing, I’m nothing, I’m nothing.’ And that they dress me from this faiz (downpouring blessings), they dress me from their nazar (gaze), and that they prepare me, clean me, train me to be under the nazar of – what’s next? Nazar of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Their job is to bring the tarbiyah (discipline) and the good characteristic. Take away the wildness, take away all the bad characteristics so that to present you to the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. And then their tafakkur opens and they find themselves always in the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Out of their ihtiram and their respect, they bow out of that and feel a shyness to be in that presence.
When Allah (AJ) Accepts Your Sincerity, You Feel the Divinely Presence
So, it means then there’s a system in which they train. You make your tafakkur (contemplation), train in the tafakkur. Show that you’re nothing, show that you have the best of manners. When that begins to open and Allah (AJ) accepts that sincerity, they begin to feel the presence. They feel the energy.
They understood that it’s nothing, that that light coming into them is dressing them because those servants have from Allah’s (AJ) Hearing, that Hadith al Qudsi; that’s when all these hadith, they come together. ‘When my servant approaches through voluntary worshipness, I become the ears in which they hear, the eyes in which they see, the breath in which they breathe, the tongue in which they speak, the hands in which they touch, the feet in which they move.’
“…, wa la yazaalu ‘Abdi yataqarrabu ilayya bin nawafile hatta ahebahu, fa idha ahbabtuhu kunta Sam’ahul ladhi yasma’u behi, wa Basarahul ladhi yubsiru behi, wa Yadahul lati yabTeshu beha, wa Rejlahul lati yamshi beha, wa la in sa alani la a’Teyannahu, …”
“…My servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary acts of worship so that I shall love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him…” Hadith Qudsi (Sahih al-Bukhari, 81:38:2)
Be Firm in What You Want to Achieve
What Allah (AJ) dressed that servant, He begins to dress upon the light of the one making tafakkur. As soon as they sit for tafakkur and contemplation, when Allah (AJ) finds that the character is good and they’re sincere and they have istiqam (firmness) that they continuously practice, continuously practice, continuously practice, they’re firm in what they want to achieve.
72:16 – “Wa alla wis taqaamoo ‘alat tareeqati la asqaynaahum maa’an ghadaqaa” (Surat Al-Jinn)
“And [Allah revealed] that: “If they had only remained firm on their tariqa (straight path), We would have bestowed on them Rain/water in abundance.” (The Jinn, 72:16)
Your Greatest Jihad is Against Yourself
This is the greatest jihad; it’s not a jihad, you hit this door one time and all the walls come down and you pillage and take all the treasures. Prophet ﷺ described, ‘This is jihad al akbar.’ This is to Companions who were fierce in battle, this battle is far greater.’
“An Jabiru qala, ‘qadema ‘ala Rasulullahi (saws) qawmun ghazatun, faqalan Nabiyu Sallallahu Alayhi was Salaam: ” Qademtum khaira maqdamin min jihadil Asghar ilal Jihadil Akbar.” Qeela “wa ma al Jihadil Akbar?” Qala, “Mujahidatul ‘Abdi hawahu.”
Jabir (as) narrated: ‘Some warriors came to the Holy Prophet (pbuh). He (Muhammad (pbuh)) said to them, “Welcome back, you came from minor Jihad/Struggle to the greater Struggle.”
It was asked, ‘What is the greater/big struggle, Oh Prophet of Allah?” The Prophet (pbuh) replied: “It is the servant’s fight against his own Self/mundane wills/desires.” (Bayhaqi Kitab ul Zuhd-al-Kabir)
Hold Tight to the Shaykh During Testing
Because everyday you, you work, you work, you work and you feel nothing’s opening. And you feel nothing’s opening; and Allah (AJ) pushing you, pushing you, pushing you until the day you want to quit, that may be the day that it’s supposed to open. He wants to see – are you a quitter? Then quit. There’s 10,000 more lined up to come in. If you go, go, go until the point you think you’re going to quit and say to yourself, ‘I’m never going to quit until I’m dead in the grave.’
Then they swing you around like you’re on the rope of a helicopter, swing you, swing you, swing you to shake you. Say, ‘Get off.’ And you say, ‘I’m not getting off.’ They say, ‘Get off.’ Say, ‘I’m not getting off.’ And then they swing you a little more. That’s the imtihan (test) in life. Allah’s (AJ) not in need for anybody to do this. He’s not in need to grant you the heavens. He’s not in need to grant you spiritual vision.
Above Every Knower, There’s a Higher Knower
Say, ‘I’ll make you see what no one has seen. I’ll make you hear what no ear has heard’ because each wali has a gift uniquely from Allah (AJ) in which they feel they’re the highest level of awliya because it’s so unique and personal from Divinely Presence. And other awliya come to teach them, no, no, there’s still a lot higher. Above every knower, there’s a higher knower.
But Allah’s (AJ) not in need to give this. This isn’t mandatory to give it. It’s from us to be firm, to be committed and to continuously struggle against our self. Now a day is coming in which difficulty will be immense upon Earth. If you think that you can get your guidance from your physical eyes, it’s not going to work. What’s going to come to the physical eyes is horrific images. You think your ears, from what you can hear on radio or not hear on radio anymore will give you guidance? What is it that will give you a state of assurity? All the money that you saved up and paid off your mortgage quickly – it’s not going to help you.
Exchange Your Dunya for Your Akhirah
And that’s why at the beginning of Surat al Tawbah was the first gate. Everybody should go back and read Surat al Tawbah. At that first gate, Allah (AJ) says, ‘We buy from you your dunya, and We give in exchange your akhirah.‘ There is a bargain and a transaction that has to be made. If you’re holding your dunya and think you’re going to grab all of the akhirah, Allah (AJ) clarifies, ‘No, no; We buy from you your dunya.’ They’re going to take it. They take everything away and they give you in exchange your akhirah. If Allah (AJ) want to give it back at another time, that’s Allah’s (AJ) prerogative.
9:111 – “Inna Allaha Ashtara Minal Mu’umineena ‘Anfusahum Wa ‘Amwalahum Bi anna Lahum AlJannata, …Wa’dan ‘Alayhi Haqqan fit Tawrati wal Injeeli wal Qur’ani, Wa Man Awfa Bi ‘ahdihi Mina Allahi, Fastabshiro Bi bay’ikum Al Ladhi Baaya’tum Bihi, Wa Dhalika Huwal Fawzul ‘azeem.” (Surat At-Tawbah)
“Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise…[It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur’an. And who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in your Bayat which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great achievement. (The Repentance, 9:111)
So, they don’t hoard up everything thinking it’s going to be forever. The world is coming to an end, the bargain has to be made, faith has to be shown. Then Allah (AJ) said that, ‘These ones are sincere. They believe that all these difficulties are coming. They believe in this belief and they want their heart to open.’ And they’re practicing their best to have good character, good character. No matter how much they’re bombarded with difficulties, how much they’re bombarded with testing and backbiting and gossiping, they remain in good character, inshaAllah, until Allah’s (AJ) rida and satisfaction dresses upon them.
Pay Attention to the Souls Who Support Awliya
At that time, they understood that dress comes upon them. They understood, ‘I’m nothing.’ When they’re nothing, the dress of these awliyaullah begin to dress them. They hear from that reality, they see from that reality, they breathe from that reality, and they speak from that reality. They speak words that nobody speaks; not because of them, but because who is behind them. Those souls behind, when you efface yourself into nothingness, their tajalli (manifestation) and their reality come into that insan (human being). They’re merely like a hollow shell, like a rent-a-car. The rider is the people of haqqaiq.
That’s why they would say for Sayyidina Jalaludin Rumi (Q), ‘Don’t worry about the the ney. Don’t worry about the actual ney but you should be concerned is who’s blowing through it.’ It means I see this person, doesn’t size up to me as anything. That’s not your concern. What you should be worried about it who is behind that person. Who talks through them? Who sees through them? Who hears through them? Whose hands support them? Whose feet are under them? Because they’re just a reflection of that reality. That’s the whole reality of tafakkur. Tafakkur was not to make myself into something, but was mawt qablil mawt, to die before I die. If you’re dead, then who is present now in that chair? InshaAllah.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
