Mi‘raj (Ascension) of Believer is to The Heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ

أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ٱلْرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ. Madad ya Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem, Ya Habibul ‘Azeem, unzur halana wa ishfa’lana, ‘abidona bi madadikum wa nazarekum.
Atiullah wa atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum. Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُم… ﴿٥٩﴾ …
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
The Physical Mi’raj (Ascension) & “Qaaba Qawsayni Aw Adna”
Alhamdulillah, that we’re days away from the Isra wal Mi’raj (Night Journey and Ascension). That the immensity in which Allah (AJ) called His beloved, Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, to His Divinely Presence. That coming either Tuesday, Wednesday, but we’ll make announcement and make our zikr (Divine remembrance) and have a program for that evening. The immensity of Allah (AJ) bringing the physicality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ to His Divinely Presence. In which Allah (AJ) describes, “Qaaba qawsayni aw adna” ‘the distance of two bow lengths’ – if you take the two bows and put together, ‘or nearer.’ Because of the adab (manner) and the respect. That the ocean “La ilaha illAllah (There is no deity but Allah)” is reflecting and bringing into existence the ocean of “Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.”
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ ﴿٩﴾
53:9 – “Fakana qaaba qawsayni aw adna.” (Surat An-Najm)
“And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer [to the Divine Presence].” (The Star, 53:9)
لَا إِلَهَ إلاَّ اللهُ مُحَمَّدٌا رَسُولْ الله
“La ilaha illallahu Muhammadun Rasulallah”
“There is no deity but Allah, Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
“Aw adna” is that it comes so close; the energies are moving but yet is separate. There is nothing like unto Allah (AJ). The immensity of the Isra wal Mi’raj and what Allah (AJ) wanted to show for all of humanity, that this would be a sign that Allah (AJ) has a Divinely portal. Then when Allah (AJ) called upon His servant, His beloved servant, not with spirituality but with physicality. To traverse the bounds of all sciences and all physics and anything known to mankind. That Allah (AJ) took the physicality of Prophet ﷺ and with a blink of an eye, is moving towards the Divinely Presence. This is understanding of movement through space and time. This is the immensity of the master of Haqiqatut Tayy (Reality of Folding Time and Space) and the movement. The immense reality in which Allah (AJ), which are so many in the examples of Isra wal Mi’raj, of how much Allah (AJ) loves His servant.
Adab and Ihtiram (Respect) of Honoring Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
For the tariqahs (spiritual paths), it is important for them to know the ihtiram and the respect that we show for Prophet ﷺ. When the people whom have no respect and no good character and no manners, they ask always why do we have to have special respect for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ? Why to stand up, why to respect, why to have the tashrif (honour)? Why to have the beatific Miladun Nabi ﷺ (celebration of the birthday of Prophet ﷺ) events, why to anytime to gather for the sake of Allah (AJ), and His Rasul ﷺ?
Why is it a beatific event for us? Allah (AJ) gives to us the examples of Isra wal Mi’raj. Allah (AJ) gives to us that when you want to host someone you love, everything you do must show that love. It teaches the manners and good manners, “Khuluqal ‘azheem” (magnificent character) that the Islamic nation is supposed to have. MashAllah, with each other they seem to have.
Signs of the Last Days: Inversion of Values
They have beautiful events for each other in these countries. They glorify and glamorize themselves and football players and soccer players. They put feasts and buffets and cars. They give these dirty people gifts of millions of dollars and cars. That is why? To show they have ihtiram and respect for that individual whom Allah (AJ) has no respect for. But for the one whom Allah (AJ) respects, they come back and ask us: ‘Why do you have to respect him ﷺ?’ This is the Hadith of Prophet ﷺ. The worst of people would be glamorized and raised up high, and the best of people whom Allah’s (AJ) servants are, would be or at least they would attempt to be brought down and disrespected. These are the signs of the last days. We said that this dajjal (man of deceit) is moving. Everything he is stepping into, every Hadith of Prophet ﷺ is in front of our eyes.
Allah’s (AJ) Love Shown Through Divine Protocol
Allah (AJ), to show the love of His beloved, He sent for him His two archangels to prepare that journey. He sent for Prophet ﷺ clothing from Paradise. He sent for Prophet ﷺ bowls of water from Paradise to make his wudu (ablution) and to wash him. So means Allah (AJ) gives us the way of good character; when you love someone, you have to show how you love them by how you treat them. The most beloved in creation, we have to show from everything we have that love. This is what Allah (AJ) gives to us. We’ve mentioned this before in other associations with other ‘ulama (scholars), and they don’t even think of it that way. That Allah (AJ) sent for clothing, water, sent from the best of protocol. The best of the archangels to ‘Go and greet and bring My servant to My Presence.’ Not low level, the highest level of Allah’s (AJ) servants were sent to greet and to accompany Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. To give him his own private vehicle in which to approach the Divinely Presence.
Blindness of Hearts Despite Reading Holy Qur’an
You think that Allah (AJ) is looking to us as a small human being and say that, ‘You can’t even match this love I have. You can’t even match the effort of this love that I have.’ But they have eyes and they don’t see; they have ears and they don’t hear. They claim to have read the Qur’an, read the Qur’an, understand the Qur’an, yet they seem to have lost all of these similitudes.
وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ ۖ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ آذَانٌ لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ كَالْأَنْعَامِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْغَافِلُونَ ﴿١٧٩﴾
7:179 – “Wa laqad zara’naa li jahannama kaseeram minal Jinni wal Insi lahum quloobul laa yafqahoona bihaa, wa lahum a’yunul laa yubisiroona bihaa, wa lahum aazaanul laa yasma’oona bihaa; Olaayika kal an’aami bal hum adhal; Olaayika humul ghaafiloon” (Surat Al-A’raf)
“Many from the Jinns and human beings, We have created for hell: They have hearts with which they don’t understand, they have eyes with which they don’t see, and they have ears with which they don’t hear. They are like cattle, nay they are more misguided. They are heedless (of warning).” (The Heights, 7:179)
Arrival of Prophet ﷺ at Masjid al-Aqsa & Greeting of the Prophets (as)
That Allah (AJ) after washing, bathing, dressing, and escorting Prophet ﷺ is sent to Al-Aqsa. Allah (AJ) command all the nabiyeen, all the prophets (as) and messengers (as) of Allah (AJ) to stand outside and to greet Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Why? Because Imam al Mursaleen (The Leader of the Messengers) has arrived, the Imam and the king of the heavens and the Earths. That how Allah (AJ) is showing, ‘All My creation is subjected to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعاً مِّنْهُ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لَّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ﴿١٣﴾
45:13 – “Wa sakhkhara lakum ma fis Samawati wa ma fil Ardi jamee’an minhu, inna fee dhalika la ayatin liqawmin yatafakkaron.” (Surat Al-Jathiya)
“And He has subjected/gave the authority to you [Sayyidina Mahmood (pbuh)], as from Him, all that is in the heavens and on earth: Behold, in that are Signs indeed for those who reflect/Contemplate [Meditate].” (The Crouching, 45:13)
All Prophets (as) Prayed Behind Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ
“Sakhkhara lakum ma fis Samawati wa ma fil Ard.” ‘I have subjected whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, “wa jamee’an” and anything in between.’ The israhi – the movement towards Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem was Allah (AJ) made everything to come out. All the nabiyeen, all the messengers (as) and prophets (as), to come to greet Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Fulfill the covenant and ayatul kareem (the generous verse) of Qur’an that, ‘If Prophet ﷺ comes in your time that you accept him as the messenger of Allah (AJ).’ “Wa qalo bala” – and all prophets (as) and messengers (as) said: ‘Yes.’ Because they take from the messengership of Prophet ﷺ, agents of the Rasul ﷺ.
(٨١ ) وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ لَمَا آتَيْتُكُم مِّن كِتَابٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ، ثُمَّ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ، لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُ ۚ قَالَ أَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ إِصْرِي ۖ قَالُوا أَقْرَرْنَا ۚ قَالَ فَاشْهَدُوا وَأَنَا مَعَكُم مِّنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ
3:81 – “Wa iz akhazal laahu misaaqan Nabiyyeena lamaaa aataitukum min Kitaabinw wa Hikmatin, summa jaaa’akum Rasoolum musaddiqul limaa ma’akum latu’minunna bihee wa latansurunnah; qaala a’aqrartum wa akhaztum alaa zaalikum isree qaalooo aqrarnaa; qaala fashhadoo wa ana ma’akum minash shaahideen” (Surah ‘Ali Imran)
“And when Allah (AJ) took the covenant of the Prophets: [saying], ‘Whatever I gave you of the Book and Wisdom. Then there comes to you a Messenger (Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)) confirming what is with you, you [must] believe in him and you [must] support him (to be victorious.)” [Allah (AJ)] said, “Do you agree and take upon that My covenant?” They answered: ‘We agree.’ Allah (AJ) said: ‘Then bear witness, and I will be with you among the witnesses.” (The Family of Imran, 3:81)
As a result of Isra wal Mi’raj they prayed the salah (daily prayer) of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, the Islamic salah. In attahiyat (sitting on knees during prayer) they gave their shahadah (testimony of faith) and their salaams (greetings) to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. As a result, all nations are confirmed by the Isra that they’re under the flag of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. It means that when all the prophets (as) make their salah and all the prophets (as) in attahiyat give their shahadah, there is no one outside of their Islam.
التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ. السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ، السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ
“Attahiyatu Lillahi wa salawatu wat tayyibatu. Assalamu ‘alayka ayyuhan Nabiyu ﷺ,
wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. Assalamu ‘alayna wa ‘alaa ‘Ibadulllahis saliheen. Ashhadu an la ilaha illallahu wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa Rasuluhu.”
“All the best compliments and the prayers/praising and the pure/good things are for Allah. Peace and blessings be upon you, O’ Prophet (Muhammad (pbuh)) and His Mercy and His Blessings too! Peace be on us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I testify that there is no deity but Allah (AJ), and I testify that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the servant and Messenger of Allah (AJ).”
Ascension Through the Heavens & Angelic Respect
No one can say I am Christian when their prophets (as) accepted Islam. No one can say they’re Jewish when their prophets (as) accepted Islam. They cannot be independent of their rasul (messenger) and their nabi (prophet) when the rasuls and the nabis accepted Islam. they gave their shahadah to Prophet ﷺ, and the deen (religion) of Allah (AJ) is confirmed, is Islam is the only religion on Earth.
إِنَّ الدِّيْنَ عِنْدَ اللهِ الإِسْلاَمُ…﴿١٩﴾
3:19 – “Innad deena ‘indAllahil Islam.” (Surat Ali-Imran)
“The religion with God is Islam [Submission]…” (Family of Imran, 3:19)
That all the messengers (as) and all the prophets (as) are under the flag of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Allah (AJ) then prepares for the ascension into the heavens. Again, as a sign of respect, made every angel of every paradise to come outside of the paradise. So means that the protocol, the protocol of kingdoms, that if a king is coming you’re required to stand outside for the arrival of the king. The king doesn’t come to you but you greet the king outside of the threshold. It means there is an immense protocol in kingdoms.
Mi’raj was Physical, Not a Dream or Vision
When you see how kings of dunya (material world) greet each other, it is not a drop in the kingdom of Allah (AJ). When Malik al Hayat (King of Eternity) wa Malik ad Dunya (King of Manifested World) is going to now make an ascension into his kingdoms with his physicality, Allah (AJ) made all His servants, ‘Come outside of your gates to greet Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ to describe to his physicality all that you do and all that your responsibilities. Accompany him into each paradise describing its realities to his physicality.’ Because it is a sign of tashrif (honor) that only can be commanded by Allah (AJ).
So, this is not like a spiritual vision. This is not somebody like a grandmother having a dream of heavens. This is an immense event that bad-mannered people, jealous people, keep trying to diminish the importance. They think maybe it was spiritual, maybe it was this, maybe… No—it was exactly what Allah (AJ) described it to be. That Prophet ﷺ was called to His Divinely Presence to honor his physicality. His spirituality is always in Divinely Presence.
Honor of the Physical Body & Relics of the Prophet ﷺ
The spirituality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is already described: ‘I was a Rasul before Adam (as) was between clay and water.’
قَالَ رَسُولَ اللَّه ﷺ َ: “كُنْتُ نَبِيًّا وَآدَمُ بَيْنَ الْمَاءِ وَالطِّينِ.”
Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ:“Kuntu Nabiyan wa Adama baynal Maa e wat Teen.”
The Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “I was a Prophet and Adam was between water and clay.”
This was to grant the honor to the physicality of Prophet ﷺ so that we would know how much Allah (AJ) has a love for Prophet ﷺ. That his holy physicality, which illuminates this Earth and universes, is located in Madinatul Munawwara (luminous city of Prophet ﷺ). That same flesh and blood and hair that Allah (AJ) called into physical Divinely Presence of “Qaaba qawsayni aw adna.” That consists all of its lights and its realities within the garments, the fabric, and the relics of Prophet ﷺ. In the Moye Mubarak (Holy Hair of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) and wherever they are on Earth, that hair went into Allah’s (AJ) Divinely Presence. Within its DNA, within its light, within all of its realities Allah (AJ) granted the honour to the physicality. The spirituality already had immense reality that can’t be understood, but granted that to the physicality of Prophet ﷺ. So that his nation wouldn’t forget that, ‘Whom has been into My Divinely Presence, none can be named. But you have, you have such a servant, and he ﷺ is located in Madinatul Munawwara.’
By visiting Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, you’re being dressed by “Qaaba qawsayni aw adna.” You’re being dressed by the location, the love of that servant who loved Allah (AJ), loved Allah (AJ) with immense perfection. As a result, was gifted and rewarded. The reward beyond for himself but for the barakah and the blessings of his nation. That everything about Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is a holy relic, is precious, is not something that can be calculated. It is dressed from the Divinely lights of Allah (AJ) that no man, no woman, no child, no angel will ever understand nor ever see.
Beyond Sidratul Muntaha (Lote Tree of the Farthest Boundary) – Where Sayyidina Jibreel (as) Stops
Because when Prophet ﷺ was going, Sayyidina Jibreel (as) was coming and then stopped and say, ‘Ya Jibreel, come.’ He says, ‘I don’t exist beyond this point.’ Because we described all creation exists within Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. But only Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ can go to the point of the pardeh (veil) and the light that touches “La ilaha illAllah.” At that point there is no angel that exists; there is no creation that exists. There is nothing that exists except the essence and the reality of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. Allah (AJ) granted that to the physicality. That, ‘Come not to My paradises, not to the throne, but come to My Divinely Presence of Qaaba qawsayni aw adna.’ Into the reality of the essence, the zaat of every unimaginable reality that Allah (AJ) has. To dress the reality, the physicality of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ, and as a blessing for his nation.
Love of the Prophet ﷺ is the Source of Energy
That you’ll be with whom you love. Whom you love will always be with you, and whom you love never leaves you alone.
عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: … فَقَالَ (رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ): ” أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ.”
[اَلْمَصْدَرْ: مُسْلِمْ:. ٧٥٢٠ ]
‘An Anasin (ra): … Faqala (Rasulullahi) ﷺ: “Anta ma’a man ahbabta.”
Narrated Anas ibn Malik (ra) that …the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “You will be with whom you love.” [Source: Muslim 7520]
If you feel alone, work on your love. You’re doing something wrong. If you feel you don’t have energy and you don’t have himmah, you don’t have zeal, you don’t have him ﷺ. Make your salawat (praises upon Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)). Make your Durood Sharif (praising on Prophet Muhammad ﷺ). He is Sahibul Imdad (those who support), the owner of all energy, the owner of “Qaaba qawsayni aw adna.” So means every sickness has its cure.
How to Connect to Prophet ﷺ Through Salawat
When we’re feeling down and we feel we don’t have energy, we feel we don’t have himmah (zeal), we don’t have this, we don’t have that. What it really means is that we don’t have enough of the light and love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ within us. Anytime you want to see him ﷺ, anytime you want to feel him ﷺ, anytime you want anything from him ﷺ, Allah (AJ) gave to us [shaykh holds tasbih in his hands and mentions it.] The people who are Ahle Zikr (people of Divinely remembrance). That as soon as they make the Durood Sharif and salawats upon Prophet ﷺ, with all respect.
Isolate yourself, make sure you have wudu, wash, perfume yourself, isolate yourself, and asking Prophet ﷺ that, ‘Grant me an audience and a time with you.’ Then begin to respectfully connect your heart with the shaykh. See ourselves in the presence of Prophet’s ﷺ Rauza e Sharif (Holy Burial Chamber). Don’t look for his face ﷺ. Don’t ask from bad character. Say, ‘I’m nobody to look at anyone’s face; my face belongs upon your holy feet.’ See his beatific feet, his beatific sandal, and say, ‘This is my paradise, my face, my head upon your feet.’ Then make your Durood Sharif with all sincerity and love. There is no way that you can come away from that without energy, without the faiz (downpouring emanation), without the ‘ishq (love), without the muhabbat (love).
Overcoming Laziness & Gaining Zeal Through Consistent Tasbih (Prayer Beads)
So, anytime we say we don’t have something, deficient in something, the only thing we’re deficient in is the love of Prophet ﷺ. Only thing stopping us from that reality is a tasbih. This is the greatest fight. How just to wash, perfume ourself, and take out our tasbih. Shaitan can’t be that powerful. It just takes the will and desire. But yet, we said, we say, we say, and people still email, ‘I have no power, I have no feelings, I have nothing.’ All you’re saying is that you’re not able to love Prophet ﷺ, which is not hard. It is just your tasbih.
Make the time, make the effort, keep the ‘ishq and keep the love. The owner of these energies, the owner of these blessings, the owner of these realities, immensely generous, and asks nothing from anyone other than good character. Even if you don’t have good character, he gives you enough intercession to bring you into good character. They say, they come in either handfuls, cuploads, or ocean fills based on the amount of their sayyiat and sins to the door of the one whom can wash them and purify them of all negativity. He brings them back towards positivity and to the light of Islam and the light of Allah (AJ). So, alhamdulillah with a Prophet ﷺ that is so immensely generous, this is our gift that Allah (AJ) has given to this nation.
Our Mi’raj is to the Holy Heart of Muhammad ﷺ
As we come towards the Isra wal Mi’raj, that this teaching and training for us is that our Mi’raj is into the heart of Prophet ﷺ. Your Mi’raj is not the Mi’raj of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. If Allah (AJ) is welcoming Prophet ﷺ to His Divinely Presence, Isra wal Mi’raj is the dress that every year Allah (AJ) opens the pardeh. He opens the realities and re-brings all the dress of all the angels, all malaika, all the blessings upon the soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and waiting for the students who’ve been trained. That you want from that reality, your Mi’raj is to the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That’s the day in which to connect your heart. That’s the day to do the muraqabah (spiritual connection) with your shaykh.
Shaykh as Buraq (Noble Mystical Horse): Holding the Rope to Rise
Your shaykh is your buraq. You don’t go anywhere without a buraq. Our animators have to show that if you understood. The shaykh is like a rocket, and his rocket is connected to his shaykhs and to the heart of Prophet ﷺ. Every spiritual event, what happens when you’re connected to these rockets? The rocket with the engine is the one that takes off, and everything holding on is skyrocketed into the heavens. So that’s why Allah (AJ) is saying, “A’tasimo bihablillah.”
وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّـهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا ۚ ﴿١٠٣﴾
3:103 – “Wa’tasimo bihab lillahi jamee’an wa la tafarraqo…” (Surat Ali-Imran)
“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not separate…” (Family of Imran, 3:103)
Because they should have understood, when they connect and connect their heart, they’re holding tight. Hold tight, because this rocket is about to shoot into the heaven. Anyone holding to that, shoots into the heavens. But the one not understanding thinks that if they sit somehow a rocket will be developed under them, and they will be flying nowhere. They have no rocket. It is not about every individual person being a rocket and shooting into the heavens. It is about holding tight to the rope.
Those Who Hold Tight are Raised
“Atiullah” nobody can achieve. “Atiur Rasul” only Prophet ﷺ was obedient to Allah (AJ). “Wa atiur Rasul” is in “Wal Ulil amre minkum.”
…أَطِيعُواللَّه وَأَطِيعُوٱلرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْكُمْ… ﴿٥٩﴾
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat An-Nisa)
“… Obey Allah (AJ), Obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
They hold and obey to Prophet ﷺ, they hold with a firm grip. Anyone who holds to them, when these rockets shoot up, they go straight up. They don’t need to have a rocket. So people come to the servants who serve these servants, say, ‘You don’t look like you have any special training.’ They don’t need special training; they just need a strong grip. With that strong grip, when they hold tight to the shaykh, the shaykh is like a rocket going because he is already been trained on how to hold tight to his shaykh. They’re all holding to the hand of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Humility at the Threshold of Rasul ﷺ
So, it means the Mi’raj of the believer is to the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. They make the Durood, they make their wudu, they fragrance themself on the evening, and they make lots of Durood Sharif. Like I described for us, and see ourselves at the feet of Prophet ﷺ—never more than that. If he ﷺ wishes to show, that’s something different and you’ll get your isharah (sign) if that happens.
But for the servant to enter, that, ‘I’m nothing, and Ya Rabbi, just keep me at the threshold, put my face upon his holy feet.’ That’s why in the na’at sharif (prophetic praising), they described that even his threshold, the dust of his threshold, let it be the kohl of my eyes. That the dust of his feet is enough to beautify my eyes and my vision. It is a path of humility, not arrogance. Not something that people feel they’re owed or that they’re at the level of. We’re not at level of anything. We’re only asking through Allah’s (AJ) immense salvation and mercy that He grant us to be near to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and his ‘ashiqeen (lovers) which are the “Ulil amre minkum.”
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
