From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi.
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Last Ten Days of Ramadan and Martyrdom of Imam Ali (as)
Allah (AJ), inshaAllah, dress us and bless us from the immensity of the last 10 days of Ramadan – “Itqun minan naar” and the freedom from fire, the freedom from difficulties.
‘An Salman al Farsi (ra), an Rasulullahi ﷺ qala: “Shahru Ramadana awwalahu rahmatun, wa awsatuhu maghfiratun, wa akhiruhu ‘itqun minan naar.” [Al Imam al Albani, Meshkat al Masabih, Kitab 7, Hadith 9]
Narrated by Salman al Farsi (ra), that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “The first (ten days) of the month of Ramadan is mercy, the middle (ten days) is forgiveness, and the last (ten days) is salvation/freedom from the fire.” [Al Imam al Albani, Meshkat al Masabih, Book 7, Hadith 9]
At the gate of that reality, Allah (AJ) gave us the shahadat (martyrdom) of Imam Ali (as), in which the dunya (material world) wish to extinguish that light. But Allah (AJ) kept that reality alive upon this Earth. As a result, by remembering Imam Ali (as), the Ulul al Baab (Gatekeepers of the Reality) – the door to these infinite oceans of mercy and rahmah (mercy), which are the presence and the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That by remembering him in these holy nights and the last 10 days of Ramadan becomes a gate for us, a door for us to enter into the immensity of “Itqun minan naar” and freedom from hellfire. Freedom from fire, difficulty, and punishment.
Ramadan and the Secret of Submission
This is an immense dress from the blessings of Ramadan, in which Ramadan is the secret of servanthood and submission. The ninth month is the secret of submission. Ramadan is the gift of submission, in which Allah (AJ) God Mighty dresses and blesses the servant. As soon as they abstain from food and drink and abstain with their ears, with their eyes, with their desires, with all their senses, Allah (AJ) is granting them immense purities and immense realities.
Safeguarding the Senses from the Fire
This abstinence that Allah (AJ) has asked of us, Allah’s (AJ) reward is like an innocent child being born. That the purity of the ears, the purity of the eyes, the purity of the touch, the breath, and every sense, so that the true reality of taste and zawq, the reality of Ramadan, so that to open. It means that the muttaqeen (those with high level of consciousness) and awliyaullah (saints) whom come into our life and inspire us that achieve the highest realities of Ramadan in which all senses begin to fast. That Allah (AJ) protect these senses from jahannam (hellfire). That when the one whom fast with their ears and fast with their eyes, fast with the sense of touch, their breath, and all their senses, all the way to the sense of taste and food, that Allah (AJ) safeguard them from difficulty. Safeguard their sense from the fire of jahannam and the fire of torment and punishment.
That Allah (AJ) not to punish their ears, not to punish their eyesight, not to punish their sense of touch. Not to punish their taste and their bellies for all that they put within themselves that was not pleasing to Allah (AJ). Imagine then with all this mercy and all this rahmah, that when the servant is entering into this fast and being dressed by the reality of the fast. We described how much rahmah Allah (AJ) is dressing. Then think to all the creation that are not fasting, how much they miss from God’s mercy and rahmah and grace! How much is it a gift, this faith, that Allah (AJ) gives to us! How much it is a faith, how much is it a gift! We don’t truly recognize the immensity of that gift.
We’re a Nation that Upholds the Rights of Heavens
We described the night before that: all the things that we pray for in life and all the things that people are disappointed for not getting what they wanted. But what Allah (AJ) truly wants from us before we have so many requests and so many desires is, ‘Are you thankful for what I gave you? That I gave you to be from this nation, this favored nation of the heavens.’ Favored by the fact that they keep and uphold the rights of the heavens. It is not favored like a name brand that it is a noun or it is just a brand. But the favoritism that Allah (AJ) is showing is that this nation upholds the rights of the heavens. That if you think of something heavenly, then you would think of something clean and pure. Some people praying, fasting, all that Islam is representing upon the dirtiness of this Earth.
Then Allah (AJ) says, ‘I gave you the way of the heavens, and for that if you thank me for lifetimes it wouldn’t be the value of what I have given to you.’ So our life in this life of tafakkur and contemplation. It is to contemplate and be thankful for what Allah (AJ) has given to us of this faith, this way, this religion and which keeps the ways of Allah (AJ). That we become a dressed and favored nation. In a more and more darker time, in which this world becomes darker and darker in the oppressions of shaitan in which he imposes upon people.
Nearness to The Divine Through Love, Not Intellect
We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us from its immensities and keep us under the loving nazar (gaze) of these holy souls. By remembering Imam Ali (as) and the nazar and the power and the strength that comes with that remembrance. That Allah (AJ) kept this soul alive on dunya for the sake of guarding dunya. All it requires is to love these holy souls more than we love ourselves. By this act of love, we can push our soul to be near to them. It is not a process of the mind. It is not a process in which to think with my mind and how and what and where. But this is a process of the heart.
That when we remember them, love them. When we make our salawat (praises upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) and Durood (praising) upon Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and bring their remembrance to our heart and to our soul, we draw near to their presence. Our soul locks onto their presence. As Allah (AJ) is dressing and blessing them, then we become the recipients of that dress and that blessings. Only by the mere fact of love, not by ‘aqel (intellect), not by intelligence. So means whom you love, you’ll be with, and whom you love they’ll be with you. This brings all the faiz, the emanations, the Divinely grace upon our soul.
‘An Anasin (ra): … Faqala (Rasulullahi) ﷺ: “Anta ma’a man ahbabta.”
Narrated Anas ibn Malik (ra) that …the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “You will be with whom you love.” [Source: Muslim 7520]
When We Remember Holy Souls, They Remember Us
We pray that Allah (AJ) grant us from these lights and grant us from these blessings. That we do more and more of our salawats, more and more of our zikrullah (remembrance of Allah (AJ)). All of these are a dress upon the soul that brings us power and brings us lights and brings us emanations. That when we make Durood Sharif (praising on Prophet Muhammad ﷺ): “Allahumma salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa ‘ala aali Sayyidina Muhammad wa Sallim wa Ahshabi Sayyidina Muhammad wa Sallim,” all of these are zikrullah. When we remember them, they remember us.
“Allahumma salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa ‘ala aali Sayyidina Muhammadin wa Sallim.”
“O Allah! Send Peace and blessings upon our master Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and upon the Family of our master Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)”
When we praise upon Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, his nazar comes upon that soul and begins to reciprocate that blessing upon the soul. When we mention the holy family, they witness that reality that we have remembered them. From a higher station, they begin to send their nazar. When we remember the Holy Companions (as) and as-Saleem, and peace and tranquility upon their souls, their souls look upon our soul. Their nazar begins to dress us and bless us.
Salawat: A Free and Infinite Source of Divine Energy
So, these are an infinite power source, and Allah (AJ) gave it free. It just requires the tasbih (prayer beads) and keep making your salawat, keep making your praisings. This is the most powerful source of energy, and Allah (AJ) made that energy source to be free. That why is it then we don’t ignite that energy? That’s the doings of shaitan in which he stops us and makes us and beguiles us and fools us to forget to make our salawats, to make our Durood, and to make all our praisings. But this is the most powerful energy source that Allah (AJ) has given to creation and that is free. All it requires is a loving heart and one whom is committed with a himmah and a zeal in which to pray and praise upon that reality. It is a praying upon Allah (AJ) and His most favorite creation and the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Seeking Laylatul Qadr (Night of Power) and I’tikaf (Seclusion in the Masjid) in the Presence of Prophet ﷺ
We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us from the immensities of these nights and grant us Laylatul Qadr. Grant us the reality of Laylatul Qadr by not the virtue of any special secret but that we want to be in the hearts of these souls that are already in Allah’s (AJ) qadr (power). When we’re in the heart of Imam Ali (as), that is already the ocean of power. When we’re praying and praising upon the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, it is the source of where this qadr is coming. It is the house of Allah’s (AJ) qadr – is the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Anyone wishing to make i’tikaf, the most powerful i’tikaf, is to close your eyes, visualize the Rauza e Sharif (Holy burial chamber), and ask Prophet ﷺ that, ‘Allow me and my soul into the presence of your heart. Only in the presence of your heart can I receive these faiz (downpouring emanation), these lights, and these blessings, and Allah’s (AJ) satisfaction.’ We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us from the holiness of these nights and complete His favor upon our souls, our family, and our communities.
