Purify Your Senses During Fasting to Prevent Shaitan from Encroaching Upon Them

From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi

أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ 

A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ. Madad ya Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem, Ya Habibul ‘Azeem, unzur halana wa ishfa’lana, ‘abidona bi madadikum wa nazarekum.

Atiullah wa atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum. And always a reminder for myself ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.

أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُم… ﴿٥٩﴾‏ …

4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)

“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)

Enter the Month of Ramadan Through the Gate of Mercy, Baab ur Rahmah

Alhamdulillah, inshaAllah, getting ready for the opening of the holy month of Ramadan. That the awrad (daily practice) and the wazifa (spiritual practice), inshaAllah, for either Monday night, Tuesday, whenever they announce then the opening of the holy month of Ramadan, then we’ll go live for that recitation. InshaAllah, welcoming the holy month of Ramadan and then we prepare ourselves physically and spiritually. That Allah (AJ) accept from Baab ur Rahmah (the Gate of Mercy), that Allah (AJ) gave to us the first ten days is the immense oceans of rahmah and mercy. That mercy is the love and the presence and the Nurul Muhammad ﷺ (light of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ).

 عَنْ سَلْمَانِ اَلْفَارِسِيْ رَضِيْ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَنْ رَسُوْلُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قال: ” شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ أَوَّلُهُ رَحْمَةٌ، وَأَوْسَطُهُ مَغْفِرَةٌ، وَآخِرُهُ عِتْقٌ مِنَ النَّارِ.”  [ الإمَامْ اَلْألْبَانِي، مِشْكَاةْ اَلْمَصَابِيح ، كتاب ٧، حديث ٩] 

‘An Salman al Farsi (ra), an Rasulullahi ﷺ  qala: “Shahru Ramadana awwalahu rahmatun, wa awsatuhu maghfiratun, wa akhiruhu ‘itqun minan naar.” [Al Imam al Albani, Meshkat al Masabih, Kitab 7, Hadith 9] 

Narrated by Salman al Farsi (ra), that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “The first (ten days) of the month of Ramadan is mercy, the middle (ten days) is forgiveness, and the last (ten days) is salvation/freedom from the fire.”  [Al Imam al Albani, Meshkat al Masabih, Book 7, Hadith 9] 

 Fasting in Ramadan is a Gift from Allah (AJ) for This Nation

As a result of that love and that presence, it’s a gate in which to enter the oceans of Ramadan and the intention of fasting. That Allah (AJ) accept the fast and that Allah (AJ) grant His immense favors upon our soul. The completion of Allah’s (AJ) ni’mat and blessings to be dressed upon the soul of all the lights and all the realities that we cannot achieve with any other action other than fasting. That it’s a gift from Allah (AJ) for the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. It’s a symbol of the immense love that Allah (AJ) has for the reality of Prophet ﷺ and that to honor the presence of Prophet ﷺ by honoring his nation, by raising the status of the nation, the lights of the nation so that all other nations will be astonished that what type of magnificent and munificent reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and what type of nation did Allah (AJ) wrote for them and the lights that are dressed upon them.

Shaitan Plays With Us as We Have Forgotten Our Reality

So it’s an immense blessing, immense blessing that we can’t achieve these realities by any action and by any giving or by any doing. The only way that Allah (AJ) gives to us is by the reality of fasting and the reality of fasting with all senses. That we described many times and every time we’re entering into Ramadan, as a reminder, that Allah (AJ) grants a salvation that to grant the reality of fasting with our hearing and that to abstain from what’s of not goodness, backbiting, bad sounds, bad realities is to fast with the ears by intending, “Ya Rabbi, that as Ramadan is opening, I’m intending to enter into Your oceans of rahmah and mercy and the immense oceans of siyam (fasting) and the siyam and the fasting with my ears. I’m intending to fast with my eyes and that to clean my eyes, clean my vision and to purify my vision that controls the purity of my heart.”

For that which the eyes see, it contaminates the heart. The purity of the eyes is a direct reflection on the purity of the heart and shaitan (satan) knows these realities. We understand how shaitan is attacking. It’s humans that forgot their reality. So, the reason the shaitan plays with insan’s (mankind’s) ears is to damage their heart so that they hear and destroy their frequency. The reason that shaitan attacks their eyes is so that they see and contaminate the heart. So, it means that he’s teaching how to attack the house of Allah (AJ). That’s the danger because he knows that the heart of these believers is the house of Allah (AJ).

قَال رَسُولَ اللَّه ﷺ، قَالْ اللَّه عَزَ وَجَلْ: ” قَلْبَ الْمُؤْمِنْ بَيْتُ الرَّب.” [حَدِيثْ اَلْقُدْسِي]

Qala Rasulallahi ﷺ, Qala Allah (AJ): “Qalb al mu’min baytur rabb.” [Hadith al Qudsi]

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, that Allah (AJ) said:“The heart of the believer is the House of the Lord.” (Holy Hadith)

Shaitan Consistently Seeks to Lower Our Vibrations to Attack Our Hearts

It means Allah’s (AJ) love and Divinely love will reside within that heart that’s pure and clean. So, everything that he is planning and attacking is to come against that heart. So, he knows that what they hear will destroy them, lower their vibration and bring them into the levels in which shaitans can attack them. Destroy their eyes and their vision so that the light within the heart is extinguished and brought down means even the fasting with the senses. That their desires if increase, increase, the strength of the nafs (ego) and to fast with one’s senses, their hawa (desires), their dunya (material world), all of these then bring down the attraction that shaitan uses with the nafs to come against insan. So, it means all of our senses that Allah (AJ) opened for us to enter into the immense realities of fasting with our senses and that Allah (AJ) grant us the immense blessings of them and that each year the reality of this sense is opened in which their sense of hearing, their sense of of touch, their sense of feeling, the reality of their breath that Allah (AJ) to open these immense oceans and realities, inshaAllah.

Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
