Laylatul Qadr (Night of Power) Has Already been Granted to You. Did You Perceive It?

أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ. Madad ya Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem, Ya Habibul ‘Azeem, unzur halana wa ishfa’lana, ‘abidona bi madadikum wa nazarekum.

Atiullah wa atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum. Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.

أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُم… ﴿٥٩﴾‏ …

4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)

“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)

We’re Under A Merciful Lord

Alhamdulillah that Allah (AJ) gave us this honor to enter into the holy month of Ramadan and to see its blessed nights and to fast its days with our shortcomings and faults. Allah’s (AJ) infinite rahmah (mercy) that He gave us all opportunities in which to perfect them.

Wisdom of Zakatul Fitr (Charity of Breaking Fast) and Divine Relief

Zakatul Fitr is a perfection for fasting, any errors within the fasting known and unknown to us within this contract in the Divine. The fitr zakah is a cleansing that fixes all. Fidyah (compensation) and all sorts of reliefs from Allah (AJ) for those who could not fast and medically had a reason, they can pay fidyah under the section of zakah (charity). They can pay their alms for what is required. So Allah (AJ) gives every opportunity for people to achieve His grace and to achieve His blessings.

So alhamdulillah that we are with a generous Lord and that Allah’s (AJ) infinite mercy and rahmah continuously dressing us and giving us a hint that, ‘I’ve made this game in your favour. My mercy outdoes My wrath.’

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: “لَمَّا قَضَى اللَّهُ الْخَلْقَ، كَتَبَ فِي كِتَابِهِ فَهُوَ عِنْدَهُ فَوْقَ الْعَرْشِ: إِنَّ رَحْمَتِي غَلَبَتْ غَضَبِي.” [صَحِيِحْ الْبُخَارِيُّ ٣٠٢٢ وَمُسْلِمٌ ٢٧٥١]

‘An Abi Hurairah (ra) qala, qala Rasulullahi ﷺ: “Lamma qada Allahul khalqa, kataba fi kitabihi fahuwa ‘indahu fawqal ‘Arshi: “inna Rahmati ghalabat ghadabi.” [Sahih Bukhari 3022, Sahih Muslim 2751]

Abu Hurairah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When Allah completed the creation, He wrote in His book with Him upon the Throne: Verily, My mercy prevails over My wrath.” [Authentic by: Bukhari 3022, & Muslim 2751]

Tariqah – A Symbol of Divine Mercy

Alhamdulillah that Allah (AJ) is granting us these immense, immense blessings. Then Allah (AJ) grant for us Laylatul Qadr (Night of Power). Then Allah (AJ) granted for us to be in the tariqahs (spiritual paths).

Tariqahs Carry the Secrets of Muhammadan Realities

Later in life finding that oh, the tariqahs are the symbols of reality and the immense lovers of the Muhammadan reality. Every ocean of every secret will be found in that Muhammadan reality. The ultimate secret is that Allah (AJ) describes, ‘I was a hidden treasure wanting to be found, wanting to be known,’ and that Allah (AJ) reveals His Divinely Self within this treasure called “Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.”

قَال رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ، قَالْ اللَّه عَزَ وَجَلْ: ” كُنْت كَنْزاً مخفيا فَأَحْبَبْت أَنْ أُعْرَفَ؛ فَخَلَقْت خَلْقاً فَعَرَّفْتهمْ بِي فَعَرَفُونِي.” [حَدِيثْ اَلْقُدْسِي – بِحَارْ اَلْأنْوَارْ، اَلْعَلَامَةْ اَلْمَجْلِسِيْ، جُزْء ٨٤، صَفْحَة ١٩٩]

Qala Rasulallahi ﷺ, Qala Allah (AJ): “Kuntu kanzan makhfiyya, fa ahbabtu an a’rafa, fa khalaqtu khalqan, fa ‘arraftahum bi fa ‘arafonee.” [Hadith al Qudsi – Behar al Anwar, Al ‘Alama al Majlisi, Juz’ 84, Safha 199]

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, that Allah (AJ) said: “I was a hidden Treasure then I desired to be known, so I created a creation to which I made Myself known; then they knew Me.” [Holy Hadith – Bihar al Anwar, by Al ‘Alama al Majlisi, Volume 84, Page 199]

Reward for the Seekers of Love

The pursuit and the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is the love of Allah (AJ). That is the reward for the seeker that when they come to what Allah (AJ) loves what they find within that love is the oceans of love and generosity from Divinely Presence. An ocean of power, ocean of might, an ocean of immense rahmah and mercy. So alhamdulillah that Allah (AJ) grants for us this love. So means then for people on the path, you expect nothing and be happy with everything. Whatever people have of expectations especially when we build ourselves up to these nights and Laylatul Qadr. All the internet is talking about Laylatul Qadr, and these are systems in which to build up, make people to anticipate and expect something. When their expectation falls short they become discouraged.

Be Patient on Your Path and Don’t Expect Anything

The tariqah and many times have talked, “Tawasaw bil haqqi wa tawasaw bis Sabr.”

(٣)إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ

103:3 – “Illal ladheena aamano wa ‘amilos saalihaati, wa tawasaw bil haqqi wa tawasaw bis Sabr. (3)” (Surat Al-‘Asr)

“Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience. (3)” (The Declining Day, 103:1-3)

In this ayatul kareem (generous verse of Holy Qur’an) Allah (AJ), ‘This path of ours, its way is in patience.’ This way of truth, “Tawasaw bil haqqi wa tawasaw bis Sabr,” (Holy Qur’an, 103:3).This path of truth and Divine truth it’s paved with bricks of patience that make the character of the servant a beatific light, a beatific reality. They’re taught within the tariqahs that expect nothing and be happy with everything. The mental expectation is of no importance and that mental expectation in a way towards realities may be way off. Because what the mind is trying to understand, they’re trying to understand from from internet, from different channels. They [awliyaullah (saints)] teach that don’t let your mind to expect anything. Cut all expectations and be happy with everything. Then tariqah comes towards these realities teaching – it is not what you pray for, what you want. But to want what you have.

Gratitude for the Present Blessings

The people are very busy all of Ramadan and holy nights continuously praying for what they want and that again is an expectation. They are expecting something from Allah (AJ) which is okay for common people but then Allah (AJ) teaching, ‘But what you have you have to be thankful for.’ If you’re too busy praying for what you want, focusing on what you want, maybe you didn’t realize what Allah (AJ) has already given. We didn’t show thankfulness for that. Within that there must be an immense blessings, there must be immense realities.

Laylatul Qadr and Divine Love

So always a reminder for myself on the holy month of Ramadan people have very high expectations of what they’re going to achieve and most are unrealistic. Then we hear about holy nights and they’re hoping that lightnings will come and zap them and transform them like a anime or cartoon. But in its reality Allah (AJ) already gave us Laylatul Qadr. Allah (AJ) gave us all these immense blessings. If we don’t put a value in it – that’s our fault.

The Greatest Gift of Love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ

It means that what Allah (AJ) has given to us, is this love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Out of billions of Muslims how many of them have that love? The immense love where they find and they know that their soul should be levitating or moving towards the heart and soul of Prophet ﷺ. These haqqaiqs (realities) that Allah (AJ) gives, these are knowledges that set your soul into motion. So means those whom are not of that reality, they’re hoping from that reality a light will come to them, an event will come to them, an opening will come to them. Because that’s one time in the year.

Every Association of Lovers is Laylatul Qadr

Those whom Allah (AJ) granted an immense reality to enter into the circles of ‘ashiqeen (lovers) in which they emanate from that heart. All the light is continuously flowing from the Muhammadan heart into the associations. All of the knowledges are flowing into the hearts and souls from that association. So it means that every association is Laylatul Qadr. Layl (night) is a state in which you train to be off. We taught, remember the binary code? If you learn the system of off because energy is either ‘On’ or ‘Off.’ If you learn to put your energy down, then Allah (AJ) give you qadr (power). So 1 and 0. Layl is a state in which to be 0. Qadr is most definitely the 1.

Qaf: The Ocean of Power

Qaf, “Qaf wal Qur’anil Majid.”

﴾ق ۚ وَالْقُرْ‌آنِ الْمَجِيدِ ﴿١

50:1 – “Qaf, wal Quranil Majeed.” (Surat Qaf)

“Qaf. By the honored Qur’an.” (The Letter Qaf, 50:1)

This quwwah (power) and Qadir (The Powerful) it is from this ocean of qaf. This ocean of qaf is emanating in the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ eternally. When Allah (AJ) spoke, when Allah (AJ) stops speaking – beyond understanding.

But when Allah (AJ) speaks it is through a soul called Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ and that’s all we know. Allah (AJ) doesn’t speak through anything else. He created the soul called Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. When Allah (AJ) wants to speak… “Kullun amrun wal irada.”

(٨٢ ) إِنَّمَا أَمْرُ‌هُ إِذَا أَرَ‌ادَ شَيْئًا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ

36:82 – “Innama AmruHu idha Arada shay an, an yaqoola lahu kun faya koon.” (Surat YaSeen)

“His command is only when He intends a thing that, He says to it, “Be,” and it is.” (Yasin 36:82)

Surat Al-YaSeen which is the tafsir (interpretation) of this Divinely heart and Allah (AJ) describes that, ‘Every command of Mine and all My Will is within this reality.’ When the soul came into existence beyond our understanding. Imagine how ancient that must be.

The Secret of Qul and Ba: Qalb (Heart)

That, that soul came into existence for Allah’s (AJ) Divinely speech to emanate from. That’s the source of qudra and quwwah and all power. From that power everything is coming into existence. That becomes the ‘Qul’ to the ‘Ba’ – the ‘Qalb.’ That Allah’s (AJ) qaf, ancient, ancient power. He created a tongue – a lisan to be known by. We will never know Him, ‘I was a hidden treasure wanting to be known that I will never be known. Only My signs will be known to creation.’ Ayatul akbar – the greatest sign of Allah (AJ) is this Muhammadan haqqaiq, wa Haqiqatul Muhammadiyah (the Muhammadan Reality).

When that Qul hits to that ba which is the alif in sujood (prostration) – in complete effacement. When the alif completely goes down, it becomes a ba and under that alif is a nuqt (dot) in which to hold its reality. That qalb, it is qudra is moving to that ba and becomes the unfolding of all realities. Fom that “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem,” Surat Al-Fatiha, from Surat Al-Fatiha all of Qur’an al-Majeed (the Glorious Qur’an).

Immense Blessing of Sitting in Heavenly Associations

So then imagine when Allah (AJ) gives you a life destined to sit in their association! You have now entered into the association of qadr, of immense oceans of power. That they teach by this love and muhabbat and this ‘ishq (love) of this reality. The souls are moving into that heart. That’s “Qul in kuntum tuhibbon Allaha fattabi’uni, wa yuhbibkumullah.”

(٣١) …قُلْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُحِبُّوْنَ اللَّـهَ فَاتَّبِعُوْنِيْ يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّـهُ

3:31 – “Qul in kuntum tuhibbon Allaha fattabi’oni, yuhbibkumUllahu…” (Surah Surat Al ‘Imran)

“Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you…” (Holy Quran 3:31)

Those whom embark with their souls on that journey into the Muhammadan heart,

- That same heart, that qalb that contains that ba.
- That ba that being dressed by Allah’s (AJ) ancient qaf and power.

Those souls whom Allah (AJ) are destined for them, ‘Enter into this heart. I’m not on heaven, I’m not on on earth but I’m in the qalb of this believer.’

عَنْ وَهَبِ بِنْ مُنَبِّهْ، قَال رَسُولَ اللَّه ﷺ، قَالْ اللَّه عَزَ وَجَلْ: ” مَا وَسِعَنِيْ لَا سَمَائِيْ وَلَا اَرْضِيْ، وَلَكِنْ وَسِعَنِيْ قَلْبِ عَبْدِيْ اَلْمُؤْمِنْ [حَدِيثْ اَلْقُدْسِي – اَلْغَزَالِي فِي اَلْإحْيَاء، وَ اِبنِ عَرَبِي فِي اَلْتَرَاجِمْ، صفحه ٢٢٤]

‘An Wahab ibn Munabbeh, Qala Rasulallahi ﷺ, Qala Allah (AJ): “Maa wasi’anee laa samayee, wa la ardee, laakin wasi’anee qalbi ‘Abdi al Mu’min.” [Hadith al Qudsi, Al Ghazali fi al Ihyaa, wa Ibn ‘Arabi fi al Tarajim, Safha 224]

Narrated by Wahab the son of Munabbeh that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said that Allah (AJ) said: “Neither My Heavens nor My Earth can contain Me, but the heart of my Believing Servant.” [Holy Hadith, by Imam al-Ghazali in Al Ihya, and by Ibn ‘Arabi in al Tarajib, Page 224]

The Secret of “Anzalna Hu” and the Hu of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ

That you’re entering into Allah’s (AJ) oceans of power. “Anzalna Hu, Anzalna Hu – We revealed Qur’an.” The Hu equals Qur’an and “Anzalna Hu,” the Hu is the Hu of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Because the Qur’an is inside the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Allah’s (AJ) uncreated speech emanating from the soul of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. So “Anzalna Hu fee Laylatul Qadr.”

(١)إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ

97:1 – “Inna anzalnaahu fee laylatil-qadr.” (Surat Al-Qadr)

“We have brought it down on the night of power.” (The Power, 97:1)

Binary Code of Laylatul Qadr

So means then Laylatul Qadr is the binary code. Layl in our lives is that we took a path in which to learn how to – in this binary code – be nothing. Efface yourself, be nothing, be nothing! In this way of reality that when all the world wants to make us to be something we know by the Might and Majesty of Allah (AJ), the Might and Majesty in which dressed upon Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, we are obviously nothing. So then this life of ours keeps pushing us to be nothing, efface yourself.

Path to Divine Power and Role of Tafakkur (Contemplation)

When the servant truly understands effacement with their tafakkur, their contemplation, why making tafakkur? Because you’re trying to connect with the shaykh and listen to guidance and nobody wants to listen to guidance. Everybody want to make up their own understanding, stand up and begin to make the wrong understanding. Because of their nafs (ego) and the sickness of their nafs. The way is based on ‘I’m nothing, I’m nothing, I’m nothing.’ When they truly enter into layl, where Allah (AJ) say, ‘We made the day busy for your dunya (material world) and your work but the night is a time in which to learn to be nothing.’

Reality of Effacement and Secret of Laylatul Qadr

So layl is the symbol of effacement. So in this binary code if you reach the layl you reach to being the nuqt. Then the next word is qadr. If you really become layl, Allah’s (AJ) gift to you is qadr – is power, power oceans. Divinely breath that Allah (AJ) breathes within the soul. These energies and emanations from the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ that dressing the souls of ‘ashiqeen.

Power of ‘Ishq and the Gift of Qadr

You will be with whom you love and who you love will be with you. That one whom you love is the power oceans of Allah (AJ).

عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: … فَقَالَ (رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ) : ” أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ.” [اَلْمَصْدَرْ: مُسْلِمْ:. ٧٥٢٠]

‘An Anasin (ra): … Faqala (Rasulullahi) ﷺ: “Anta ma’a man ahbabta.”

Narrated Anas ibn Malik (ra) that …the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “You will be with whom you love.” [Source: Muslim 7520]

If that love enters your heart from the ‘ishq of Sayyidina Muhammad’s ﷺ Divinely light and presence imagine with what power that love, that soul, that drop of that light is entering into the soul! So means it is an infinite ocean of power being dressed upon the students of these associations, these majlises. Where they are sitting, where they’re watching, wherever they are and that every association is dressing the servant from that qadr. If they’re writing it and the knowledges are being written is dressed upon their kitab (book) and it is for all of eternity. Your service – khidmat and everything that you do in that way is for all of eternity. Its reality that can’t be understood because the dunya and how people visualize the dunya.

A Gift Veiled by Dunya: Qadr and the Inverted Path

If you were to make a graph maybe our graphic people can show, we said this world is inversed. In dunya the graph shows the people of dunya how high they are. How much money they make, how much status and corporations and how they buy and sell in billions and trillions – ridiculous numbers. Then this shows all the way the people of akhirah (hereafter) has like nothing. They struggle for five dollar donations. You see the curve is like this and it goes like this for dunya [Shaykh traces a downward sloping curve]. Allah (AJ) made that symbol so that to see who is looking with their physical eye. Because from physical eye, ‘Oh look these ones are up here and these people are down here.’ [shaykh shows two points, up and down].

Inverted Reality Between Dunya and Akhirah

But unfortunately and fortunately for us dunya is actually the opposite. In akhirah that graph changes because this is a reflection. The people of akhirah they are the kings of all of paradise for eternity and the people of dunya are in pits that are so low they are not something to be mentioned. See how the graphic changed! Dunya, they show them huge, billion, trillion, the numbers are so silly now. You watch television, ‘He is buying this for 40 billion dollars, 20 trillion dollars.’ It is like a joke and everybody else is trying to get their zakah. Allah (AJ) reminding that this is going to inverse one day but the people they don’t have eyes to see and heart to understand. They’re more interested in investing in that one [worldly person]. But those whom they sit in the association of that one, well, the day when Allah (AJ) flips and akhirah opens what happens? They [worldly person] become like this [Shaykh inverses the curve].

Eternal Kings of Paradise

If you were in the association of heavenly people, you’re among the kings of paradise. That they’re owners of reality that own all of eternity. Allah (AJ) dressing all of eternity. If you bet it on being with the people of dunya and sold yourself for a small price, the kingdom of paradise and the kings and sultanate (kingdom) of paradises for all of eternities its status it can’t even be registered. The graph is not even like this but the graph is something that the bottom ones are so low they’re not even something to be seen. Allah (AJ) describes throughout Holy Quran that, they’ll wish and they saw what are those stations not with their trillions and billions can they buy anything from that. But that they were deceived by dunya and they didn’t have the perception of that which was eternal.

So then this graph flips. The people on the bottom and say, ‘Oh they’re nobody. Why we have to sit with them.’ No, unfortunately in heavens they are everything and the owners of paradises and heavens. They own everything that Allah (AJ) has given and subjected everything. “Wa malakut kulli shay, wa malakut kulli shay.” Surat Al-YaSeen Allah (AJ), ‘We have given all of malakut (heavenly realm) into their hands.’ “Subhanal ladhee biyadihi Mulk,” what the one from Surat Al-Yaseen? The last surah (chapter), you guys don’t know? How you’re reading Qur’an? [Shaykhs asks audience].

Audience: “Subhanal ladhee biyadihi Malakotu kulli shay in wa ilayhi turja’oon.”

(٨٣) فَسُبْحَانَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

36:83 – “Fasubhanal ladhee biyadihi Malakotu kulli shay in wa ilayhi turja’oon.” (Surat YaSeen)

“Therefore Glory be to Him in Whose hand is the dominion/ kingdom over everything in heavens, and to Him you will be returned.” (YaSeen, 36:83)

Divine Ownership of Malakut

Alhamdulillah, my backup support people. “Subhan” – Allah’s (AJ) glory onto hand that Allah (AJ) gave all “malakut, kulli shay.” “Kulli shay” means that, ‘Everything is in their hands and they are the owners of My malakut. In the world of light they are My owners and they own it for all of eternity.’ But in this world you saw them as nothing. But because this dunya is inversed where Mawlana Shaykh (Q) would always say, ‘I’m upside down in this world.’ Why? Because he is a king here [malakut] and on earth you people see him from the earth as nothing. That, ‘Oh who are these people. There is nothing. I want to be with those people that every day are on the news.’ This is the great gift Allah (AJ) has given.

A Gift Already Given: The Secret of Qadr and the Path to Eternal Elevation

All of this is in relation to Allah (AJ) establishing, ‘I have given you qadr. I have given you Laylatul Qadr. I gave you a path in which to be nothing and this qadr would dress.’ Had you not known these associations, you would have never reached to this qadr. Had you had not come across these teachings, these videos, this tariqah, this way then Allah (AJ) would not have dressed you.

So the greatest gift and the greatest blessing Allah (AJ) has given, when people are waiting for something to happen, praying for something to happen. When their prayers are not answered they actually become angered. Emails come, ‘Oh I gave 50 dollars and the heavens didn’t open and nothing opened and what is this.’ Say, ‘You’re so busy trying to get something from Allah (AJ) but you don’t even understand what he already gave.’ He gave a seat and a way to the highest levels of paradises for all of eternity. But you want to exchange it for the filthiness of dunya. So means you look at it with the eyes of dunya and you don’t see it as anything.

Seeing With the Soul, Not with Worldly Eyes

When they were looking for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ they came to a cave and they didn’t see anything. How you don’t see anything when you look into a small tiny cave, the cave is very small. Allah (AJ) took from them their vision and that’s the reality of this dunya. Our life is to meditate, contemplate, be thankful. “Alhamdulillah wa shukranlillah” and contemplate this understanding.

Allah (AJ) has given us infinite Laylatul Qadrs, infinite dressings and realities. We just have to be thankful of it to understand, ‘What is this that Allah (AJ) has given to me? How to take it, cherish it, nourish it and bring its realities out? So that when the kingdom of Allah (AJ) opens for me – whether I see it in qiyamah (resurrection) or I see it on my death – that I’m seated at that place that Allah (AJ) has reserved for me,’ inshaAllah. We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us with this infinite rahmah and mercy and this infinite love and ‘ishq. To know the value of that ‘ishq and that love and the gift that Allah (AJ) has given to us. May Allah (AJ) always expand it and never take it from us. Allah’s (AJ) oceans of generosity to always increase and never decrease these blessings from us.

Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
