Important Secret Prophet Adam (as) Learned on His Tour of Paradise
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Be the Flower That Gives Its Fragrance Even to the Hand That Crushes It
Alhamdulillah, the passing of the holy month of Dhul Hajj and the pilgrimage of 12 months of testing in which Allah (AJ) granted us the immense blessings of the first 10 days to complete our pilgrimage for the year and remember ourselves as a life filled with testing. It’s always good to remember that the testing in life is to make us sweeter and not more sour. Years of being tested can make the character also hardened from too much testing, too much backbiting, too much attacking, too much bombarding from every direction in which the character can become hardened.
The reflection upon oneself, to always remember that this is a path in which to be soft and subtle; to keep the sweetness and the fragrance of the rose while at the same time, its fragrance doesn’t come except by crushing. Even to the hand that crushes it to remain within its fragrance and its beatific nature.
Qala Imam ‘Aliyun (as): “Kun kazzahratil lati tu’ti ‘itruha hatta lilyadi allati tasahhaquha.”
Imam ‘Ali (as) said: “Be the flower that gives its fragrance even to the hand that crushes it.”
Don’t Become Hardened By Your Testings, But Take Time to Reflect
Life, by itself, is always a challenge. The greatest challenge is with all the squeezing and testings and all the difficulties. That everybody endures in life is to remain with that fragrance, the Divinely fragrance of good characters, good manners and fragrant tongue. To have the sweetness of character that reflects upon the tongue in which the beatific realities emanate and the beatific realities that are being focused on in the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
So, it’s always a good reminder that when the hajj (pilgrimage) is finishing and all of the testings, that the path not to make a person to become hardened. Although the tests can endure for years all the way to the time of the grave, but it’s always a time to reflect upon one’s character. That to remain sweet and kind and in the nature in which Prophet ﷺ to be pleased with and to avoid arrogance and pride and all of the bad characteristics that would be displeasing to Prophet ﷺ.
Our End Goal is Not Knowledges, But to Reach the Presence of Prophet ﷺ
In this way of ma’rifah (gnosticism) and in these ways of realities, to avoid a sense of arrogance because of the realities that these are a gift from Prophet ﷺ for the advancement of those whom can benefit. If they find a benefit, then alhamdulillah. The role that we all play in propagating these realities is merely a gift, a ni’mat (blessing), from Allah (AJ). To propagate the beatific realities and haqqaiqs of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and if anything incorrect, it’s from the bad character and bad nafs (ego).
All that’s right and beatific, it’s from Allah’s (AJ) ni’mat and from the immense realities of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us from these blessings and give us always the reminder to keep one’s character good and fragrant and beatific as the end goal is to be in the presence of Prophet ﷺ. The end goal is not the knowledges, but it’s the presence of Prophet ﷺ. By virtue of that presence, its by-product, its energies, its realities are the ‘uloom and the knowledges. We pray that Allah (AJ) all inspire all of us towards always keeping the goodness of character in an ever-darkening world.
Establish Good Character to Fight the Darkness of Dunya and Seek Prophet’s ﷺ Rida
The zulumat and oppression and darkness that begins to cover the Earth, its nature is to darken the spirit, darken the tongue and to take away the goodness in which Allah (AJ) is looking for. Through the barakah (blessing) of Prophet ﷺ, the nazar (gaze) of awliyaullah (saints), they come to remind us that everything is about the character. That to seek Prophet’s ﷺ nearness, rida (satisfaction) and acceptance then relies upon the good character and not to let the darkness of this Earth to change the character.
That becomes the purpose of the struggle and constant need for tafakkur and contemplation, to continuously have a life in which we sit and contemplate and to bring out the realities that we’re trying to achieve and to understand the tricks that shaitan is trying to put upon us all.
Step With Your Right Foot Into Muharram on Your 12 Month Journey
So, alhamdulillah, that as this holy month of pilgrimage is ending, that Allah (AJ) grant us by July 6th or 8th whenever the month is coming in and wherever you are, the holy month of Muharram in which is the opening of this reality. The first month in the Islamic calendar, the month of hijrah (migration) and the month of this immense reality for awliyaullah. That this way of Shamsul ‘Arifeen (Sun of Knowers) and the reality of the sun, the stars and the way of light to reach towards the presence and the reality of Prophet’s ﷺ eternal light and eternal guidance.
That Muharram is that to step in the holy month as the month is coming in, step with our right foot, asking that Allah (AJ) grant us that this year be a year in which to enter into this pilgrimage of this Divinely reality. When we shower and wash and prepare for the month and then asking that Allah (AJ) grant us this 12 months of good character to reach again to the holy month of hajj and the holy month of the Kawthar (The Fountain of Abundance).
Every Nation Reached Salvation on Ashura, the 10th of Muharram
Muharram is the month of many immense realities. The goodness of character and that Asha Nura is the month in which Allah (AJ) is granting salvation. So, we go into the Muharram realities and the reality that every nation reached their salvation through the 10th of Muharram and Ashura. That every nation was saved with the immensities of the lights of Muharram and the lights of Ashura which are on the 10th of Muharram.
We pray that Allah (AJ) grant us to enter into Muharram, grant us the immense blessings of Muharram and to grant us the salvation. That at every level of our heart and for those whom are studying the levels of the heart, that we follow the eternal structure of all of the prophets.
All Prophets Came With an Eternal Message for Their Nations
That what Sayyidina Adam (as) wants as a salvation from us, what Sayyidina Nuh (as) wants as a salvation for us, what Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) and Sayyidina Musa (as) want as salvation for us, what Sayyidina Isa (as) wants as salvation for us, what Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ wants as a salvation for his nation. It means that the prophets (as) have a timed message for their people and have an eternal message for all of creation.
That each Asha Nura, each Ashura has a salvation for the nations of those prophets (as). So, when Sayyidina Adam (as) is going to be granted a salvation; not only on Ashura was he granted salvation and the acceptance of his repentance at that time, but for all of Adam (as) and Bani Adam (as) (children of Adam) as we are under the nation of Sayyidina Adam (as), the Prophet Adam and Eve ‘alayhim salaam. It means that we too have to reach towards these Ashuras. That we have to reach to where Allah (AJ) grants as He granted Sayyidina Adam (as) to grant us our repentance.
Sayyidina Adam (as) was Granted Forgiveness When He mentioned Prophet’s ﷺ Family
That, ‘Ya Rabbi, we have fallen upon this Earth and have fallen into every type of delusion and bad character. As You saved our grandfather, Sayyidina Adam (as), grant us Your maghfirah and Your forgiveness. Grant us a salvation and acceptance of our repentance’. Then all the du’as (supplications) that come at that time that we’ve taught in relationship to Sayyidina Adam (as), “Ya Hamid bi haqqi Muhammad ﷺ”.
It carries forth that Sayyidina Adam (as), from the knowledge of awliyaullah, before he recited Holy Qur’an, there were certain words in which he repeated in which Allah (AJ) then triggered that, ‘Had you asked Me anything by using these names, I would have accepted your du’a’. That was the key to awliya’s knowledges, that as soon as he asked, “Ya Hamid bi Haqqi Muhammad ﷺ, Ya ‘Aliyu bi Haqqi Ali (as), Ya Khaliq bi Haqqi Fatima (as), Ya Rahman bi haqqul Imam al-Hassan (as), Ya Raheem bi haqqul Imam al-Hussain (as)”.
”Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem. Ya Hamidu bi Haqqi Muhammad ﷺ, Ya ‘Aliyu be Haqqi ‘Ali (as), Ya Khaliqu bi Haqqi Fatimatuz Zahra (as), Ya Rahmanu bi Haqqi Hassan (as), Ya Raheemu bi Haqqi Hussain (as).”
“In the name of Allah, the Most compassionate, the Most Merciful. O the Praiseworthy for the sake of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), O the Most High for the sake of Imam ‘Ali (as), O the Creator for the sake of Fatima Zahra (as), O the Most Compassionate for the sake of Imam Hassan (as), O the Most Merciful for the sake of Imam Hussain (as).”
Allah (AJ) Granted Sayyidina Adam’s (as) Du’a (Holy Qur’an, 2:37)
That by asking in the reality of these names and Allah (AJ) asking that, ‘Had you asked anything by these names, I will grant your du’a’. Then recited the du’a (supplication) in which he recited in the verses of Qur’an, in which Allah (AJ) accepted his repentance.
2:37 – “ Fatalaqqaa Adamo mir Rabbihi Kalimaatin fataaba ‘alayhi; innahu Huwat Tawwaabur Raheem” (Surat Al Baqarah)
“Then Adam received from his Lord [some] words, and He turned towards him (accepted his repentance). Indeed, it is He who Accepts repentance, the most Merciful.” (The Cow 2:37)
Sayyidina Adam’s (as) Repentance was Accepted on His Tour of Paradise
It means there is a key even to the du’as (supplications) that we recite. This was then the teaching from the Kawthar, “Inna ataynaka al-Kawthar, fasalli la rabbika wanhar.” It means ‘Ask in the name of your Lord and sacrifice’.
108:1 – “Inna ‘atayna kal kawthar. (1) Fasali li rabbika wanhar. (2)” (Surat Al-Kawthar)
“To thee (O Muhammad) we have granted the Fount (of Abundance). (1) So pray to your Lord and Sacrifice. (2)” (The Abundance, 108:1)
So, the du’a has its reality then asking in the name of your authority. Then making the du’a has a completely different reality because he recited the verse from Qur’an that Allah (AJ) gives an attribute to Sayyidina Adam (as) reciting this verse and asking for forgiveness. But that wasn’t the key to opening that du’a’s acceptance. The key to opening that du’a’s acceptance from ayatul kareem (the generous verse of Holy Qur’an) was then what?
Awliyaullah are teaching that when he went on a tour of paradise and saw the realities of paradise in which he saw the lights of these realities and the angel Jibreel (as) taught Sayyidina Adam (as): these are these different realities. At that time, he remembered that and by the name of those, he asked Allah (AJ). Then Allah (AJ) gave permission that, ‘Now recite the verse that you’re going to recite for repentance,’ and that repentance was accepted.
The Sultanate of Prophet ﷺ is the Key for Everything
It means there’s a key for everything. “Ya Hamid bi Haqqi Muhammad ﷺ” because this has to do with the sultanate (kingdom) of Prophet ﷺ and Liwal al Hamd (Flag of Praise), the one whom all praise is based on the reality of the most praised one. The one whom Allah (AJ) created to praise the Divinely Presence. Sayyidina Adam (as) is mentioning now the king. “Ya Hamid bi Haqqi Muhammad ﷺ.” As a result of these realities, the du’as (supplications) were accepted.
Now come to Bani Adam (as) in which they make du’a, but they feel sometimes maybe du’as not being accepted and their repentance on this Earth has not been accepted. Had Allah (AJ) accepted the repentance, Allah (AJ) would have guided the servant. So, the servant is maybe repenting and nothing is changing; not their desire changes, not the character changes, not even the ‘amal (action) that given and written for them changes.
We Came With a Mission From Heaven, But Became Heedless Upon This Earth
So, it’s not just you ask and it happens. This is an egoistic understanding. ‘I merely ask and of course, it should happen.’ But that’s a high level faith and that’s after achieving sincerity. So, there is a point in which a Muharram comes for the servants of realities and haqqaiqs. That the shaykh is teaching them: then your Muharram has to be through the acceptance of Sayyidina Adam’s (as) du’a (supplication). That, did Allah (AJ) grant you your forgiveness for being on this Earth and coming and becoming heedless?
So, before we ask for the huge and the biggest openings of Muharram, there’s a cycle in our lives. There must be a Muharram. The first of the Muharram that Allah (AJ) opens for us has to be in relationship to our coming upon this Earth. That being from the seeds of Adam and Eve and that Allah (AJ) accepted, we came with a mission from heaven, became heedless upon this Earth and just went about doing whatever we wanted to do.
That’s why then they teach then this is the significance of the du’a of Sayyidina Adam (as) in relationship to what he saw in paradise from the realities of light. Seated upon these thrones of light, what Sayyidina Jibreel (as) taught Sayyidina Adam (as)? This is in the ‘Lore of Lights’ from Hajjah Amina (Q). That brought out the realities of light, the Muhammadan light and from sources of Tabari and compiled them together in the ‘Lore of Light.’ I think it’s book 4 of the Muhammadan haqqaiqs for the tariqah (spiritual path) people who wish to come against us.
When Allah (AJ) Forgives, Divine Realities Open
This is from Hajjah Amina’s book (Q) of the Muhammadan haqqaiqs and Muhammadan lights. What was the du’a (supplication) that Adam was taught, ‘alayhis salaam, from Sayyidina Jibreel ﷺ? This is important in the Muharram that Allah (AJ) accept us for this Asha Nura. That, ‘Accept our repentance, ya Rabbi, for the sake of these blessed souls. Accept my du’a that I’m asking to forgive me. Forgive my bad characters.’
When Allah (AJ) accepts the forgiveness and tawbah (repentance) of the servant, then they can embark upon a path of realities and forgiveness. After they’re forgiven in one of the Muharrams, what then they come to Sayyidina Nuh (as). That’s why then you would read the book ‘Levels of The Heart’.
Sayyidina Nuh (as) Showed Firmness in His Journey of Faith
What’s the message from all of the prophets (as) because we teach a curriculum? Although they may seem random, the teachings, but absolutely not random. So, the levels of the heart then teach us the next prophet (as) on the lataif (subtle energy points) of the qalb (heart) is who? Sayyidina Nuh (as) and Sayyidina Nuh (as) has to do with your journey of faith. You’re given co-ordinance to build a ship on a mountain, preparing for rain. Everybody comes to break your ship. That ship, that fulk, is your soul. If done right, fulkil mashhoon – it becomes loaded, loaded with energies, loaded with souls that Allah (AJ) will direct upon your ship to be carried by your reality.
36:41 – “Wa ayatul lahum anna hamalna dhurriyyatahum fil fulkil mashhooni.” (Surat YaSeen)
“And a sign for them is that we have carried their atoms/forefathers in the loaded ship.” (YaSeen, 36:41)
But that soul and building one soul is building faith. So, our life is then to have co-ordinance, believe in those co-ordinance, istiqam – have a firmness in your co-ordinance and know that every rope is going to be thrown at you because you don’t come to something and everybody and all your neighbours and all your friends say, ‘Oh, this amazing, mashaAllah. So, it’s amazing that you’re like this. Oh, this is amazing path. This is amazing teacher. These amazing realities’.
Sayyidina Nuh (as) was Tested Harshly With His Nation
So, they didn’t do that for the prophets (as) and they’re not going to do that for me and you. So, what did they do to Sayyidina Nuh (as)? They attempted to kill him, attack him, destroy him, destroy his ship and every type of vileness they put against Sayyidina Nuh (as). So much so, that he made a du’a that they all be taken away. Allah (AJ) flooded the Earth and He completely drowned and destroyed the entire nation and all nations that were upon that Earth. So, that was severe for a prophet (as) to be tested so hard in which he completely asked Allah (AJ), ‘Destroy them all.’
71:26 – “Wa qaala Noohur Rabbi laa tazar ‘alal ardi minal kaafireena daiyaaraa” (Surah Nuh)
“And Noah said, ‘My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant.'” (Noah, 71:26)
But the reality of being tested for humans and people like ourselves is that the test build our soul and build our faith. That Allah (AJ) grant us on an Ashura that, ‘I’m accepting your struggle. I’m accepting that your struggle is correct towards this reality and love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’ That’s why we described the weekend before protocol. Some kids may say, ‘Why do we have to do that? Why we don’t just follow that guy who talks about simple mazhab (school of thought) and I’ll do the right and wrongs of the hadith and that’s it? I don’t need all of these other realities that are maybe too much for me.’
Your Actions Don’t Have Value Without Your Good Character
Well, because you may learn that and have bad manners and then everything you built on bad manners is like a house on a cliff in which Allah (AJ) just pushes the house and it falls off the cliff. It’s not about just you prayed and just you fast and you learned some knowledges and insulted people at the park because your knowledge was more higher than other people. All those actions actually have to be based off of good character, but those same people they never teach good character.
So, then it becomes necessary that I have to go towards the tariqahs because the tariqahs teach the good character. Then teach when I pray and have good character, everything, inshaAllah, is accepted. When I fast and have good character, everything, inshaAllah, is accepted. Everything built or anything built on good character should find acceptance in Divinely Presence.
The Way of Paradise and Heavens is to Have Good Character, Like Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
“Addabani Rabbi fa ahsana fi ta’dib”. The Prophet ﷺ gives to us that, ‘I have been sent to teach good character.’ Not to make hafiz and not to make people who memorize the hundreds of thousands of Hadiths that, alhamdulillah, if they can do that. But that ‘I’ve come to perfect good character’ because this is the way of paradise and heavens.
Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ: “Addabani Rabbi fa ahsana ta’dibi.”
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “My Lord taught me good manners and He taught me in the most excellent way”
Now we live in a world in which they honour the liars. They glorify liars. They can come and speak for hours and lie, make up stories, any story they want they can make up. There’s no facts behind, no reality behind because that is a dajjal (man of deceit) symbol. Dajjal means deceit. So, the people of dajjal, they’re deceptive and deceitful, filled with lies. The way of heavens is filled with truth, good character and good manners.
Accept Your Struggles and Present What You’re Doing to Prophet ﷺ
So, then Sayyidina Nuh (as) comes into our life for Asha Nura. That, inshaAllah, Allah (AJ) accept your way of faith. Accept your struggle and that you’re struggling correctly towards the ways of reality and towards the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That’s why we described the protocol. What are you struggling for? If you think everything that you’re doing will be presented to Prophet ﷺ and that you’re comfortable with what you’re doing, you’re happy with what you’re doing, you’re happy with how you’re doing it, then you should have a successful struggle.
But if you feel, no, nothing has to be presented to anyone. I’m dealing directly with Allah (AJ) – most likely that struggle will not be accepted because that sounds similar to the belief of shaitan in which he accepted no one, nothing from Bani Adam (as) at all. So, then that becomes an important Ashura in which Allah (AJ) accepts our faith and goes towards Sayyidina Musa (as), Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) to Sayyidina Isa (as) and then to the intercession of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
