أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ٱلْرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ. Madad ya Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem, Ya Habibul ‘Azeem, unzur halana wa ishfa’lana, ‘abidona bi madadikum wa nazarekum.

Atiullah wa atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum. Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.

أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُم… ﴿٥٩﴾‏ …

4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)

“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)

Realities of Holy Month of Muharram and Adab (Manner) of Welcoming It

Muharram Al-Haram is one of the 4 sacred months which has immense blessings. In which every day has its own special tajjali (manifestation). Especially Yawmul Ashura (The Day of Ashura). The awliya (saints) are granted their wilayah (sainthood) in this month. Opening their 6 realities and granted Maqam Ash Shahood – the Station of Witnessing which is the head of the hijrah (migration). By beginning with the practice of every mu’min (believer) when the moon of Muharram arises. One must take a full shower and pray 2 rak’ah (cycles of prayer) sunnah (tradition of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ), Ghusl (shower) for welcoming the new hijri year and the holy month of Muharram Al-Haram. Then one reads the du’a (supplication) of bidding farewell to the previous year three times.

Farewell Du’a for the Previous Year

InshaAllah let’s recite the du’a of farewell for this year. That Allah (AJ) (AJ) forgive us, forgive our sins, all our wrongdoings. If you can read the English of the du’a. It is I think on the next page. [Shaykh asks audience to read English translation of the du’a].

Reciter: “Salawats (praises upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) upon the holy Prophet ﷺ and his family. O’ Allah (AJ) in this past year I have done forbidden acts but I have yet to seek Your forgiveness. And You neither accept nor forget our evil deeds. You have held back the punishment due to me, You have commanded us to seek Your forgiveness for our sins. So I’m seeking Your forgiveness for all sins that I have committed in this past year, and I’m asking You to accept the good that has been done in that time. O’ Allah (AJ) O’ Generous One, Ya Zaljalaali wal Ikraam. Salaams (greetings) and salawats (praises) upon Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and his Companions (as).”

Ameen. InshaAllah we’ll recite the du’a three times of the farewell, inshaAllah.

Benefits of Reading Farewell Du’a

“Allahumma salli wa sallim wa barik ‘alayi wa ‘ala aalihi.” It is said that whoever recites this du’a, shaitan (satan) will pour dirt on his own head in the sadness. That the sins of the believer from the previous year, Allah (AJ), inshaAllah, will be forgiven. May Allah (AJ) forgive all our wrongdoings, all our errors. All that we did knowingly wrong and unknowingly wrong. May Allah (AJ) grant us from His immense oceans of rahmah and mercy. From the immense love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, his holy nazar (gaze) and the intercession of his holy Companions (as), his holy family and his awliyaullah fis samayi wa fil ard (in the heavens and on earth).

That Allah (AJ) dress us from these lights, bless us from these lights. Perfect our previous year and grant us the lights of perfection entering into this new year and this new Muharram. That Allah (AJ) complete His ni’mat (blessing) upon us, to keep us protected, to keep us healthy. To keep our rizq and sustenance and our way of Islam, Iman (faith), wa Maqamul Ihsan (Station of Moral Excellence). Allah’s (AJ) rida and satisfaction be upon us. The rida and satisfaction of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ be upon us and dress us and bless us inshaAllah.

Wa ila mashayikhina fit tariqatin Naqshbandiyatil ‘aaliyah. khasatan ruhi Imamit tariqati ghawthil khaliqati Shah Naqshband Muhammad al Uwaisil Bukhari (Q), Sultanul Awliya (King of saints) Shaykh Abdullah al Faayiz ad Daghestani (Q), Sultanul Awliya Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al Haqqani (Q), Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham al Qabbani (Q), Shaykh Adnan al Qabbani (Q), Shaykh Muhammad Adil (Q), wa Abdul Khaliq al Gujdawani (Q), Sahib Zaman Sayyidina Muhammad al Mahdi (as), RuhAllah Sayyidina Isa (as), Sayfullah Sayyidina Ali (as) thumma Sayyidina Abu Bakr as Siddiq (as), Sayyidina Umar (as), Sayyidina Uthman (as), Imam al Hassan (as), Imam al Hussain (as), Sayyidatina Fatimatul Zahra (as). Wa sayiri wa sadatina wa Siddiqin. Al Fatiha. Barakah shafa’at (intercession) ya Rasulul Kareem (The Most Generous Messenger), ya Habibul ‘Azim (The Beloved of the Magnificent).

InshaAllah we’ll open the app [Muhammadan Way app] and go to the section of the du’as, and this is the du’a of Sultanul Awliya – ‘Du’a al-Mathur.’ That by means of Sultanul Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah al Faiz ad Dagestani (Q), Sultanul Awliya Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al Haqqani (Q), and all the Sultanul Awliyas of the Naqshbandi Golden Chain. That their nazar be upon us, their dress be upon us. That they perfect this du’a with the best of intentions, highest of intentions, and to dress us from its realities inshaAllah. ‘Du’a al-Mathur’ inshaAllah if we can read from the app. Wa “A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem. Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem.”

Recitation of Ummul Du’a

Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha. Barakah shafa’at ya Rasulul Kareem, ya Habibul ‘Azim. InshaAllah on the app go to the picture that says, ‘Ummul Du’a’ inshaAllah.
