Remodel Your Grave With Your Good Character and Actions
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ. Madad ya Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem, Ya Habibul ‘Azeem, unzur halana wa ishfa’lana, ‘abidona bi madadikum wa nazarekum.
Atiullah wa atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum. Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُم… ﴿٥٩﴾ …
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Run to the Gates of Ramadan to Put Out Your Fire of Bad Character
InshaAllah, Allah (AJ) opening the last ten days of Ramadan, “Itqun minan naar,” freedom from the fire, the fire of jahannam (hellfire), the fire of bad character that we pray that Allah (AJ) dress us from immense rahmah and mercy.
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةْ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: “إِذَا دَخَلَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ فُتِّحَتْ أَبْوَابُ اَلْجَنَّةْ، وَغُلِّقَتْ أَبْوَابُ جَهَنَّمَ، وَسُلْسِلَتِ الشَّيَاطِيْنُ.” [صحيح البخاري ١٨٠٠ وصحيح مسلم ١٠٧٩]
‘An Abi Hurairah (ra) qala, qala Rasulullahi ﷺ, “Izaa dakhala shahru Ramadana futtehat abwabu al Jannah wa ghulleqat abwabu Jahannama, wa sulselatish Shayatin.” [Sahih al Bukhari 1800, & Sahih Muslim 1079]
Abi Hurairah (ra) reported the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained.” [Authentic by Sahih al Bukhari 1800, & Sahih Muslim 1079]
Accepting Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ Opens a Special Mercy Within Our Hearts
That fire is a cleansing to take away all the badness of what shaitan has put upon insan (mankind) and trying to stop us from our destinies and paradise realities that Allah (AJ) has written for His creation. The fasting of Ramadan is the immense gift that Allah (AJ) has given to creation and to the gift of the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
By virtue of accepting Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ, Allah (AJ) open a special rahmah (mercy) within their hearts. That rahmah allows them to run towards the gates of Ramadan and the rahmah that allows them to enter into the presence of Prophet ﷺ and that chains the bad desire and bad character that would block them from trying to fast the month of Ramadan. This is an immense mercy. Once we have a little drop of the understanding of Allah’s (AJ) rahmah and what gifts He’s given to the holy month of Ramadan.
Your Fasting Doesn’t Come From Your Cleverness
When we don’t know what the reality of Ramadan is, we think okay, not a big deal. But when awliyaullah (saints) come into our lives and begin to teach us all of the immense realities and the blessings, it’s not from our cleverness that we choose or not choose to fast the month of Ramadan. Or ‘Maybe I’ll do it. Maybe I’ll do a little bit of it. Maybe I’ll do it next week or next year.’
But this is an immense gift that Allah (AJ) gave. It has a direct link to the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and his love for his nation, our love for our Prophet ﷺ and his love for his nation and that nation. That love dresses them with a mercy that allows their shaitan and nafs (ego) to be held enough at least to enter into the gate of rahmah. That as soon as the servant wants to enter into Ramadan, the gates of paradise and the gates of fasting are opening.
We Have Been Taken to a Dimension of Mercy in Ramadan
It means these are portals of reality as if to think that as soon as Ramadan opens, we’ve been taken to a different dimension. It looks like the exact dimension that we’re in. It looks like the surroundings are the same, but literally we’re on a veil and a sheet separate from this creation. This veil that Allah (AJ) has moved us in is a veil of mercy.
That in our reality, this mercy comes and allows us the ability to fast, the health in which to fast, all of the immense barakahs (blessings) in which to fast. We look outside the veil and life seems to be going on and eating, drinking as if nothing’s happening and nothing has. Nothing special is transpiring. We know that not to be true. That this is an immense month of mercy. That when Allah (AJ) literally moves the servants into a dimension and that dimension is filled with a rahmah and a mercy, that allows them to receive the gifts that Allah (AJ) wants to give to His creation.
Al Muntaqim Avenges Us During this Holy Month
That this is not from our cleverness. This is not from our strength. This is not from anything that has to do with us, but from the mercy of God Almighty and the love for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That the servant has and allows them to draw near to that reality.
Then Allah (AJ) takes them deeper within that veil, into the veils of forgiveness and begins to erase their hard drive, erase all their actions, erase all that shaitan has put upon them in this eight months and in this last year, from the last year of Ramadan to this year.
Only Allah (AJ) Can Avenge His Servant
We said that the secret of Ramadan, sifat al-Ramadan is Al-Muntaqim and which is the Avenger of His creation. When Allah (AJ) takes the case of His servant, He begins to avenge His servant. The greatest avenging that Allah (AJ) provides is the cleaning of the hard drive. That as soon as we enter into this hijab, into this veil, into this dimension of maghfirah (forgiveness), Allah’s (AJ) Al–Muntaqim is again coming and crushing all that shaitan has put upon the soul of that individual, the physicality of that individual, hardships he has put upon that individual.
Only Allah (AJ) can avenge His servant. Again, this is the sign of the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That this is a love affair. That this is a love in which Allah (AJ) wants to show that, ‘I want to be known through a secret. I’m a hidden treasure wanting to be known, and I want to be known through this reality called Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.’
قَال رَسُولَ اللَّه ﷺ، قَالْ اللَّه عَزَ وَجَلْ: ” كُنْت كَنْزاً مخفيا فَأَحْبَبْت أَنْ أُعْرَفَ؛ فَخَلَقْت خَلْقاً فَعَرَّفْتهمْ بِي فَعَرَفُونِي.” [حَدِيثْ اَلْقُدْسِي – بِحَارْ اَلْأنْوَارْ، اَلْعَلَامَةْ اَلْمَجْلِسِيْ، جُزْء ٨٤، صَفْحَة ١٩٩]
Qala Rasulallahi ﷺ, Qala Allah (AJ): “Kuntu kanzan makhfiyya, fa ahbabtu an a’rafa, fa khalaqtu khalqan, fa ‘arraftahum bi fa ‘arafonee.” [Hadith al Qudsi – Behar al Anwar, Al ‘Alama al Majlisi, Juz’ 84, Safha 199]
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, that Allah (AJ) said: “I was a hidden Treasure then I desired to be known, so I created a creation to which I made Myself known; then they knew Me.” [Holy Hadith – Bihar al Anwar, by Al ‘Alama al Majlisi, Volume 84, Page 199]
We Have a Ticket Reserved in Jahannam Via Our Ego and Shaitan
As a result of wanting to be known, Allah (AJ) made that to be the greatest and most praised reality. Anyone who moves towards that reality earns the love of the Divine, the mercy and the rahmah of the Divine. This mercy of washing away and cleaning the hard drive, taking away and debugging all of the imperfections in our reality, this is an immense gift that Allah (AJ) is giving. Then we describe the “Itqun minan naar” (freedom from fire) is that we have a ticket reserved in jahannam, by Allah (AJ) and the virtue of our creation and attaching to us, a nafs, an ego which it lends itself to badness.
A nafs (ego) in which was brought out from jahannam and hell and that nafs placed upon this body, placed as a passenger within this body. This body of ours contains a soul, an ego and shaitan. This nafs and ego created from hell in jahannam, its familiarity is with the accursed one. Its familiarity is not with the paradises and not with the heavens. It has no familiarity with the heaven reality. It has seen nothing of the heaven reality. It only knows its companionship from jahannam. It means this is a horrible companionship that when the nafs and shaitan come together, this becomes the sharik. This becomes the partnership that comes against all that is Divine and all that is from the Divine which is the soul.
Itqun Minan Naar Cleanses All Our Actions and Nafs
This is a great gift of “Itqun minan naar” (freedom from hellfire) in which Allah (AJ) begins to unleash sifat al-Muntaqim in which the last 10 days becomes a fire against the nafs, fire against the shayateen (devils) and begin to cleanse the hard drive, cleanse all of the actions, cleanse everything that shaitan has put upon us, that we have put upon us, and our nafs (ego) has put upon us.
Then we understand the true reality of the first gate. That was a mercy. That when Allah (AJ) want to grant His servant mercy, He cleans them. “Inna fatahna laka Fatham Mubeenan. liyaghfira lakaallaahu maa taqaddama min dhanbika wa maa taakhkhara wa yutimma ni’matahu ‘alayka fi siraathan mustaqiman”.
﴾إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُّبِينًا ﴿١﴾ لِّيَغْفِرَ لَكَ اللَّـهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِن ذَنبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ وَيُتِمَّ نِعْمَتَهُ عَلَيْكَ وَيَهْدِيَكَ صِرَاطًا مُّسْتَقِيمًا ﴿٢
48:1-2 – “Innaa fatahna laka Fatham Mubeena. (1) liyaghfira lakaallaahu maa taqaddama min dhanbika wa maa taakhkhara wa yutimma ni’matahu ‘alayka wa yahdiyaka siraathan mustaqima. (2)” (Surat Al-Fath)
“Indeed, We granted you, [O Muhammad], a manifest Victory. (1) That Allah may forgive you your faults of the past and those to follow; and fulfil His favor upon you and guide you to a straight path. (2) (The Victory, 48:1-2)
Don’t Focus On If Your Prayers are Answered, But Focus on the Victory Bestowed Upon You (Holy Qur’an, 48:2)
That what the English we have for Surah Fath, Fath on 48. Hajji Junaid, read, I think, the first four, verses 1 through 4, of Surah 48. This is a description. “Inna fatahna laka Fatham Mubeenan” is the reality of Prophet ﷺ.
Audience: We have indeed for your sake…
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: Verse by verse, inshaAllah, we stop.
Audience: “We have indeed for your sake, oh dear Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, bestowed a clear victory, so that Allah (AJ) may forgive for your sake the sins of those before you and those after you and…”
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: Hold on. So, it means that “Fathan Mubeen” is Prophet ﷺ. That when Allah (AJ) want to grant a victory to His servant to win this game that we call life, that
Prophet ﷺ is that victory, is the prize. Some people and most people are praying for some sort of a prize. They want this money. They want this gift. They want, want, want, want, want and all the things that we think we want. The true prize has not been recognized of what Allah (AJ) really gave to us and that becomes the horrible sadness and shame.
All that we’re thinking we want from Allah (AJ), ‘Allah (AJ) is not answering my prayers,’ but they never thought “Inna fatahna laka Fatham Mubeena.” That, ‘We gave you and a victory that will last you all of eternity; not the dirtiness of 80 years of this dunya (material world), but I’m giving you a victory that will lead for all of eternity for your reality and your creation; it means that’s Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That I made you from his nation and inshaAllah, I made you from his ‘ashiqeen (lovers) and muhibbin – who love him ﷺ, wish to serve him ﷺ, and wish to be resurrected under his holy feet for all of eternity.’ Then Allah (AJ), as a gift of Fathan Mubeen, what’s the next line?
We Must Be Cleansed of Our Sins to Move Towards Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ (Holy Qur’an, 48:2)
Audience: “So that Allah (AJ) may forgive, for your sake, the sins of those before you and those after you.”
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: Sins, all of the sins that are coming, because why? If he’s making you to be with Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, how could you be sinful? This is again the immense mercy. When we say the mercy of Prophet ﷺ, people – it’s over their head. Then we see how Allah (AJ) will describe within Holy Qur’an. That for the sake of the victory of coming to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, all your sins coming forward will be cleaned. It doesn’t mean you won’t sin, but Allah (AJ) will clean them so that you are correct in the presence of Prophet ﷺ.
Otherwise, how is He going to be known through a treasure, be the most praised of His creation, and have a filthy and dirty nation in front of Him? What victory would be that? That would be insulting to Allah (AJ) and insulting to the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. As a result, Allah (AJ) to clarify the cleaning process, ‘I will clean all of your forward, all of your destiny will be cleaned and I will clean all of your past’. Continue, inshaAllah.
Follow Siratul Mustaqim ﷺ, the Straight Path of Truth (Holy Qur’an, 48:2)
Audience: “And complete His favours upon you and to show you the straight path.”
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: Ni’mat (blessing). Allah’s (AJ) ni’mat to wash everything from your past and put you on the reality of Sayyidina Siratal Mustaqim ﷺ. One of the names of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ – Sayyidina Siratal Mustaqim ﷺ. So, what is Siratal Mustaqim (the Straight Path)? It’s Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. ‘I will put you on Siratal Mustaqim.’ It means you will be with Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. So, without Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, there is no Siratal Mustaqim.
So, everyone wants to argue about what is Siratal Mustaqim. Allah (AJ) describes Sayyidina Siratal Mustaqim ﷺ. ‘I clean your sins,’ 48, surah 48, Fath – the Opening. That Prophet ﷺ is the opening, is the gift, the gift in which Allah (AJ) will clean your history of what’s coming for you and clean all of your path and as a result, put you on the reality of Prophet ﷺ because you’ll be on muqaddam (the one who follows upon the footsteps); muqaddam al-Haq – on the footsteps of truth, inheriting from the footsteps of the Siddiqs.
Be Aware of Whose Footsteps You’re Following – Your Ego or the Truth
That’s why the tariqah (spiritual path). If you’re not in a tariqah, you’re not on qadam as-Siddiq (on the footstep of the Truthful). You’re on the qadam (footstep) of the imam at your mosque which who cares who he is. We don’t know who he is. So, whose qadam are you following? Are you on the qadam of yourself and your nafs? So, you’re qadam al-nafsi? Or qadam al-Haq is Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. His Holy Companions, their feet, they’re called qadam as-Siddiq.
So, then the tariqahs (spiritual paths) are muqaddam because their shaykhs are taken directly from the hands of the Siddiqs. They are Ahlul Basirah (the people of spiritual vision). They see with their heart. They see the Companions that are guiding them. As a result, their hand upon their hand and they walk upon that footstep as the Companions walked with seeing the light of Prophet ﷺ. Read the Hadith for those who love to study and verify what we say. Go back, verify.
The Holy Companions Followed Every Step Prophet ﷺ Took
The Companions had such a yaqeen (certainty) that when Prophet ﷺ was not with them traveling or had veiled himself from this dunya (material world), they could see the lights of his footsteps ﷺ and they walked. If he walked around a rock on a path, they walked that walk. This was the immense barakah of Madinatul Munawwara (luminous city of Prophet ﷺ). That the awliya who inherit from that could see the light of the steps of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. So what shaitan did? He brought Italian marble and put it on everywhere. They said, ‘We did a big ni’mat for you.’
What you did ni’mat, you non-minded person? You took the holy soil in which Prophet ﷺ has footsteps, blessed that soil, all miracles and karamahs from that soil and you put stone upon it to hide the light. When Allah (AJ)… Allah (AJ) described them, ‘Although they wish to extinguish the light,’ this is in many realities. This in this reality of the light of Prophet ﷺ. They can never veil it. All they try, they will never veil that light. But this was the reality of a muqaddam in which their feet walk, the feet of the Siddiqs, the Holy Companions and those feet walk the feet of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. This is the tariq, the path of those who walk with their feet on the feet of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Siratal Mustaqima, right? Last one is when?
Be True Lovers of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to Receive Allah’s Support (Holy Qur’an, 48:3)
Audience: “And so that Allah (AJ) may provide you a great help”.
﴾وَيَنصُرَكَ اللَّـهُ نَصْرًا عَزِيزًا ﴿٣
48:3 – “Wa yansurakAllahu nasran ‘aziza.” (Surat Al-Fath)
“And [that] Allah may help you with a mighty victory.” (The Victory, 48:3)
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi: “YansurakAllahu nasran ‘aziza.” It’s beyond a great help. It’s a great support. “YansurakAllahu nasran ‘aziz.” Anyone who wants nasrullah (victory of Allah (AJ)), wants the support of Allah (AJ), they have to be from these three, these four verses of Surat Al-Fath. How you can receive nasrullah, the support of Allah (AJ), and nasran ‘aziza? That they have to be the ‘ashiqeen and muhibbin (lovers of the way) whom their feet are on the feet of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, on the feet of the Holy Companions.
That’s why shaitan invented Salaf as if to say they’re the ones on the feet of the Companions. But no, they’re on the feet of shaitan. The tariqahs are the Salaf and the inheritors. They actually take the tariqah and the spiritual path of the Companions. That this is the formula in which the Holy Companions gave. 42 of which Imam Ali (as) gave as tariqahs – Qadiri, Rifa’i, Shadhili – all these tariqahs and one coming from Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (as) which is the soul of all tariqahs – Naqshbandiya tul ‘Aliya (The Most Distinguished Naqshbandi Order) in which Imam Ali’s (as) secret also within the secret and upon the secret of Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq’s (as) secret.
Allah (AJ) Provides a Mighty Defense to the Servant Dressed With Sifat al-‘Aziz
Naqshbandiya tul ‘Aliya is the soul of all of the tariqahs (spiritual paths). This is the way. This is what is the path towards protection in the last days. When people want a protection from the difficulty that coming, they need “YansurakAllahu nasran ‘aziza.” Sifat al-’Aziz (attribute of The Almighty) is that Allah (AJ) likes a mighty defense. When sifat al-’Aziz dresses the servant, if all the world comes to block that servant from their rizq, sustenance, support, madad, whatever it is – if sifat al-’Aziz is attached to that servant, it means Allah (AJ) obliterates everything in that path. Nothing is even capable of blocking something from a servant in which Allah (AJ) has dressed with “YansurakAllahu nasran ‘aziza.” (Holy Qur’an, 48:3)
Anything that that servant has to disperse and all the world comes to block that message, block that reality, block that ability, Allah (AJ) again disintegrates all of that so that that message, that ni’mat (blessing), that teaching, that reality goes out. So, nothing coming in and nothing going out can be interrupted if Allah’s (AJ) ‘Aziz is upon the servant. This is what we’re in search of. This is what we’re in need of. Only tariqah provides that. This becomes the greatness of the gift of the ni’mat of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Put the Efforts of Beatifying Your House Towards Your Grave
“Itqun minan naar” (freedom from fire) is that the sifat al-Muntaqim (attribute of The Avenger) begins to dress the servant, wash the servant, and burn away all of the badnesses of the character in which the servant, in their meditation, sees their place in jahannam (hellfire), sees the difficulty within their grave and asks Allah (AJ) that, ‘Ya Rabbi, grant me a protection from that difficulty. Grant me that the salawats (praises upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) and the durood (praising on Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) and the love that I have to be my safeguard within that grave’.
You know that when somebody’s about to buy a home, an apartment, or for the first time in their life they have something of an importance, how much they get interested in, ‘Oh, I have to get the soap dish. Oh, I have to get this. I have to get this. I have to get this. I have to get these flowers. I have to get all of these things’ because this was their whole dream. They want that space or whatever it is that they were wishing for to be perfect.
Your Sincere Love and Positive Actions Will Beatify Your Grave
The servants whom they have not forget and forgotten the reality of paradise and that they are on a temporary journey trying to reach home, they realize that my grave is all that I have to be focused on. Ya Rabbi, let me to give this food. Make my grave to be remodeled. Let me to do this work and pick up this ni’mat and give to these poor people. Give to these starving people. Give them to this, do this, do that. Do this Mawlid (celebration of the birthday of Prophet ﷺ).
Everything that the shaykhs are inspiring within us and all of us to do. Why? You’re remodeling your grave. From the time you got it, it was a hole of dirt and mud. With all the beatific actions, beatific love, the salawats, the charity, the actions, the deeds, the kholoq and the character makes that grave to be beatific, fragrant. They can smell the fragrance of the soils that are coming out, the reality in which Allah (AJ) is dressing upon the grave.
Build Your Mansion in Paradise
They’re interested in their deeds because you see big developers developing, bringing architects, bringing all these things. These are the developers of paradise, in which their only concern is to build the mansions of paradise for themselves and for their students. Is ‘Come with us in these actions and let us begin to remodel our mansions in paradise.’ Every drop of food and drop of water that goes out and every good action and salawat and Mawlid, and every knowledge disseminated makes all of these abodes to be beatific and filled with light.
This is the difference in when we accompany the guides of Allah (AJ). Everything we’re doing – and people may not even know it – everything they’re doing is a building of paradise reality; beyond that reality to be in the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, the Holy Companions, Holy Ahlul Bayt (Holy Family of Prophet ﷺ), all awliyaullah fis samayi wa fil ard (in the heavens and on earth). We pray that Allah (AJ) grant us the blessings to do that and they grant all those whom are trying their best – immense himmah (zeal), immense ni’mat, immense blessings.
Perform Good Deeds and Actions to Acquire the Nazar of Prophet ﷺ, Holy Companions and Ahlul Bayt
If you have Facebook and you have social media, then look at the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people that are being fed this year in Nigeria. You see the extent of the difficulty and the lack of food – in Kenya, in Pakistan, in India – and what the guys are picking up in Canada of hundreds of thousands of food that these wealthy nations want to throw in the trash can. We pick it with the trucks. If we had bigger trucks, we could pick up more and distributing out to families that can’t pay the rent versus eat or pay rent, eat or pay rent. Los Angeles, Chicago, Northern California now, and this is a great ni’mat (blessing).
These will become the lights and the blessings within our graves and our community’s graves and our families’ graves. We pray that Allah (AJ) grant us this reward, grant us this ni’mat. That if He wants to honour His creation, He gives them the actions that will bring rewards. So, we pray that Allah (AJ) grant those actions to us. Grant those actions to our community to be able to feed, to food, to water, to do the Mawlids, to support the orphanages, to support the people, to pick up food, distribute food and do these good actions and good deeds and the Prophet ﷺ to be happy with us, the Holy Companions to be happy with us, and Ahlul Bayt to be happy with us. That ourselves, our family, and communities to be blessed here and the hereafter, and to be prosperous under the nazar (gaze) of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
