Preventing Black Magic – Guide for Protection & Remedy
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
A’udhu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the rejected one
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
“Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum.”
(Surat An-Nisa)
“O You who have believed, Obey Allah, Obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
A reminder always for myself that, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and by the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
Nothing Happens Except By Allah’s (AJ) Will
InshaAllah, we have from Surah Tawbah, verse 51, inshaAllah.
9:51 – “Qul lany-yuseebanaaa illaa maa katabal laahu lanaa Huwa mawlaanaa; wa ‘alal laahi fal yatawakka lil mu’minoon.” (Surah Tawbah)
“Say: Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us: He is our protector: and on Allah let the Believers put their trust.” (Repentance, 9:51)
InshaAllah, Surah Tawbah, verse 51, that Mawlana Shaykh (Q) teaching that this is in the hands of Sayyidina Mahdi (as) for the believers to open ayatul kareem (the generous verse of Holy Qur’an). Its realities and it’s dress upon the soul and Allah (AJ), and this is through the Baab at Tawbah (door of repentance) and the realities of Baab at Tawbah and those whom are trying to reach to those realities. InshaAllah, Allah (AJ) dress and bless us from its understanding.
This ayatul kareem, Allah (AJ), ‘Say, nothing will happen.’ Qul – it’s an order. Allah (AJ) asking Prophet ﷺ to remind his nation, ‘Nothing will befall us. Nothing will happen to us except what Allah (AJ) has decreed for us.’ Nothing. Nothing means nothing. ‘Nothing will happen to us except for what Allah (AJ) has to decreed for us’ (Holy Qur’an, 9:51). To ignite its understanding, ‘Allah (AJ) is our protector’ and, ‘In Allah (AJ), tell the believers to put their trust.’ So, this talk is about black magic.
Don’t Focus on the Problem in Life, Put Your Trust in Allah (AJ)
Those whom thinking they’re under attack, the children are not getting married, their business not doing good, they’re scared, they’re frightened, somebody doesn’t like them, somebody making them sick. Tariqah (spiritual path) comes and teaches us, ‘Don’t focus on the problem in life.’ Don’t focus on the problem in life. Don’t say, ‘Why this is not happening? Why this is not coming? Why what I’m asking for is not happening? Children are not coming out the way I wanted them to be?’ It wasn’t about this world submitting to you. But it was about us – me included, me number one – submitting to Allah (AJ). He doesn’t want the kids to listen, they will not listen.
He doesn’t want us to have that work, doesn’t want us to have…whatever He doesn’t want, it will not happen and whatever Allah (AJ) wants it will happen. So then Allah (AJ) said then, ‘You should be worried about putting your trust in Allah (AJ),’ not finding the problem and then trying to make a solution for the problem. So then, the adab (manners) the tariqah comes and teaches is that whatever difficulty we have in life, it’s not about finding the difficulty, ‘Who’s putting this magic on me? Let me go find now – magic man.’ Isn’t there song for, ‘He’s a magic man!’ [Shaykh laughs].
The Nafs (Ego) Wants to Change What Allah (AJ) Sent for Us
Because then you’re going to find all the charlatans. As soon as you put the ad out for, ‘Let me find the magic man. We’re going to do some jadu (magic) and fix all these things.’ You’re now in the hand of the magic man mafia. Magic man mafia, they’re psychology experts. So, now you broke this covenant. You thought there’s something wrong and you’re going to fix it. Why you going to fix what Allah (AJ) has already in store? Allah (AJ) didn’t know your condition? Allah (AJ) doesn’t know what’s happening to you? Allah (AJ) doesn’t know there’s a magic and jadu coming in your direction? You didn’t get the job you wanted, you didn’t have the desirable kids that you wanted; Allah (AJ) didn’t know that?
So, iman (faith) – we’ll get into that second part – iman says, ‘Of course, Allah (AJ) knows everything but our inner nafs (ego) wants to resolve everything. We’re not happy with sabr (patience) and we’re not happy with iman. It has to be resolved! Because this is a day of drive-thru McDonald’s. So, Islam becomes for us like a drive-thru religion; ‘I don’t like this. I have to seek out somebody to fix it!’ What happened to faith? What happened to testing and sabr and patience? That’s the tafakkur (contemplation) part. Remind me to touch on that. So, this is now finding a problem and finding somebody who will take this problem around to find the magic man.
Beware the Psychological Traps of Black Magic
Soon as you go to them, they’re psychology experts. ‘I have a problem!’ Now you opened a door. ‘My kids are not functioning the way I want and my business not coming good.’ They are in the business of telling you, ‘You have jadu.’ They never go to them and they don’t say that you’re clean. It doesn’t happen. You go to a surgeon, he wants to do surgery. That’s how he makes his money, he’s going to cut you either way. Even if you’re 100% good, he’s going to find something wrong, ‘I’ve got to cut your nose off, it’s too big. It’s…your ears are lumpy and bumpy.’ That’s how he makes his money. He makes his money doing this magic bit. ‘You have a problem!’ And he’s usually back home, far away from you.
Now you’re locked on, ‘What’s your problem?’ You state the problem. Now he’s got your inner psychology; ‘Hmm, your kids, oh kids, that’s great. I’m gonna really get these people.’ Because kids, everybody cares about, and business and work. Before you know it, you’ve given them all your life story. Now they have something on you. They begin to – they have some nefarious energies around them – and they begin to send that energy towards you. If you didn’t have a problem, you’re guaranteed to have a problem now because they are also the problem makers, not solution, they don’t solve problems. Remind me to say why.
Faithful Servants Never Compete With Allah’s (AJ) Will
Because ayatul kareem, who am I to compete with Allah (AJ)? If Allah (AJ) made you sick, you’re supposed to come to me to be healed? Allah (AJ) is like, ‘I didn’t know that my servant was sick or are you renegade? I send him one way. You compete with me a different way. I sent him to you in financial difficulty and you made du’a (supplication) to enrich him? I sent him with difficulties in his family and you prayed to resolve all their difficulties? You didn’t think I know what I wanted for my servant?’
Ahlul iman (people of faith) never interfere with Allah’s (AJ) will. They’re not here to be ‘Illahi’ – “la ilaha illAllah.” They are not a minor god to a greater God. They’re God’s servants and their servanthood is to remind you, ‘Submit to Allah (AJ).’ Instead of looking at your opponent and say, ‘OK, this is a demon behind this guy. This is from the uncle of that guy, he’s doing like this, doing like that.’
No, no, you don’t need to even know who’s doing what because Allah’s (AJ) saying He’s doing it. Who’s doing this to you? Allah (AJ) saying, ‘Nothing will happen to this servant’ because each of us, as a guide, will go and tell you, ‘Nothing’s going to happen to you except what Allah (AJ) has already decreed.’ (Holy Qur’an, 9:51) In His kitab (book) and what He has written has already been written. Who can protect you? Who can be your mawla other than Allah (AJ)? Who can resolve what Allah (AJ) doesn’t want resolved? No one! Anyone who claims is a dajjali (man of deception), fake understanding and they’ll create much more difficulty in your life than benefit.
Awliyaullah Serve Creation Through Guidance
So, then the true servants of Allah (AJ) who are trying their best to be servants of Allah (AJ), to get the satisfaction and rida of Allah (AJ), because that’s why they do this. They’re not here to change the will of Allah (AJ) and pray on everybody, change their sustenance, do all sorts of miraculous things. Those are worshipping things of different cultures. But servanthood to Allah (AJ) is, ‘Ya Rabbi, how can I make You to be happy with me?’
‘Serve My creation.’ They’re lost. Teach them about guidance. They’re devoid of love. Teach them of love. They don’t have a coordinance and direction of where they’re going. Give them and encourage them with good talk, with good manners, with good character. Point them in the right direction and leave the rest to Me. Keep praying for them that My rida and satisfaction to dress them. That their bad characteristic to bring down, ‘Ya Rabbi, so that they can feel Your coordinance, feel the love that You have for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’
Beware of Money Making Schemes by Fake Spiritual Doctors
So then it teaches us every difficulty we have, don’t seek out somebody who’s going to try to take it away. Those are big mafias. The wealthier you are, the more painful your experience is going to be. They said one wealthy person was telling us, who is a big one, ‘Every time I had a problem, he would call say, you have to make 300 qurban (sacrifice).’ That one, he owned a farm with qurbans.
So, when you’re talking to him he’s making the 300 qurban. Then he sends the meat to be sold in the market and then he takes the leather from the skin and sends it to leather shop and it was a multimillion dollar industry. When you called for a problem, it was 200-300 qurbans you have to make. He’s not relieving anything. He would be sending you more difficulty.
When You Follow the Spiritually Wicked, You Become Enslaved to Them
So, the spiritual wicked ones come to your house and begin to smash everything because now you’re in their hand. ‘Oh, now you have more problem. You have to make 500 qurbans.’ You’re not going to get out. You know when you go to loan-shark, why we don’t go to loan-shark? You’re never going to leave them. They’re going to give you a loan and every day is going to duplicate, it’s going to double.
Riba (usury) is when you become exorbitant amount of interest that you can never get out of. There’s no excusing it. There’s no excusing of the loan. It just keeps growing and you’re enslaved to that person now. So, everyday, there’s emails, ‘I have this. I have that. I have this. I went to this pir, he did like this. I went to that pir, he went like this.’
True Guides Take You Towards the Love of Prophet ﷺ, Not Themselves
Naqshbandiyatil Aliyya, their training is that come to us and now begin to pray. Learn how to make your wudu (ablution), learn how to make your tafakkur, learn how to make your contemplation. When you’re doing all of that, the Most Supreme is love Allah (AJ). If you want Allah’s (AJ) love, love Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ (Holy Qur’an, 3:31). Love Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. If Prophet ﷺ takes your case, that’s the only one that you have to worry about. You don’t need any minor intercession. You need the major intercession first.
So, the shaykh should be teaching you how to develop your love for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. If he’s not, he’s trying to introduce himself as that love so that you think he’s going to intercede for you. He can’t intercede for himself if Prophet ﷺ is not happy with him. So, there’s an order in which they should be correctly qualified. They don’t get involved in Allah’s (AJ) will. They never tell you, ‘We’re going to fix it, take it away.’ As a matter of fact, when they pray, they don’t ever pray like that. Say, ‘Ya Rabbi, you sent the servant. I’ll try my best to guide them to the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, to make their tafakkur, make their contemplation.’ Why? So that when I get to know myself, I’ll know my Lord.
“قَال رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ:” مَنْ عَرَفَ نَفْسَهْ فَقَدْ عَرَفَ رَبَّهُ
Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ: “Man ‘arafa nafsahu faqad ‘arafa Rabbahu”
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “Who knows himself, knows his Lord.”
Spiritual Practices Build Your Web of Sustenance
What does it mean to know my Lord? That I’ll know what Allah (AJ) wants from me. What is Allah (AJ) expecting from me? Why is He upset with me? Why is some difficulty coming to me? Maybe He’s not even upset with me, but why is difficulty coming to me? Because we said that at this cave, it’s guardian is ankabut. Spiders – a lot of people have fear of spiders. My son is scared to death of them. But ankabut, why? Because the web.
Our life is about the web. Are we doing our practices? Are we doing our zikr (Divine remembrance) and our mehfil (gathering)? Are we doing our salawats (praises upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) and our awrads (daily practices)? If we’re doing what Allah (AJ) finds most beatific, then our life is this beautiful house of the ankabut and Allah (AJ) sends for us the flies that we need to eat. Like we said about the bul-bul (nightingale), are you coming to do hunting? You don’t need to; the shaykh will train you, you don’t need to hunt.
When Your Faith is Strong, Allah (AJ) Increases Your Protection
You need to do your zikr, you need to do the awrad, you need to do the salawats, you need to do the practices so that Allah (AJ) be happy with you. Allah (AJ) builds your energy. Allah (AJ) builds your protection, builds your love. Your faith becomes strong, “Qul lany-yuseebanaaa illaa maa katabal laahu lanaa Huwa mawlaanaa; wa ‘alal laahi fal yatawakka lil mu’minoon.”
At that time, they believe with all their belief, ‘Allah (AJ) is happy with me and Allah (AJ) is my protector.’ Now whatever is coming is by Allah’s (AJ) Will to make me stronger and, ‘Ya Rabbi, don’t test me beyond my ability,’ and Allah (AJ) say, ‘I never test you beyond your ability. You probably have an ability you don’t yet know that you have.’
2:286 – “La yukallifullahu nafsan illa wus’aha…” (Surat Al-Baqarah)
“Allah does not place a burden on a soul, more than it can bear/beyond its capacity…” (The Cow, 2:286)
Base Your Life on Faith and Remember Death is Inevitable
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and white beard [Shaykh points to his beard]. We’re all young guys with white beards. You think it became white from what? Henna? [Shaykh smiles]. You’re not supposed to make your beard orange. You’re supposed to let the white show to know that death is coming and the only time you have permission to colour your beard, not orange, never orange, you can’t look like a troll. Only time you colour this [beard] is for war so that they don’t know how old the other side is and that was the purpose of henna. Don’t make yourself orange to look ajeeb (strange) when you walk through an airport. This is supposed to be the sunnah (tradition of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) of henna was for warfare so that they could not tell the age of the Sahabi (Holy companions of Prophet ﷺ) because the Sahabi were older in age. They looked like they’re all 25 and ready to go.
But this [Shaykh holds his beard] Sayyidina Umar Al-Farooq (as) was waiting to see hair. He had somebody guarding his door every day remind him, ‘Yeah, Sayyidina Umar (as), that you’re going to pass away.’ He wanted to be remembered daily of death until his black beard had a white hair in it and then he understood. He said, ‘Now you’re free to go.’ He said, ‘Why? Why am I being discharged of my khidmat (service)?’ He [Sayyidina Umar Farooq (as)] says, ‘Because Allah (AJ) sent my own reminder. This now is a reminder my death is coming.’
Don’t Run to the Problem, Run to Allah (AJ)!
It means all these realities of this character, this goodness, this is based on faith. Our way is based on faith, development of our faith. We don’t need to fear something. We have to fear Allah (AJ). We have to develop our practices, develop our energies. That’s why anything you want, make salawat on Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
On the app are all the salawats. On the app are the books of durood sharif (praising upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ). When we say the Arabic salawat, it’s all the book of du’a (supplication), 150% accepted du’as in Divinely Presence. Take out the nasheeds (songs of praise) and begin to sing for yourself. It’s as if praising immense dua’s in Allah’s (AJ) Divinely Presence. Take out the Urdu, if you speak Urdu or if you like the sound of the Urdu and recite, they’re all du’as. That take away every difficulty, every magic, every type of hardship because Allah (AJ) is your defender. Don’t run to the problem, run to the solution, ‘Malik al-Aziz.’
Don’t Fight Devils Yourself, Seek Heavenly Help
When you begin to run towards Allah (AJ), what’s happening? If I run towards the devil, now it’s a fight between me and him and he’s probably a little bit bigger and a little bit stronger. You’re going to take on that guy? No, what does your innocent child do? Runs towards Baba. Baba’s going to give him a beating like he can’t imagine if anyone comes. Imagine running to Allah (AJ), running towards the Divinely Presence, ‘Ya Rabbi, grant me a najat (salvation).’ Allah (AJ) will obliterate any shaitan (satan) coming to you, ‘Ya Al-Muntaqim (O The Avenger).’ Didn’t we have that also in our Burdah Sharif?
Wa lan yadiqa RasulAllahi jahuka bi
Idhal karimu tajalla bismi muntaqimi
And O Messenger of Allah (AJ), your exalted status will not diminish, From your intercession for me, when the Most Bountiful manifests with the Name of Avenger
Al Muntaqim Avenges His Servant
That ‘Muntaqim,’ that when Al-Muntaqim comes to avenge me because I’m running towards Allah (AJ), Allah (AJ) begin to send every type of difficulty to any type of shaitan that coming to you. So, which way is our qibla (direction of prayer)? Running towards Allah (AJ). Not trying to investigate the problem because then you already directed yourself towards shaitan, and now running towards shaitan, ‘Who did it? Where is he? Where is the location of this person? Who did it?’ Oh, now you’re deep in the hands of shaitan and that’s all that shaitan wanted to do is flip your qibla.
That’s why anyone coming after you, anyone attacking you, anyone trying to do magic to you, say that ‘You got to take on Allah (AJ) and the entire heavens to resolve that.’ Because you’re running towards Allah (AJ). Let Allah (AJ) send his army against people. So, what was this nasheed that we just recited for black magic now?
Audience recites: “Koi Sleeka Hai Arzoo Ka” from the Urdu Qawwali book on Muhammadan Way app.
Keep the Love of Prophet ﷺ by Reciting Praisings
You read this if you know Urdu. If you don’t, you can attempt to recite that at home and all your mushkilat to go, all difficulties to go. Recite all the naat (praise) book, all the ones that are dear to you, you recite them. The words are saying that, ‘Why would I ask anyone’s favour and why to place my account?’ It means tell about my life, my problems, my issues, ‘Why to put with anyone, in front of anyone. I will ask only from You and You’ll give, and all my hopes are attached at Your door.’
Kisi Ka Ahsaan Kiyo Uthaey, Kisi Ko Haalaat Kiyo Bataey)
Tumhee Say Mangay Gay Tum He Do Gay)
Tumharay Dar Say He Lo Lagi Hai
Why to ask for anyone’s favour and why to place our accounts in front of anyone
I Will only ask from You (pbuh) and You (pbuh) will give, all my hopes are attached to Your (pbuh) door
It means I don’t have to put all my difficulties everywhere. So, the shaykh has to teach us, keep the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That make these naats, repeat these naats. ‘You’ve granted me the pain of this love. This sinner didn’t deserve it and I was not worthy of this bounty. Oh my master, this is all your kindness.’
Ata Kiya Mujh Ko Dard-e-Ulfat, Kahaa Thi Yeh Pur-Khataa Ki Qismat
May Is Karam Kay Kahan Tha Qaabil
Huzoor Ki Banda Perwari Hai
You (pbuh) have granted me the pain of Love, this sinner didn’t deserve it
I Was not worthy of this bounty, Master (pbuh)! It’s all Your (pbuh) kindness
Live a Life of Sacrifice and Allah (AJ) Will Destroy Your Enemies
Rasulul kareem (The Most Generous Prophet) because as soon as they were approaching they saw every difficulty. Right, “Inna ‘atayna kal kawthar. Fasali li rabbika wanhar. Inna shani-aka huwal abtar.”
108:1-3 – “Inna ‘atayna kal kawthar. (1) Fasali li rabbika wanhar. (2) Inna shani-aka huwal abtar. (3)” (Surat Al-Kawthar)
“To thee (O Muhammad) we have granted the Fount (of Abundance). (1) So pray to your Lord and Sacrifice. (2) Indeed, your enemy is the one cut off. (3)” (The Abundance, 108:1-3)
Allah (AJ), ‘I will cut all your enemies from you. Not that you don’t have children; this is an insulting interpretation by Wahhabis. But what Allah (AJ) is saying that when I give you from these oceans of katheer (abundance) and you lived a life of sacrifice, I will destroy your enemies. There will be nothing behind you, coming after you because Allah (AJ) is supporting you, “Inna Fatahna laka Fathan Mubeena. Wa yansurakAllahu nasran ‘aziza.” “Nasran ‘aziz,” is right behind you. ‘Come on, come on, please go, go, go. Be happy.’ If not for Allah’s (AJ) hand, shaitan would have obliterated us.
48:1 – “Inna Fatahna laka Fathan Mubeena.” (Surat Al-Fath)
“Verily We have granted you [Muhammad (pbuh)] a manifest Victory.” (The Victory, 48:1)
48:3 – “Wa yansurakAllahu nasran ‘aziza.” (Surat Al-Fath)
“And [that] Allah may help you with a mighty victory.” (The Victory, 48:3)
Remedy for Difficulties: Gift With Love to the Family of Prophet ﷺ
So, they understood that this love, this ishq, is just make the naat at home, every difficulty to go away. So. when you have difficulties, the remedy is what? Focus on Allah (AJ) and do your naat, do your salawat (praises upon Prophet ﷺ), do your zikr (Divine remembrance). When you want to love Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, don’t give to somebody because they say I’m going to take difficulty away. That intention is wrong intention. That’s an intention in competition with Allah (AJ). But find out of your love for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, find his family and give them a gift. They don’t take sadaqah (charity), they’re not poor. Prophet ﷺ is supporting them. Find the family of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. If you’re ashiqeen (lovers) and you’re reciting these out of love, find his family and say, ‘For the sake of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, I want to give you a gift.’ You don’t think that’s beatific to Prophet ﷺ?
Our Souls are Like Children Running to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
That you give a gift from love; not that you’re asking something to be resolved like you want to do transaction. That’s like a transaction. This is a way of muhabbat and love, ‘I’m just giving a gift of mawlid because you’re a descendant of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’ My whole training from my shaykh was keep making durood (praising on Prophet Muhammad ﷺ), keep making salawat, this is my medicine.
You don’t see the beatific nature of our souls like little children running to Prophet ﷺ with all the Azimat (Majesty) of Allah (AJ) dress upon that reality and Prophet ﷺ keeping everyone under the khirqah (cloak) and guarding and protecting them, representing them in Divinely Presence of Allah (AJ). “Qul in kuntum tuhibbon Allaha fattabi’oni.”
3:31 – “Qul in kuntum tuhibbon Allaha fattabi’oni, yuhbibkumullahu wa yaghfir lakum dhunobakum wallahu Ghaforur Raheem.” (Surat Ali-Imran)
“Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” (Family of Imran, 3:31)
Your Love for Prophet ﷺ Grants You the Love of Allah (AJ)
This is the “tabi’oni,” that we came, we love and then what Allah (AJ) granted us as a reward, “Yuhbibkumullah.” If Prophet ﷺ opened his khirqah (cloak) for you, know that Allah (AJ) loves you because Allah’s (AJ) Will is on the will of Prophet ﷺ. They don’t love two different people where Prophet ﷺ says, ‘I love this one,’ Allah say (AJ), ‘I can stand that one.’ It’s the same love. And then Allah’s (AJ) what, “Ghaforur Raheem.” ‘I forgive because you love, I love; we forgive that servant.’
We pray that Allah (AJ) give us a deep understanding of this ishq and this love and the whole manner and the adab (manners) of how to make Prophet ﷺ to be happy with us. So that that love is true, it’s proven and we begin to feel the love within our heart and every difficulty like being pushed away because of this love and the power of this love, inshaAllah.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
