Islam: A Religion of Sacrifice, Not Compromise
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ٱلْرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُم… ﴿٥٩﴾ …
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Our Journey Starts in Muharram to Reach Dhul Hijjah
InshaAllah, next week and a half, inshaAllah, opening of the holy month of hajj (pilgrimage), Dhul Hajj. Alhamdulillah, Allah (AJ) grant us this 12th month. In the oceans of the reality of 12 multiplied by 9 and the way of the awliya (saints) is the secret of the Kawthar (The Fountain of Abundance). That our life is a journey entering into this holy oceans of the Kawthar and the hajj is a symbol of reaching towards that reality. That everything that we’re doing for the hajj and the rituals of the hajj are the perfection and the examples of faith.
For those who want to reach to these realities, be dressed by these realities, then Allah (AJ) granting them the way of ma’rifah (gnosticism). That they start in the month of Muharram with their right foot entering a pilgrimage, a Divinely pilgrimage, which is an eternal journey towards the Lord of power and comes to a finale on the 12th month, comes to a pilgrimage and entering into the holy precincts into the reality of what hajj is standing for, all of its examples. They go through all the symbols of faith and all the realities of faith. InshaAllah, we’ll talk about those at a another day.
Qurban is a Gift From Allah (AJ) to the Nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
This year of journeying that Allah (AJ) puts us through, tries us, tests us, is filled with accomplishments and many failures; things where we came short from our goal and from our destiny, from our destination that we tried to achieve or wanted to achieve. Allah (AJ) knows that we are created weak. He’s our Creator. The immensity of the rahmah and the mercy of Allah (AJ) is that you know that you’re reaching to your pilgrimage, the month of pilgrimage, the 12 months you have been journeying towards the Divinely Presence.
Allah (AJ), knowing that we’re a weak creation and Allah (AJ) has granted an immense gift. That gift is the qurban (sacrifice). That the qurban is Allah’s (AJ) gift to the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That all the imperfections and all the errors and all the things that we didn’t do correctly or incomplete or didn’t achieve what we were supposed to achieve of Divinely realities. Allah (AJ) gives this description of the qurban, is that ‘We ransomed you with a tremendous ransom.’ It means ‘We saved you with a tremendous reality’.
﴾وَفَدَيْنَاهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿١٠٧
37:107 – “Wa fadainaahu bizibhin ‘azeem” (Surat As-Saffat)
“And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice” (Those Who Set the Ranks, 37:107)
Allah (AJ) Tested Sayyidina Ibrahim’s (as) Heart Even After He Gave Everything
That was symbolic of Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) being commanded. That which you love most, you have to sacrifice for the sake of Allah (AJ). All along, Allah (AJ) knowing that He’s not going to be able to complete that and that his heart was burning and in immense difficulty. That all his life, he gave everything for Allah (AJ) without even a question or a doubt in the oceans of immense generosity and immense wealth as Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) had – immense wealth. That every time Allah (AJ) asked of him anything, he gave everything without even thinking.
His life is asking for a son that would inherit his way. Then Allah (AJ) knowing, ‘Okay, that you’ve been so generous and loving, but you have attached your heart to this issue. So, I will attach a request to this issue that your son has to be sacrificed for Me’. Everyone knows the story, who follows the tariqah (spiritual path) and follows Islam and what Prophet ﷺ brought for us. A heavy burden that you give everything and still Allah (AJ) looks to the heart and says, ‘That which you’re holding in your heart and you’re clinging onto it and hoping that I won’t ask from it, I’ll ask that also from you’.
Allah (AJ) Constantly Tests Our Love to Take Us Higher
Being the servant of Allah (AJ), then whatever Allah (AJ) wants. After a little bit of hesitation, [he] begins to take Sayyidina Isma’il (as) up the mountain, Jabal ar Rahmah (Mountain of Mercy). That is the symbol of Arafah. So, all of the rituals of hajj (pilgrimage), hajj’s pinnacle means that the secret of hajj is in Arafah because the rituals of hajj have to do with faith. We’ll go into that another day. We have it in the book on the realities of hajj. What we described last night is Allah (AJ) is going to test love. You can’t just profess love by your tongue. That Allah (AJ) wants to see the action of your love and if your heart is committed to a servant who has given everything in the way of Allah (AJ).
Allah (AJ) says, ‘That which is most dear to you, are you willing to sacrifice for Me?’ Because now both are going to be tested. Allah (AJ) doesn’t need the blood of anyone, but a test within the heart of people that when Allah (AJ) pulls at the strings within your heart, there’s an immense wisdom and hikmah in everything. One, is he going to listen? All his life was listening. Is there a point in which you say to yourself, ‘I’ve listened so much. Oh, I’ve achieved very high stations. That’s it for me to listen anymore’? Some people talk like that, God forbid. That there’s never a height because wherever we think we achieved, Allah (AJ) – it’s still the bottom of where I can take you up even higher.
Sayyidina Isma’il (as) Reached the Station of Moral Excellence
So, faith is an infinite capacity of spiritual growth to see and test His servant. That your love, I have to test it again. As a result, His servant accepts and begins to ascend onto the mountain of rahmah, Jabal ar Rahmah – a mountain of mercy, like a little hill. But also, the one being sacrificed has an immense secret. Sayyidina Isma’il (as) is Maqamul Ihsan (Station of Moral Excellence). That he represents the station of immense purification, immense yaqeen (certainty). For through his light is coming the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, the nation of two sacrifices.
That each time the bearer of the light of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ had to show their willingness to sacrifice. This is a nation born from sacrifice, from Sayyidina Isma’il (as) and Abu Muttalib (as), when they said sacrifice the son and your son. It means this is a nation born from sacrifice. That’s why other nations fear this nation. This is a nation that has power. This is a nation that lives to sacrifice themself for Allah (AJ) — highest gift, highest reward — because they carry the inheritance of Sayyidina Isma’il (as). That as they’re going up the hill, Sayyidina Isma’il (as), through Qur’an, Allah (AJ) gives the yaqeen that, ‘Baba, don’t worry. The fear you have, you find me to be patient’.
37:102 – “Falamma balagha ma’ahus sa’ya qala ya bunayya inni ara fee almanami annee adhbahuka fanzhur ma dha tara, Qala ya abati if’al ma tu maru, satajidunee inshaAllahu minas Sabireen.” (Surat As-Saffat)
“And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, “O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think. He said, ‘O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, one of the Patient/steadfast.’” (Those Who Set the Ranks, 37:102)
Following Islam Means to Sacrifice Yourself, Not Just Your Possessions
It means revealing to his father, who’s a prophet because this the Muhammadan light now talking to Sayyidina Ibrahim (as). That, ‘We know what Allah (AJ) has commanded you’. This is the Muhammadan haqqaiq (realities). That whatever reality you have, our reality is higher and we know what you’ve been commanded to do because this is the light of Prophet ﷺ talking to Sayyidina Ibrahim (as). You’re being tested if you’re going to give your possession. But the light of Sayyidina Ibrahim (as), Sayyidina Isma’il (as), represents is that this is a light in which sacrifices itself, not possessions only.
Other nations, maybe their secret is to give away possessions, give away money, give away whatever they want to give away of cars and jewelries and foundations. But the light of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ sacrifices themselves. That’s what Allah (AJ) wanted to show Sayyidina Ibrahim (as). Because he doesn’t…he is not in need of the blood and the death of anyone, but wanted to show one: will you follow? Or you think you’ve achieved now everything, you don’t have to listen anymore? Astaghfirullah (I seek forgiveness from Allah (AJ)).
Sayyidina Isma’il Had Immense Yaqeen Showing Patience During His Father’s Testing
He’s an immense servant of Allah (AJ). To show him, this child is not just any child. This child has an immense yaqeen (certainty). Immediately, the child spoke as a small boy, 10-11 years old. That ‘Don’t worry, Baba, you find me to be patient’, knowing I’m going to be sacrificed. Who can do that? Nobody can sacrifice themselves at this age and have yaqeen. One other, like Imam Ali (as), that, ‘I’ll lie in the bed and you take Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (as) and make hijrah (migration)’.
So, this is a continuous theme in this powerful nation. Other nations, they pride themself on giving away their cash and jewelry and buildings and making monuments. But this nation, you have to fear because they give themselves to Allah (AJ). Cash and goods doesn’t mean anything for God, but give yourself in the way of Allah (AJ). As a result, he’s an immense light; such an immense light, Sayyidina Isma’il (as), that he’s buried at the Ka’bah and the whole nation has to make tawaf (circumambulation) around him ‘alayhis salaam; wahhabi, not wahhabi.
We Make Tawaf Around Sayyidina Isma’il (as) During Hajj
All they say of Sufis, ‘You you people love this, love that, grave worshippers.’ Allah (AJ) said, ‘I’m going to make you make tawaf (circumambulation) around this prophet because he has an immense reality’. He’s buried right at the Ka’bah and all the nation has to make tawaf around the Ka’bah.
They’re making tawaf around Sayyidina Isma’il (as), knowing and unknowing, to pay the respects that you are the vessel and vehicle of a tremendous light, the light of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. Now, coming from your rope, from your shajarah (spiritual lineage), from your tree and this light will be the symbol of Divine sacrifice. That they give themselves entirely for the Divinely Presence and for Allah’s (AJ) rida and satisfaction and they should govern themselves by that sacrifice.
We Cry For Our Own Tragedies But Don’t Cry for Prophet’s ﷺ Family
As a result of that light and the perfection of that light, they’re a nation that kept their fast. Ramadan comes, two billion people enter into 30 days of fasting; immense, immense reality upon this Earth. The Earth doesn’t even see that anymore, doesn’t understand that anymore.
It’s newsworthy that here we go, Ramadan has started. Two billion people begin to abstain from food and water from sunrise to sunset for a God that nobody believes in anymore. But they believe. They have the ability to sacrifice food and water, their time, their ability, their efforts, their ability to work, their ability to function. Even if they’re being bombed, they were fasting. Even if they were under rubble, they were making their salah (daily prayer).
Everywhere on Earth is Karbala and Everyday is Ashura
It means everywhere is Karbala and everyday is Ashura. The people who didn’t want to cry for Imam Hussain (as), and you see the hypocrisy in this mazhab (school of thought) of these people. When Ashura comes, we say: make your tears because this is the family of Prophet ﷺ. What do you like of this village and that village and making posters of this and posters of that?
Imagine the posters of Karbala. What was done to them? What atrocities had occurred to them? You cry in remembrance for them and they say, ‘No, why you need to cry for all these things?’ Now look how they’re crying, nonstop, crying, making posters, saying, we’ll never forget. How you forgot your Prophet ﷺ and his family, how you never forget? Yeah, of course you forget. You forget every 5 minutes something. But not those who have the love for Ahlul Bayt (Holy Family of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ), the love for Holy Companions, the love for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ was always a reminder for us.
We Should Be Reminded of Imam Hussain (as) When We See What’s Happening Now on Earth
Every day is Ashura for ‘ashiqeen (lovers) and muhibbin (lovers of the way) of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Everywhere on this Earth is a Karbala. Their lives to sacrifice for the way of the heavens. This nation is an example of the heavens, with heavenless societies that are coming against the Creator, coming against Divinely lights and becomes the symbol of that. It means that becomes then the tremendous reality. When we’re seeing what’s happening upon this Earth, immense realities, that we should be reminded of Imam al-Hussain (as).
That how we cry for these people and all these atrocities, coming Muharram, the whole nation should cry. Say, ‘Ya Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem (The Most Generous Messenger), shame on us that we didn’t cry for your atrocities and the atrocities of your family, even your holy companions that were slaughtered’. But the hajj (pilgrimage) is the symbol of sacrifice.
We Must Ask for the Nazar of Sayyidina Isma’il (as)
That it all started with a little boy who told his father, ‘Baba, I know what you’ve been asked. InshaAllah you find me to be patient.’ We have to ask the support of Sayyidina Isma’il (as). His nazar (gaze) be upon us, our families and communities. Give us a istiqam and firmness in our tariqah, in our path, this path of love and ishq, seeking God’s…“Illahi anta maqsodi, wa Ridaka Matlob.”
اِلَهِى اَنْتَ مَقْصُوْدِيْ وَرِضَاكَ مَطْلُوْبِيْ
“Illahi anta maqsodi, wa Ridaka Matlobi.”
“My God, You are my aim, and Your Satisfaction is what I seek.”
That we beg Your forgiveness and seek Your satisfaction. That ask for these precious souls to give us a firmness within our heart and soul. The yaqeen (certainty) that you had and the yaqeen that you have that was given to you so that to endure whatever test and whatever being asked upon you, that you become successful. Because “Tawasaw bil haqqi wa tawasaw bis Sabr”.
﴾إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ ﴿٣
103:3 – “Illal ladheena aamano wa ‘amilos saalihaati, wa tawasaw bil haqqi wa tawasaw bis Sabr. (3)” (Surat Al-‘Asr)
“Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience. (3)” (The Declining Day, 103:3)
Give Yourself for Allah (AJ) Like Sayyidina Isma’il (as)
Anyone who wants to take a means of a path to the truth, it has to be based on sabr (patience). Nothing going to happen our way. Nothing going to happen at our speed. Everything is based on Allah’s (AJ) satisfaction and forgiveness. That He continuously forgive us, but grant us satisfaction that ‘I’m happy with you. Keep going’ as a result of this amazing gift of Sayyidina Isma’il (as) in which we are the inheritors.
When you come to the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, you are inheriting from this gift. We don’t understand what it is when Allah (AJ) says, ‘I let you to become Muslim. I let you. I could have made you any other religion, one pleasing or displeasing to Me. But when I let you enter into the door of Islam, these are the gifts of that reality to inherit from this bloodline and this line of light that’s based on the satisfaction of the Divine and sacrificing oneself’.
Every Earthly System is Led By Those of Bad Character
Other nations, they feel that if they sacrifice property, they can keep their bad character because they build… go down the street, every single building is from them. Every place of worship from them. Every school and university from them. All of them, crooks, pimps, whatever you can imagine, the worst of people. They run the worst of industries, the worst of businesses, most corrupt in the extortion and pulling out of everything.
But they sacrificed all these buildings? Because it became, in their understanding, if you give this sacrifice, you’ll be okay with God. But what Allah (AJ) brought in the perfection of Islam is Sayyidina Isma’il’s (as) example. That ‘No, no, baba, inshaAllah, you find me to be patient because I’m going to be the qurban (sacrifice). You’re going to give your property away and even you couldn’t do that correctly. But I’m the qurban for Allah (AJ). I will give myself for Allah (AJ)’.
Islam Focuses on Constructing Good Character, Not Big Buildings
So, we drive down the street and we don’t see too many people, too many structures from Sayyidina Isma’il’s (as) people. But if you should cross them and come against their book and come against their Prophet ﷺ, they will put their life on the street without a blink of an eye because they’re the sacrifice. They are the buildings and the universities. They’re everything. That’s all that Allah (AJ) wanted from them, ‘Give yourself. I don’t need your buildings. What I’m going to do with your buildings? What I’m going to do with all these structures but you are remaining to be dirty?’ One who wishes to sacrifice themselves, they have a certainty in their heart. They’re going to be meeting their Lord.
As a result, if your life is with this belief that I’m going to sacrifice myself — this is not about harming yourself — but this is about that I’m not going to eat when it’s Ramadan. I’m not going to smoke if it’s going to contaminate my heart and soul. I’m not going to talk bad. I’m not going to have bad character. I’m not going to take my money from lying and cheating and stealing from people. But I give a building and think I have made a recompense. But I’m giving myself and I’m going to meet my Lord. That becomes the nation of perfection.
Arm Yourself Against Shaitan By Battling Your Vices
When one wants to give themselves to Allah (AJ), then they know they have to clean themselves. They have to perfect their character. They have to put their life in order and say that, ‘I don’t know. At any time, this may be my last breath. Am I good with Allah (AJ)? All the buildings didn’t mean for anything for Allah (AJ). But did I sacrifice myself?’ That’s why the tariqah (spiritual path) is important. They come and teach people: sacrifice yourself. Don’t sit at a cafe and talk about all the big political gestures you would make.
Sit and tell yourself, ‘Look, what are my vices? Why you don’t sacrifice these vices?’ If you smoke, for the sake of Allah (AJ), stop it! You can’t make jihad (struggle) against your cigarette? Say, ‘That’s it, I’m going to make my battle and not do that. I’m not going to fight. I’m not going to curse. I’m not going to yell. I’m not going to drink. I’m not going to do all these things that shaitan (satan) is pushing me to do.’ Take your battle and arm yourself against shaitan. That’s what the self-sacrifice and the perfection of this nation.
Fasting in Ramadan is a Symbol of Sayyidina Isma’il (as)
That’s why two billion people enter into Ramadan because Allah (AJ) supports their struggle and their fight. If there was no Divine support with this nation, how they’re entering into fasting when no other nation kept their siyam (fast)? They took 30 days down to one day and I won’t eat chocolate. What? Anyone wants proof, is this a nation that’s supported by God? Yes, because the devil is ever-present. How Ramadan comes, two billion people decide they will struggle and fight against themselves? Being in communities that are all eating and drinking left and right of them and they say, ‘I will abstain’.
This is the symbol of Sayyidina Isma’il (as). This is the light of the reality of Islam and how it’s supported by Allah (AJ). When they want to cover and look like somebody from the moon, they cover and Allah (AJ) supports them. They don’t care who left and right is looking and not looking. When they want to carry the sunnah (traditions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ), again, Allah (AJ) supports them. They self-sacrifice. Sacrifice your beauty. Sacrifice your vanity. Sacrifice everything. This is the way of sacrifice. Make it to be fashionable for you and say, ‘I wear a fashion from paradise. You like it? Alhamdulillah, you can have one too. If you don’t like it, too bad for you.’
Shaitan Encourages Us to Compromise Our Faith
This is sacrifice, but what shaitan wants is, ‘No, don’t sacrifice. Compromise.’ Very different. Compromise. ‘For the sake of everyone in the room, we’re going to put alcohol on your table.’ What you talking about? Why I have to compromise my faith? I just won’t sit with you people and sacrifice. I don’t need those people. I don’t have to compromise my faith. Nobody’s willing to compromise for me. ‘Oh, it’s Ramadan. We’re all going to fast with you tomorrow. Let’s go.’ So, shaitan’s system – compromise your faith. Cut the corners of your faith. Why? So that Allah’s (AJ) satisfaction won’t be on you.
But what Sayyidina Isma’il (as) is reminding us? Oh, we bear a light from the lights of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. But we’re the nation of sacrifice, not compromise. We have to sacrifice our desires. Sacrifice that which is popular. Remain to be a symbol of the heavens of righteousness, correctness. If every incorrectness done to you, you must remain to be correct and on truth. If every badness and bad character given to you, you must remain to be on the path of truth. “Tawasaw bil haqqi wa tawasaw bis Sabr”.
﴾إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ ﴿٣
103:3 – “Illal ladheena aamano wa ‘amilos saalihaati, wa tawasaw bil haqqi wa tawasaw bis Sabr. (3)” (Surat Al-‘Asr)
“Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience. (3)” (The Declining Day, 103:3)
This Path of Truth is Paved With Sabr and Sacrifice
Never the path of haq (truth) becomes not haq for the sake of Allah (AJ). Say, ‘Oh no, I’m going to now be belligerent. I’m going to be angry. I’m going to be aggressive’. But the path of haq, it’s paved with sabr (patience). Then, as a result of this event of Arafah, this is the inheritance that Sayyidina Isma’il (as) is giving to us.
That if you want from this source, if you want from this Muhammadan light and you want this reality of sacrifice, you took a path on your tariqah to live with a consistent sacrifice and not compromise. Then wherever it came short, Allah’s (AJ) rahmah was in the qurban. Because everybody does their hisaab (account) in this month. Look at your hisaab and say that from Muharram when I was excited, in Muharram, I was going to accomplish.
Allah’s (AJ) Rahmah is in Giving Us the Qurban to Remove Our Imperfections
In Muharram, I was going to make my hijrah (migration) and get closer to that reality. If we go back into our counting and say, ‘Did I come a little bit short? Alhamdulillah, I did lots of great things. Anywhere I may have come short, I can’t take back time and redo it’. But Allah’s (AJ) immense rahmah says, ‘No, you don’t have to. I gave you qurban.’
By the blessings of that qurban and by the majesty Allah (AJ) ‘Izzati wa Jalalihi gives to us, a nation that this qurban will take all imperfections away from you, all difficulties away from you, and return you as if newly born, pure and perfected. This is the immensity of Arafah for the ‘arifeen (gnostics), those whom are taking their whole 12 months of hijrah.
Four Prophets are Alive on Jabal ar Rahmah
Then you’re coming now to the finish line. All the nation, with their ruhaniyat (spirituality), are going up Jabal ar Rahmah to be in the presence. What we described, the four prophets whom are alive on Earth, they’re on Jabal ar Rahmah. Why Allah (AJ) kept the four prophets alive? One, to greet the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ for the immensity of reaching to Jabal ar Rahmah and Arafah.
As they’re going up there, they’re giving the qurban (sacrifice) to take away all the imperfections of what maybe they didn’t completely accomplish at the pinnacle of the mountain in which they were supposed to sacrifice themself. You get to the top of the mountain and maybe you compromised in your faith. Everybody has situations in which maybe they compromised. You can’t take it back. You can’t have remorse because there’s no nothing, going backward.
The Largest Movement of Wealth on Earth is Zakat
We don’t have to play with shaitan like that, but Allah (AJ) gives to us, ‘Don’t worry, I have given your nation a tremendous ransom. As soon as you do that qurban, every imperfection, everything wrong will be taken with it.’
﴾وَفَدَيْنَاهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿١٠٧
37:107 – “Wa fadainaahu bizibhin ‘azeem” (Surat As-Saffat)
“And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice” (Those Who Set the Ranks, 37:107)
As a result, one of the greatest movements of wealth upon this Earth is the qurban and the Eid of qurban and the zakat (charity). Islamic realities upon this Earth are immensely fascinating for other people. The largest movement of wealth in this world is zakat. Two billion people believe and they move their belief. They stand behind their belief. Their belief has a power and blessings upon them.
As a result, that meat reaches to the entire globe, to the people whom are hungry. The action provides relief to the servant. Allah (AJ) gives a mi’raj (ascension) to the creature; everyone wins. They say, well, what about the poor creature? The creature reached its highest purpose. A purpose out on the field, just sitting and eating and walking? Or the purpose of creation was to serve creation?
Live a Life of Service Like the Animal Sacrificing Itself for Qurban
Everything that the tariqah teaches: our life was not to sit on our couch and eat chips all day. Then we’re no different than a grazing creature. Live a life of khidmat and service. This gives our life a purpose. Then imagine all those creatures. This is their highest khidmat: to serve the nation of Adam and Eve, to accomplish what Allah (AJ) wants to give them of rewards and they willfully give themselves for this nation to accomplish that gift.
Their lights reach the highest level of esteem. So, everything in Allah’s (AJ) way is always rewarded and perfected. Allah (AJ) said not even the weight of a mustard seed is lost. Nothing is wasted. Everything will receive its satisfaction.
21:47 – “Wa nada’ul mawazeenal qista li Yawmil Qiyaamati, falaa tuzlamu nafsun shai’aa; wa in kaana misqaala habbatim min khardalin atainaa bihaa; wa kafaa binaa haasibeen.” (Surat Al-Anbiya)
“And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so that no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth (to account). And sufficient are We as accountant.” (The Prophets, 21:47)
Our Life is About Sacrifice, But This World Pushes Us to Compromise
We pray that Allah (AJ) inspire us for the qurbans (sacrifices) and to reach to that satisfaction, to reach these rewards, to reach to our perfection. Our life is about sacrifice. This is not the harming of people. This is not what the news tries to interpret these words as, but this world is about compromise. Everybody wants to compromise to make other people happy because this is a satanic system.
But Allah (AJ) reminds for us: Prophet ﷺ light guides to us is that sacrifice for Allah (AJ). Sacrifice bad character. Sacrifice your tongue. You know, people now are quick to use their tongue against each other, loved ones and enemy. Sacrifice your tongue, don’t speak. Sacrifice your mind, don’t think. Sacrifice all that is unpleasing to Allah (AJ) for the sake of Allah’s (AJ) rida and satisfaction.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
