Gondola Ride to the Heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahhir Rabbil Alameen wa Salatu wa Salaam Ashrafil Mursaleen Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammad ul Mustafa ﷺ bi madadakum wa nazarakum Sayyidi Ya Rasool ul Kareem Ya Habeeb ul Adheem Madad Ya Sayyidi Ya Sultanul Mawlana Shaykh Abdullahil Faizad Daghestani Madad Ya Sayyidi Sultanul Awliya Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil Haqqani Madad Ya Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani Madad Al Haqq Ya Hujjatullahi Mukhlis unzur halana wa ishfalana wa abina bi madadakum wa nazarakum
Atiullah wa atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum. Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Board the Gondola That Runs On a Cable to the Heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
That we took a path in which to be nothing and in that nothingness, Allah’s (AJ) greatness and magnificence and munificence to dress and to bless us all, inshaAllah. That, this way of haqaiqs (realities), we try to put into words. Sometimes, it’s difficult to give somebody an understanding. But like this path, like a sky cabin or gondola or skytram, it’s on a cable.
This cable reaches from dunya (material world) all the way into malakut (heavenly realm). In reality, it enters into the heart of Prophet ﷺ and the world of light. What Allah (AJ) wants for guidance is that to board these gondolas, board these ships, however you want to call them. As soon as we board upon them, they’re moving.
Every Year, We Move Through 12 Hijabs Towards Malakut
There is one whom is a guide. It means he operates one of those gondolas to take people back into that malakut (heavenly realm). There are 12 hijabs, 12 stops on this way into the malakut. One way of understanding these 12 hijabs is to understand that we have 12 months. If we look to Shamsul Arifeen (sun of knowers), that this image of sultanate (kingdom) and these are 12 hijabs (veils), 12 months that we are moving through every year. They’re moving into that reality.
There are those who operate the gondola, that move into that reality because of the sheer understanding that they have gives you an understanding of who they are. There are those who entertain inside the gondola. Because 99.9% of the people, they entertain inside the cabin. They’re not from that reality to understand where this cabin is going. They’re entertaining the occupants of that cabin.
Know Your Lord Sees You in Everything You Do
Inside that cabin, you have to have the usool (principles), the understanding of shari’ah (Divine law) which is your Islam. You have to have the understandings of how to reach to the levels of iman (faith) which is the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. To love Prophet ﷺ more than you love yourself and then to eventually be taught that on this gondola, as its leaving the Earthly atmosphere, you must reach to Maqam al Ihsan (Station of Moral Excellence).
So, that to see your Lord in everything that you’re doing. So, that has, in itself, an immense reality. When this nurul iman (light of faith) enters into the soul of these occupants, by the mere traveling upon this ship into that Divinely presence.
Qala ﷺ: “An Ta’bud Allaha, Ka annaka tarahu, fa in lam takun tarahu fa innahu yarak.” [Sahih Bukhari 50]
The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) replied, “It is to worship/serve Allah (AJ) as though you behold/see Him; and if you don’t behold/see Him, (know that) He surely Sees you.” [Source: Authentic by Bukhari 50]
When Your Spiritual Vision is Open, You Understand Allah (AJ) Sees You in Everything
Then they begin to teach: these shaykhs and these guides, Waliyun Murshidun, the Saintly Guides whom Allah (AJ) give them not only guidance, but give them from Allah’s (AJ) intimate love. Only way to describe it is an intimate love in which Allah (AJ) love them, they love Allah (AJ). That love is an immense love for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. As a result, their teachings of how to reach that reality, how to witness Allah (AJ) in everything; then the completion of that is that Allah witnesses them.
It means if you can’t see that reality, know that Allah (AJ) sees you. But at the same time, that if you can see that reality, you’ll see that Allah (AJ) sees you in everything which is immense, immense. Imagine the spiritual vision open. They can see, hear the zikr (Divine remembrance) of the trees. With what energy Allah (AJ) gave to it, that can hear that zikr and they can sense that that tree is looking at them, hear the zikr of the birds and know that the birds are looking at them with the power of Allah (AJ).
We Are the Preferred Ones Upon This Earth (Holy Qur’an, 17:70)
It means you could be sitting. All of a sudden, 2, 3 birds sit down and begin to look at you. Who sent them there? With what eyes, you watch now, in these, in these, like, fairy-tale movies; fairy-tale because Allah trying to show haqaiqs that, in a busy world, no longer people pay attention to. That who sees through those eyes, of that parinday, of that bird. Especially birds that because they represent a holy power that Allah give them, the power of flight and flying.
With what eyes they look and they can see the servant of Allah (AJ) and how Allah (AJ) own all those billions of eyes into the sky. They see everything that insan (mankind) does. They’re witnesses of this creation. All of Allah’s (AJ) creation witnesses this creation, witnesses us because we’re the “Wa laqal karramna bani adam”. We’re the preferred ones upon this Earth.
17:70 –“Wa laqad karramna banee adama, wa hamalna hum filbarri wal bahri wa razaqnahum minat tayyibati wa faddalnahum ‘ala katheerin mimman khalaqna tafdeela. (Surat Al-Isra)
“And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided good and pure sustenance and bestow upon them favours, and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference.” (The Night Journey, 17:70)
Everything Moves in the Power of 9
Each one during why Allah (AJ) preferred insan (mankind) because they witness all of the bad character. In that reality and in that journeying, there are 12 hijabs (veils). The first of which, in the powers of 9, that’s a different talk from a different night.
But the reality of this power of 9, and the sultanate (kingdom) of the power of 9; everything on these trams, on these gondolas, is moving in the power of 9 because it’s the sultan of numbers. It means it’s a power coming from Prophet’s ﷺ heart. That bring them through this izzah. Bring them through this might and through this reality.
Surah At-Tawbah, the 9th Chapter, Symbolizes the Sacrifice of Your Bad Character
The first of that 9 is the 9th surah (chapter) of Holy Quran, Surat at-Tawbah. We said there is no Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem in Tawbah because you have to sacrifice yourself. Don’t say Bismillah, but say Bismillah Allahu Akbar.
‘Ya Rabbi, that this year is the year in which I want to sacrifice my bad character, my bad desires, my badness, my inability to submit. All of this badness, ya Rabbi, I want to put it onto the table.’ That becomes the month of Muharram in which Allah (AJ) asking that, no haram (forbidden). Move into these realities. Dress yourself from these realities.
Guides Understand the Course Where the Ship is Going
The second 9 from Holy Qur’an because these are Allah’s (AJ) ancient words, ancient realities – Ashab al Kahf, Surat al Kahf – because they want us to understand. That’s why those guides and the entertainment people are different. Those guides understand that when they’re traversing and teaching, there is a course in which this ship is going. Some are in the cabin. They don’t understand where this ship is going, which are 90-95% of those whom are teaching.
Although their teaching is necessary, they’re not necessarily those of the ones who know which direction the ship is going. They’re merely inside teaching the passengers: behave yourself. Sit down. Don’t jump up the window. You’re going to get hurt. Have good manners. Work for your food. Then begin to teach more advance, more advance, more advance until those whom Allah (AJ) want to achieve a high level of consciousness.
Who Knows Himself Knows His Lord
They be trained on how to begin to look. When you’re looking from this tram, this reality that’s going up, these will be magnificent views and vistas because you’re traveling. Soon as they teach you, you look out the window. You’ll see this haqaiq, you’ll see this reality. These are the khashf (spiritual vision). This is for us an understanding of how to understand. This is a journey.
When they begin to train you and say, ‘Shaykh, I want to understand more. I want to learn more. So, the only thing you have to learn is how to do your tafakkur (contemplation). What do you want to learn all of these different things and be taught by all these different people if you don’t know yourself? So, Prophet ﷺ teaching: know yourself, you’ll know your Lord.
Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ: “Man ‘arafa nafsahu faqad ‘arafa Rabbahu”
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “Who knows himself, knows his Lord.”
Master the Way of Tafakkur to Understand Who You Are
So then, you should master the way of tafakkur (contemplation) before anything else. Before you sit down with anyone to teach you anything, you have to teach yourself about who you are because anyone who try to teach you is going to teach you from their understanding. Especially if its completely dunya (material world) understanding – every ayat (verse) of Qur’an will be something different, very incorrect.
Oh, there is no awliya (saints). Oh, there is no wasila (a means). Oh, there is no Milad an Nabi ﷺ, astaghfirullah. Every kind of bad desires, bad thought they put onto the children to teach. So, then this way was based on teach yourself first, who you are. Make your way of tafakkur (contemplation). Begin to understand who am I? Ya Rabbi, what’s my reality? What are my bad desires? What is my characteristic?
Worry About Your Grave and What Allah (AJ) Will Ask You
So, they took a path on that cabin, on that gondola, to know themselves. That use the trainings of the shaykhs on how to go deep into their heart, how to negate everyone in the cabin with them; not be distracted by other people, what they achieve, or what you perceive they’re achieving.
Because all I have to worry about is my grave. What am I going to achieve in my grave and what is Allah (AJ) going to ask me? This shaykh, he’s that shaykh, this one this, this one that – Allah (AJ) not going to ask you about any of that. Allah’s (AJ) only going to ask me about myself.
It’s Not Our Business to Understand the Level of Our Shaykh
So, if you find somebody that teaching those realities, don’t worry about their station. Most likely, it’s way above your head and above your pay. You don’t have to worry about that. You only have to worry about how to learn that reality. You’re not here to inspect them.
We said before, there’s underwear. You buy them, you buy underwear and has like a inspected by number 15. Have you ever opened a…who’s this? You buy shirts, and it says Inspector 15. Who is Inspector 15? The same guy who coming to understand who the level of the shaykh is. He’s Inspector 15. It’s not our business to understand the level of the shaykh.
You are the One Blocking Yourself From Your Own Reality
Our business, in this cabin, is to understand who you’re. If you find someone teaching of those realities, then take a life in which to understand, ‘Ya Rabbi, I want to learn, I want to learn about myself, I want to negate myself, I want to reach towards a reality.’ They begin to teach you a deep way of tafakkur, contemplation, to be nothing. Negate yourself completely.
It’s yourself that blocking every haqaiq (reality). Because when you look out this vista and this window, these are only for analogies to understand. How can you explain a haqaiq? When they’re on that gondola and they’re looking out, if they look with the eyes of their self, is of no value because the self is the problem. The self will have the wrong interpretation of everything it sees.
Strive to Be the Dust Under the Feet of Prophet ﷺ
So, then the first way was based on: be nothing, be nothing, be nothing. I’m nothing, ya Rabbi, I’m nothing. Sing…’Oh, I wish that I was a thing, non existent.’
(Surat Maryam)
“…She cried (in her anguish): Oh, I wish I had died before this! and I was a thing forgotten and out of sight!” (Mary, 19:23)
Every night, they make their tafakkur. Every night, they contemplate. Ya Rabbi, I’m nothing, I’m nothing. If I’m nothing, ya Rabbi, I want to be with them. Dress me from their light, dress me from their blessings. Ya Rabbi, let me just to be like a speck of dust in their pocket. Let me to be a speck of dust at the feet of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Their way, the footstep and the footprint of Prophet ﷺ upon them, to show their nafs (ego) and to show themself; to show Allah (AJ) all we want is to be dust under the feet of Prophet ﷺ.
When You Believe You’re Nothing, Your Reality Begins to Appear
Ya Rabbi, let me to be nothing. Deflate myself and who I think I am. As soon as you make your tafakkur (contemplation), they’ll teach you. Then visualize that you’re with them. As much as you can see their light on you, as much as you’re reaching towards your nothingness. As much as you see yourself, as much as the self is there, the nafs (ego) is there.
So, in this way, it’s to be nothing. I’m nothing, I’m nothing. Then, you begin to see: if you’re nothing, it’s like you’re vanishing. Like a transparency, you become transparent in which you vanish and their reality begins to appear.
Have the Good Character of Ashab al Kahf
As a result, you’re entering into their fana (annihilation). So, you kept the muhabbat and the love to bring you into their gondola. Once you’re in their gondola, you negate yourself. I’m nothing, I’m nothing, I’m nothing. With all the teachings from Ashab al Kahf, have good character, have patience because this gondola is going at such a height and such a reality that you have never heard these things before.
Especially those who come new say, ‘I’ve never heard these things before.’ Of course not. You shouldn’t have because these are going into deep realities. This is not going, driving around the backyard. You’re going into deep realities of the heavens in which you negate and take a life in which I know nothing. At every step, I know nothing. Ya Rabbi, Ilm al Mazeed, give me more. Ya Rabbi, give me more.
Negate Your Ego Until You Become Transparent
So, then as much as you empty your cup, as much as Allah (AJ) gives more. So, the student negates themself. How to know that they’re negating? It’s when they enter their tafakkur (contemplation), do they see themselves very present? It means then the nafs (ego) is there, very strong. As much as they can become transparent, transparent, transparent until they see nothing, but the teachers are there.
The masters are there, the awliyaullah (saints) are there. That their being is the one that is operating. They’re taking them to the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ until their love of Prophet ﷺ. Then they begin to enter the same relationship in which they enter into the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That journey is in that reality. That Islam brings them into the good characteristics.
Learn the Manners in the Cave; Take Your Ship to Where Holy Qur’an Emanates
As soon as this gondola starts to head into the second month, its moving into the realities of the Cave. The Cave is the location of where this is going to end. This is going to be in the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. So, then in this Cave, you have to be taught all the manners. As soon as this docks and this ship lands, you’re landing in the Manzil e Quran, in the location in which the Holy Qur’an is emanating.
Beware of your character. Beware of your understanding. Beware of how you hold yourself. You’re going into the presence of the most beloved creation of Allah (AJ), the sultan (king) of all the malakut (heavenly realm) and mulk (earthly realm). So, of course he has to be based on manners. Then teach, don’t argue. Don’t have bad character. Don’t yell, don’t do these things. Because if you do that with us, you’re going to do with Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, astaghfirullahul azeem.
12 Tajallis Dress the Inhabitants of the Earth
So, everything would be based on training, training. As soon as that gondola passes the 2nd month, its now into the reality of the 3rd month and the reality of 3 which has to do with the soul and the world of light. Then you take the Muhammadan App, there’s a section called Months. This gives us the understanding of these 12 stations of this gondola, the 12 months that dress our reality.
That’s why it’s signified by the sun hits the moon. The lights from the sun is dressing this Earth. 12 of these tajjalis (manifestations) are dressing the inhabitants of the Earth because all this creation is moving in that reality. All this creation is moving in that reality where Allah (AJ) described the Earth is like an orbit. It’s a ship. It’s moving in an orbit. It has a course in which its taking.
21:33 – “Wa hu wal ladhee khalaqal layla wan Nahara, wash Shamsa wal Qamara, kullun fee falakin yasbahoon.” (Surat Al-Anbiya)
“And He (is) The One Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each swimming in an orbit.” (The Prophets, 21:33)
Rabi’ul Awwal is the Month of Sayyidina Muhammad’s ﷺ Birth
From more of the understanding, those whom Allah (AJ) want to grant them higher realities, they enter onto these gondolas. In the gondolas, they have training. They have all sorts of understandings. Once this hits the 3rd month, then the understanding of 9 x 3 is Rab’ul Awwal. This is the month of the Holy Birth of the reality of the sultanate (kingdom) of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
This physicality, this world of light that is so immense, Allah (AJ) bringing the physicality upon this Earth as a doorway into that reality. It’s the celebration of Islam by the physical arrival of Prophet ﷺ. It’s the celebration of Holy Qur’an because Manzil e Quran. The one whom going to be revealing Holy Qur’an that is revealing now, to all universes and has eternally been revealing, but now coming onto this Earth to bring Allah’s (AJ) Kitab (book).
Prophet ﷺ Was Sent as a Mercy to All Creation (Holy Qur’an, 21:107)
When Allah (AJ) described, “Wa maa arsalnaka illa Rahmatan lil ‘aalameen”, ‘I wouldn’t have sent it, but that this Earth was in need of the rahmah (mercy) that Prophet ﷺ brings upon its arrival to the Earth.’
21:107 – “Wa maa arsalnaka illa Rahmatal lil’alameen.” (Surat Al-Anbiya)
“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad (pbuh)], except as a mercy to the worlds/creation.” (The Prophets, 21:107)
So, that 9 x 3 is the secret of 27. So, then this is the secret of the months. The 3rd lunar month is the secret of 27. It means the king of the heavens is born upon this Earth. This secret of 27 is like a gate. That’s why Isra wal Miraj (Night Journey and Ascension) is a gate towards the heavens, is on the 27th. Laylat ul Qadr (Night of Power) is a night in which to receive the powers of the Holy Qur’an brought to us by Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ on the 27th. So, a tremendous gate.
27th Ismullah: Al-Basir, The All-Seeing;
27th Ismur Rasul: Al-Mudathir, The One Whom Shows Patience Through Tyranny
Then, awliyaullah (saints) come and teach that to get the understanding of this baab, this gate that we’re moving through, Mudathir, the One Whom Shows Patience Through Tyranny; the 27th name of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, through Dala’il Khayrat. The 27th name of Allah (AJ) that will be opening by the name of Prophet ﷺ, The Seer of All, Al Basir.
So, it means that this heavenly kingdom, at each one of them, you can begin to meditate. So, they’re on this 3rd month, Sifat al Basir is opening. Sifat al Basir, that you’re asking, ‘Ya Rabbi, make me from Ahlul Basirah, that my heart to be open.’ Then they teaching that if you want Basir to open, then Sayyidina Mudathir ﷺ has to be the one whom opening. That the name of Prophet ﷺ has to open that reality.
Rabi’ul Awwal Carries Surah An-Naml, the Story of Sayyidina Suleiman (as)
The 27th Surah of Holy Qur’an, Surat an Naml. The hijab (veil) of the month is the praisings that say “Subhana Man Huwa Da’imun la Yaqta”, ‘Glory be to the One whom his perpetual and who never dies.’
“Subhana man huwa da’im, la yaqta”
“Glory be to Him who is perpetual, who never ends”
That this has to do with the secret of the soul which is Hayyu al Qayyum. I mean, at every moment and every reality, how this trip is moving into that reality? How our journey is moving into that reality? When they begin to read from Holy Qur’an, Surat an Naml, is the story of Sayyidina Suleiman (as).
Sayyidina Suleiman (as) was Given All Authority of the Earthly Realm
The importance of Surah 27 is that it shows the mulk (earthly realm) and the kingdom that Allah (AJ) had given to Sayyidina Suleiman (as). Why? Because our king is very humble because Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ didn’t want to show this izzah (might) upon Earth. [He] Didn’t want to show what authority He has ﷺ upon the Earth.
So, understood that if I show it through Sayyidina Suleiman (as), then you should be able to understand that reality. So, awliyaullah (saints) come into our lives and to teach: when you read Surat an Naml and the reality of what Allah (AJ) gave to Sayyidina Suleiman (as), gave a mulk (earthly realm) and all authority of this mulk to Sayyidina Suleiman (as); gave the command of the wind; gave the speaking to the birds; gave the understanding of every creature to Sayyidina Suleiman (as).
Sayyidina Suleiman (as) Could Even Hear the Ants Communicating (Holy Qur’an, 27:18)
Just for us to understand – when you don’t understand the reality of Prophet ﷺ, say no, no, who can do like that – then you’re not reading the Qur’an. Allah (AJ) gave to Sayyidina Suleiman (as). Where is Sayyidina Suleiman in comparison to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ? Allah (AJ) saying to Sayyidina Suleiman (as), he could hear the birds. He was talking to them. He could command the wind. That they come, he was riding upon them.
Even to the voice of the ant where Allah (AJ) said in the surah (chapter) that the ant screamed out, ‘All ants, everybody into your home. The armies of Sayyidina Suleiman (as) are moving.’ Sayyidina Suleiman (as) took entertainment in that and laughed when he heard that the speech of the ant.
27:18 – “Hattaa izaa ataw ‘alaa waadin namli qaalat namlatun yaa ayyuhan namlud khuloo masaakinakum laa yahtimannakum Sulaimaanu wa junoodu hoo wa hum laa yash’uroon.” (Surat An Naml)
“Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, “O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not.” (The Ant, 27:18)
Awliya are the Inheritors of the Prophets
What Allah (AJ) and Prophet ﷺ described: that my awliya, my ulema, Waris al Anbiya, they’re the inheritors of the prophets of Bani Isra’il.
‘An Abi Darda (ra) qala, qala Rasulullahi (pbuh): “Al ‘Ulama ye warasatul Anbiya.” [Riyad As Saliheen, 1388)
Narrated by Abi Darda (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “My scholars are the inheritors of the prophets.” [Riyad As Saliheen 1388)
So, when awliya come and say they can hear an ant moving, Allah (AJ) has the daleel (proof) in the Qur’an. Sayyidina Suleiman (as) heard the ants. They can command the wind. Allah (AJ) says Sayyidina Suleiman (as) commanded the wind. They can hear the birds and the tasbeeh of creatures and animals and they can communicate with them. That the bird can come and talk to them and tell them what it’s seeing. It means unimaginable what Allah (AJ) has opened for this creation; all of that under the power of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Nabi Musa (as) Approached the Fire to Find Guidance (Holy Qur’an, 20:10)
So, when we reciting in this month or reading in this month, we’re understanding that Mawlid an Nabi ﷺ is an immense celebration, immense reality for what Allah (AJ) is opening upon this Earth. What type of king, Allah (AJ), what He gave of realities to this holy king. The command of everything in this creation is under that reality. One of the qissahs (stories) of Sayyidina Musa (as) and moving towards Allah (AJ), by seeing a fire. It means every story surat an Naml is about this reality of this 27th month.
So, each one you read, you sit and meditate on one of the analogies and the stories of Sayyidina Musa (as) having to see Allah (AJ), which was a diya (fire), was a burning bush. [It] Was taught that before, in previous years, what he saw Allah (AJ) as a burning bush and the word that Allah (AJ) uses in Holy Qur’an is diya. There is not a nur. It’s not a reflection, but diya is a source of light. It’s a fire, a naar. That he saw Allah (AJ) at that fire and he told his family that, ‘I have to go towards that fire.’
20:10 – “Iz ra aa naaran faqaala li ahlihim kusooo inneee aanastu naaral la’alleee aateekum minhaa biqabasin aw ajidu ‘alan naari hudaa” (Surat Taha)
‘When he saw a fire and said to his family, “Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance.”’ (Taha, 20:10)
Guides Take Souls on a Perfected Course Into the Heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
