أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ. Madad ya Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem, Ya Habibul ‘Azeem, unzur halana wa ishfa’lana, ‘abidona bi madadikum wa nazarekum.

Atiullah wa atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum. Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.

أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُم… ﴿٥٩﴾‏ …

4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)

“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)

Dhul Qi’dah is the 11^th Lunar Month With the Dress of Surah Zalzalah

Alhamdulillah, Haji Shahid can recite Surat Zalzalah. That on this eleventh lunar month and the reality of 9, Allah (AJ) released for us these nine verses, eight verses and one “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem.” The immense power of this holy surah (chapter) and on the reality of the mirror and Allah (AJ) linking that with Surat Zalzalah, inshaAllah.

Reciter: “A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem. Izaa zul zilatil ardu zil zaalaha. Wa akh rajatil ardu athqaalaha. Wa qaalal insaanu ma laha. Yawmaa izin tuhaddithu akhbaaraha. Bi-anna rabbaka awhaa laha. Yawma iziny yas durun naasu ash tatal liyuraw a’maalahum. Famaiy ya’mal mithqala zarratin khai raiy-yarah. Wa maiy-y’amal mithqala zarratin sharraiy-yarah”. SadaqAllahul Aliyyil ‘Azim.

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا ﴿١﴾‏ وَأَخْرَجَتِ الْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا ﴿٢﴾‏ وَقَالَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا لَهَا ﴿٣﴾‏ ‏ يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا ﴿٤﴾‏ بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا ﴿٥﴾‏ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا أَعْمَالَهُمْ ﴿ ٦﴾‏ فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ ﴿٧﴾‏ وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ ﴿٨﴾‏

99:1-8 – “Izaa zul zilatil ardu zil zaalaha. Wa akh rajatil ardu athqaalaha. Wa qaalal insaanu ma laha. Yawmaa izin tuhaddithu akhbaaraha. Bi-anna rabbaka awhaa laha. Yawma iziny yas durun naasu ash tatal liyuraw a’maalahum. Famaiy ya’mal mithqala zarratin khai raiy-yarah. Wa maiy-y’amal mithqala zarratin sharraiy-yarah”. (Surat az-Zalzalah)

“When the earth is shaken with her (final) earthquake. (1) And the earth discharges its burdens (from within) (2) And man cries (distressed): ‘What is the matter with her?’- (3) On that Day will she declare her tidings: (4) For that thy Lord will have given her inspiration. (5) On that Day will men proceed in companies sorted out, to be shown the deeds that they (had done). (6) Then shall anyone who has done an atom’s weight of good, see it! (7) And anyone who has done an atom’s weight of evil, shall see it. (8)” (The Earthquake, 99:1-8)

The Earth Represents Humanity, the Moon is Guidance and the Sun is the Prophetic Light

SadaqAllahul ‘Azim wa barakah Rasulul Kareem (Most Generous Messenger). A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem. ‘And when the earth is shaken with its earthquaking and the earth and she discharges her burdens and mankind will ask of it, ‘What’s wrong with her? And the day will report its news because your Lord has commended it on a day when people will depart into groups and they’ll be shown their deeds and whoever has an atom weight of good will see it and whoever has a atom weight of evil will see it.’ SadaqAllahul ‘Azim wa barakah Rasulul Kareem.

Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen. That awliyaullah (saints) come into our lives and describe on this way of ma’rifah (gnosticism) that the Earth represents us and represents humanity. That the moon represents the guidance and the sun represents the prophetic light and that these three elements and our place within this spiritual path.

Our Eternal Journey is Through Twelve Veils of Light

That this Earth of ours, Allah (AJ) will show you upon the horizon and within ourselves.

﴾سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا فِي الْآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنفُسِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ ۗ … ﴿٥٣

41:53 – “Sanureehim ayatina fil afaqi wa fee anfusihim hatta yatabayyana lahum annahu alhaqqu…” (Surat Al-Fussilat)

“We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth…” (Explained in Detail, 41:53)

So, when we meditate and contemplate, we also look and meditate upon the horizon because Allah (AJ) is giving to us a guidance that the horizon is easier for people to understand sometimes because they don’t want to look inside and maybe worried about what they’ll find.

As soon as this journey ends on the 11th month or enters into the 11th month, that this immense mirror is going to reflect because 12 is the perfection, is the pilgrimage, is the hajj in which 12 months, like a cycle, to reach a perfection and to reach this cycle. Then again begins on the first month of Muharram. The journey is an eternal journey. But we are moving through these 12 veils of light eternally. When we reach to the 11th, Allah (AJ) is giving for us because the Qur’an commands the Earth.

Our Burdens are Too Much for the Earth in These Last Days

It means everything of Allah’s (AJ) speech commands all of creation. For the inhabitants of Earth who don’t want to look inside Allah’s (AJ) warning, that on the month of zalzalah that when an earthquake comes, the Earth doesn’t want to carry burdens of humanity. That the burdens become too much as we’re entering into the last days and nothing wants to carry humans.

The Earth does not want to carry the burdens of what people do upon it and thinking that they’re not seen by God. That they don’t know the evil they do, that it’s seen. The Earth is describing and Allah’s (AJ) describing, ‘No, that she will throw and cast everything out.’ As soon as Allah (AJ) gives the command that, ‘You can cast’ because they’re all complaining to Allah (AJ). All creation is complaining. All of nature is complaining that, ‘These humans that You favour, they are destroying everything. They are abusing everything. They are of a burden and oppressing themselves and everything.’

The Earth Quakes Under the Weight of Human Oppression

It means this is the exterior and the Earth will cast its burdens out. When it begins to convulse and convulse with everything that comes – it means every time there’s an earthquake, there’s too many burdens on Earth and it shoots everything out. It’s disgusted by it and it wants to do it sooner, but it has to wait for the isharat (sign) and the command from Allah (AJ). That, ‘Okay, don’t carry any more.’

When it doesn’t want to, it begins to shake as if wanting to swallow all of humanity. It means that these are the signs of burdens. When oppression and burdens are too much in an area, they begin to quake and the whole reality of quaking means all of the testing, all of the shaking. Everything in our life because if the earth is symbolic of ourselves, then everything is quaking. With every contraction, it means every quaking is a squeezing. After the squeezing will become an expansion because when the Earth releases after contraction, the expansion means it releases the burden. It throws it out.

Our Reality Emerges When Our Soul is Squeezed

Within ourselves means that every contraction, every difficulty, every testing that comes, our bodies are continuously contracted because the tajalli (manifestation) and the tajalli of that reality that, it’s a haybah (majestic power). It’s a very majestic energy from Allah (AJ) that sends upon a person and humanity that begins to squeeze them. Then Allah (AJ) give for us that, ‘What’s hidden within the person will begin to come out.’

It means then the realities and the soul and its realities, Allah (AJ) wants the quaking of insan and people, humanity, so that the reality of their soul can begin to come out. For those whom their atom weight is good, then this month becomes a month in which they can see its goodness. Allah (AJ) give to the smallest understanding because the atom, they didn’t have that expression at that time, but they would use the small ants, Mawlana Shaykh (Q) would describe. That there’s an ant that’s so tiny, very, very tiny and that was their example that they would give that something so tiny, if done good, Allah’s (AJ) writing that goodness.

Allah’s (AJ) Quaking Shows Us What is Upon Our Soul, Good or Bad

That’s why the deeds to be good, the actions to be good because every goodness that we do, Allah (AJ) gives us ten times that award. So, that they inspire within us: do these goods because on these journeys that we’re going, Allah (AJ) will always be quaking. Allah’s (AJ) opening the physicality to bring out the realities that we have been dressed upon by our actions and our deeds and our love. What Allah (AJ) has multiplied upon them, on the soul, He wants to bring out all their goodness.

That those whom are doing their bad, Allah (AJ) will also bring out that this is the badness of your character so that when it comes out, they have the ability to ask Allah’s (AJ) forgiveness. Even when the bad comes out, Allah (AJ) is giving them that, ‘Do you see this badness? Then ask for forgiveness and correct oneself from badness and move towards the oceans of goodness.’

We Entered This World Through Contractions and Quaking

The immensity of that being on the month of 11 because of the Divinely mirror that Allah (AJ) wants to dress from the Divinely Presence, these realities upon the soul. These realities upon the soul can’t be understood until the physicality is brought down, hence the quaking.

Even we came into this world with a human body that was continuously contracting because the womb of the mother is in a contraction. As a result of contracting, then brings out the birth of the child. So, it means that everything is quaking. Everything is shaking. Everything is continuously squeezing and that after difficulty comes ease. After difficulty comes ease.

﴾فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ﴿٥﴾ إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ﴿٦

94:5-6 – “Fa inna ma’al usri yusra. (5) Inna ma’al ‘usri yusra. (6)” (Surat Ash-Sharh)

“So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief. (5) Verily, with every difficulty there is relief. (6)” (The Relief, 94:5-6)

Our Qurban is a Tremendous Ransom (Holy Qur’an, 37:107)

But that Allah (AJ) wants something. Allah (AJ) wants the beauty of the soul, the perfection of the soul. That’s why that these are 11 months moving towards the oceans of goodness. That, that Hajj is a month in which everybody makes intention. That, ‘Ya Rabbi, my intention is for my hajj (pilgrimage) to have an audience with Your Divinely kingdom, to be granted to reach to ‘Arafah, to reach to that reality, to be dressed by the perfection of our faith.’

That’s why then we talked the other night that all of the symbols of hajj are the completions of faith until we reach towards the qurban (sacrifice). Then Allah (AJ) gives for us that the qurban was an immense sacrifice, immense blessing. That whatever the servant didn’t achieve from Allah’s (AJ) rida and satisfaction, that the qurban takes that difficulty from the servant. As a result, they become purified. That creature carries the burden and the servant then is dressed by Allah’s (AJ) satisfaction. That’s what Allah (AJ) describes, ‘It was a tremendous ransom.’

﴾وَفَدَيْنَاهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿١٠٧

37:107 – “Wa fadainaahu bizibhin ‘azeem” (Surat As-Saffat)

“And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice” (Those Who Set the Ranks, 37:107)

Even Your Small Qurban is Immense

It means that instead of punishing at the end of the finish line, that we reached to the pilgrimage. Now Allah (AJ) then punish the servant, but He says that, ‘My mercy outdoes My wrath.’ Everywhere we look is the mercy of Allah (AJ), the mercy of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, mercy of awliyaullah (saints) teaching us that at every turn and at every corner, Allah (AJ) is dressing and blessing us. Allah (AJ) is trying the best to perfect us and that’s so that we run towards His Divinely love and run towards His Divinely Presence. That, ‘In the finish line, don’t worry that if you think it’s not going to be complete. It’s not going to be perfected. It’s not going to be great. I gave to you a tremendous ransom.’

It means the qurban (sacrifice) that you do is not something small whether you make for qurban on an egg, you make a qurban on a chicken, you make a qurban and getting a sandwich and giving it to the poor if that’s the extent of your qurban. But, ‘With that intention, ya Rabbi, I’m asking to reach towards Your pilgrimage. I’m reaching towards Your rida and satisfaction that that You’re…You’ll be satisfied and forgive me my wrong…my wrong deeds and accept from me these qurban. That take my burdens away from me and my badness away from me and perfect and purify me so that this 12 months of moving into Your pilgrimage to be dressed and to be blessed.’

Allah (AJ) Reveals Himself Through His Mirror, Prophet ﷺ

We speak about it now because as soon as we enter into Dhul Hajj, everybody misses it. Say, ‘Oh, why you didn’t tell us about Salatul Kaffarah of Ramadan? Ramadan, oh, we passed it. We missed that one salah (daily prayer) that would have been a thousand years of salah.’ So, we talked about it earlier so that people don’t miss these opportunities and these blessings. We pray that Allah (AJ) inspire us.

We’ve talked on the deepness of the Divine mirror. The deep and the depth of “La ilaha illAllah” that can’t be seen. Anybody who wishes to reach to that reality, Allah (AJ) gave to us “Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ”. When we run to that reality, when we love that reality more than we love ourselves, Allah (AJ) will reveal Himself through the reality of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ and that understanding of Zulfiqar (sword of Imam Ali (as)). That’s the understanding of 11. That’s the understanding, the secret that Prophet ﷺ gave to Imam Ali (as) and all these holy companions. That, ‘You hold the secret of my laam-alif. It means you know my relationship. You know the secret of alif and you know the secret of laam.’ As a result, they hold the laam-alif at the base where there’s a Hu. They hold that reality of La ilaha illAllah and the reality of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ.

Exercise Self-Discipline to Absorb the Teachings

Bringing people towards that reality, inspiring with them that if you want to reach La ilaha illAllah, then you must first go to the door of Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. As a result of that ishq and that love for Prophet ﷺ, they will meet the reality of La ilaha illAllah that cannot be witnessed on heavens or on Earth, but except the heart of His servant, Muhammadun Rasulallah ﷺ. We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us by the immensities of these realities and that to have a life on which we sit and contemplate. That when we watch the videos, sit and contemplate. Take some notes. Busy schedules and slow down the busy schedule and then take a life in which we can slow down and contemplate these realities and not let life move so fast that we become distracted. All those distractions don’t mean anything to Allah (AJ).

Allah (AJ) ask the servant, ‘What did you do with the time that was given to you, the money that was given to you, the access to realities that were given to you?’ We can’t come back and say, ‘We were busy with dunya (material world).’ It means that everyone has to have a discipline within themselves to find a time to understand, to learn, to be a student of the way, to meditate, contemplate and continuously revive their heart with these energies and with these blessings, inshaAllah. That Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us and that the nazar (gaze) of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ to be upon us, inshaAllah.
