Al Kawthar: The Fountain of Divine Abundance
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ٱلْرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُم… ﴿٥٩﴾ …
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Dhul Hijjah Holds the Secret of Surat Al-Kawthar
Alhamdulillah, that Allah (AJ) grant us a life in which to see the ten holy days of Dhul Hijjah, the 12th month in this way of ma’rifah (gnosticism). 12 x 9 is the secret of Surat Al-Kawthar. That this is the month and the realities of the Kawthari realities of paradise, the Kawthari (people dressed from the Fountain of Abundance) souls, the Kawthari knowledges and the path of the Ahlul Kawthar, the people whom they sustain their souls from that reality.
Holy Qur’an guiding, we described last week, that this is the inheritance that separates us from Bani Israel (children of Israel). This is the way of Sayyidina Isma’il (as) and all the prophets (as) of Bani Israel. Now the path moves towards the Muhammadan haqqaiq (realities). With the advent of the arrival of Sayyidina Isma’il (as), “Fasali li rabbika wanhar.”
﴾فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ ﴿٢
108:2 – “Fasali li rabbika wanhar. ” (Surat Al-Kawthar)
“So pray to your Lord and Sacrifice.” (The Abundance, 108:2)
The Kawthar is the Highest Fountain of Knowledge We Can Achieve
The Ahlul Kawthar are appearing upon this Earth to show the Magnificent and Munificence of Allah’s (AJ) dress upon his khalifa (representative) and the reality and the lights of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That Allah (AJ) granting this reality and this is our hijrah (migration). Every 12 months is a hijrah and movement and pilgrimage to the holy Kawthar. “Inna ‘atayna kal kawthar. Fasali li rabbika wanhar.”
﴾إِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ الْكَوْثَرَ ﴿١﴾ فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ ﴿٢
108:1-2 – “Inna ‘atayna kal kawthar. (1) Fasali li rabbika wanhar. (2) ” (Surat Al-Kawthar)
“To thee (O Muhammad) we have granted the Fount (of Abundance). (1) So pray to your Lord and Sacrifice. (2)” (The Abundance, 108:1-3)
‘Pray onto your lord and sacrifice. That have We not given you the fountains of the Kawthar, kathiran.’ It means that the fountains of abundance, fountains of knowledges, the source of every reality and the reality of every source that can’t be understood and can’t be limited, can’t be contained, but is the highest fountain in which our lives are to achieve. This is the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. These are from the Ahlul Bayt (Holy Family) of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and the holy Companions of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ who are the vessels and containers of this reality, drawing creation to the highest possible achievement that Allah (AJ) wants upon their Divinely souls for all of eternity.
Cut the Vices of Your Lower Authorities in Order to Reach the Highest Authority
The first levels of Qur’an from Surah Fatiha to the 12th Surah is Surah Yusuf. This is the beatific veils in which the servant is traversing. The path of awliya (saints) is from Surah Tawbah to Surah Al-Kawthar in which they’re to live a “Fasali li rabbika wanhar.” (Holy Qur’an, 108:2) That pray unto your lord, continuously pray unto your lord. “Rabbika” and that’s when it becomes necessary in life to understand that pray onto your authority. That which governs you or that which is trying to control you.
That to understand the authorities that control you and hold you down and the authorities of paradise and eternal realities that wish to support and uplift us, “wanhar” – and sacrifice. It means that when we understand the reality of “wanhar” and sacrifice is that to sacrifice and cut out the authorities of our lower dimension. It means the one whom is trying to achieve the nearness to the rab (Lord) and to the authority Most High, first has to cut the vices of the lower authorities because the shaitans (satan) can be rab over people.
Kawthari People Don’t Allow Shaitan to Overtake Them
Shaitan can be a rab over somebody by the vices, the desires and the characters in which they allow to remain. Allah (AJ) is giving to us this example of Kawthari people is their life is to continuously pray – “Fasali li rabbika wanhar” – pray unto your lord and the realities of madad (support). That pray unto your authorities. That ask for their madad and support from the higher and the heavenly authorities and to come against and sacrifice yourself against your lower characteristics.
It means that to sacrifice ourself and abstain from people emailing that, ‘I want to quit smoking.’ Alhamdulillah, this is a great jihad (struggle). This is a great fight to know that shaitan has something that he holds on you and that you can’t dismiss it. This is a fight, this is a fight. This is not a fight to yell at people, scream at people, fight with people.
Our Greatest Jihad is With Ourselves, Not Others
The greatest fight is the one who fights against their own self and their own characteristics. This becomes the reality of Kawthari souls in which they want to achieve. They want to achieve the higher paradises and the higher fountains of reality, but they’re being chained by the lower desires. So, how can a man or how can a creation be free to worship their Lord when their heart is bound by the vices and desires of the lower self? So, this Kawthar becomes a symbol for them. “Fasali li rabbika wanhar”.
If you continuously pray and this becomes the immensity of the madad (support). When we pray, it’s not…I don’t know, it’s a verb or adverb or…it’s not an action that we just make a du’a (supplication), but this prayer is a continuous process of the madad. That when we are praying, we’re asking. We’re asking for continuous support. We’re asking for their holy nazar (gaze). We’re asking for the dress and the tajalli (manifestation) and the lights to reach for us so that this battle can be won against the lower self, lower desires and the bad characteristics that are held under the authority of shayateen (devils).
Start By Coming Against Your Bad Desires to Serve in Allah’s (AJ) Way
Only those who truly understand and continuously live a life of sacrificing and coming against their bad desires, then Allah (AJ) grant them to have access towards the heavenly authorities in which again, “Fasali li rabbika wanhar.” That when they pray unto them and they sacrifice the bad, then they continuously, even towards the heavens, begin to sacrifice everything for the sake of Allah (AJ). It means that if they have a time and they choose between leisure time or ‘ibadah (worship) or for service or for khidmat, their life is continuously, they will make a sacrifice and they’ll serve Allah (AJ).
All their lives, they sacrificed and served. They sacrifice time from their families. They sacrifice time from many different things for the sake of trying to please Allah (AJ) and please Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and to gain the nazar of awliyaullah fis samayi wa fil ard (in the heavens and on earth). As a result, Allah (AJ): “Fasali li rabbika wanhar. Inna shani-aka huwal abtar.” ‘And that We have cut your enemies off from you.’
﴾فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ ﴿٢﴾ إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الْأَبْتَرُ ﴿٣
108:2-3 – “Fasali li rabbika wanhar. (2) Inna shani-aka huwal abtar. (3)” (Surat Al-Kawthar)
“So pray to your Lord and Sacrifice. (2) Indeed, your enemy is the one cut off. (3)” (The Abundance, 108:1-3)
You Cannot Simply Walk Away From Shaitan, You Must Sacrifice
Allah (AJ) doesn’t cut your enemies off from you just because you asked. We described before that when, and people know that when they were involved with shayateen, you can’t walk away from them. Whether they were gangs, whether they were bad people, whether they were vices, whether they were just an evilness, you don’t have the ability to say, ‘I’m leaving’. As soon as you think you’re going to leave, they find you. They call you. They have some way of getting a hold of you. People come and say, ‘Shaykh, I don’t know what this is. These people keep coming. These people come call me. These people try to reach me.’
Because this is the reality. You don’t just walk away from shaitan because you decided to. This is when Allah’s (AJ) great mercy, great gift, “Fasali li rabbika wanhar.” They pray continuously unto their lord. They do their madad (support), they do their khidmat (service), they do everything. They live a life of continuous sacrificing. They sacrifice from the rizq (sustenance) they get. They go out and they give charity. They sacrifice from the leisure time. They go out and they serve that time. They sacrifice everything in their life. [It] Doesn’t have to be excessive, but their life is not the minimum.
Are You Showing Gratefulness in Your Daily Actions?
Other people think ‘I came to Islam’ and what did you do? ‘I went for Jum’ah (Friday prayer)’. Oh, and? And? And? ‘No, I went for Jum’ah.’ Okay. That, that doesn’t show that we’re grateful to Allah (AJ). It means our life is this gift Allah (AJ) has given to us is to show gratefulness. So, what can I do with my life, my breath, my time, my family, my ability so that to gain God Almighty’s attention, and the attention and the vision and the gaze and support of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ? All the holy prophets, all the holy souls to keep the company of their holiness and righteousness upon this Earth and in the heavens.
This was a life of immense service and discipline. As a result, “Inna shani-aka huwal abtar.” As a result, Allah (AJ) cut them from us. ‘I will cut them from you’. The bad people give a very bad interpretation of Surat Al-Kawthar because these are hizbul shaitan (party of satan). But this in reference to realities to reach, to live a life of sacrifice, understand who is your authority. What governs you from the world of demons and your vices to what are the authorities of the heavens? That ask for prayers. Pray to them. Pray for help and support. That their nazar be upon you, their support to be reaching upon you.
Allah (AJ) Veils You From Negativity When He Accepts Your Inner Battle
When Allah (AJ) finds acceptance in the battle of the lower demons, He begins to open the door towards the Heavenly realities, angelic and saintly realities of support. “Inna shani-aka huwal abtar.” ‘And We will cut all of your enemies from you’. It means they don’t have a hand in which to reach. They don’t have an ability which to reach, and immense realities of Allah (AJ) taking from the eyesight of shaitan, not to even see you. He may look, but he doesn’t see the servant because Allah (AJ) has veiled him.
﴾إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الْأَبْتَرُ ﴿٣
108:3 – “Inna shani-aka huwal abtar.” (Surat Al-Kawthar)
“Indeed, your enemy is the one cut off.” (The Abundance, 108:3)
So, this is an immense reality – to achieve the Kawthar (The Fountain of Abundance). Otherwise, how can people drink from the Kawthar, bathe in the Kawthar, absorb their souls into the realities of the Holy Kawthar if they’re under the vice and the grabbing of shayateen? That they momentarily think they can get away and shaitan grab them back into the ocean of fitna and confusion, only to allow them to steal from the Kawthars and come back? No. So, this is a lifelong struggle.
Kawthari People Live a Life of Service to the Nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
The Hajj (pilgrimage) opens the symbol of Sayyidina Isma’il (as), of struggle. That not only the people whom they gave property, they should have achieved that in life. That these are the Kawthari people in which they gave. They gave of their dunya (material world), they gave of their time, they gave of their efforts, they gave of their skills. Now Allah (AJ) asks them give the greatest gift that you can give: give yourself. That live a life of service and to be of service to the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. As a result of this Kawthari character, they are the inheritors of the Kawthari knowledges and the Kawthari lights. Because this is the symbol of their kholoq (character).
How can they be from the Kawthar? How can they dispense the Kawthar upon this Earth if they don’t exhibit that reality, “Fasali li rabbika wanhar”? That they don’t pray unto their authorities. They don’t ask from their authorities and they don’t live a life of sacrifice? That’s why when we follow the shaykhs and follow the guides and follow their life, we see that the level in which their life was committed and is committed. They live a life of service and have lived a life of service for the 30, 40, 50 years.
These Heavenly Teachings are Not From This Dimension
As a result, the ‘uloom and the knowledges that come down are not like regular knowledges. Every drop of that knowledge that taken in by the student is like a sustenance. That if we equate into the world of light, that somebody giving a free buffet. But a buffet from paradise in which you would eat it physically, then people would understand and say, ‘Oh, we go there. We eat it, just amazing.’ But this is for the people of the world of light in which they understand the knowledges in which they hear and they learn is not from this dimension. These are from the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. They’re Hayyul Qayyum (The Ever-Living and Self-Sustaining).
Your Soul Changes When You Contemplate These Divinely Knowledges
That just by the act of hearing the knowledges, then they begin to write the knowledges. They even go higher into the contemplation of the knowledges. Their souls are changing. Their souls are being sustained by an ocean that can’t be understood. That has every dress and every letter of being taught has an eternal dress upon the soul for all of eternity. Allah (AJ) opening for them on this dunya (material world) to be drinking from the Kawthar.
As soon as they hear the knowledges, watch the knowledges, partake in the knowledges, they are drinking the Kawthar. As soon as they write and listen and meditate, they’re bathing in the Kawthar because the soul is taking its haqqaiqs (realities). We only bring the donkey of the physicality to discipline, to hear it, to write from it, to meditate upon it. But the soul immediately moves within it, goes back into the source of where knowledge is coming from. Prophet ﷺ described anyone whom a believer sleeps with wudu (ablution) is under ‘Arsh ar Rahman (Throne of The Most Compassionate). What do you think then, under the throne of Ar-Rahman (The Most Compassionate)?
Your Only Limit to Reach Deep Oceans of Realities is Yourself
It means the Throne of the Divinely Presence, but coming with knowledges, coming from the soul saying, ‘I’ve heard these realities. My Lord, allow me to swim and to bask in that reality.’ This is the greatness of Allah’s (AJ) gift. As soon as the souls hear these realities, wash and make wudu (ablution) for sleep, their sleep becomes a tremendous ‘ibadah and worshipness for them. Their souls are diving within the oceans, “Inna ‘atayna kal kawthar.”
﴾إِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ الْكَوْثَرَ ﴿١
108:1 – “Inna ‘atayna kal kawthar” (Surat Al-Kawthar)
“To thee (O Muhammad) we have granted the Fount (of Abundance)” (The Abundance)
It means that the fountains of abundance in which there is no front, there’s no back, there’s no right and there’s no left. There’s no end to the shore of this reality in which the knowledges and Divine grace never end and not any limit can be achieved. Only the limitation of the servant limits the servant in the ocean of that reality. That’s why they teach: say you’re nothing. Ya Rabbi, whatever you bestowed upon me, I’m nothing. As a result, Allah (AJ) fills again their soul at every moment a new tajalli (manifestation) and new knowledges.
Efface Yourself in Nothingness to Continuously to Drink From the Kawthar
All that shaitan wants is have pride and arrogance in which your cup becomes full. In their tariqah (spiritual path) teaching, to get that far was that they’re nothing. They know their nothingness by the greatness of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. If they remain in the state of nothingness continuously, to efface themself in nothingness, Allah (AJ) dresses them in eternal oceans of realities which have no limit and no end to the grace of Allah’s (AJ) grace upon the souls for all of eternity. This is the immense blessings of the Kawthar. This is the immense blessings of to drink from the Kawthar and to be illuminated upon the soul from the Kawthar.
Follow Sayyidina Isma’il’s (as) Example in the First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah
This is the inheritance of Sayyidina Isma’il (as) that gives to us in this holy Hajj. That to be from the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and to understand that these are the days of sacrifice in which we sacrifice the bad character and asking Allah (AJ) to grant us and complete His ni’mat (blessings) upon us.
These are the months of — this is the ten days of good character, good deeds, good actions, good service, khidmat — everything imaginable so that Allah (AJ) complete His favours upon our soul. Grant us to reach to the mountain of rahmah (mercy) and the day of Yawmul Arafah. That Allah (AJ) accept and dress us on the Arafah and that we gave to Him a tremendous ransom.
﴾وَفَدَيْنَاهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿١٠٧
37:107 – “Wa fadainaahu bizibhin ‘azeem” (Surat As-Saffat)
“And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice” (Those Who Set the Ranks, 37:107)
Identify Your Imperfections and Remove Them With Allah’s (AJ) Mercy
That Allah (AJ) accept our qurban and to accept a sacrifice again that we’re giving from our property and by means of giving that property, Allah (AJ) and Divine grace to take away any imperfections in our deeds and in our character and in our actions. That nobody can approach with perfection. It’s by identifying the imperfection that Allah’s (AJ) Divinely grace to dress us. That we know that we’re continuously wrong, continuously doing things incorrect and that we are not reaching the stations of perfected faith and perfected character.
By means of this sacrifice, ya Rabbi, take away all imperfections from myself, my family, my children, and my communities, and all of us to make that prayer, inshaAllah. That Allah (AJ) take away these difficulties by means of a tremendous ransom and the holy qurban (sacrifice). Allah (AJ) dress us, bless us and forgive us and allow our souls to see the immensity of the ten days of Dhul Hajj, inshaAllah, and to achieve its immense blessings.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
