أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ٱلْرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ. Madad ya Sayyidi ya Rasulul Kareem, Ya Habibul ‘Azeem, unzur halana wa ishfa’lana, ‘abidona bi madadikum wa nazarekum.

Atiullah wa atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum. Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.

أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنكُم… ﴿٥٩﴾‏ …

4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)

“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)

The Light of 313 Messengers Fall Upon 313 Sahabi, Like a Waterfall

The Battle of the Badr is an immense event in Islam, an immense event with haqqayiq form malakut. That Allah (AJ), everything in the history of this creation will be reenacted by Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, the khatem and the seal of all creation. That all the messengers of Allah (AJ), they have tajjali (manifestation), their shadow come down, from the prophets to the Sahabi, 124,000 Prophets of Allah (AJ). It’s like a water fountain for us to visualize. That Allah (AJ) is sending to the Nabiyeen (prophets), Siddiqeen (truthful), Shuhada (martyrs) wa Saliheen (righteous ones) like a waterfall. What Allah (AJ) bestowed upon the messengers of this reality and dresses that their light was so powerful that they were able to give out the message of Allah (AJ). It’s a higher darajah (spiritual rank) than just the prophets of Allah (AJ) whom is immensely high. From those 313 messengers of Allah (AJ), their shade and their lights fall upon these companions. All 124,000 prophets and messengers, the 124,000 companions of Prophet ﷺ, each is taking the inheritance of the messengers and the prophets above them.

The Names of 313 Messengers of Allah (AJ) Brings Blessings to Our Lives

Then Allah (AJ) stablished that day on the 17th of Ramadan, the holy month of Ramadan, the month of Quran, the month of nur (light). That 313 of your companions that are inheriting from these 313 messengers of Allah (AJ). Alhamdulillah we have a ta’weez (prayer for protection) with 313 names of the messengers of Allah (AJ) in the Shaykh Nazim’s (Q) handwriting. We have the ta’weez that we keep in our house for tanbark and blessings and protection. It means that nothing is random, when Allah (AJ) is sending 313 sahabi that they are taking the dress of that reality.

Whatever You Do Should be for the Sake of Allah (AJ), Not for People

The immensity of that event is that our lives are continuously surrounded by people, most of which are absolutely of no value. In the event of a difficulty or actions that are unpleasing, those people will be gone. They will be running. If you keep basing your life on the company of those people, Allah (AJ) continuously reminding that you are going to be greatly disappointed.

That from Sayyidina ‘Isa (as), from 12 companions, one sold him, of twelve. That one for money, was willing to sell the holy prophet of Allah (AJ). Sayyidina ‘Isa (as) comes to our lives and remind us that don’t do what you do for people. Our way was not for people. We do what we do is for Allah (AJ) and Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and for the nazar of Awliyaullah (saints). Because people, they sell you. When they are tired of you, they get rid of you. They sell for less than the price of the bag. If the gold and the bag was for Sayyidina ‘Isa (as), we are going to hit less than the price of a bag. One big lesson of our lives is do what you do for Allah (AJ), not for people. People like it alhamdulillah, people don’t like it alhamdulillah. If Alalh likes it, alhamdulillah wa shukran lillah that Allah (AJ) is pleased with us and support us.

The Test of Material Enticement at Badr

In the event of Badr, Allah (AJ) wants to bring a yaqeen and certainty to the heart of Prophet ﷺ. And again a deep life message. That prophet ﷺ had gathered these companions with no equipment, no armor, no preparation for warfare. But we go, there are somethings that we can easily take of our property that was taken from us in Makkah. There is a caravan that is trading with goods in it. And most likely they are the goods that they took from us in Makkah. Let’s go out and see if we can take our property back and see what Allah (AJ) sends us.

One is that the way that Prophet ﷺ wants you to inherit from this way. Awliyaullah are inheriting from the way of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. They’ve same style of training. That bring them for the enticement of maybe material goods. Maybe that’s why they are coming with you. They want rizq (sustenance) to open. They want money to open. They want property to open. They want jobs to open. So Allah (AJ) says, test your companions. Tell them that we are going out for property. Don’t bring any warfare, don’t bring any armoury. Don’t bring anything. Bring very minimal. But all great and firm companions prophet ﷺ, and family members of prophet ﷺ. Go out and entice them maybe from the material world. And they accompanied and they freely went and said, we are coming, let’s go. We are going to make it short because we are going to recite the holy names of the Ahlul Badr.

Sahabi Showed Moral Excellence in the Face of Battle

In the midst of that, the circumstances changed. That caravan that prophet ﷺ was going after to take the goods and the property, they found out. They immediately called for reinforcements. They went from three to 10,000 solders that appeared from Makkah. And they are coming. And the rules of engagement for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ was that there was no retreat allowed. As soon as prophet ﷺ moved, there was no going back. So prophet ﷺ got the news that it’s not longer a peaceful caravan. And this caravan is coming with 3,000 or 10,000 soldiers to annihilate you and all the prime men and all the prime of the nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.

The distress and the disappointment in the heart of Prophet ﷺ, that they came out with a different understanding and Allah (AJ) turned the test. Prophet ﷺ knows and that time he turns to his men, said, ‘Ya Sahabi, this scenario has changed. You came with me for one intention, but now this intention is a full fledged battle and there are 10,000 men coming after us. You’re free to leave if it’s fear that you have, but I have no permission to leave. I’m moving forward.’ At that point, the Sahabi (Holy Companions of Prophet ﷺ) showed their true and moral excellence. Said, ‘Whatever you gave to us, we kept. Whatever you forbid from us, we left. There is no way we’re going to leave your side. You command us and we move. We’re moving into wherever you go.’

They showed the immense love for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. This is for ahle haqaiq (people of realities) and ahle jahal (people of ignorance) who don’t understand Islam. The Islam was the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Nobody knows Allah (AJ). Nobody can feel Allah (AJ). Nobody is at that level to feel Allah (AJ). What they felt was the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. The immense love of Prophet ﷺ, that you are the emanating lights of Allah (AJ). If Allah’s (AJ) compassionate, we know it through you. If Allah’s (AJ) generous, we know it through you. If Allah’s (AJ) forgiving, we know it through you.

Allah’s (AJ) Divine Support Carried Them Through the Battle of Badr

Their life and love was Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. They couldn’t envision retreating and leaving Prophet ﷺ to be harmed for money, for life. Said, ‘This is not what we came for. We’re with you. We want to be written that we’re at your feet.’ Immediately, all 313 stood and they annihilated whatever was coming towards them. Allah (AJ) with those whom Allah (AJ) loves. Allah (AJ), “Nasrullahi wal Fath.”

﴾إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللَّـهِ وَالْفَتْحُ ﴿١

110:1 – “Idha jaa a Nasrullahi wal Fath.” (Surat An-Nasr)

“When there comes the Divine Support of Allah and the Victory.” (The Divine Support, 110:1)

Everything Can Be Annihilated With Sifat Al-Aziz

When Allah (AJ) supports, he supports with “Wa yansurakAllahu nasran ‘aziza.” I support you with my Sifat Al-Aziz (attribute of The Almighty) and annihilate everything.

﴾وَيَنصُرَ‌كَ اللَّـهُ نَصْرً‌ا عَزِيزًا ﴿٣

48:3 – “Wa yansurakAllahu nasran ‘aziza.” (Surat Al-Fath)

“And [that] Allah may help you with a mighty victory.” (The Victory, 48:3)

As soon as they stepped forward, then they showed Allah (AJ). They showed Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ: we are not here for dunya (material world). We are here for our love. We sacrifice ourself for the love of you (as). That for us is our reminder. This was the example of the Companions. When crazy people say the Companions didn’t celebrate birthday, they celebrated the life and death of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ at every moment. Every decision they made was the celebration of the life of Prophet ﷺ. What more can you celebrate the life of Prophet ﷺ saying that I’m going to stand in front, let me die first? That’s a Mawlid. That’s a celebration of the life because this holy life is not going to go down while I’m standing.

Allah (AJ) Sent an Army From the Heavens to Help the 313 Soldiers

This was the life and the character of the Sahabi (Holy Companions of Prophet ﷺ). Their whole existence was to show us that you love Prophet ﷺ, hold the ta’zim (honour). Hold the flag of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Never let that flag down. Hold the character and the love of Prophet ﷺ and Allah (AJ) make you to conquer anything that is in front of it. Allah (AJ), at that time, sent malaika (angels) from the heaven, jundim minas samaa (army from the heavens).

That Prophet ﷺ, as soon as these battles were beginning, he came out and began to cry out. That, ‘I see the angels are coming in 3 to 4 to 5,000 in yellow turbans, red turbans, black turbans.’ That all the angels of war were coming in their turbans and coming down. All that Prophet ﷺ began to say, “Ya Rabbil ‘Izzati wal ‘Azhamati wal Jabaroot.” Immediately, all the people were dust upon the floor, upon the battlefield.

يَا رَبِّ الْعِزَةِ وَالْعَظَمَةِ وَالْجَبَرُوتْ.

“Ya Rabbil ‘Izzati wal ‘Azhamati wal Jabaroot.”

“O Lord of Honor and Might and Magnificence, Imposer of Thy Will.”

Ashabi un-Nabi ﷺ Hold the Flag of Prophet ﷺ High and Never Let It Fall

We pray that Allah (AJ) grant us the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and the love of Ashabi al-Nabi ﷺ who gave their entire love to Prophet ﷺ. By means of that love to Prophet ﷺ, they gained the love of Allah (AJ) at that time. At that time, Allah (AJ) pleased with them. He said now you followed, now you gave your life. My love is upon you and they felt the immense proximity and they reached the stations and the had (limit) that Allah (AJ) had wanted for them. So, it means our life example is from that reality. We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us from those lights, bless us from those lights and grant us from those characters, from the characteristic of Ashabi al-Nabi ﷺ, insha’Allah.

اَلَّلهُمَّ صَلِ وَ سَلِّمْ وَ بَارِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَي آَلِهْ

“Allahuma salli wa sallim wa barik ‘alayhi wa ‘ala alih”

“O Allah send peace and blessings upon him (Muhammad (pbuh)) and his family”

InshaAllah, now intending to recite the names of Ahle Badr. That their nazar (gaze) be upon us, that their lights be upon us. Allah’s (AJ) love for them, Sayyidina Muhammad’s ﷺ love for them to bless us and dress us, inshaAllah.
