Love whom Allah Loves
From the Realities of Mawlana Shaykh (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi.
A’udhu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the rejected one
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillah (All praises be to Allah), Allah ‘Azza wa Jal’s Greatness and Rahmah and Mercy, and always a reminder that through the grace of God is that we find ourself in existence. That all the salawat, all the nasheeds, all the praisings, always is a reminder that to live a life in which we attempt to be nothing, to constantly efface and bring down the bad characteristics, and to reach towards Allah’s satisfaction, which is the love of Sayyiduna Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
When Allah Calls, Souls Move towards Divinely Presence
When Allah ‘Azza wa Jal wants to dress the servant, means that when Allah ‘Azza wa Jal begin the calling unto the soul, and the soul [says], ‘Labbaik Allahumma labbaik [O My Lord, here I am at your service]. The soul hears the call and begin to move through every difficulty, through every barrier, through everything that this dunya will put as an obstacle. When Allah calls, the soul says, ‘Labbaik,’ it hears the call and it has to moves and begin to push through everything, whatever fear the body may have, whatever obstacles they put into the mind, into the hearts of people. When Allah calls, the soul comes and begins moving towards that Divinely Presence.
When that soul is feeling the love for Allah ‘Azza wa Jal, means that many souls are moving into that presence and finding guidance through whatever means Allah ‘Azza wa Jal wants to guide the souls. There are as many paths as the ways of the breath. Means whom Allah ‘Azza wa Jal wants to guide, how Allah ‘Azza wa Jal wants to guide is up to Allah ‘Azza wa Jal. And they are all coming; Allah ‘Azza wa Jal is bringing them.
When Allah ‘Azza wa Jal wants to grant them a very high station, bring them into the oceans of tawhid (oneness) from Ahlul Kitaab, Ahlul Qur’an, all the religions that bring people to oneness, Allah ‘Azza wa Jal granting them the gift of La ilaha illAllah. So they read their books, they believe in the Oneness of the Creator and Allah ‘Azza wa Jal calling them, “Come to My Oneness and I’m going to give you your paradises,” because Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam describes that: the key to paradise is La ilaha illAllah (there is no God but Allah). So means all the souls that coming to La ilaha illAllah entering into the paradises of the Divinely Presence.
مَنْ قَالَ لَا اِلَهَ اِلَّا اللهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّة
“Man qaala La ilaha ila Allah dakhalal Jannah.”
“Whoever says ‘Laa ilaha illAllah’ (There is no God but Allah) enters Paradise.” Prophet Muhammad (saws)
Then when Allah ‘Azza wa Jal want to bestow a tremendous darajat, a tremendous rank, a tremendous nobility upon that soul, Allah ‘Azza wa Jal will guide them to La ilaha illallah, Muhammadun Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam [There is no God but Allah and Muhammad (pbuh) is the Messenger of Allah]. If we understand La ilaha illAllah and the gift of Muhammadun Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
Means then everybody is for paradise. So this is not about excluding people from paradise, but when Allah ‘Azza wa Jal, the Creator, wants to give a tremendous gift to the soul, says, “I want for you the highest of darajats, I want for you realities that you can’t imagine, loves that you can’t imagine, fragrances that you can’t imagine; come to the door of Muhammadun Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.” And the souls move into that reality, they are entering into the realities of Allah’s Love.
Love whom Allah Loves
There’s a way to understand this relationship and the reality of love because the people of the material world were trained on something different for love. We think their love is based on one and one: you love me, I love you. This mystical way where they say Allah ‘Azza wa Jal is a mystery, means it requires a character of a seeking, a character of humility in which Allah ‘Azza wa Jal is guiding that, “You love me?”
Say, “Yes, ya Rabbi, I’m trying my best to love you.”
“Come to Me and I want you to love whom I love. If you love whom I love, you should find My Love upon you. I’m not in need of your love. Don’t come to Me, loving Me. That is nor the darajat, the rank that I want for you. I want to test your love.”
قُلْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُحِبُّوْنَ اللَّـهَ فَاتَّبِعُوْنِيْ يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّـهُ … ٣١
3:31 – “Qul in kuntum tuhibbon Allaha fattabi’oni, yuhbibkumUllahu …” (Surah Surat Al ‘Imran)
“Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you …” (Holy Quran 3:31)
It’s easy to love the shaykh, but to love who the shaykh loves, that is the test. It’s easy to love a family member, but to love whom you love is the test. We don’t understand that in the material world. We say, “I love you, I hate everybody else.” That’s not the reality.
The reality is based on ishq and love, that what Allah ‘Azza wa Jal wants from us is that, “If you love Me, love Sayyiduna Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.”
Love me, love my family: Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam gave the same example. “Ask nothing from you, I gave you Qur’an; I gave you my Sunnah. All I ask from you, o my nation is my itrat, my family.”
42:23 – `…Qul laa as alukum `alayhi ajran illa almawaddata fil qurba,…`(Surah Ash Shura)
“… Say, [O Muhammad], “I do not ask you for this bounty any reward, except to love those near of kin (Ahlul Bayt).”…`(Holy Quran, The Consultation 42:23)
This was the exact same example, that every time Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was sad, then Allah ‘Azza wa Jal would console him. He said, “They are not angry with you; they are upset with the Divinely Presence, Our Presence. You are khuluqul azheem (Holy Quran 68:4), you are the best of character. They are not content with the Divinely Decree upon them.”
وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿٤
68:4 – “Wa innaka la’ala khuluqin ‘azheem.” (Surat al Qalam)
“Truly, you (O Muhammad!) are of a magnificent character.” (Holy Quran, The Pen 68:4)
There is such a love relationship in which Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam’s dialogue with Allah ‘Azza wa Jal. Allah ‘Azza wa Jal’s teaching us about love: “If you want ‘Qul inni kuntum tuhibbunallah’, if you want all your life is about, you want My Love, fattabiooni yuhibbukumullah.”
Don’t be Arrogant in your love, like Shaitan
It is different than you seek Allah’s love. You seek Allah’s love, okay, great; all of creation (seeks that). Allah knows the creation and the secret within the soul, within your atoms, Allah knows it; it’s already attracted to His Divinely Presence, it’s given. How do you know when someone loves you, is they love whom you love. They respect whom you respect. They honour whom you love. That’s love. This is what Allah’s teaching for us: that’s love.
Coming and pounding upon my door and saying that you love me, you love me, you love me- shaitan did that. Shaitan did that and his love was not enough to save him ‘cause he was prideful, boastful and arrogant. He didn’t recognize any other love but he said, ‘My love only for Allah ‘Azza wa Jal.’
And when Allah ‘Azza wa Jal brought what He loved in his presence, because he didn’t know his station, he doesn’t know the station of the light of Sayyidena Adam alayhi salaam; he is Nurul Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Everybody is behind a veil, not understanding that reality. That when that love becomes an arrogant love, cannot test it love, not a humble love, not a love through reflection; that you thought you reached something and your love is directly with the boss.
How Could you Love the Shaykh, and be Rude to his Family and Followers?
And Allah ‘Azza wa Jal said, “No, that love has an arrogance in it.” What’s the benefit in loving the shaykh but your bad to all of the shaykh’s representatives? What’s the benefit of loving someone and you are bad to their children? What’s the benefit of loving the shaykh and you’re bad to the students?
Everything is about reflective love, where Allah ‘Azza wa Jal is teaching: no, shaitan fell from that; he thought he was the best one, when I showed him whom I really love, ‘Wa lakal karamna Bani Adam’,
وَلَقَدْ كَرَّمْنَا بَنِي آدَمَ…
17:70 – “Wa laqad karramna bani adama…” (Surat al Isra)
“And We have certainly honored the children of Adam…” (The Night Journey 17:70)
And didn’t know the secret of the light of Sayyidena Adam is the light of Sayyiduna Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, the best of creation, the light of that is in this reality; and shaytaan didn’t bow. He didn’t keep his ihtiram and his respect.
2:34 – ” Wa idh qulna lil Malayikati osjudo li Adama fasajado illa ibleesa aba wastakbara wa kana minal kafireen.” (Surah al Baqarah)
“And [mention] when We said to the angels, “Bow Down to Adam”; so they prostrated, except for Iblis. He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers/who reject faith.” (Holy Quran)
It means it’s not a direct love. It’s not a love in which we call out, “We love Allah ‘Azza wa Jal, we love Allah ‘Azza wa Jal.” Allah ‘Azza wa Jal saying, “I’m going to test that love. I heard you. You love Me, love My Most Beloved, Most Beloved.
Allah is Hidden Treasure, Known through Reality of Muhammad (saws)
I (Allah) made all this creation for the reality known to you as Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam; most hamd, most praised one in Divinely Presence. That reality I made out of My love for creation; I’m a treasure wanting to be known and
كُنْت كَنْزاً مخفيا فَأَحْبَبْت أَنْ أُعْرَفَ؛ فَخَلَقْت خَلْقاً فَعَرَّفْتهمْ بِي فَعَرَفُونِي
“Kuntu kanzan makhfiyya, fa ahbabtu an a’rafa, fa khalaqtu khalqan, fa ‘arraftahum bi fa ‘arafonee.”
“I was a hidden Treasure then I desired to be known, so I created a creation to which I made Myself known; then they knew Me.” Hadith Qudsi
This creation of Muhammdun Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam will let Allah ‘Azza wa Jal to be known through the reflection of that creation.” There’s no way to go directly to Allah ‘Azza wa Jal. And (Allah (aj) begins to teach us that, “If you love Me, come to the love of Sayyiduna Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.”
There is Outside Love and Inner Love of the Divine – “Yusalluna”
We said before that: “innAllaha wa malayikatahu yusalluna…”
…إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ
33:56 “innAllaha wa malayikatahu yusalluna ‘alan Nabiyi … ” (Surat AlAhzab)
“Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet [Muhammad (saws)]…” (Holy Quran, The Combined Forces, 33:56)
Yusalloona– means that they are teaching us, if we had graphics to understand, that when we are moving to the love of Allah ‘Azza wa Jal, Allah ‘Azza wa Jal immediately directs those whom He wants the highest of realities: “Come then to yusalloona. Come where I am making My Dhikr. Come to where My Love is.”
So there’s an outside love, they think they love Allah ‘Azza wa Jal; the inside love is to come into where Allah loves. What’s in the – there’s no heart for us to understand, is a darajat of the soul. “When I want to bring you to where I love, I love Sayyiduna Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, that, Myself and all My pure souls, known as malaa’ika (angels), we are yusalloona, praising and praying upon that reality- yusalloona ‘ala Nabi.”
The whole story of life, the whole story of all this creation, from the malakut and the unseen world of light to the known world and form and all its infinite universes; as many as come into existence, they are all in yusalloona (praising). Because it is from the oceans of Sayyidena Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Everything within that creation is a praise upon Sayyiduna Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
