I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from the accursed Satan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘aalameen, was salaatu was salaamu ‘alaa Ashrafil Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadul Mustafa ﷺ.
Always a reminder for myself, ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl, and but for the grace of Allah (AJ) that we’re still in existence.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Our Journey Started in Muharram Through to Dhul Hijjah
Alhamdulillah, the holy month of Dhul Hijjah, the month of hajj (pilgrimage) and holiest days to be in worshipness, blessed, dressed that Allah (AJ) complete His favour upon our hijrah (migration). Our movement from Muharram into the holy month of Dhul Hijjah, Dhul Hajj, to be dressed by this immense blessings, immense light, immense realities.
That in this way of ma’rifah (gnosticism) is from 1 to 12 hijabs (veils) and this is the 12th hijab in our first movement in our regular life, in our regular understanding. Surat Al-Yusuf (as) is a dress and the dress of that reality to dress upon us.
The Secret of Surat Al Kawthar is Based on Haq
Then from the level of awliyaullah (saints), it becomes through the power of 9. So, that in their way, ma’rifah they want, they move through instead of 1 and Surah Fatiha, they are moving to the secret of Surat Al-Fatiha on the first month which they move through Surat Al-Tawbah all the way to the 12th hijab and the 12th month; Surat Al Kawthar.
9 x 12 is 108 and the immense realities of 108 and that in abjad is ‘Haq’ (truth), ha and qaf. Ha is 8. Qaf is 100 and that the Haq and reaching to the Haq, to be dressed by the Haq has to do with the secret of the Kawthar (Fountain of Abundance).
Surah Yusuf is the Best of Stories in Holy Qur’an (Holy Qur’an, 12:3)
That Allah (AJ) in this movement and pilgrimage that is continuous, is a circle. Every beginning has an ending and every ending has a new beginning. It’s a continuous cycle of movement towards Divine realities. In the first stages, we move through the secret of Surah Fatiha. That Allah (AJ) dress us from Surah Fatiha all the way to the 12th month is then Surat Al-Yusuf (as). That Allah (AJ) describes a beatific qissah. It’s such a beatific story for our way of ma’rifah (gnosticism).
12:3 – “Nahnu naqussu ‘alayka ahsana alqasasi bima awhayna ilayka haaza alqurana…” (Surat Yusuf)
“We relate to you, the best of stories in what We have revealed to you of this Qur’an…” (Yusuf, 12:03)
Who Knows Himself Will Know His Lord
‘Alif, laam, ra’ and that Allah (AJ) unlock on this journey the realities of Rubbubiya,
of lordship. This surah (chapter) becomes a key to the understanding of who is your lord. Prophet ﷺ came from us to give to us, ‘Who knows himself will know his lord.’
Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ: “Man ‘arafa nafsahu faqad ‘arafa Rabbahu”
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “Who knows himself, knows his Lord.”
Ask Yourself What You Really Submit to in Order to Achieve True Servanthood
Lord, not that they’ll know Allah (AJ) right away, but that which governs you. Lordship has to do with what governs us, what is a master to us. So, Surat Al-Yusuf is describing that Allah’s (AJ) dialogue between Sayyidina Yusuf (as), his Malik and king whom he’s a servant to and that Allah (AJ) – and this is in reference to who his lord is and his servanthood – to the king whom purchased him and not to betray your master to reach towards these realities. So, unlocks for the salik (seeker), the traveller on this reality, the immense realities of lordship.
That Prophet’s ﷺ hadith comes to give to us that, ‘Who knows himself will know his lord’; knows what governs him before he can claim that he submits to the Creator, Most High is that this spiritual path is – what do you really submit to? Look to all that which governs you and life and stops you from true submission. That becomes the first step in our analysis of ourself. That, ‘Ya Rabbi, I’m asking to move towards Your realities.’ Surat Al-Yusuf comes to us to teach us then look to yourself and see what governs you. Before we can claim that, ‘I’m submitting to Allah (AJ). No, I’m submitting to my desires. I submit to my vices, my wants. I submit to my computer, my games.’ Before I can submit to Allah (AJ), I have to recognise what am I really submitting to. Those have to be fought. Those have to be conquered. Those have to be understood so that true servanthood can be accomplished.
Jealousy Can Exist Everywhere, Even in Prophethood
It means then in this beatific surah (chapter), Allah (AJ) is giving an immense reality for the tariqahs (spiritual paths). That we start just a quick analysis because we want, at this year, to go into the reality of ‘Arafah, all instead of the ending towards the end of hajj (pilgrimage). We’ll go from the back forward so that people don’t miss the immense realities of qurban (sacrifice), the immense realities of what Allah (AJ) has given to us to accomplish. It means then in Surat Al-Yusuf, Allah (AJ) is giving to us the story of Sayyidina Yusuf (as). That a beatific child from Sayyidina Yaqub (as), a prophet of Allah (AJ) and which has 11 brothers whom are prophets (as). His beatific reality and angelic soul let him to be favoured by his father and his brothers to be jealous.
It means every step of the way for those whom are on the path, this is especially important surah because it gives to us an understanding that: even your father’s a prophet (as), which nobody can claim and your brothers are all prophets (as), there exists jealousy. It means his brothers were jealous of him, didn’t like the status of his being favoured by his father so then jealousy exists. If it exist within the family of a prophet (as), imagine within the family of a tariqah, within the family of a Muslim community, within the family of humanity. That jealousy, no matter the rank or who you think the person is, ‘Oh, this is a big shaykh.’ He’s very capable of being jealous because 11 prophets (as) were jealous. They wanted to kill their brother. Prophets (as) are mazlum (innocent).
Anyone Can Fall to Shaitan’s Will When They Think They’re Infallible
So, it means Allah (AJ) is giving for those whom contemplate in their life – be careful. Shaitan (satan) is real and has access to everyone and he can make anyone fall. If they think they’re unfallible, they are fallible and they can fall, beginning. As a result of this difficulty, Sayyidina Yusuf (as) is describing to his father, ‘I had a dream, Baba, in which the sun and the moon and 11 planets made sujood (prostration) to me.’ He said, ‘Don’t tell your brothers. They’re going to become even more jealous about you. Just keep this secret to yourself.’
12:4-5 – “Idh qala Yosufu li abeehi ya abati innee raaytu ahada Ashara kawkaban wash Shamsa wal Qamara raaytuhum le sajideen. (4) Qaala yaa bunaiya laa taqsus ru’yaaka ‘alaaa ikhwatika fayakeedoo laka kaidaa; innash Shaitaana lil insaani ‘aduwwum Mubeen. (5)” (Surat Yusuf)
“[Of these stories mention] when Joseph said to his father, “O my father, indeed I have seen eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me. (4) Said (the father): “O My (dear) son! Do not relate your vision to your brothers, or they will contrive a plot against you; for indeed Satan is to mankind a clear/avowed enemy! (5)” (Joseph, 12:4-5)
You Can Be Placed in Hardship Out of Allah’s (AJ) Will, Not Your Choice
As time went on, the brothers became jealous, not tolerating, took him and threw him into a well. As a result of the well, like a chal, left him to die. It means then our path is that Allah (AJ) will throw us in a well. It means it’s not necessarily a path of your choice. That you come with all your senses and that you consciously make an effort that, ‘I’m going to follow these,’ but many have fallen into it, not followed into it.
That they had no choice, but Allah (AJ) threw them. That you’re going to be placed in hardship. The one who comes is one whom is responsible for you. As he was thrown into the well, a trade caravan came and they looked down, ‘There’s somebody in here. Oh, it’s a young, a nurani (luminous) filled with light child. Let’s take this one, perchance, we can sell him and have benefit.’
12:19 – “Wa jaaa’at saiyaaratun fa-arsaloo waaridahum fa adlaa dalwah; qaala yaa bushraa haaza ghulaam; wa asarroohu bi-daa’ah; wallaahu ‘aleemun bimaa ya’maloon”. (Surat Yusuf)
“Then there came a caravan of travellers: they sent their water-carrier (for water), and he let down his bucket (into the well)…He said: “Ah there! Good news! Here is a (fine) young man!” So they concealed him as a treasure! But Allah knoweth well all that they do!” (Yusuf, 12:19)
Allah (AJ) Sends You Guidance When He Places You in Difficulty
It means then the one whom Allah (AJ) puts into a difficulty, Allah (AJ) will send a guidance to retrieve that person in difficulty. It means everything on Surat Al-Yusuf is an immense analogy. We’re trying to sum it up in few minutes for understanding. That, you’re thrown into a well, he’s crying and in difficulty, left the guidance of his father whom is an immense prophet (as) of Allah (AJ) and a random caravan comes to retrieve him. That there is nothing of a coincidence.
Allah (AJ) had a station for Sayyidina Yusuf (as) that had nothing to do with his father guiding him. That his taslim and submission was to be cast into this difficulty and wait for guidance to appear. The caravan that took him, took him at a state of asir, captive. It means one: he’s losing his will. He’s not willfully choosing to go out and to guidance because people don’t understand, ‘Oh, like why is tariqah like this? Why is it like…?’ Because Allah (AJ) is giving it in Qur’an but nobody is stopping to read slowly to understand.
Awliya Feed Those Who are Needy, Orphaned and Captive (Holy Qur’an, 76:8)
When Allah (AJ) wanted, why he didn’t just get up, leave his father and start walking into the desert? Because Allah (AJ) is describing for us, ‘It doesn’t work that way.’ He was cast into a difficulty, grabbed and tried to be killed by his brothers who are prophets (as) of Allah (AJ), thrown into a dark cave in which he smashed his leg when they threw him all the way down.
A random caravan that doesn’t seem to be so random is passing by and they retrieve him. Now his journey started in a state of captivity because we said before – they feed you, these awliya (saints), but you have to be yateem (orphan), miskeen (poor) and asir – captive.
76:8 – “Wa yu ta’imo nat Ta’ama ‘ala hubbihi miskeenan wa yateeman wa aseera.” (Surat Al-Insaan)
“And they feed, in spite of love for it, to the needy/indigent, the orphan, and the captive.” (The Human, 76:8)
Malik al-‘Aziz References the Reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
It means you lose your ability to choose. This is not a choice of your own. So, they entered into taslim (submission) and the caravan took Sayyidina Yusuf (as) out to a bazaar in which to sell the people they find and the things and goods they find. Malik al-‘Aziz (The Almighty King), the king of Misr (Egypt) appears, looks at him and realizes that, ‘This maybe an immense barakah (blessing).’ The wife realizes that, ‘Maybe we can raise him as our own.’ They purchased Sayyidina Yusuf (as), ends up now in the king’s house, Malik al-‘Aziz. Why?
Because this has in reference to the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Ya ‘Aziz o Ya Razzaq, that everything coming to us is by these attributes. ‘Aziz is that we’re asking to submit. That nothing can escape Allah’s (AJ) ‘Aziz. If Allah (AJ) grant from His sifat al-‘Aziz (Attribute of The Magnificent), ‘I’m giving to you,’ not an army on this Earth can stop it and not a whole battalion can give it to you. If Allah (AJ) doesn’t grant it and under His sifat (attribute) that, ‘It’s not coming to you,’ nobody can come out to bring it for you. But if Allah (AJ) grant from it, there is nothing on Earth that can stop it because this is the Divine power and qudra.
The King’s Wife Represents Dunya, Chasing Sayyidina Yusuf (as)
Malik al-‘Aziz is now the hint that your journey into this Divine kingdom. This malik and this king because this is all of an analogy of that king. There is eternal reality from that story means the eternal king of Allah (AJ) is Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. He’s under sifat al-‘Aziz for if he requests it, it’s finished and it’s done. Nothing can stop the request of Prophet ﷺ because it’s coming from the request of Allah (AJ). That Malik al-‘Aziz takes Sayyidina Yusuf (as) into his home to raise and to nurture him.
In the home, the wife takes a liking for him, Zulaikha. She represents for tariqah, dunya (material world) because now you’re loved by the king. You’re loved by Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ on this journey and the dunya (material world) loves you, right? Because this dunya loves Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Everything is in submission to Allah (AJ). So, it means that be warned that this kingdom that we’re entering into and the tariqah’s access has immense barakah, immense blessings because under that sultanate (kingdom) and the ishq and the love and the service to this king, there is immense amounts of blessings.
Like Sayyidina Yusuf (as), Don’t Become Attached to Dunya
So, Zulaikha takes a liking and begins to come after Sayyidina Yusuf (as) and everyone’s familiar with the story. Says that, ‘Allah’s (AJ) my Creator and your king is my lord. That the Malik, my master, my rabbuk is my lord and I serve him and I don’t do wrong. What you’re asking from me is not for me.’ The teaching was that dunya (material world) wouldn’t stop. It wants to…it’s attracted to that servant. It loves that servant. As a result, he understood to turn from it. So, he turned his back to Zulaikha to retreat to the door to escape this type of testing.
As a result, she grabbed the back of his shirt and ripped it in the process of trying to attack him. At that moment, the king entered the door. That, ‘What is this? I brought you into my household. I raised you and what’s this situation happening?’ It means then this love that Allah (AJ) gives to the turuqs (spiritual paths), that immense barakah and blessings that are coming to the turuq. The warning is: be careful. Don’t become attached to the dunya. Don’t, don’t be lost by the immense amount of barakahs (blessings) that are flowing.
Sayyidina Yusuf (as) Turned to Allah (AJ) to Run From Dunya
At every moment, you have to be running from that, not running towards it because the beauty of a lady is symbolic of dunya (material world) desires. So, in dream interpretation, if you see yourself being chased by a beautiful woman, it means dunya is coming after you. Be careful. Until you can defeat and protect yourself enough until it becomes an old hag, look almost like a witch in which the desire for that servant, their dunya (material world) has dropped.
So, in the dream interpretations, it’s the same understanding. That because Allah (AJ) describes the allurement means everything is beatified and is alluring for you, ‘Come for I’ll intoxicate you.’ Sayyidina Yusuf (as) understood this is a big danger and asking, ‘Ya Rabbi, save me and help me.’ Allah (AJ) to save him had to show him a sign so that he would recalibrate himself and run.
They say that Sayyidina Jibreel (as) appeared to Sayyidina Yusuf (as) as a warning that, ‘Watch out. You’ll lose your prophethood if what you, you commit this zina (adultery) against the king.’ Immediately retreated, ran for the door and his shirt was torn. Then described to the king, ‘It was not me. It was her chasing. Look, the back of my shirt is torn, not the front of my shirt. I was retreating’ and then was saved from that difficulty.
12:26-28: “Qaala hiya raawadatnee ‘an nafsee wa shahida shaahidum min ahlihaa in kaana qameesuhoo qudda min qubulin fasadaqat wa huwa minal kaazibeen (26). Wa in kaana qameesuhoo qudda min duburin fakazabat wa huwa minas saadiqeen (27). Falammaa ra-aa qamee sahoo qudda min duburin qaala innahoo min kaidikunna inna kaidakunna ‘azeem (28)” (Surat Yusuf)
“He said: “It was she that sought to seduce me – from my (true) self.” And one of her household saw (this) and bore witness, (thus):- “If it be that his shirt is torn from the front, then is her tale true, and he is a liar! (26) But if it be that his shirt is torn from the back, then is she the liar, and he is telling the truth! (27) So when he saw his shirt – that it was torn at the back – (her husband) said: “Behold! It is a snare of you women! truly, mighty is your snare!” (Yusuf, 12:26-28)
Sayyidina Yusuf (as) Chose the Isolation of Jail Instead of Staying Among People
Then after that difficulty, another incident in which again the dunya (material world) came and said that, ‘Look, I’ll bring some other friends from dunya to entice you. If you disagree with me, I will imprison you. That you’re bound to this desire.’ Sayyidina Yusuf (as) then gave the dialogue that, ‘I believe jail is better for me than what these people have planned.’
12:33 – “Qaala rabbis sijnu ahabbu ilaiya mimma yad’oo naneee ‘ilaihi wa illaa tasrif ‘annee kaidahunna asbu ilaihinna wa akum minal jaahileen” (Surat Yusuf)
“He said: ‘O my Lord! the prison is more to my liking than that to which they invite me: Unless Thou turn away their snare from me, I should (in my youthful folly) feel inclined towards them and join the ranks of the ignorant.’” (Yusuf, 12:33)
It means that when we come to the tariqah and the immense bounty of tariqahs and a spiritual path has so many openings, so many blessings and they don’t stop. These blessings come, these blessings come, these blessings come and the first time you were thrown into it. It means you didn’t have a choice. You ended up with the turuqs, but Sayyidina Yusuf (as) gives us now a precedent in this that, ‘At this time, ya Rabbi, I think I need to be isolated. This too much attraction, too many things are attracted to my reality. I think jail is better for me.’
Seclude Yourself to Establish Your Divine Connection and Fight Dunya Desires
It means now he’s saying that now you have to make an intention for your seclusion. Allah (AJ) put you into that. It was not your choice. But now when the barakah dresses you in life, you have to make a conscious effort to fight dunya (material world) desire and in your conscious effort, you have to keep asking Allah (AJ) that, ‘Seclusion is better for me, ya Rabbi. It means grant me to train in my seclusion.’ Because people are busy now. Dunya is busy now. How do they seclude themselves? It’s very easy. That they come home from ‘Asr (afternoon prayer) or after Maghrib (evening prayer) when everything is calm and quiet, they sit and meditate and they contemplate and they try to make the connection in their heart, try to make the faiz (downpouring blessings) and the lights to reach to them.
Say, ‘Ya Rabbi, the allurement’ because everybody can understand this now. The allurement of dunya is immensely powerful and it’s coming to you every second on Tiktok and every second on Instagram. Now all the children are sickened by it. They have fear of missing out. They have unrealistic expectations of the world. Nobody wants to get a job. They want to be a YouTube influencer and that’s not going to happen because it’s less than 1% of 1% of people. But what it did was to completely destroy the hearts of people.
Dunya is Immensely Powerful and Can Destroy Our Hearts and Minds
So, now more than ever dunya (material world) is significantly dangerous. That her charm is so immense and that her magic and power is so powerful, destroying the hearts and minds of people. What Sayyidina Yusuf’s (as) qissah (story) is teaching to us, you have to ask Allah (AJ), that, ‘I need to retreat, ya Rabbi. I need to find a sanctuary in which I can meditate and contemplate and I need a faiz and madad to support me, ya Rabbi.’
Because these were the words of Sayyidina Yusuf (as). That, ‘What You have blessed me, dressed me. What You gave me of knowledges of interpretation means, ya Rabbi, that I don’t want to lose all these things because of dunya. I’m asking please that, that grant me a seclusion. Grant me an ability to isolate.’ Because nobody can go to jail and this is not a jail that anybody wants to be in but to incarcerate oneself.
The King of Egypt Brought Sayyidina Yusuf (as) Out After Seven Years
It means that I want to lock myself away from people so that to spend time with my Lord, to connect with that light and to connect with that energy, to connect with that blessings. Seven years of struggling in that way until the Malik. It means again, these are all isharats (signs) from the Malik. The Malik is the one saying that, ‘You need to spend some time. You’re going to be in trouble.’
As a result, only the Malik’s isharat that, ‘You are now ready. That this time that you have isolated, this time that you have connected and brought to your heart, brought these lights to your heart, you are ready to inherit.’ We talked today with some of the gentlemen that the inheritance is so immense that it can’t be understood. “Wa laqad karramna Bani Adam.”
17:70 – “Wa laqad karramna bani adama…” (Surat al Isra)
“And We have certainly honored the children of Adam…” (The Night Journey 17:70)
Sayyidina Yusuf (as) was Placed in Charge of the Kingdom and Its Sustenance
That Allah (AJ) is saying that, ‘We have honoured Adam and Eve, the children of Adam and Eve.’ Because we don’t understand the vastness of Allah (AJ), we can have no way to understand what that honour is. People only understand through material. The vastness of the universes and creations and beyond creations of what Allah (AJ) has created it’s vastness. Then Allah (AJ) gives to you the title, “Wa laqad karramna bani adam” – ‘We have honored you.’ As what? As an inheritor of these kingdoms.
That when Malik al-‘Aziz found sincerity in Sayyidina Yusuf (as), he granted to him the keys, the keys to the kingdom. That, ‘I’ll make you in charge of our kingdom, its rizq and its sustenance.’ It means what? That there’s an immense barakah (blessing) in the tariqah (spiritual path). But if that comes to you without training, you’ll be lost in it. You’ll take the money and run. Nobody will see you again. But Allah (AJ) says, ‘It doesn’t work that way. Serve your time. Prove that you’re sincere. Struggle through your sincerity.’ For when they do open, they open with the keys of the kingdom and the kingdom is huge. The kingdom is huge in its immensity. It has no limit to it.
Sayyidina Yaqub (as) Made Sujood and Kissed the Feet of His Son Upon Realizing His Station
That from a well and a slave, Sayyidina Yusuf (as), entire ministry of Egypt was under his command. All its financial, all of its rizq and sustenance and its disbursements – this was material. Again, the abbreviated version, then he called upon his father, called upon his brothers and as they came to greet him and understand the interpretation of the dream of that you would inherit the sun and the moon and eleven planets.
When they saw Sayyidina Yusuf (as) of what he had inherited, but more he’s a prophet of Allah (AJ) and he’s looking at another prophet of Allah (AJ) and recognized, ‘The extent of your testing, you’ve inherited Allah’s (AJ) kingdom. You are one of the big inheritors of this kingdom.’ He made sujood and kissed his feet.
12:100 – “Wa rafa`a abawayhi `alal `arshi wa kharro lahu sujjadan, wa qala ya abati hadha taweelu ruyaya min qablu qad ja`alaha rabbi haqqan wa qad ahsana bee idh akhrajani mina assijni …innahu huwal ‘Aleemul Hakeem.” (Surat Yusuf)
“And he raised his parents high on the throne (of dignity), and they fell down in prostration, (all) before him. He said, “O my father, this is the fulfillment/explanation of my vision oefore. My Lord has made it reality/come true. And He was certainly good to me when He took me out of prison…Indeed, it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise.” (Joseph, 12:100)
Sayyidina Yusuf (as) Inherited From the Stations of the Sun and Moon
So, when people – these crazy Wahabi people – don’t like you even to show a respect to the hands of a shaykh, this is a prophet (as) of Allah (AJ). He and his wife, they made sujood (prostration) and kissed the feet of Sayyidina Yusuf (as). Not only the prophet (as), his mother too said they went into prostration for the dress and the ‘azimat (might) of what Allah (AJ) had dressed upon Sayyidina Yusuf (as). They recognized, ‘This is an immense station this prophet (as) has achieved.’ He says, ‘Now is the day that I understand what your dream…your dream meant.’ Not the money of Misr, but Sayyidina Yaqub (as) saw that he’s in command of the sun, the moon and eleven planets are under his spiritual authority, Sayyidina Yusuf (as).
It means that that station is an inheritable station. Allah (AJ) giving money and to be under the command of rizq and sustenance is very minor, but that’s not difficult for Allah (AJ). But the true gift was the spiritual. That Sayyidina Yaqub (as) understood that, ‘You’re an inheritor of the sun and the moon.’ So, we said that the sun has a maqam (station), the moon has a maqam and the eleven planets have a maqam. They’re subject to that soul that is governing them which is beyond imagination. Sayyidina Yusuf (as) was one of those inheritors to give this qissah and to give this understanding, to give this immensity of light and what Allah (AJ) has put under the authority of the human soul. “Wa laqad karramna Bani Adam”.
Malaika’s Purpose is to Serve the Soul of Insan
Everything is under amr and command of Allah (AJ). Every command must go to the soul of Prophet ﷺ and must flow through the soul of these souls of pious souls before angels. Their station is above malaika (angels). Malaika, they serve the soul of insan (mankind). It means that every command of Allah (AJ) has to go to the soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and then dispersed from the souls that represent that ocean, then to the malaika. That’s what it’s meant by “Atiullah wa atiur Rasul”.
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat An-Nisa)
“… Obey Allah, Obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
From that ocean of reality then, “Ulil amre minkum” with the angels and awliya (saints) and everything below that reality. We pray that Allah (AJ) grant us an understanding and to read Surat Al-Yusuf in this holy month to understand that Allah (AJ), ‘Ya Rabbi, that what You want to grant to us by our imitated hajj (pilgrimage), by our imitated hijrah (migration) because we’re imitating. We’re moving, we’re moving, trying to understand all of these rules, all these laws, all these rituals, but what they meant on an eternal reality? What is the tawaf (circumambulation) eternally mean for us? Safa and Marwah, what is the eternal reality been meant for us?
Use the Material World to Achieve High Stations in the Heavenly Kingdom
All of hajj is ‘Arafah and what is the reality of ‘Arafah eternally for us. Because we use dunya to achieve akhirah (hereafter). We use the world to achieve the heavenly kingdom. So, everything has to be imitated and done in the physical world, but you’re trying to achieve it through the spiritual realm.
We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us from the immensities of these lights, these nights, this holy month and that to make our hijrah real, to make our soul to achieve what Allah (AJ) wanted the soul to achieve. Our shortcomings and misdoings, Allah (AJ) to forgive us.
Allah (AJ) Granted the Qurban to Remove Our Shortcomings for the Year
That’s the immensity of the qurban (sacrifice) that wherever the account, if falling short, the qurban where Allah (AJ) because Sayyidina Ibrahim (as) fell short of his sacrifice. Then Allah (AJ) described, ‘We gave an immense ransom. It means that this station I want to give to you and the reality of who Sayyidina Ismail (as) is, I’m accepting it with an immense ransom of the qurban.’
37:107 – “Wa fadainaahu bizibhin ‘azeem” (Surat As-Saffat)
“And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice” (Those Who Set the Ranks, 37:107)
That the reality of that qurban and how it takes away all of our deficiencies, all of what we could not achieve for that year. Allah (AJ) is the greatest of those to keep hisaab (account) and takes the negative, puts it upon the creature and then writes for the soul of that servant to be in the positive and having achieved Allah’s (AJ) rida and satisfaction, inshaAllah.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
Shaykhs are Caravans That Pick Us Up and Train Us to Move Towards Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
You can go to the Nurmuhammad website and you type in Surat Al-Yusuf and alhamdulillah, there are very detailed articles with references to Qur’an and Hadith and this just a summation inshaAllah for us to get some of the understandings of how Allah (AJ) has made Surat Al-Yusuf as a secret for tariqahs (spiritual paths) and the way of the turuqs. So, when people feel that, ‘Their way is different and why is my life like this.’ No, Allah (AJ) gave to everybody. Everyone’s going to be thrown in a hole because that’s the reality. You’ll be in a place and a…that you don’t understand, ‘Why am I there? Why am I here? Why is my life like this or that?’
Allah (AJ) is describing, ‘That’s exactly the way it’s supposed to be.’ Then I was lost and then I got found. That way of being found and the guides and shaykhs, they are that caravan. They are the caravan that has no despair. They know there’s a barakah (blessing) in everyone they pick up. Their job is to retrieve that soul and deliver them to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Allah (AJ)…Prophet’s ﷺ responsibility, nazar (gaze) is to bring them into the heavenly kingdom and begin the tarbiyah (discipline) process through the shaykhs and through the trainings and teachings. So, alhamdulillah, it’s an immense, immense realities. This is the holy month of the Kawthar (fountain of abundance). That Allah (AJ) to dress us and to bless us with the realities of the Kawthar, inshaAllah.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
