What is Zikr of Allah (AJ), the Prophet (ﷺ), and Angels’?

I seek refuge in Allah (AJ) from Satan, the rejected one
In the Name of Allah (AJ), the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ الرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْرٍ كَرِيمٍ ﴿١١
36:11 – “Innamaa tundhiru manit taba’az Zikra wa khashiyar Rahmaana bil ghaib, fabashshirhu bi maghfiratin wa ajrin kareem.” (Surat YaSeen)
“You can only warn one who follows the Zikr/remembrance and is conscious/fears the Most Merciful in unseen (world). So give that one good tidings of forgiveness and a most generous reward.”
Always a reminder, this way of ours towards Allah (AJ)’s Divinely Lights, is to admit to yourself ana abduka ajiz wa daif, miskeen wa zhalim wa jahl and by the Grace of Allah (AJ) we are still in existence. That we are weak, ajiz, dependent, poor oppressor, every type of bad characteristic is to be applied to the self, but by the Grace of God Almighty, that it keeps us going. There is no one who can claim anything as they try to move into that Presence. It is better to bring ourselves down before Allah (AJ) brings us down.

Allah (AJ) Swears by YaSeen ﷺ – Prophet Muhammad ﷺ’s Name
From Surat Yaseen, and mashAllah we have covered many ayaat of Surat Yaseen (36th chapter of holy Quran). That Sayyidina Yaseen ﷺ is the name of Prophet ﷺ. Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ’s name, one of his many names, infinite names, is Sayyidina Yaseen ﷺ. The knowledge and realities of Ya and Seen and that it is the heart of the Holy Qur’an, Surat Yaseen is the heart of the Holy Qur’an. We make a synopsis, to get to this point of the 11th verse, the ayat al kareem of Surat Yaseen in the Holy Qur’an. Allah (AJ) starts off with: ”Yaseen. wal Quran al hakim” (36:1-2)
يس ﴿١﴾ وَالْقُرْآنِ الْحَكِيمِ ﴿٢
36:1-2 – “YaSeen.(1) wal Qur’anal Hakeem.(2)” (Surat YaSeen)
“Ya-Seen.(1) By the Qur’an, full of Wisdom. (holy Quran 36:1-2)
Allah (AJ) is swearing, testifying by the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, and by all the Lights of Holy Qur’an. That “All of these realities I am about to describe to you is in the treasure, in the reality of Sayyidina Yaseen ﷺ,” and describes all of that barakah and blessings. Then begins to describe the people who come against that reality, come against that understanding. And who is a believer in that reality, and who is not a believer in that reality. We come to the verse 11th inshaAllah. “Innama tundhuru manitaba ad dhikra …”
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ الرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْرٍ كَرِيمٍ ﴿١١
36:11 – “Innamaa tundhiru manit taba’az Zikra wa khashiyar Rahmaana bil ghaib, fabashshirhu bi maghfiratin wa ajrin kareem.” (Surat YaSeen)
“You can only warn one who follows the Zikr/remembrance and is conscious/fears the Most Merciful in unseen (world). So give that one good tidings of forgiveness and a most generous reward.”
SadaqAllah ul azheem wa balaghta rasul al Kareem. That Allah (AJ) says, “That warn them who follow the Reminder.”
People who don’t Believe, Deny the Messengers of Haqq (truth)
(36:6-10) (36:13-19)
Means from the verses prior to that, about: “They don’t believe, their fathers were in ignorance and they are in ignorance. (Holy Quran 36:6-10). That any time you bring a Haqq to people, or to a person, Allah (AJ) warning: “They are not going to accept your truth.” (36:10)
لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّا أُنذِرَ آبَاؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَافِلُونَ ﴿٦﴾ لَقَدْ حَقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلَىٰ أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿٧
وَسَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿١٠
36:6,7,10 – “Litundhira qawmam maaa undhira aabaa uhum fahum ghaafiloon. (6) Laqad haqqal qawlu ‘alaa aksarihim fahum laa yu’minoon. (7)
Wa sawaa’un ‘alayihim ‘a-andhartahum, am lam tundhirhum laa yu’minoon. (10)” (Surat YaSeen)
“That you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned, therefore they remain heedless. (6) Already the word has been proved true against most of them, so they do not believe. (7) And it is all the same for them, whether you warn them or do not warn them – they will not believe. (10)” (Holy Quran, YaSeen)
Allah (AJ) is saying, if We sent a warner to them ‘they are going to stone them.’ (36:13-19) There are only certain souls that have programed within them the ability to accept that Truth. (Quran 36:11) As the world becomes darker and darker Allah (AJ) is warning to RijalAllah (men of God), “Wherever you enter and begin to speak the Truth, people will stone you.” (36:13-19)
وَاضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلًا أَصْحَابَ الْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَاءَهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ ﴿١٣﴾ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ اثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ ﴿١٤﴾ قَالُوا مَا أَنتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَمَا أَنزَلَ الرَّحْمَـٰنُ مِن شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَكْذِبُونَ ﴿١٥﴾ قَالُوا رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّا إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ ﴿١٦﴾ وَمَا عَلَيْنَا إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ ﴿١٧﴾ قَالُوا إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهُوا لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ﴿١٨﴾ قَالُوا طَائِرُكُم مَّعَكُمْ ۚ أَئِن ذُكِّرْتُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ ﴿١٩﴾
36:13-19 – Wadrib lahum masalan Ashaabal Qaryatih; iz jaa’ahal mursaloon. (13) Iz arsalnaaa ilayhi musnaini fakazzaboo humaa fa’azzaznaa bisaalisin faqaaloo innaa ilaykum mursaloon(14) Qaaloo maa antum illaa basharum mislunaa wa maa anzalar Rahmaanu min shay’in, in antum illaa takziboon.(15) Qaaloo Rabbunaa ya’lamu innaa ilaykum lamursaloon.(16) Wa maa ‘alaynaa illal balaghul Mubeen. (17) “Qaaloo inna tataiyarnaa bikum la’il-lam tantahoo lanar jumannakum wa la-yamassan nakum minnaa ‘azaabun aleem. (18) Qaaloo taaa’irukum ma’akum; a’in zukkirtum; bal antum qawmum musrifoon. (19) (Surat YaSeen)
“And present to them the example (story of) the Companions of the city, when the messengers came to it –(13) When We (first) sent to them two messengers, but they denied/rejected them. So We strengthened them with a third; they said, “Indeed, we have been sent to you as messengers. (14) They said, “You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful sends not sort of revelation. You are only telling lies.” (15) They said, “Our Lord knows that we have been sent as messengers to you, (16) And our duty is only to proclaim the Clear Message.”(17) They said, “Indeed, we consider you a bad omen. If you do not desist, we will certainly stone you, and a grievous punishment indeed will be inflicted on you by us. (18) They (messengers) said, “Your omen is with yourselves. Is it because you were reminded (of Truth)? Rather, you are the people transgressing all bounds and are extreme.”(19) (Holy Quran)
A Man of God comes to Support the Messenger (36:20-27)
Even Allah (AJ) will send outside support. An outside person comes saying, “Why, why are you attacking them? That they are sent by Ar Rahman, they are not charging for their services, they are reminding you of your Lord.”
وَجَاءَ مِنْ أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ يَسْعَىٰ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اتَّبِعُوا الْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿٢٠﴾ اتَّبِعُوا مَن لَّا يَسْأَلُكُمْ أَجْرًا وَهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ ﴿٢١
36:20-21 – “Wa jaa’a min aqsal madinati Rajulun yas’aa, qaala yaa qawmit tabi’ul mursaleen.(20) `Ittabi’o man la yasalukum ajran wa hum Muhtadon.” (21) (Surat YaSeen)
“And there came from the farthest end of the city a man (rijal), running. He said, “O my people, follow the messengers. (20) “Follow/obey those who ask no reward of you (for themselves), and they are rightly guided.” (21) (Holy Quran)
This is a summation of that what has taken place. They warned the people, “no, if you talk anymore, we are going to stone you to death.” That rijal (man) died. The verse after Allah (AJ) describes “Qilat khulil Jannah”, that he went to Jannah (heaven). (Quran 36:26-27) First he gave his dawah (invitation), and immediately the people attacked and he went back into Allah (AJ) ‘s Divinely Presence.
قِيلَ ادْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَ ۖ قَالَ يَا لَيْتَ قَوْمِي يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٢٦﴾ بِمَا غَفَرَ لِي رَبِّي وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ الْمُكْرَمِينَ ﴿٢٧
36:26-27 –“ Qeelad khulil Jannah; qaala yaa laita qawmee ya’lamoona. (26) Bimaa ghafara lee Rabbi wa ja’alanee minal mukrameen. (27) (Surat YaSeen)
It was said: “Enter to paradise.” He said, “Oh, I wish my people could know, (26) For that my Lord has granted me Forgiveness and bestowed upon me great bounty and made me from those who are held in honor!” (Holy Quran)
The Believers do Zikr and are Obedient to Zikr
Allah (AJ) is then describing from Surat Yaseen, the secret of whom Allah (AJ) granted belief. Because this is heart of Holy Qur’an, so this must be the cream of the crop of belief. The characteristic, the reality of who they are, that they ‘itabi’u dhikrun, “They follow the dhikr”. Means then just one understanding before you go deeper, ‘itabi’u dhikrun’. (Quran 36:11)
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ الرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْرٍ كَرِيمٍ ﴿١١

So the people who don’t believe in dhikr, they completely are now being cut out from this reality. Allah (AJ) in the heart of Holy Qur’an, in the heart of Surat Yaseen says, you cannot warn except those who ‘itabi’ is from itibah of the dhikr, “They are obedient to the dhikr.”
They are obedient, one, they must always be physically, they must always be in Majlis of Dhikr because Allah (AJ) says they are in ‘itebah’, they are obedient. It is not something they leave out of their life. It’s not something they put as an enjoyment, and as a part time. It is part of their whole ‘aqida, their whole belief. That my light, my food, my reality, everything comes in that Majlis of Dhikr. I am obedient to that dhikr, my life has to be around that dhikr, I can’t go far without the dhikrullah or the mehfil and celebration of the lovers of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
Allah (AJ) ‘Yusalluna’ sends Praising upon Prophet (ﷺ)
Then Allah (AJ) begins to teach Awliyaullah that what is the dhikr of Allah (AJ)? What is the dhikr of Allah (AJ) and Awliyaullah come into our lives and say: “innAllah (AJ)a malaikatahu yusalloon alan Nabi” ‘Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet (Muhammad (ﷺ)).”
إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيماً
33:56 “innAllaha wa malayikatahu yusalluna ‘alan Nabiyi yaa ayyuhal ladhina aamanu sallu ‘alayhi wa sallimu taslima. ” (Surat AlAhzab)
“Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet [Muhammad (ﷺ)]: O you that believe! Send your blessings upon him, and salute him with all respect. ” (Holy Quran, The Combined Forces, 33:56)
The dhikr of Allah (AJ) is the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, very deep very powerful. Allah (AJ) is not making dhikr of “Allah (AJ), Allah (AJ), Allah (AJ)”. Allah (AJ) is Allah. Allah (AJ) is giving us an immense reality that for: “Verily Me, Allah (AJ), and My Angels.” We don’t care for the angels right now, the Supreme is Allah (AJ) inAllahu. Yusaluna alan Nabi ﷺ that “My Dhikr, My Remembrance, My Hamd, all My Love is upon this reality of Sayyidina Muhammadﷺ”. [N]
We have Raised your Remembrance, O’ Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Then surat Inshirah, which we have to recite in our dhikr 7 times to open the Lataifs (levels) of the heart. Where Allah (AJ) wants in the Naqshbandi Awrad that recite Surat al Inshirah to understand that We are going to open your heart, We are going to open all your realities. “Wa rafa’na laka dhikrak” and “We have raised your dhikr throughout all of Allah (AJ) ‘s Creation”. “
وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ ﴿٤
94:4 – ” Wa rafa’na laka dhikrak.” (Surat ash Sharh)
”And raised high for you your remembrance.” (The Relief 94:4)
This is not for the jahil insan, these are not for the ignorant human beings on this Earth, that they are not understanding. Wa rafa’na laka dhikrak, this is the heart of Prophet ﷺ’s opening. Allah (AJ) is showing from Ahlul Basirah (people of divinely vision) those whose hearts are open. Our Sayyid, our master Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ the first of whom, the best of whom, the one whom Allah (AJ) opened everything and everything is from the reality of Muhammadun Rasulullah ﷺ (Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the Messenger of Allah). Look in your soul and look to this Creation, everything is praising you ya Rasulullah, Allah (AJ) says that: “wa rafana laka dhikrak” “We have raised your remembrance” [N]
Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ’s Name is on All of Paradises
Allah (AJ) says, your name is on all of Paradises. If your name is there, Allah (AJ) is not sitting there. He says: I named it for you, it is for you. Allah (AJ) doesn’t care for Creation, Allah (AJ) does not make Himself to be small and sit somewhere. Allah (AJ) is the Creator, beyond ocean of creation. Only now they begin to let us to understand, that all this creation, and all its reality is under Muhammadun Rasulullah ﷺ.[N]
أَحْمَدُ مَكْتُوْبٌ، عَلَى الْجِنَانِ صَلَّى عَلَيْكَ اللهُ فِي الْأَحْيَانِ
Ahmad du’maktubu ‘alal jinani
Salla ’alayk Allah hu’ fil ahyani
Ahmad (Muhammad (ﷺ), whose name is written all over the walls of paradise,
May Allah shower His blessings upon you,
What is Zikr of Malaika (Angels)?
“Wa rafa’na laka dhikrak”, “We raised your remembrance”, your praise is everywhere. Everything is held by Malaika and the Malaika are making salawats on Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Everything in Paradise, everything from Mulk to Malakot is held together with Malaika, and the angels are praising upon Prophet ﷺ. Allahumma salli ala Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ wa ala aali Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. All of the dhikr of angels is the praising upon Sayyidina Muhammad, and all of that is sustaining.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ، وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَ سَلِّمْ.
Allahumma salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa ‘ala aali Sayyidina Muhammadin wa Sallim.
O Allah! Send Peace and blessings upon Muhammad and upon the Family of Muhammad (Peace be Upon him)
What is the Zikr of Allah (AJ)?
Then what is the dhikr of Allah (AJ)? Because the salawats the angels are making. The dhikr of Allah (AJ) upon the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is the Holy Qur’an. The dhikr of Allah (AJ) is the Holy Qur’an. What Allah (AJ) is going to make a dhikr of? Allah (AJ)’s Uncreated Words, Allah (AJ)’s Izza and Might is the Holy Qur’an. And Allah (AJ)’s salutations upon Prophet ﷺ is the best of what Allah (AJ) has to offer. The best of what Allah (AJ) has to offer are the Lights of Holy Qur’an that are being recited upon the soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. “Alamal Quran. wa khalaqal insan” (Quran 55:2-3)
عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ ﴿٢﴾ خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ ﴿٣
55:2-3 – “’Allamal Qur’an. Khalaqal Insaan.” (Surat Ar Rahman)
”It is He Who has taught the Qur’an. (2) He has created Man. (3)” (Holy Quran, The Beneficent 55: 2-3)
That Allah (AJ)’s all realities are dressed upon the soul of Prophet ﷺ and then Allah (AJ) says in Surat Najm: “wa alamnahu shadidan quwwa.” ‘The One whom is sending this Light upon your reality is immense in power,’ it is the source of all power, the source of all realities. That when Allah (AJ) is dressing the Lights upon Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, it is the Lights of Holy Qur’an. As a result everything is in that Light.
وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ ﴿١﴾ مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ ﴿٢﴾ وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ ﴿٣﴾ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَىٰ ﴿٤﴾ عَلَّمَهُ شَدِيدُ الْقُوَىٰ ﴿٥﴾ ذُو مِرَّةٍ فَاسْتَوَىٰ ﴿٦﴾
53: 1-6 “Wan Najmi idha hawa. (1) Ma dalla sahibukum wa ma ghawa. (2) Wa ma yantiqu ‘anil hawa. (3) In huwa illa wahyun yooha. (4) ‘Allamahu shadeedul Quwa.(5) Dho mirratin fastawa. (6)”
(Surah An-Najm)
“By the star when it descends. (1) Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred. (2) Nor does he speak from [his own] desire. (3) It is not but a revelation revealed.(4) He was taught by one Mighty in Power. (5) One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form. (6) (The Star, 53:1-6)
Then Allah (AJ) describes: “We gave you the Kawthar (abundance)” (Holy Quran 108:1), it’s beyond kathir, beyond immense; Kawthar is beyond immense. Means “I have given you the Holy Qur’an, it is the Light that dresses your reality, blesses your reality, is the power of all your reality, as a result you are the Kawthar of Allah (AJ)!”
إِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ الْكَوْثَرَ ﴿١﴾ فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ ﴿٢﴾
108:1-2 –“Inna ‘atayna kal kawthar (1)Fasali li rabbika wanhar. (2)
To thee (O Muhammad) we have granted the Fount (of Abundance) (1) So pray to your Lord and Sacrifice. (2) (Holy Quran, The Abundance)
All Awliyaullah, pious people are taking from Ashab an-Nabi, taking from Ahlul Bayt reached to the Kawthar! “Fasalli li rabbika wanhar.” “ So Pray to your lord and sacrifice. (108:2) If you want to drink from this Kawthar, live a life of sacrifice; sacrifice yourself, sacrifice your character, sacrifice everything that you have.
Prophet Moses (as) & Jesus (as) endured difficulties for Love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
That is what we have taught from the years before: Nabi Musa (Moses) (as) wants this reality. Allah (AJ) then describes a different way of understanding with Sayyidina Khidr (as). Allah (AJ) says to Musa (as), that “I am going to send you to one of My Muhammadiyun, Sayyidina Khidr (as), he is going to torture you, he is going to give you a good beating, he is going to argue and insult you the whole way,” and Nabi Musa (as) accepted. He is Kalimullah (Speaks with Allah (aj), he is from the highest of Prophets. Sayyidina Musa (as) says “for this love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ ya Rabbi I will gladly take that difficulty.”
The minute he met with Sayyidina Khidr he said, ‘Me and you we are not going to get along. How are you going to get along with someone whose knowledge is incomplete?’ (holy Quran 18:66-69) Astaghfirullah al ‘Azheem. How you can say that to Kalimullah (One who speak to Allah)? But he took his abuse for the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ .
قَالَ إِنَّكَ لَن تَسْتَطِيعَ مَعِيَ صَبْرًا ٦٧ وَكَيْفَ تَصْبِرُ عَلَىٰ مَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِ خُبْرًا ﴿٦٨
18:67-68 – “Qala innaka lan tastatee’a ma’iya sabra.(67) Wa kayfa tasbiru ‘ala ma lam tuhit bihi khubra (68)” (Surat Al Kahf)
“(Khidr (as)) said, “Verily you will not be able to have patience with me! (67) And how can you have patience about things which your understanding/knowledge is incomplete?” (Holy Quran, The Cave)
قَالَ سَتَجِدُنِي إِن شَاءَ اللَّـهُ صَابِرًا وَلَا أَعْصِي لَكَ أَمْرًا ﴿٦٩
18:69 – “Qala satajidunee in shaa Allahu sabiran wa la a’see laka amra.” (Surat al Kahf)
[Moses] said, “You will find me, if Allah wills, (truly) patient, and I will not disobey you in [any] order.” (The Cave)
Sayyidina ‘Isa (Jesus) (as) understood this reality and took his abuse to be with SayyidinaMuhammad ﷺ. He said, “Ya Rabbi I don’t want to die and see Prophet ﷺ I want to be Hayy, I want to be alive and see Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.” And Allah (AJ) accepted Sayyidina Isa ‘s dua in His Presence to bring him in his physicality to accept his Islam from Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ .
Awliya’s Life is in Zikr and they Follow the Zikr (Quran 36:11)
So Allah (AJ) ‘s dhikr, all the realities of Holy Qur’an, are dressing upon Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ: wa itabihu dhikran.” (Holy Quran, 36:11)
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ الرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْرٍ كَرِيمٍ ﴿١١
36:11 – “Innamaa tundhiru manit taba’az Zikra wa khashiyar Rahmaana bil ghaib, fabashshirhu bi maghfiratin wa ajrin kareem.” (Surat YaSeen)
“You can only warn one who follows the Zikr/remembrance and is conscious/fears the Most Merciful in unseen (world). So give that one good tidings of forgiveness and a most generous reward.”
Means these are the servants of Allah (AJ) whose life is in dhikr (divine’s remembrance). As a result of being from the people of dhikr, Allah (AJ) begins to open their hearts, that all My praisings upon this reality.
Prophet (ﷺ) is the Walking Quran (36:69)
Then Allah (AJ) describes in Surat Yaseen that what Prophet ﷺ is speaking to you is not poetry, there is no she’ir, there is no poetry in what he talks. How they play with Holy Qur’an in the tafsir? In one sentence Allah (AJ) describes, “He is not speaking poetry, he is the dhikr and the Qur’an:” inhuwa dhikrun wal Quran al mubin’ (36:69)
وَمَا عَلَّمْنَاهُ الشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنبَغِي لَهُ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ وَقُرْآنٌ مُّبِينٌ
36:69 – “Wa ma ‘allamnahu shi’ra wa ma yanbaghee lahu, in huwa illa dhikrun wa Quranun Mubeen.” (Surah YaSeen)
“We have not taught him (Prophet Muhammad) poetry, nor it is befitting for him. He (Prophet Muhammad) is not but Zikr (Remembrance/Praise) and the Clear Quran.” (Holy Quran, YaSeen 36:69)
Inahuwa dhikrun, that ‘hu’ was a description that Allah (AJ) was describing that, “ma alamna Hu” “that same hu doesn’t speak poetry to you, he is My Dhikr and he is the walking Qur’an, clear Qur’an.”
Prophet (ﷺ) is the ‘Imam Mubeen’ and everything is written upon his Soul (36:12)
In Surat Yaseen, verse 12, Allah (AJ) says; ‘imam al mubeen’. “And he ﷺ is the clear imam.”
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِي الْمَوْتَىٰ وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوا وَآثَارَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَاهُ فِي إِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿١٢
36:12 – “Inna nahnu nuhyil mawta wa naktubu ma qaddamo wa atharahum, wa kulla shayin ahsaynahu fee imamin mubeen.” (Surah Yaseen)
“Indeed it is We who bring dead to life and We record all their footprint of the past and every step they take in the future, and of all things We have taken account in a Perfected Clear Imam (leader/Prophet (ﷺ).” (Holy Quran 36:12)
In Malakot (heavens), everything is written upon the soul of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Why translate ‘ Imam’ as ‘book’, ‘a clear register’? No, there is no book! It is Allah’s (AJ) latest technology, not old technology ; there is no stone, and they are writing it with stone and chisel. Everything is written upon the soul of Prophet ﷺ. Every reality, every Qudrah and every power is upon the soul of Prophet ﷺ. [N]
What is the Salawat (Praising) of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ?
So that when Prophet ﷺ is teaching, “Make one praising upon me, one salawat, one durood upon me, and Allah (AJ) will allow my soul to come praise ten times upon your soul.”
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -: ” مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيَّ صَلَاةً وَاحِدَةً، صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرَ صَلَوَاتٍ، وَحُطَّتْ عَنْهُ عَشْرُ خَطِيئَاتٍ، وَرُفِعَتْ لَهُ عَشْرُ دَرَجَاتٍ “
“Qala Rasulullah (saws): “Man Salla `alaiya Salatan wahidatan, Sallallahu `alayhi `ashra Salawatin, wa Huttat `anhu `ashru khaTeatin, wa ruf`at lahu `ashru darajatin.”
Prophet Muhammad (saws) said: “Whoever sends blessings [Praises] upon me, God will shower His blessings upon him ten times, and will erase ten of his sins, and elevate [raise] his [spiritual] station ten times.”
Means when they begin to make durood shareef, excessive amounts of durood shareef, they are being dressed by Holy Qur’an! Prophet ﷺ’s salawat upon them are the Lights of Holy Qur’an. Then Allah (AJ) is describing at least these people, these Awliya (saints), they know what the dhikr of Allah (AJ) is. They know ‘warafana laka dhikrak’ “we have raised your remembrance/praising” (holy Quran ). That your name is everywhere and every light and every sound they hear is the praising of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. They know ‘huwa dhikrun wal quranil mubin.” “He is the Zikr and he is the Holy Quran.” (36:69)
Holy Quran is emanating from the Heart of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
That if you want to reach to ‘manzilil quran’ (house of Quran), it is the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. It is the fountain in which every reality, all the lights of Holy Qur’an are coming. So means then enter into the heart of Prophet ﷺ. That is why Prophet ﷺ was giving us the clue, “If you want Iman and you want faith, love me more than you love yourself.”
لاَ يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ وَالِدِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ ”.
“La yuminu ahadukum hatta akona ahabba ilayhi min walidihi wa waladihi wan Nasi ajma’yeen.”
“None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind.” Prophet Muhammad (saws)
If you love, you entering to the heart of that one. When you are praising upon the one whom you love, that one is loving you and praising upon you. That love relationship is what brings the souls closer and closer and closer, where they are Ahlil Basirah (People of divinely vision).
Awliya Take the hardship for the Love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
Allah (AJ) describes in Holy Qur’an: No one understand these realities except the people of tafakkur (contemplation).
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعاً مِّنْهُ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لَّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
45:13 – “Wa sakhkhara lakum ma fis Samawati wa ma fil Ardi jamee’an minhu, inna fee dhalika la ayatin liqawmin yatafakkaron.” (Surat al Jathiya)
“And He has subjected/gave the authority to you [Sayyidina Mahmood (saws)], as from Him, all that is in the heavens and on earth: Behold, in that are Signs indeed for those who reflect/Contemplate [Meditate].” ( Holy Quran, The Crouching, 45:13)
Because the Ahlil Basirah stop and they contemplate and they are continuously in contemplation. They are continuously trying to fix themselves and their bad character. They understood from these realities of Awliyaullah that you must be beaten, you must be brought down, you must be inflicted with difficulty, why? To show your love for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Those whom are taken advantage of, they are from these Awliya. Means they put difficulty upon themselves.
Awliya busy their life spreading love, they busy their lives spreading goodness. And people busy themselves trying to kill them, trying to destroy them, trying to backbite them. They say that if you kill someone one time, it is just once and they are finished, but when you slander and you backbite a servant of Allah (AJ), it is as if you killed him a thousand times. They keep putting daggers, keep putting daggers, and insult and slander the servants of Allah (AJ) .
The guides teach that, “You must go through that, you must go through. You did not seek the fame of this world, you did not seek the recognition of this world.” Look to the Moon, it is all alone in the dark sky. It feels itself all alone, all it looks around–the Arabic word for darkness is zulm–the Moon is surrounded by zulm, by oppression. It sees nothing around. And the Moon’s surface is continually bombarded. They are teaching that, “you take that bombarding for the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, to show Prophet ﷺ that you didn’t come for these things.
وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمُ اللَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ النَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ ﴿٣٧﴾
36:37 “Wa Aayatul lahumul lailu naslakhu minhun nahaara fa-izaa hum muzlimoon.” (Surat YaSeen)
“And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness.”
Awliya forgive and pray for those who harm them
Awliya teach “that you pray for the people who are continuously trying to attack you, and that you forgive them, and that Allah (AJ) raises them by your dua.” There are some people who can achieve through good character and they try to have good character and do good things. There are people who cannot achieve through good character, so that do stupid things. Allah (AJ) asks from these people who are bombarded that: pray for them, pray that Allah (AJ) forgives them.
Sayyidina ‘Isa (Jesus) (as) and all the prophets said “Forgive them My Lord, for they know not what they do.” But as a means of what they are doing, Awliyaullah will still lift them and forgive them. All of that is to open up that reality. So the prophets are the example that, “We are going to take difficulty to show our love, we are going to take difficulty to show the way of humility.” Then those whom difficulty is inflicted upon, these are those whom Allah (AJ) loves dearly.
We must be Tested – With every contraction, there is Expansion
If your shaykh or anyone inflicts difficulty upon you, if they are true, and they are not backbiting and slanderous people. If they are pious people, means they are lifting you, means they are showing you a sign from Allah (AJ) that Allah (AJ) ‘s Rida and satisfaction is upon you and that they want to raise your darajat. There is no rise without contraction, there is contraction then expansion. At every moment in their life, there must be a contraction and expansion, a crushing and a release, a crushing and a release. These are the only ways that these darajats can be achieved.
So in our life every difficulty we face is because we inherit from them. If we are sitting in their associations, it doesn’t only happen to them, it’s going to happen to all of you because they are reflecting their life unto everyone who sits with them. Means in every mushkilat, every type of difficulty, Allah (AJ) is reminding: are you going to take this bitterness, are you going to just complain and get angry or are you going to take this for the love of Sayyidina Muhammad? That Allah (AJ) wants something.
Sayyidina Bilal’s (as) Love and Sacrifice
Sahabi (companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) want to come and teach us. Why did Sayyidina Bilal (as) suffer so much? If not ‘alayhis salaam’ (Peace be upon him) upon Sayyidina Bilal, I don’t know who Allah (AJ) will send salaams upon? Why was he tortured so badly? Why didn’t the torture stop earlier? Allah (AJ) wants something from His servant. Allah (AJ) wants to see the extent of how much this Companion is going to endure of difficulty.
We said many times before, it is not about Allah (AJ). You can believe in Allah (AJ) and nobody will bother you, nobody will know who you are. As soon as you believe, and you want to follow the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ , they know exactly who you are. And his Companions are Muhamadiyun. And they were telling Sayyidina Bilal, “Leave that, leave that belief and we will set you free.” He said, “Impossible, impossible.”
He was crushed and crushed and crushed, until his dhikr was, “Ahad, Ahad (The One and Only).” Means he reached to the highest levels of firasat (spiritual vision). He went into the heart of Wahid (the Unique one) and Prophet ﷺ showed from that heart and that Light, “Now look, and what you see at that Light is the reality of Ahad.” Abdul Ahad (servant of Ahad), and its realities and its dresses, is what Sayyidina Bilal al Habashi is teaching for us. “That we are endured difficulty for the love of Prophetﷺ.”
Let everything enter into its difficulty, whatever mushkilat we have in life, endure it for the love of Sayyidina Muhammad. That Ya Rabbi, if that is what you are asking of me inshaAllah (AJ) give me strength but, at least bring me near and fragrance me with the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. If I see Prophet ﷺ’s happy smile we can go for more crushing, no problem.
جِئْتُ شَوْقًا وَغَرَامًا فِيْ هَوَا قَلْبِيْ حَسَنْ رَاجِيْاً مِنْهُ اِبْتِسَاماً مَنْ لَهُ رُوْحِيْ ثَمَنْ
Jitu shawqan wa gharaaman, fi hawa qalbi Hassan
Rajiyan minhubi thaman man lahu ruhi thaman
I came full of love and yearning, and my heart full of good desire,
Hoping a smile from him, for whom I sacrifice my soul
Awliya have ‘Khashiya’ (Sincere Heart) and understand reality of ‘Ar Rahman’ (Quran 36:11)
Then what Allah (AJ) describes in Surat YaSeen: “itabihu dhikran wa khashiyar rahmanu bil ghaib” (36:11)
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ الرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْرٍ كَرِيمٍ ﴿١١
36:11 – “Innamaa tundhiru manit taba’az Zikra wa khashiyar Rahmaana bil ghaib, fabashshirhu bi maghfiratin wa ajrin kareem.” (Surat YaSeen)

‘Khashiya’ means they have a crushed, sincere heart. They have a heart that has been through many difficulties. They understood Siffate ‘Rahman bil ghaib’, not what people are understanding. They translate, “They follow the reminder and they fearth the beneficent in secret.” Not only they fear the beneficent in secret but they are from the people of Basirah (divinely vision)! They are the people of the heart, that their whole life is ‘bil ghaib’ (unseen); it’s not from the physical world. So Allah (AJ) is talking to them. “O you who are from the people of the ghaib, you see what people don’t see, you understand what people don’t understand. That you understood this crushing from Siffat ar Rahman,” and you understood “al arshis tawa”:
الرَّحْمَـٰنُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوَىٰ ﴿٥
20:5 – “ArRahmanu ‘alal ‘arshi istawa.”( Surah Taha)
“The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established.” (Holy Quran)
The authority of that Siffat ar Rahman. That Siffat ar Rahman is all that governs this Mulk (material world) and Siffat ar Raheem governs Malakot (heavens). Awliya understood, this again is a description of Prophet ﷺ, the one whom is the authority of Siffat ar Rahman. That you are connecting not in the seen, but in the unseen world ‘bil ghaib’. That in your heart you are connecting. And you have khushiya, you have a fear, you have understanding, you have haiba, that whatever order and dhikr comes from this authority it is completely ‘samina wa atana’ (we heard and we obey) (holy Quran 2:285).
سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا غُفْرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَاِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيْرُ
2:285 – “…Sam’ina wa ata’na, ghufranaka Rabbana wa ilaykal masir.” (Surat al Baqarah)
“…We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys.” (Holy Quran, 2:285)
Awliya Follow the Commands of ‘Ar Rahman’ from the Unseen World (36:11)
There is no debate, whatever order comes from Prophet ﷺ that “You are about to endure this,” they say, “Samina wa atana’ ‘We heard, and we obey”. Means all of this when Allah(AJ) is describing these Awliya that their itibah, when they are following the dhikr, means they are following the commands of this Siffat ar Rahman bil ghaib, not through the world that you see, but through the spiritual practices they see that authority, and they follow that authority.
Allah (AJ) describes, “These people have been given maghfirah. They are the ones whom I have given immense forgiveness.” “….Fa bashirhu bi maghfiratin wa ajran kareem.” (holy Quran 36:11)
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ الرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْرٍ كَرِيمٍ ﴿١١﴾
36:11 – “Innamaa tundhiru manit taba’az Zikra wa khashiyar Rahmaana bil ghaib, fabashshirhu bi maghfiratin wa ajrin kareem.” (Surat YaSeen)

‘That they are the people of maghfirah’ that everything upon them is forgiven. And ‘ajran kareem’, that ‘they have an immense and rich reward’, because of that love and because of what they endure. They are teaching for us to, take the way of pious people, take the way of these realities. That they are not taking orders from the physical but their orders and their commands, all of their teaching is ‘bil ghaib’ it is in the world that is not seen. The world that is not seen they are with them, and in that world, everything is clear, every order is clear.
Tafakkur and Connect Your Heart to the Unseen world
This dunya is the world of chaos and now is a deceitful one coming. A deceitful one is coming onto this Earth. They want for us that as much as we are making your physical world to be confusing, you should not be taking your faith from that physical world. You should have been practising your bil ghaib, you should have been practising your tafakkur (contemplation), you should have been practising through your heart, to make a connection with them. And in that World of Light, it is true, and there is no falsehood. In that World of Light every isharat and every order is going to come. And in that World of Light they are warning: that above ground everything is now going to be badly confusing.
Then they test amongst their students that, “Are you going to fall into that hands of Dajjal?” Means that if you meet a wali, you you meet a pious person, you follow them, your heart tells you their energy, your heart tells you their knowledges, your heart tells you everything. But somebody comes and confuses your mind, you are already in the hands of Dajjal. Why you didn’t use your heart to give you istiqam? Why you didn’t use your faith to give you istiqam, and firmness? Your heart should be in firmness that, “I am with them, my allegiance is to them, my belief is with them, I know my connection with them, and nothing on this physical world is going to shake me from that.”
Your faith will be Tested to Prepare you for the Dajjal
And boy are they going to come and test that! They are going to extreme testing, to a point where you think you are going to flip, like a torture class. They send you so much confusion that you think, “Okay, I am just going to come against this shaykh, I am going to come against this person.” And they want to see what is your breaking point?
Then the world of the unseen comes and warns: hold tight, it’s going to pass, hold tight, Allah (AJ) is testing you, Allah (AJ) is testing you to take you higher. Allah (AJ) is testing you to prepare you for this Dajjal coming upon this Earth when nobody will be safe. And all magic will be appearing. Everything through your eyes will be of deceit. But Allah (AJ) won’t allow Dajjal to deceit those who operate from their heart. Whatever they see from the physical, they enter into their heart, and their shaykhs are there, Awliyaullah are there, Prophet ﷺ is there guiding them that, “Pay no attention to what you are seeing on top.”
We pray that Allah (AJ) gives us an understanding, to understand why we are being crushed in our lives. Don’t say, “Shaykh is only being crushed,” all of you are being crushed, all of you have difficulty in your lives. They want something from us. When the crushing comes on the outside, it is not about sitting and crying. It is about how to meditate, how to contemplate. Ya Rabbi I am disgusted from this outside. They say, “Yes go back into your qabr, go back into your heart. This outside world is disgusting. Go back into your heart, where you will be with us.” Build your heart connection inshaAllah (AJ) .
Be Aware of the Munafiq (Hypocrite) Within Yourself
Alhamdulillah this is the month of ‘khalwa’ not halwa [Laughter]. Rajab (7th lunar month) is the month of khalwa and they teach, why? Put all of these understandings you have to go into that khalwa. That Allah (AJ) wants to open something, it’s the month of Surat al Munafiqun. Why would Rajab have the 63rd surah and the 63rd surah is called munafiq? Warning because everyone has a munafiq inside, everyone has a munafiq. Don’t worry about the munafiq outside. Munafiq is a hypocrite but worry about the munafiq inside.
The munafiq inside they keep telling you…mmmm you pretend like you are with him but you wait till you are going to flip him. And there is one in all of us, and that is the one that they want to destroy. They want to keep testing, keep testing, keep testing, “Is your inner munafiq about to jump out then now take control of who you are and flip your whole relation?” Hypocrite says that he is with you, and he is just waiting for a day, like a wrestling match to take you down. So like friends who say they are with you, as soon as you get sick, they kick you. “Hey what happened? We heard you lost your job?” As soon as you are in a position of weakness, they want to destroy you.
That inner munafiq is though this testing. Prophet ﷺ wants to see that that inner munafiq has to be destroyed. “We are going to increase your testing to where you can’t imagine and see that if you are going to bring that hypocrite out,” and recant and negate everything that you were teaching and believing. We pray that Allah (AJ) saves us all from these bad characteristics and by the Lights of Rajab, Shaban and Ramadan that Allah (AJ) to annihilate these bad characteristics inshaAllah (AJ), ameen.
