Surrender Your Will to Reach a Higher Level
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi.
A’udhu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the rejected one
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat An-Nisa)
“… Obey Allah, Obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
Ana abdukal ‘ajeez, wa dayeef, wa miskin, wa zhalim, wa jahl and but for the Grace of Allah (AJ) that we are still in existence. That we talked on this month of realities and Subhana man huwal Khaliq anNur (Glory to Him who is the Creator, the Light).
Divine Law Binds Us All On the Circumference Towards the Center Nucleus
And Surat al-Munafiq, that people under the impression zakat is one. But we have from everything ilm ul-shari’ah (knowledge of Divine Law) and the realities of what shari’ah’s asking and that’s cause and effect and the reality of this earth that you can’t change the sun moving from east to west. It’s fixed. Ilm ul-tariqah (knowledge of spiritual path), ilm ul-ma’rifah (knowledge of gnosticism) and ilm al-haqiqah (knowledge of reality) and ilm ul-azimah (knowledge of determination). Like a circle, the shari’ah (Divine Law) is what binds us all on this circumference, nothing can leave the circumference. Its center is one.
So, the atom is a symbol of ilm ul-shari’ah (knowledge of Divine Law). Everything is on the circumference and everything from the circumference is taking its power from the nucleus. So then the center is our goal; the nucleus is the goal. Ilm ul-tariqah is that what connects you from the circumference into the nucleus. So, they call it a radius, a Rasul. A Rasul’s purpose is to come and connect you to the circumference and bring you to the center and amanar Rasul is that then all the prophets brought you to the same center and they’re all brothers reaching the same circumference. Reaching all of creation, come back to the nucleus.
(Surat Al-Baqarah)
“The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], ‘We make no distinction between any of His messengers…’. And they say, “We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination.” (The Cow, 2:285)
The Path of Tariqah Directs You to Ma’rifah
So, the knowledges must be based on also the tariqah (spiritual path), the way to go back to the center. Most of people practicing religion and all religions are only shari’ah (Divine Law), only the do’s, don’ts and the wrong. They don’t really follow Qur’an, they follow furqan, the world of right and wrong, everything right and wrong. They didn’t take a path to the center otherwise they would have been on a tariq (path).
So, then the knowledges of tariqah, as soon as you stepped on the tariqah, you’re now in a direction of ma’rif, ma’rifah (gnosticism). You are from the meem, the Muhammadan arifeen (knowers). And you’re taking a guide that has gone to the center and came back. Not somebody who read about it but whose heart went to the center, died, and Allah (AJ) sent it back to the circumference and now you have an ijazah (permission) to guide.
Find Your Path and Stay Firm On It
So, then their knowledges must be at a level of ma’rifah. From ma’rifah (gnosticism) every step towards the center, you’re going closer, everything that they’re now going to talk to you like a tour guide. We’re getting closer, we took another step, here comes another haqiqah, a haqaiq, a reality and truth.
So, every step that they’re bringing of realities are truths that are coming. And as they get closer and closer to the truth, then they become unspoken realities of azimah because it’s not meant to be propagated openly all over the internet. So, there’s a knowledge at every level. Zakat on the circumference 2.5% – come on, give something from what Allah (AJ) has given to you. As soon as you stepped on the radius, Allah (AJ) inspired you, take the tariq istiqam-fi-tariqat. Be firm on this path now.
72:16 – “Wa alla wis taqaamoo ‘alat tareeqati la asqaynaahum maa’an ghadaqaa” (Surat Al-Jinn)
“And [Allah revealed] that: “If they had only remained firm on their tariqa (straight path), We would have bestowed on them Rain/water in abundance. ” (The Jinn, 72:16)
Real Jihad is the Battle Against Yourself
Soon as you stepped on the tariq, then Allah (AJ) said, ‘No, no, no, this is now your jihad. You’re going to give 10-20% or more of whatever you make in life. At that time, people hear and say, ‘What? I’m out!’ Get out. Allah (AJ) want their jihad to be real, their fight Jihad al-Akbar is against themselves and this what people worship has to be brought down and they give with their life in tariqah.
“An Jabiru qala, ‘qadema ‘ala Rasulullahi (saws) qawmun ghazatun, faqalan Nabiyu Sallallahu Alayhi was Salaam: ” Qademtum khaira maqdamin min jihadil Asghar ilal Jihadil Akbar.” Qeela “wa ma al Jihadil Akbar?” Qala “Mujahidatul ‘Abdi hawahu.”
Jabir (as) narrated: ‘Some warriors came to the Holy Prophet. He (Muhammad (s)) said to them, “Welcome back, you came from minor Jihad/Struggle to the greater Struggle.”
It was asked, ‘what is the greater/big struggle Oh Prophet of Allah?” The Prophet (pbuh) replied: “it is the servant’s fight against his own Self/mundane wills/desires.” (Bayhaqi Kitab ul Zuhd-al-Kabir)
Ulil Ahbab Inherited the Sword of Imam Ali (as)
And we said that ayatul kareem, this baab of this ahbab, they’re ulil ahbab. They are the people of the door, the one’s teaching you this reality and they are ahbab-e-Nabi ﷺ. They are the peoples of the door.
39:18 – “Allazeena yastami’oonal qawla fayattabi’oona ahsanah; ulaaa’ikal lazeena hadaahumul laahu wa ulaaa’ika hum ulul albaab.” (Surat Az-Zumar)
“Who listen to speech and follow the best of it. Those are the ones Allah has guided, and those are people of understanding [People of the Door].” (The Troops, 39:18)
They inherited the safe and the sword of Imam Ali (as) and that sword is the secret of Lam-Alif. And with this reality of Lam-Alif of the two rivers, they’re going to take your head off. Don’t think with your head, come with your heart, give until it hurts. We’re going through the door that is your tariq. As soon as you moving on the tariq, then the zakat of ma’rifah. This zakat of ma’rifah is that be of service. The money you gave and property you gave very good, but Allah (AJ) asking you for this maqamul Iman (station of faith). Are you going to get there without giving what people have given before of their life, of their property, of their family, of their time, of their entire existence?
Find Your Shaykh and Hold Tight – Storms Are Coming!
So, the shaykh encourages the student in the zakat of ma’rifah – be of service, have a khidmat. As soon as you have a khidmat, it means as soon as you learn to serve the way, serve your tariq, you have a purpose in life. You have a nazar (gaze) from them, the shuyukh of the tariqah (spiritual path). Don’t worry about in the physical world if they look scattered, that’s their job. This physical world is not the world of solidarity and unity. It’s the world of confusion, the abode of confusion.
The world of akhirah is singular. It’s an ocean of one light where everything goes and becomes one. This world is confusion so whoever you follow, whoever you love, hold tight. They’re gonna whip you around in all sorts of different directions. And then they want to see that you have istiqam again (Qur’an, 72:16), you have firmness in your service to the shaykh.
If you believe in his dawah and the mission that he has, serve it. If you don’t, find somebody that you do. But don’t be out there strangling all by yourself like a lost dog, lost puppy out in the wind. The storms are coming and these puppies will be blown away in the wind. Find whomever you love. If you think their dawah is right and is something you want to support, support it but tie your foot to it. Don’t bounce around in 20 different directions because you don’t know when you untie yourself, that’s maybe when the wind comes. Somebody untied themselves now. They can’t have access to anything here. That wasn’t a timely thing to do.
Every Nation Experienced Salvation Through La Ilaha Illallah Muhammadun RasulAllah
So, in your life the zakat of ma’rifah is, ‘Ya Rabbi, let me bind my foot and my hand with that way. I want to serve that way. I believe in what they’re doing and I want to put my being to do it.’ When they did that and they were firm and these were all working at the same time, then Prophet ﷺ will begin to instruct that give them the zakat of haqiqah. And the zakat of haqiqah is to do a khidmat of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. You’re being trained to serve the shaykh.
Now Prophet ﷺ asking, ‘You serve me. I want your khidmat for me and what I’m asking from you is that I want to bring you into my ocean. But in my ocean, I don’t accept any shaykh. I don’t accept any wali (saint). I don’t accept any prophet of Allah (AJ). I only accept my presence.’ It’s Allah’s (AJ) Command, Prophet’s ﷺ very humble and would never speak like that. Allah’s (AJ) Command, Allah (AJ) saying, ‘I’m going to take you on this haqaiq and you have no permission to show yourself as anything in the presence of My Beloved.’
Sayyidina Adam (as) Was Forgiven When He Mentioned Sayyidina Muhammad’s ﷺ Name
And that’s why they understood that all the salvations of Muharram were all under the azimah and salvation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Every nation took to its punishment, its najat (salvation) came from Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. When Sayyidina Adam (as) brought us onto this earth and whatever he did wrong, until he mentioned the name of Sayyidina Muhammad, Ya Hamid bi Haqq Muhammad ﷺ.
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Ya Hamidu bi Haqqi Muhammad ﷺ, Ya ‘Aliyu be Haqqi ‘Ali (as), Ya Khaliqu bi Haqqi Fatimatuz Zahra (as), Ya Rahmanu bi Haqqi Hassan (as), Ya Raheemu bi Haqqi Hussain (as).”
In the name of Allah, the Most compassionate, the Most Merciful
O’ the Praiseworthy for the sake of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), O’ the Most High for the sake of Imam ‘Ali (as), O’ the Creator for the sake of Fatima Zahra (as), O the Most Compassionate for the sake of Imam Hassan (as), O’ the Most Merciful for the sake of Imam Hussain (as).
At that time, he got the attention and said, ‘Now you’ve been crushed and you understand your risalat (messengership) will not save you in my presence. You accept me as Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ, not la ilaha illallah Adam RasulAllah, la ilaha illAllah Musa RasulAllah, la ilaha illAllah Isa RasulAllah.’ Each of them in this zakat of haqaiq have to give back what Allah (AJ) gave to them.
Surrender Allah’s (AJ) Greatest Gift to Us – Our Will
What you’re going to give back, you gave your cash – Allah (AJ) doesn’t really need it. That was to clean you. What Allah (AJ) needs from us, what He gave us.
What is the greatest gift Allah (AJ) has given to us? My will, my will. Ya Rabbi, I’m coming to the tariqah (spiritual path) to surrender my will. I don’t want to choose. They call that in other groups the prayer of serenity. How millions of alcohol and drug addicts are finding recovery by surrendering. They surrendered to a power higher than themselves. They surrender their will and they understand that when I choose, it’s all wrong. You [Allah (AJ)] make the choice for me. When it’s things that I can’t comprehend and understand, my lord, you choose for me, Ya Rabbi. Allah (AJ) then put your will on the table. I want that back. I gave it as a gift. If you truly want to give your zakat, give your will back to me in which to surrender their will. So, then every Prophet of Allah (AJ), they have to leave their risalat (messengership) to enter into la ilaha illallah Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ.
“La ilaha illallahu Muhammadun Rasulallah”
“There is no deity but Allah, Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
Prophets Annihilated Their Annihilation By Seeking Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
So, Sayyidina Adam (as) realized that du’a (supplication) is not going to be answered. 40 years cried until he remembered what he saw and say, “Ya Hamid bi Haqq Muhammad” and began to mention words. Allah (AJ) said and he mentioned words to his lord. At that time, Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ accepted his tawba (repentance) and said, ‘Now that you’ve acknowledged Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ, you’re admitted into that presence.’
Sayyidina Ibrahim (as), Qulna ya Naaru kuni Bardan wa Salaman.
21:69 – “Qulna ya Naaru, kuni Bardan wa Salaman ‘ala Ibrahim.” (Surat Al-Anbiya)
“We said, O fire, be cool and Peaceful upon Abraham.” (The Prophets, 21:69)
They throw him into a fire and that fire, its najat (salvation) and coolness and peacefulness is through Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. And Sayyidina Isa (as) all the difficulties and burdens that he took of torture and pain is that, ‘I don’t want to be anything and I’m going to be abused by these people. But, ya Rabbi, don’t let me to die to see Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Raise me unto Your Presence and bring me back in the last days.’ And his du’a (supplication) was accepted. To be raised in the presence and to come back to and be from Ummatul Muhammadur RasulAllah ﷺ. So, it means they annihilated their annihilation.
Sayyidina Khidr (as) Was Sent to Humiliate Nabi Musa (as)
And the most famous of their teaching, Sayyidina Musa (as). So, this zakat of haqaiq (reality), Nabi Musa (as) was told if you want la ilaha illallah Muhammadun RasulAllah, go and be humiliated by my servant. One of these Muhammadan guides then, Sayyidina Khidr (as), Sayyidina Abbas Khidr (as) is on the Naqshbandi Silsila. This means that reality runs through Naqshbandiya and he said, ‘Go, go to this Naqshbandi Shaykh. He’s going to humiliate you and you’re going to take the humiliation for the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’ And we say, how was Sayyidina Khidr (as) talking to Nabi Musa (as) like that? ‘Uh! You don’t have any patience. You don’t even know any of these things and in the end please go away.’
18:67-68 – “Qala innaka lan tastatee’a ma’iya sabra. (67) Wa kayfa tasbiru ‘ala ma lam tuhit bihi khubra. (68)” (Surat Al-Kahf)
“(The Other) said, Verily you will not be able to have patience with me! (67) And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge? (68)” (The Cave, 18:67-68)
&
18:78 – “Qaala haazaa firaaqu bainee wa bainik; sa unabi ‘uka bitaaweeli maa lam tastati’ ‘alaihi sabraa” (Surat Al-Kahf)
“He answered: ‘This is the parting between me and thee: now will I tell thee the interpretation of (those things) over which thou wast unable to hold patience.'” (The Cave, 18:78)
How do you talk to a prophet like that? And Nabi Musa (as) samina wa atana (heard and obeyed). Whatever you say, I’m accepting.
Tariqah Teaches Us to Keep Silent and Take the Testing
And what Prophet ﷺ wants from us is then don’t talk, don’t speak, don’t give answer back, don’t give credit to your ego. That take, take every type of difficulty and keep silent on your way, on your tariq. It’s not about work, it’s about your tariq. Your tariqah comes and teaches you on this way of love – don’t ever talk, don’t ever give a sign of yourself, don’t ever give an explanation of yourself, don’t complain.
If you complain and use the channel and the relationship with your shaykh as the testing becomes harder, he will cut you from the presence because the test is about to become very bad. You’ll be cut from the presence so that you can make your connection with Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ because the complaining not going to help. The complaining was the surrendering, that was the zakat. If you’re coming for love, Prophet’s ﷺ going to ask, ‘Why are you coming to me as a shaykh? I’m going to crush you.’ They coming now crush you, be nothing, be nothing. Come with love. Come with love and they take every difficulty as a muhabbat and love for Prophet ﷺ. And that’s why in these naat, they say kohe gham. My gham, my sadness is like a mountain.
Seek the Satisfaction of Allah (AJ)
I cannot give an answer with my mouth. I can not run away from the difficulty. All I can do is pray to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, pray to Allah (AJ) but pray at the feet of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That grant me your nazar, grant me your nazar because they’re not praying for a relief. That, ya Prophet ﷺ, be happy with us, Ilahi anta maqsudi wa radhaaka matlubi. That, ya Rabbi, be happy with us that Prophet ﷺ to give us an audience.
“Ilahi anta maqsudi wa radhaaka matlubi”
“My God, You are my aim, and Your Satisfaction is what I seek.”
Take Difficulty For Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
So, it means this zakat of haqaiq is they took difficulty and gham in their way and they didn’t complain everyday. They didn’t nag and look for somebody to whine to and cry to and make every type of difficulty. And when they did, they reminded within their heart, take the difficulty for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. If this world gives you a title and gives you some sort of recognition, it’s not valid for Allah (AJ). What’s valid for Allah (AJ) is if this world come against you and I’m bringing you deep in My Divinely Presence. If this world curses you, I’m bringing you in my Divinely Presence.
That’s why then the qalam al awliya (words of saints) is not understood by ulema (scholars). They said you’re not a real wali until thousands of ulema curse you. Before they used to throw rocks at them. What kind of thing is this you’re talking about? Abu Yazid al-Bistami (Q), they were stoning him – not only the people, the ulema of the area. It means they took hardship for this love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and that was all in Qul in kuntum tuhibboonal laaha fattabi’oonee yuhbibkumul laahu.
3:31 – “Qul in kuntum tuhibbon Allaha fattabi’oni, yuhbibkumullahu…” (Surat Ali-Imran)
“Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you …” (Family of Imran, 3:31)
If you really following and want the love of Prophet ﷺ, Allah’s (AJ) saying, I’m going to grant you my love if you take a little bit more of this difficulty. Don’t give an answer. Don’t give a fight. Don’t do anything for this love. I’m going to grant you My Divinely Love. Do you want that or you want to be recognized by people? You want people to give you a credit and think everybody else did something wrong, you’re doing everything right? No, you should tell people, ‘I’m doing everything wrong and they’re doing everything right.’
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
