I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the rejected one
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillahi Rabb al-‘Alameen, as-salaatu wa salaamu ashraf al-mursaleen. Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ. Madad yaa sayyidi Sultan al-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani, madad yaa sayyidi ya Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani. Unzur haalana isfalana bi madadakum bi nazarakum. Alhamdulillah, asking enter into Allah’s (AJ) Oceans of Rahmah and to be nothing and to share from their teachings, always for myself.
Muraqabah is the Ultimate Stage in Our Spiritual Journey
A reminder in the understandings of muraqabah (spiritual connection). That many people talking, many different sites describing. And from Naqshbandiyya al-Aliyya and authorized sites, authorized teachings. This is the finale of a spiritual path. The muraqabah and to make the connection with the heart, make the connection with the soul is the ultimate stage. It’s not the beginning stage of the tariq (way). It’s a path in which we enter the door. Its ultimate result is to be in a state of tafakkur and contemplation, tazakkir (remembrance), and to remember what Allah (AJ) has bestowed upon the soul. ‘Alam al-Qur’an, khalaq al-insan,” that Allah (AJ) has bestowed many Divine treasures upon the soul. And the entry and doorway into that reality is through the heart.
﴾عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ ﴿٢﴾ خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ ﴿٣
55:2-3 – “Allamal Qur’an (2). Khalaqal Insaan (3).” (Surat Ar Rahman)
”It is He Who has taught the Qur’an. (2) He has created Mankind. (3)” (The Beneficent, 55:2-3)
Realities of the Heart Only Opens Through Tafakkur and Muraqabah (Spiritual Connection)
Mawlana Shaykh describing the realities that awliyaullah (saints) have been given through the opening of their heart. Those realities of the heart cannot be achieved except through the door of tafakkur (contemplation) and muraqabah (spiritual connection). That it is the state of that reality that opens all the realities and the treasures of the heart. That the haqaiq (realities) of juzba and attraction is not from us. The reality of faiz and emanation is not from us. It’s not something that it’s our secret but the muraqabah (spiritual connection) will open for us, the tafakkur will open for us presence of muhabbat (love).
This means they begin to teach, so these realities of the heart, they will not open without that muraqabah and without that sort of finale stage in which the students achieve the states in which Allah (AJ) wants to dress them. That that tawassul (conveying), tawajju (focusing), all these realities, the haqaiq of irshad (guidance), the haqaiq of tayy and movement – movement through the tongue and movement through the body – that these realities cannot open without the state of tafakkur and muraqabah.
This means they describe the realities of the heart, the treasures of the heart, as a goal for us in which to want to achieve. Because they say, ‘Why take this path? Why take this difficulty? Why take these realities?’ And then they describe: these are the treasures in which Allah (AJ) has bestowed.
The Three Doors of Muhabbat, Hudur and Fana
Then they begin to teach that: the beginning door for that reality is the understanding of muraqabah. And the muraqabah has a state of muhabbat (love). Because they’re talking all sorts of things but they’re leaving out the essentials.
That they have the three doors which is: the first door of muhabbat, the door of hudur (presence) and the door of fana (annihilation). They take from the realities of Holy Qur’an – that would be another video and somebody more versed in Arabic – but Allah (AJ) says throughout holy Qur’an that, ‘wa Kono ma’as sadiqeen,’ that ‘have a consciousness of Allah (AJ), Keep the company of the sadiqeen.’
﴾يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّهَ وَكُونُوا مَعَ الصَّادِقِينَ ﴿١١٩
9:119 – “Ya ayyuhal ladheena amanoo ittaqollaha wa kono ma’as sadiqeen.” (Surat At-Tawba)
“O you who have believed, have consciousness of Allah and be with those who are truthful/ Pious /sincere (in words and deed).” (The Repentance, 9:119)
There is a Means to Approach Divine Presence
That Allah (AJ) says, seek realities but seek through a means towards Allah (AJ). ‘Hold tight to the rope of Allah (AJ) and don’t separate.’ (Qur’an 3:103) All of those were the signs in which Allah (AJ) is teaching that, ‘There is a way in which to approach My Divinely Presence’.
(Surat Ali-Imran)
“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not separate…” (Family of Imran, 3:103)
And Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem ‘Atiullaha wa atiur Rasul wa Ulil amre minkum.’
(Surat An-Nisa)
“O You who have believed, Obey Allah, Obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
It means through that holy ayat (verse), Mawlana Shaykh opening all these realities for us to understand that it is the obedience of Allah (AJ) that we want. We want to be obedient to Allah (AJ), we want to be obedient to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ; and Allah (AJ) grants a rahmah (mercy) through the ulul amr (saints).
Because the ulul amr (saints) are living amongst us, with us, so that we can eat with them, we can pray with them, we can be with them and they begin to dress us from that reality. We said many times, like a rope, Allah (AJ) describing from heavens: like a telescoped rope. It reaches to us to uplift us. And as it begins to uplift, it’s now lifting us to the reality of the heavens.
Realities Cannot Be Achieved By Our Self,
‘Self’ is Equivalent to ‘Ego’
Allah (AJ) is not expecting that we would do this by ourselves, that we would just come across some information and try to achieve a reality. That is virtually unachievable by the self, because it is the self that is causing all the problems. In the west, they’ve beautified the word ‘self’ where we call it the ‘ego’. You cannot rely on yourself, you cannot rely on your ego. You cannot trust yourself, you cannot trust your ego. You cannot be self-sufficient and ego-sufficient. It’s that bad character that’s blocking us from that reality.
We Cannot Reach Fana Without Muhabbat and Hudur
So then they begin to teach just the understanding of course 101 is these three doors. That if we want to reach to Allah (AJ), we have to go through Prophet ﷺ; from Prophet ﷺ, we have to be with the ulul amr (those in authority). So, our whole life will be based on our relationship with the ulul amr. And that ulul amr (saints), there are 124,000 that they reached to that reality of Holy Qur’an – that they are in obedience to Allah (AJ), they are in obedience towards Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and they are in obedience to the ulul amr, the people of authority above them, below them. That they have the akhlaq and character which Allah (AJ) had opened within their soul, sainthood.
So from that reality they teach that there has to be the stage of muhabbat (love). And they’re going to teach us at the three levels. There has to be muhabbat, there has to be the hudur (presence) and that muhabbat and hudur will begin to open the fana and the relationship of annihilation.
Muhabbat, Hudur and Fana in Shaykh and in Prophet ﷺ Opens Love of Allah
That will be with the ulul amr (saints). Once we’ve mastered that understanding and take a life of that understanding, it becomes the same principal. It becomes the muhabbat of Prophet ﷺ, trying to keep the hudur and presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and being then in the fana of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, which begins to open within the heart of Prophet ﷺ the realities of the love of Allah (AJ). It means ‘Qul in kuntum tuhibbunAllah fattabiooni yuhbibkumullah.’
3:31 – “Qul in kuntum tuhibbon Allaha fattabi’oni, yuhbibkumullahu wa yaghfir lakum dhunobakum wallahu Ghaforur Raheem.” (Surat Ali-Imran)
“Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” (Family of Imran, 3:31)
That in the heart and in the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, there begins to open the highest level, which is the real love of Allah (AJ) that is all encompassed by the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. And to be in that hudur, into that Divinely Presence, and to be annihilated in that presence is the ultimate goal. When that begins to be achieved, the lights of the heart begin to open.
This means the reality and the six powers of the heart begin to open. The lata’if (subtle energy points) of the heart begin to open because these lights of what they’re going to be training, these lights and their nazar (gaze) will begin to open these realities.
The First Door is the Ulul Amr (Those in Authority)
So means then we go to the door number one is the relationship with ulul amr (those in authority). That that ulul amr, it has to be based on muhabbat, that they have to sign off. There is nothing that can be achieved and stolen. You cannot take it and steal it. There’s nothing to take. It has to be a station of muhabbat, through good manners, through good character, through adab and discipline. That’s why their schools are filled with discipline. Where people don’t understand, they go to the mosque and say that, ‘You’re not like the imam at the mosque and you guys have, like, different rules’. Because one is kindergarten and one is PhD!
This is a way of ma’rifah (gnosticism) and a way of knowing the self to know Allah (AJ). And the reverse is more true that if you don’t know yourself then it’s impossible to say that you know Allah (AJ). How we can I know the creator if I don’t know anything about myself?
مَنْ عَرَفَ نَفْسَهْ فَقَدْ عَرَفَ رَبَّهُ
“Man ‘arafa nafsahu faqad ‘arafa Rabbahu”
“Who knows himself, knows his Lord.” Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
So the schools of ma’rifah will begin to teach that you find the ulul amr, 124000 authorized ulul amr (saints). Their hearts have been opened, they are dressed from that reality. They will teach you the structure of that reality and the levels in which to connect.
1. Muhabbat (Love)
Muhabbat is Based on Honour and Respect
But most important, for this understanding, is their muhabbat (love). So these are the doors of muhabbat that we come into their presence and we learn the reality of love: the reality of love and respect. And that’s the biggest difficulty of that door is to understand that love, to understand that respect. Then people begin to look and say that ‘Why is there so much, sort of respect here versus again, we don’t see that in the mosque?’ Because the students, we are all trying to achieve and continuously achieve the darajats (levels) of muhabbat (love) because muhabbat is based on tashreef (honour) and ihtiram and respect.
What you learn here, you’ll be applying to the greater shaykhs, to the greater ulul amr. You’ll be applying it to the ulul amr (saints) that you see and the ones that you don’t because you’ve been trained. If you haven’t been trained, you will try to bite the hand of the ulul amr above, or bite the hand, astaghfirullah, of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ – impossible! That’s why they are guarding and said, ‘No crazy people in this presence.’ They teach that, ‘You apply a discipline and apply your character, apply your love, apply all of your respect.’ All of that is we will be using it throughout our life.
Adab (Manners) is the Foundation of the School of Love
So then you see them in their adab (manners) that what type of love they have, what type of characteristics they have, what type of ihtiram and respect and tashreef (honour) they have. Because they’ve been trained, this is the ocean of love. That respect, they’ll use it when the big ulul amr come. Because if you don’t have it and you see one of those big ulul amr, you don’t have any manners with a small one, big ones or unseen ones. It’s all based on the manners. It’s all based on adab. So that is the school of muhabbat (love).
We Need Ulul Amr to Sign Off Our Ijaza (Permission)
So then muhabbat begins now, it’s like a key. They begin to teach: with that muhabbat that you have, the love that you have, the respect that you’re showing. Your ego is telling you don’t need to show it for that person. But then you’re not getting any key because that ulul amr (saints) signs off. You know when you go to university and you want to get your degree, you can’t say that, ‘No, no. My math teacher is going to give me my certificate’. If your physics doesn’t sign and your history teacher doesn’t sign, you don’t get any degree. You can have all the one signature you want in life and you’ll find your heart never opened. It’s not you pick and choose what you want, but there are people whom Allah (AJ) has given a specific knowledge. And you won’t find that knowledge anywhere on this earth.
And if you’re clever enough to pick up who has those knowledges, you have to train with them. You have to be authorized by them. Their spiritual signature must be applied upon your resume for the higher ones to begin to give. And that is the whole concept of muhabbat (love).
Follow the Curriculum Allah (AJ) Has Assigned to You nurmuhammad.com
There’s no bouncing around, there’s no jumping around. There’s no need to look at too many different YouTubes – they’ll confuse you. It’s not a part the curriculum that you have to master. You have a specific curriculum in which Allah (AJ) has put you in.
Then if you look at that curriculum, you’ll look at the websites – it’s all about muraqabah (spiritual connection). On this earth, there’s no other website with those teachings. It’s all about ilm ul-huroof (knowledge of letters). And on this earth, there’s no other websites teaching that. All about the lata’if (subtle energy points) of the heart – there are no other websites teaching that. That all exists within that teacher and those teachers.
If you’ve mastered all those levels and all those videos and all those articles, then occupy yourself at looking and studying other things. If you haven’t, then it means you’re not keeping your focus on what’s important for you. You’re going to be a lifetime student of the first grade.
And you see many of them – they’re 30 years in tariqa, 25 years in tariqa (spiritual path) – nothing opened! When they talk, they talk jibberish from left to right. Their hearts are not open. If they see occasional khashf and visions of jinns and different things, that’s not an open heart. What we’re talking about is from malakut, from the heavenly realms, an unimaginable realities that Allah (AJ) describing of our light and our reality.
Read From Nurmuhammad and Swim in that Reality
So, it means the whole class is based on muhabbat (love). When we’re taking that muhabbat, we’re entering into that ocean of love, we’re going to be taught how to revere, how to have respect. Then we begin to study that reality, learn from that reality, absorb ourselves in that reality – that begins to open their hudur (presence). That which you want, you have to dive within it.
You want to know about those realities, you should be reading them all the time. And they have them online, on NurMuhammad. You should be reading them all the time. You should be constantly going into that reality, reading that reality, reading that reality. You are sending your soul now to swim in that reality. This means if that’s what you want, you have to be from it. You can never achieve it from outside.
Do Not Speak Without Being Tested and Trained
You cannot be a person who’s never gone swimming and try to describe to people what swimming is. But that’s the internet. Everybody now talking about every possible subject. If say, ‘Have you been to seclusion?’
‘No.’
‘Have you trained and actually accompanied a shaykh for 15, 20 years and been humiliated and been insulted and been dragged down and brought back up and dragged down and brought back up?’
They say, ‘No, I live with one’. That doesn’t mean anything!
‘I know one from far away’. That doesn’t mean anything!
‘I saw one on the internet that I watch all the time’. No!
Until you’re in the class, registered for the class. And subject to their training, subject to their bringing up and bringing down, bringing up and bringing down, bringing up and bringing down, to test the muhabbat (love). Because they don’t want any wild dogs because wild dogs bite you. There’s no way the wild dog would get past even just one gate. They may sit there for 25 years, it doesn’t mean anything. It will not get past their security because it’s not yet domesticated. It means the wildness not brought out.
Shaykh Aggravates You to Test Your Muhabbat (Love)
So when we talk about the muhabbat (love), it is a huge ocean: all the time, all the testing, all the agitation, all the aggravation is muhabbat. When you love something, you don’t see anything wrong. What do they say, ‘Love is blind’. Right? It’s very deep. Don’t let this go through one ear and out the other. When you love something, you don’t see anything wrong. When you don’t really love, you constantly see everything wrong. That’s not muhabbat. That muhabbat is going to begin to open hudur (presence).
Then everything around the shaykhs – each shaykh is unique, each one of these 124,000 schools, from the ones that manifest, the ones that don’t have permission to manifest, each one unique. You walk through their door, everything made to aggravate you. Everything! From the price of the beans, the price of the salt, the cookies they serve you – you don’t like those cookies, they’re going to keep serving you those cookies. You don’t like the flavour or the taste and they put salt in it. You don’t like the tea and say they put salt in it. ‘But Shaykh, I said I didn’t like it.’ ‘Well that’s exactly what we wanted to know. So you don’t like it, we give it to you much more,’ because they don’t care what you like. They are not here to be buddy-buddy with you; they’re here to bring the muhabbat and the love out of you.
Through Agitation, Shaykh Shows What You Are Made Of
Everything around the Shaykhs is made to aggravate you. And everybody around them are merely buttons to bring out your aggravation. So be careful what you say to people here. When somebody says like this, you say, ‘Sure’. Because every comment you make is going on your muhabbat register. Because they’re finding out what aggravates you, what agitates you. They immediately see all of these characters. That’s when you know the school is real. Because you can go many places and they are just the people of zikr. They’re not an authorized guide and they’re not authorized to agitate and aggravate.
Only through agitation, you can begin to separate chemicals. That which may look like one, when you agitate it in the lab, you bring out all of the various elements within it. So they want to begin to show you and themselves: what are you made of? What chemicals within you, when agitated come out?
So immediately everything around you, you see that you become aggravated with this, you become aggravated with that. You become upset about this, you become upset about that. You are nice to certain people, not nice to other people. If there’s a financial gain, you’re very nice with them, if you don’t get money from them, you don’t talk to them- they’re not even human for you. What kind of character was that? That’s not Islamic character. That’s not the way of muhabbat (love).
Shaykhs Loves Everyone Whom Allah (AJ) Loves
You love whom Allah (AJ) loves. You love whom Prophet ﷺ loves and that’s it. And you try your best with patience to show that love and that good character. And that’s why when you see their character you don’t understand: why their character like that? ‘If I don’t like somebody, I don’t like them’. But that’s not their way. They are the people of muhabbat. They love whom Allah (AJ) loves, even if their physical body doesn’t, because they’ve been trained in muhabbat (love).
Keep Track of What Agitates You to Know Yourself
Through that muhabbat means then the first rule is that: I want to enter into that love and everything around these shaykhs are going to agitate me. Be clever to write down every night what agitated you. Even if it’s the price of the rice. Why? Because you’re cheap! That’s not a good and noble character. A loving person, someone in love, doesn’t see anything. Someone in love just lost in that love. Someone in love doesn’t ever think about their pocket. Every day they empty it and every night Allah (AJ) fills it. And their hisabs (accounts) are all negative and nobody understands how they’re surviving. That’s love because they are relying on Allah (AJ). They’re relying on Prophet ﷺ. They rely on the ulul amr (saints) above them that supporting and holding them.
2. Hudur (Presence)
With Love Enter the Hudur of Your Own Shaykh
At that time, when we begin to understand the depth of the ocean of love and testing, means that’s why they say: don’t take out all these bad characteristics, crush them! It’s coming out – you have the responsibility, go home, crush your bad character, crush your bad character. You begin to lose yourself in the love. That now you’re entering into their hudur (presence).
Be in Presence of the Shaykh Who Washes Your Impurities
The one that you’re accompanying, you will enter into his hudur, not somebody else’s hudur. The one who is washing your clothes, you will enter into their hudur, not worrying about someone else. The one who’s washing your burdens every time you enter, you come with all your burdens, with all your characteristics – who’s washing it? If he’s from one of those 124,000, he’s washing, or she’s washing. And if he’s washing, he washed to the ability he can and he gives to the ulul amr (saints) above.
And that’s why you begin to have that love for them. You know that they’re taking burdens from you. You know that they’re washing your laundry and making it to be clean. And people around begin to see you are very white, bright and nurani. It’s not from you – it’s from the one who’s been washing your laundry. That’s love.
Don’t Think of What You Give,
Think of the Blessings that Shaykh Sends You
Then they begin to teach: the rizq and sustenance that you come. Don’t think ‘Oh, look how much I gave to them,’ but think how much they gave to you. ‘Ah, I gave them this, I gave them that’. No, no, think of it like a dinner, that mashaAllah, they gave you a plate with 3 kebabs and they sat with nothing in front of them. Why is it that you don’t think of giving at least half of your plate of kebab to them? Because again the bad character. So they point out all these realities. Don’t think it’s yours, that you gave it. Now you calculated it how much was yours- these are all from bad characteristics.
We Are Taking From Provision of Sayyidina Qasim (saws)
From the ocean of love is that my shaykh is sending this ni’mat (blessing). Aren’t these the qasidas that we’re reading on Pukaro? Isn’t that what we’re reading, that we’re taking from the provision of Prophet ﷺ, Sayyidina Qasim ﷺ (distributor).
تیرا کھاواں میں تیرے گیت گاواں یا رسول الله
تیرا میلاد میں کیوں نہ مناواں یا رسول الله
یا رسول الله یا حبیب الله پکارو
Tera khavaa may teray geet, Gawaa Ya Rasul Allah
Tera Milad may kiyo na manawaa, Ya Rasul Allah
Ya Rasul Allah, Ya Habib Allah, Pukaro
I eat from your provision and sing your song, O Messenger of God
Why shouldn’t I celebrate your birthday, O Messenger of God
O Messenger of God, O Beloved of God,
What Allah (AJ) is giving of a rahmah (mercy) and the provision to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, dressing us from that provision, taking that from Prophet ﷺ? We don’t owe a percentage to Prophet ﷺ back? We don’t owe all our life back? These are then the realities of muhabbat.
When you think through muhabbat (love) and not think through the bad characteristics. When you think through the bad characteristic, ‘Oh, I gave like this, this like this, this like this’. That’s not love. Again, you could sit 25 years with them but that’s not love. Love is that, ‘they sent me this and I love to eat with them. Here’s half of my plate, here take all my plate.’ That’s love.
You Will Be With Whom You Love
With that love, when you’re lost in that love, your reality, and it’s not something that you control. You control the amount of love that you show. The hudur is now your love is like a magnet onto their soul. That’s why the love is important.
All of it is from the realities of hadith where Prophet ﷺ described how to reach this reality is, ‘You’ll be with who you love’. They didn’t say who you made hajj (pilgrimage) with, you’ll be with who you prayed with, who you did jummah with. Allah (AJ) is authorizing Prophet ﷺ, ‘tell them they’ll be with who they love’. That is the whole way of muhabbat.
قَالَ رَسُول اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه و سلم: الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَب
Qala Rasulullah (saws): “Almar o, ma’a man ahab.”
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “One is with those whom he loves.”
When they teach the real love, through all the testing and difficulty and struggling and striving, you become like a companion. Why were the companions so in love with Prophet ﷺ? They don’t know anything about Allah (AJ). They hadn’t seen any book. And every day they gave their life to fight two, three battles a day. And everyone thinking they’re going to die. What do you think when you constantly given yourself at that level of love? What happens? That’s the reality of the hadith, ‘You’ll be with whom you love’.
Hudur is that Your Light Attaches onto Shaykh’s Light
‘You’ll be with whom you love’. Not your body but with that type of love, your soul is lost into them.Your light with their light is now bonding because the love opens the heart, not the brain. When you have that type of love, that type of ishq, you’re releasing a light from your heart. From your heart, it’s bonding with their heart, a powerful bond. And they begin to graft your light.
3. Fana (Annihilation)
Love Releases the Soul Like a Drop in the Ocean of Fana
We said before, why Mawlana keeps asking us about math. One plus one equals what? If it’s form, if it’s solid and garbage, one and one is two. But depending upon what we’re adding, that formula is going to change. One light plus one light is one light.
Love is nur (light). It’s not physicality. When you begin to release the light of your soul and the love of your soul, one soul and one soul, when it comes together, it remains as one. There is no two. It goes back into an ocean of what they call now fana.
So that muhabbat with hudur, that the love is opening a presence. Your light is moving beyond your control because you opened your heart. You tamed your bad characteristics. Your bad characteristic is grabbing it and say, ‘No, no, no, no,’ and these are all the waswas (whispering). So as soon as you begin to write all your waswas and say, ‘I’m going to now attack these waswas’.
Awliya Carry Our Atomic Reality in Their Soul’s Ship
That light begins to emanate, that love begins to dress. You are now in the hudur (presence). Your light is entering into their lights.
‘Wa hamalna dhurriyatuhum,’ Allah (AJ) says. This is all from the heart, “Wa hamalna dhurriyatuhum,”- “We have carried the dhurriyah” is describing the light coming together. So when they say, ‘No, no, this is a shirk. You can’t come together.’ This has nothing to do with worshipping. Allah (AJ) is even describing in heart of Qur’an, You have been carried. Your dhurriyah, your atomic reality is carried.
﴾وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ ﴿٤١
36:41 – “Wa ayatul lahum anna hamalna dhurriyyatahum fil fulkil mashhooni.” (Surat YaSeen)
“And a sign for them is that we have carried their atoms/forefathers in the loaded ship.” (YaSeen, 36:41)
Shaykh Dresses You With His Muhammadan Light
So imagine now these lights are coming together and being dressed by the superior light. The Muhammadan light of that soul is dressing your light. Your one and one remains one, which means that the light that they dress you with will begin to dress your entire being. If even just two of your atoms comes near them, they’ll begin to dress all of your atoms, all of your light. That is the hudur.
Ocean of Tawhid – We Are Created From One Soul
That hudur (presence) is opening the fana (annihilation). The fana means that your light is lost in their light. That the oneness of your light entered the oneness of their light and that light entered back into the Ocean of Oneness. And that is tawhid (oneness).
‘We created you from a ruhul wahid. We created you from one soul.’ It means, ‘We split you off into many different particles’.
﴾خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا…﴿٦
39:6 – “Khalaqakum min nafsin wahidatin thumma ja’ala minha zawjaha…” (Surat Az-Zumar)
“He created you (all) from one soul: then created, of like nature, his mate…” (The Troops, 39:6)
Our Journey Starts With the Solid State
Through Taslim We Can Turn to Liquid, then to Gas
When you surrender the form, annihilate your form, enter back into the ocean of love, you take 10,000 drops of water into one cup, what does it remain? One. Where are all the drops? That’s why he was teaching the logic that when you add form, one glass and one glass is two glasses. But when you’re talking about water and light, that which is liquid. And you lost your state of matter, you lost your state of solidness, you lost your form. Because the three realities of matter, this is all within their sciences. That if you lose your solid form, you’ll have liquid. Liquid, when you add liquid, it remains one. You’re lucid, you’re easy, you move into anything.
A liquid state is in taslim, in submission. Nothing agitates a liquid state because wherever they pour you in, you are submitting. Who cares? From liquid state, a little bit more energy and you become ethereal, gas. That the water boils, you become angelic reality, that the tajalli (manifestation) in your soul is like a breeze moving in that reality.
We Come From the Light and To It We Shall Return
So then the whole school is based on muhabbat (love). That muhabbat releases the soul into their hudur, into their presence. You’re keeping their physical presence and your soul is being dressed by them. You begin to feel their spiritual presence. In everything you’re doing, you feel them with you, because this is from one soul. That one soul is who? La ilaha illallah, Muhammadun RasuAllah ﷺ. “There is no diety but Allah, Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
We gave the difference with the body. When the body lost and the body destroyed, what’s left is a light. That light, its origin from Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ. From that light, you come and to that light you shall return. And that becomes the fana (annihilation), that when we begin to enter into that cup, it’s fana.
﴾إِنَّا لِلَّـهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ ١٥٦… ﴿١٥٦
2:156 – “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon.” (Surat Al-Baqarah)
“Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.” (The Cow, 2:156)
So muhabbat ul-mashaykh, hudur ul-mashaykh wa fana, and to be annihilated. But not the shaykh physicality but the Nurul Muhammadi ﷺ that he has been annihilated in. And all of that will begin the next door towards the reality of Prophet ﷺ, inshaAllah.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa wa bi sirri surat al-Fatiha.
