I SWEAR BY THE ONE HU CARRIES MY SOUL IN HIS HAND
I SWEAR BY THE ONE HU
CARRIES MY SOUL
IN HIS HAND
From The Teachings of Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani as Taught by Shaykh Sayed Nurjan Mirahmadi
O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single person, ……
These are associations and their realities are not something that is commonplace and most people won’t understand, and understand it’s value, that when Allah ‘Azza wa Jal guides you to that reality,
“…Atiu Allah, atiur Rasul wa ulil amri minkum.”
“Obey God, obey the Prophet and obey those in authority” (Al Nisa:59).
That, their guidance and when Allah ‘Azza wa Jal going to send and wants us to be dressed from obedience of Allah ‘Azza wa Jal, obedience of the Rasool (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and all of the prophets and the messengers; their obedience and following what they want and what they were sent, as a guidance for humanity. All of that is put into the hand of oolul amr and they are from the inheritance of the fulooqul mash’hoon. They are loaded ships. When Allah ‘Azza wa Jal describes in Suratul Yaseen,
“Didn’t We carry you in the loaded ship?”
Wa ayatun lahum anna hamalna dhurriyya tahum fee al fuluki almashhoon.
“And a sign for them is that we have carried their descendants in a loaded ship (Ya Sin:41).”
Your dhuriyyah, your reality, your atomic structure; “We carried you in a loaded ship,” and they begin to teach and begin to slowly try to open the heart and free you from the limitation of your mind: that our mind in the material world is affixed only to the physical understanding, bodily, base on what the body is capable of understanding. And they teach us that you think from a timeless reality where Allah ‘Azza wa Jal, the Divinely Presence, doesn’t care for the body at all; doesn’t care for dunya: that what Allah ‘Azza wa Jal is interested in is the soul and that which is eternal, that which is pure.
And we’ve been sent onto this earth for a test, and we come from the pure, we come for a test and we’re supposed to go back pure; but not leaving us to ourselves but Allah ‘Azza wa Jal, the Divinely rahmah and mercy, is that there is guidance. And when we follow our own desires, we fall into the trap of our desire; means that every turooq (Sufi path) and every mashaa’ikh (Sufi teacher) and every Prophet (alaihis salaatu assalaam) came to teach, “Don’t follow yourself, and don’t trust yourself. It’s the self that putting you into trouble.” So means then our whole way of life, the people of reality, is they came to the realisation that, “O myself! I don’t trust you! I’m not going to listen to you. And I know that if I try to make a deal it’s going to sound appealing and you’re going to trap me and I’m going to fall into difficulty.” And many people listen to themselves and their shayaateen.
And what Allah ‘Azza wa Jal wants from us and Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) want for us and oolul amr want for us: “Don’t trust yourself. Take a path in which you don’t trust yourself and seek out guidance, seek out these ulul amr; and the ulul amr, they are different in their darajat (ranks); means there are some who are imams, and they give a guidance and yet their soul and their heart is not open. So they want us to understand from the world of realities that there are people that teach and many people who teach; but yet their heart is not open, they didn’t reach the mawt at qablal mawt (the station of “death before death”). They didn’t reach the point in which their bodily desire died and they reversed the contract. The contract is: the body will capture the soul and cage the soul, and put its desires and its wants; and they become either very material or they move towards the oceans of submission. Some that are pious and they become imams and teach, it doesn’t mean that they reached a state of death. That way of reaching a state of death is through tremendous amount of training, many seclusions, and to be at the hands of a very powerful murshid. Means the silsila and the chain, it cannot be broken chain, it can’t be somebody who read a book and said, “Now I’m your guru, I’m your teacher.” But there’s a chain like a electrical wire that coming, that we are connected: to where? Fulooqul mash’hoon. We are connected to the loaded ship. We are connected to the heart of Sayyiduna Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and we are being dispersed onto the earth, connected and hand-held.
: Allah’s hand. Allah ‘Azza wa Jal told Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), “Put your hand out, it’s My hand. I’m going to use your hand to reach to them.”
Inna allatheena yubayiAAoonakainnama yubayiAAoona Allaha yadu
Allahifawqa aydeehim faman nakatha fa-innama yankuthu AAalanafsihi
waman awfa bima AAahada AAalayhu Allahafasayu/teehi ajran AAatheema
“Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you, [O Muhammad] – they are actually pledging allegiance to Allah . The hand of Allah is over their hands. So he who breaks his word only
breaks it to the detriment of himself. And he who fulfills that which he has promised Allah –
He will give him a great reward (Al-Fath:10).”
And that’s why when they take their bayyah and they take their allegiance, it’s not to that person but to what that person represents. The perfection of their character means that they died and the mirror of the Divine is shining through them. The mirror of Sayyiduna Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) is shining through them. So by taking them, they are the waseelah, they are a means in which for my bodily life to reach my heavenly reality. If you can do by yourself that will be miraculous, that may be the few and not the many. That may be the exception and not the rule.
The rule is that we are surrounded by difficulty and the test in life is to be humble and be wanting the Divine, that I see all the candies around me but I don’t want them. Not that you don’t have any candies, then what was the accomplishment, like an angel? Allah puts us through temptations, surrounds us by choices, and those that abstain and say, “No. I want that which is higher” And they take a path of humility, struggling against themselves, struggling against themself and asking, “Ya Rabbi, send me from this fulooqul mash’hoon. Send me from these loaded ships. Send me from these ulul amr,” and in our life if we are fortunate and we are lucky, we reach to them, to their associations.
Their associations are loaded ships. That’s how you understand the difference, not this person does zikr, that one does zikr, this one does this; this doesn’t mean anything. If their soul is not open, if 5 people are sitting and making zikrullah, Alhamdulillah that’s good. But it may not be dressing your soul, if your ego is big and your sicknesses are many, that zikr is coming and bouncing off. Or you be purified, but bye the time you’re home? You are dirty again and all your bad desires and all your bad characteristics poisoning of the body, the breath and everything about yourself; the benefit of the zikr was what? It goes all the way to the day of judgement and Allah ‘Azza wa Jal dress you from at that time. But the loaded ships and the true guidance, they’re trying to give us an understanding. These are very few, 124 000 of these ships are on dunya and they represent Sayyiduna Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). And they know exactly how to go out to creation and to go right back into the presence of Sayyiduna Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and they will make all their passengers to embark, to leave to the ship of safety, safeenatun nijaat.
That Allah ‘Azza wa Jal, the soul of Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and all the souls of all the Prophets is like a grand ship traversing the oceans of rahmah (mercy). And all these little boats, they go out onto the shore and they pick up people; different than an imam or scholar, basic scholar who never even came against himself (his desires), it’s different. The knowledge that he has and he departs to you, he’s hoping it has benefit to you and yet it has not benefited him; because many scholars, they don’t live by what they teach. They basically tell you (and say) “good for you and I will do something else.” Many scholars they don’t have even vision within their heart; so their ilm and their knowledge and their amal was of what benefit? It’s different. So they partake from head to head, they teach you something hoping that maybe you’ll take it and do some benefit for yourself. But the real ulul amr, they are connected ulul amr, they are like loaded ships.
Allah ‘Azza wa Jal said, “We carried you.” ‘We carried you’ means your reality is from that reality of Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) “and We created the likes of them.” ‘And we carried like that big fulooq’; there are small ships.
Wakhalaqna lahum min mithlihi mayarkaboon.
“And We have created the likes of them (ie. similar vessels)
on which they ride (Ya Sin:42).”
Compared to Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) they are nothing. But what they want us to understand now in the days of science and realities is very easy; before you had to describe these realities and was tremendous faith for people to say, “Ooh ah, that sounds amazing; cause we don’t see anything but you know, something in the desert.” But science, they teach us in school all these realities. Means they open the reality of their soul; and when your soul is confined to your body, it has very little effect outside your body. It’s trapped. Anything you crack open like a zalzala (earthquake), you crack it open and the state of death releases a tremendous explosion. A tremendous power of your soul is released from what’s been locked into the body. Means those that achieve those realities in dunya, where Allah ‘Azza wa Jal, they are muraad; where Allah ‘Azza wa Jal was calling upon them, brought them into guidance, secluded them, dressed them, blessed them, sent them back out: that their soul is governing their body.
Then they want us to understand how that ship works is merely they begin to release the energy of their soul, and the energy that you feel is not your own; because many people come and begin to feel an energy and they think it’s themself and they kick the shaykh out and then: go study their lives and see what type of horrific difficulty they have. Because they were fooled by their ego thinking, “No I became something and I’m experiencing all these experiences and it must be from me,” but these are from ibaadur Rahman; and Allah ‘Azza wa Jal clarifies,
………. lam yaj AAali Allahu lahu nooran fama lahu min noor
…… for any to whom Allah giveth not light, there is no light!
“Don’t those whom We gave the specific light of guidance have ishaarat.” That light, if you don’t have it, you don’t get it. So by accompanying them don’t become sick and think now you have something because then your ego will convince you, “Fly on your own.”
Study, because there is a lot of barakah, you study 4, 5, 6, 10 years later, if the barakah dried out, their lives are miserable. This reality of the soul when they release the power of their soul, think now at your atomic reality; the fulooqul mash’hoon to understand if you took a little bit of physics in school, means the energy and the electrons, the atoms, the molecules of their soul is coming out merely begins to touch your atomic reality; because it’s confined, yours is confined to your body, you’re not able to release it. They don’t need, they’re going in, and you feel your body heating up, you feel your heart heating up, you feel the energy all around you: it’s not you but it’s their soul able to penetrate and move. As it moves in, it begins to carry your atomic reality. Just enough one atom from you represents all of you- the micro, the macro must be the same. They don’t need to carry the whole plate; they can take enough just one atom, bring it and begin to dress it from itself. So means think with the world of light, this world of light, their soul goes out and begins to dress everybody’s soul, bring that into their energy and begin to dress it, bless it, clean it and begin to take it where it’s going.
And that’s the concept of the ship. Why Allah ‘Azza wa Jal says, “We carried you in the ship”, when Allah has no time; don’t read Qur’an from your body. No, Allah has no time, there’s no clock up there. “Ok this I carried you in the ship 2 weeks ago”. The Almighty has no time when He says, “We carried you in a ship,” means til today you are being carried, and you are a carried creation. And a sign of that is when you are born, you don’t even need to touch the ground, your mother will come and pick you up. All your life Allah ‘Azza wa Jal showing, “I carried you. They carried you in a womb and when your fragile being came out, I had even people run when they heard you cry, to pick you up and carry you; and you have always been a creation that is carried. How, with your 2 flimsy little legs you are able to move when anything else you put up like this falls?” Allah ‘Azza wa Jal showing that, “This carrying is eternal, don’t you see it?” Your majesty in dunya as nobody understands how with those two legs you walk! And Allah ‘Azza wa Jal says, “No We carried you, and you have always been carried”; but because of the ego you come and make you think that, although you came from sperm, but now you think you are something mighty and powerful.
The way of humility is that: “Ya Rabbi I am nothing, I’m nothing, I’m nothing” and begin to think from world of light that these ulul amr and why sahabi kiram (honoured companions of the Prophet), why when they made an oath to Prophet (sallallahu alalihi wasallam): you know what words they used in their oath? “I swear by the One who carried my soul in His Hand.” Who’s that one who carries their soul in His Hand? Why they would use such a word? Because they are not blind, they’re seeing what Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) is opening for them. They see that their soul is in the ship of Sayyiduna Muhammad (sallallahu alalihi wasallam) and they swear by that reality. They know their soul, its origin, because who knows himself will know his Rabb (Lord), not Allah ‘Azza wa Jal; but will know His Lordship and that which governs him, Rabbal bayt, Rabbal shar.
Means the hadith of Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) very specific in their words: “who knows himself will know his Lord”. They are the masters of knowing themselves and they realise their soul is in the hand of Sayyiduna Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). It is the ship of realities and all the Prophets are there; means they are the ships of safety. And what they want us to understand from the world of light, the different levels of associations, is that merely their lights are coming out, they touch the lights and the atoms of everyone else and begin to carry them on their mi’raj. And each shaykh is in a mi’raj within the heart of his shaykh, through his shaykh, through the silsila all the way up into the presence of Sayyiduna Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). That’s why the shaykh sends them. If he sends from the ulul amr, means they have a permission of irshad and guidance; that they are ships and they are able to release their soul. As soon as they release their soul, if you eat with them, you are eating in their paradise reality.
That’s why they said in tazkiyatal awliya (a famous book about the lives of Saints). If you come across one of them, eat with them 2 bites, pray with them 2 rakaahs, drink with them 2 sips, why was to stress that you don’t understand: these are the people of paradise and their paradise reality dresses everything around them because it’s out of them. Your paradise reality is locked within you. Why Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) told us to be with people of a zikr; cause these ulul amr, they are busy in zikr, and describes that the circles of their association are gardens of paradise. Everywhere you look at from every different hadith, going to describe the same reality. These are the circles of paradise, who? These ulul amr, that conduct these associations: that, when you’re eating in their presence, is not from you, you’re eating in their paradise reality and the sustenance that Allah ‘Azza wa Jal dressing their soul begins to dress everybody that eating. And that’s why Allah ‘Azza wa Jal described in Holy Qur’an,
“They feed you from their food.”
We went over that before. The miskeen, the yateem and the captive.
Wa yutAAimona attaAAama AAala hubbihi miskeenan wayateeman waaseera.
Innama nutAAimukum li wajhi Allah ila nureedu minkum jazaan wala shukoora.
“And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, (Saying),”We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks (Furqan:8-9).”
And they love their food. This is the reality of their soul, because if these are the rijaalullah, what do they care about food?
And they do it, and they put in English ‘for the sake of Allah ‘Azza wa Jal’ but that’s a big mistake: the word wasn’t ‘for the sake of Allah’, for waj’ Allah, they do it for the face of Allah ‘Azza wa Jal. So it doesn’t mean every person giving hamburger on the street is a description of those people; but with tafseer you can change the whole understanding. When somebody feeds you for the face of Allah ‘Azza wa Jal means they must know what the face of Allah ‘Azza wa Jal is. They must be in the face of Allah ‘Azza wa Jal ; otherwise how they feeding you for that sake? Means these are rijaalullah. Their arwaa is in that Divinely presence, their souls are dressed by that presence and the feeding is the releasing of their soul. It touches all the water you drink, it touches all the food you eat, it touches your salaah because you’re in a constant mi’raj of their dress; because they are a perfected mirror.
When Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, another hadith, that, “The believer, the mu’min, is a mirror to his brother.” This is a description of these ulul amr; that they are so polished that they merely look into that presence and if they look to the presence of Sayyiduna Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), everybody will be dressed by Nurul Muhammadi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). If they look into presence of awliya Allah, everybody will be dressed by the presence of awliya Allah. Their face, they have all of their attributes are being opened: al qaadir, al muqtadir as-saami, al-basir, al-alim. Al-alim, and another reality of al-qaadir, they bring and breathe from the essences of Divinely presence. And as they breathe, the whole association is dressed from those lights, blessed from those lights.
We pray for more understanding, that they’re opening permissions, from not only maqamal qalb (station of the heart), maqamas- sirr (station of the secret), maqamas-sirr as-sirr (secret of the secret); means the sirr as-sirr is the opening of the Naqshbandiyyal aliya. All the other tariqas, they are locked at the maqamas-sirr; the sirr as-sirr, alamal arwa, alamal mithal and the world of light, Maulana Shaykh Hisham giving a permission to open those realities, means opening the world of light. And insha’ Allah it be a safety for us, a protection for us, a source of yaqeen (certainty) for everyone to have an understanding, that yaqeen should be a safety from the coming of dajjal.
Subhan rabbika rabbil ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen.
Bihurmati Muhammadu Mustafa, baser as-sur, al-fatiha.
