“We have not taught him (Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) poetry, nor it is befitting for him. He (Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) is not but Zikr (Remembrance/Praise) and the Qur’an making things clear.” (YaSeen, 36:69)
Holy Qur’an Was Sent in Ramadan
In the world of form, everything is a deception in dunya (material world). In the world of form, Holy Qur’an is a kitab and a manifested book which you carry with you. In the world of malakut (heavens), it’s a light. Where is that light coming? Now, it’s Ramadan, we are saying it’s the month of Holy Qur’an; it’s not a month of only the paper. The month of Holy Qur’an means Allah’s (AJ) Izzah (Might), Allah’s (AJ) Rahmah (mercy), Allah’s (AJ) Maghfirah (forgiveness), Allah’s (AJ) uncreated spoken words are filling the universes. Because it’s not Ramadan here, it’s Ramadan in all malakut (heavens).
2:185 – “Shahru Ramadaanal laze, unzila feehil Qur’anu hudal linnasi wa baiyinaatim minal hudaa wal furqaan…” (Surat Al-Baqarah)
“The month of Ramadan [is that] in which was revealed/descended the holy Qur’an, as a guide to mankind and clear signs/proofs for guidance and criterion/judgement (between right and wrong)…” (The Cow, 2:185)
Where is the Light of Holy Qur’an Emanating From?
The pardeh, the hijab (veil) in which Allah (AJ) entered into this ninth month (Ramadan) is a dress upon all this universe. It’s not Allah (AJ) throwing books and showering the universe with books. It’s a light, it’s a nur. It’s a light beyond our imagination of light. It’s a manifested light that is yet not created. Where is that light coming from? It’s not coming from everywhere; it’s not just showering miraculously all over from everywhere.
It comes from manzil al-Qur’an, it comes from the house of Holy Qur’an. It comes from the Divinely Presence, the highest sidrat al-muntaha, and qaaba qawsayni aw adna (Holy Qur’an, 53:9), and it manifests through the created light of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. In that arwah and in those realities is Nurul Muhammad ﷺ, Nurul Ahmad ﷺ, Nurul Mahmud ﷺ. All that reality up in the highest levels of light that anything can reach. From there is an emanating light that’s coming out as Holy Qur’an.
Ma’batul Wahyi Manzalil Quran Sahibal Ih’tida, Salamun ‘Alayk
You are the base of revelation, and the house of holy Qur’an,
and the owner of guidance, peace be upon you O Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
53:9 – “Fakana qaaba qawsayni aw adna.” (Surat An-Najm)
“And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer [to the Divine Presence].” (The Star, 53:9)
53:14 – “Inda sidratel Muntaha.” (Surat An-Najm)
“At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary.” (The Star, 53:14)
Heart of Qur’an is YaSeen ﷺ = Ya and Seen
Allah (AJ) described that, ‘We didn’t teach him poetry because this is the heart’. YaSeen ﷺ is the heart of the Divinely Presence. We have explained the ya and the seen of YaSeen. That ya contains all knowledge ‘uloom ul-awaleen wa ‘l-akhireen’ (knowledge of the beginning and the end). It contains all the yaqeen and certainties. That seen is three: Ilm ul Yaqeen, Ayn ul Yaqeen, haqq ul yaqeen, like a ‘w’. There are three oceans of that reality and that seen, and many other realities.
Allah (AJ) is making that YaSeen, which we know and is verified by all our ulema (scholars) that Holy Qur’an’s heart is Surah YaSeen, meaning it’s the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. From the malakut (heavens), the lights of Prophet ﷺ are emanating Holy Qur’an. Allah (AJ) says, ‘Not for this dunya because Qur’an is not for here’, and just some crazy people on earth that accept that or don’t accept it. It’s for all of malakut (heavens). It is Allah’s (AJ) Uncreated Speech.
We Didn’t Teach Poetry to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
That comes from the heart of that YaSeen ﷺ; Allah (AJ) is describing to all creation that, ‘We didn’t teach him poetry.’ It means these words and powers that are coming out, they are not poetry.
36:69 – “Wa ma ‘allamnahush shi’ra wa ma yambaghee lahu, in huwa illa zikrun wa Quranun Mubeen.” (Surat YaSeen)
“We have not taught him (Prophet Muhammad) poetry, nor it is befitting for him. He (Prophet Muhammad) is not but Zikr (Remembrance/Praise) and the Qur’an making things clear.” (YaSeen 36:69)
Nobody Can Carry Allah’s Speech Except Prophet ﷺ ‘Qul Huwa’
Allah (AJ) says “In huwa zikrun, ‘inna huwa, inna huwa,” Allah (AJ) describes Prophet ﷺ as “huwa”. “Huwa” is also from Surat Ikhlas, “Qul Huwa.”
112:1 – “Qul HuwaAllahu Ahad. (Surat Al-Ikhlas)
“Say, He is Allah, [who is] One.” (The Sincerity, 112:1)
“Qul Huwa, Qul Huwa.” Who is the “Qul” and who’s the “huwa”? You are Arab, you should know. Ajami (non-Arabs), we don’t know anything, only what Allah (AJ) wants us to know. Qul is a speech; and awliya (saints) come into your life and teach you that Qul, nobody can hold the “Qaf, wal Qur’an al-Majeed.”
50:1 – “Qaf, wal Quranil Majeed.” (Surat Qaf)
“Qaf. By the honored Qur’an.” (Qaf, 50:1)
Qul is only for Allah (AJ). There is no angel that can hold Allah’s (AJ) Speech. ‘There is nothing.’ Allah (AJ) said, ‘If I give My Speech to the mountain, it would be khashiya (dust). Only one that can hold My Qul is Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ’
59:21 – “Law anzalna hadha alQurana ‘ala jabalin laraaytahu, khashi’an mutasaddi’an min khashyatillahi….” (Surat Al-Hashr)
“Had We sent down this Qur’an on a mountain, verily, you would have seen it obliterated to dust (from its power)…” (The Exile, 59:21)
Realities of ‘Qul Huwa’ and Sincerity From Surat Ikhlas (112:1)
So, Allah (AJ) is describing “huwa”, “Qul huwa”. There is one speaking and one being spoken to, and that’s ikhlas (sincerity); because the Qur’an is not about me and you. We want to, with our nafs (ego), ‘Oh, what Allah’s (AJ) giving me of isharat (sign)?’ Allah (AJ) doesn’t care for me and you. This is a dialogue between Allah (AJ) and His Habib, His Beloved is Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.
All of Holy Qur’an is a dialogue and a gift from Allah (AJ) to Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Ikhlas and sincerity is when you no longer exist, and you are nothing, and you enter into the reality where Allah (AJ) is describing, “Qul huwa”. That’s when we were reciting the nasheed (praising), that when Allah (AJ) called me a “huwa”, it was an ecstasy.
Allahu Allah, lamma nadani Huwa
Fasirtu ‘abdan, mamlukan lahu Huwa
When Allah called his beloved messenger, “Huwa” (the Heness).
I (Muhammad (pbuh)) became the servant of the Lord Almighty,
Owned by the Sovereign King of All creation, “Huwa” (the Unknown Essence of the Divine)
It’s the ‘he’ that is not manifesting, the one whom annihilated himself and all realities and Allah (AJ) brought to “Qaba qawsayni aw adna” (Holy Qur’an, 53:9). There is no manifestation in that presence. There cannot be two, where Allah (AJ) says, ‘You and is Me.’ This means you annihilate yourself, you are nothing in that Divinely Presence. And in that Divinely Presence, Allah (AJ) spoke to that reality as “huwa”, “Qul huwa.” ‘Say to them, Allahu Ahad (Allah is One), Allahus Samad (Allah is Absolute).
112:1-4 – “Qul HuwAllahu Ahad. (1) Allahus Samad. (2) Lam yalid wa lam yolad. (3) wa lam yakul lahu, kufuwan Ahad.” (4) (Surat Al-Ikhlas)
Say, “He is Allah, [who is] One. (1) Allah, the Eternal Absolute/Refuge. (2) He neither begets nor is born. (3) Nor there is none like unto Him. (4)” (The Sincerity, 112:1-4)
“Huwa” Described in Surah YaSeen
It means that “huwa”, now in Surah YaSeen, Allah (AJ) is describing the heart of that reality. Because now we are in Surah YaSeen, the reality of YaSeen is Ramadan. The ahlul ma’rifah (people of gnosticism), they are moving into that reality. They are asking at the threshold of that reality of YaSeen. And Allah (AJ) is reminding, ‘I didn’t send this as a poetry.’ “Inna huwa zikrun wa Qur’an al-mubeen.” Zikrun – “Wa rafa’na laka zikrak.” (Holy Qur’an, 94:4)
36:69 – “Wa ma ‘allamnahush shi’ra wa ma yambaghee lahu, in huwa illa zikrun wa Quranun Mubeen.” (Surah YaSeen)
“We have not taught him (Prophet Muhammad) poetry, nor it is befitting for him. He (Prophet Muhammad) is not but Zikr (Remembrance/Praise) and the Qur’an making things clear.” (YaSeen, 36:69)
We Have Raised Your Remembrance in Malakut (Heavens)
In Surah Ash-Sharh, when we are reciting, didn’t Allah (AJ) say “Wa rafa’na laka zikrak”?
94:4 – “Wa rafa’na laka zikrak.” (Surah Ash-Sharh)
“And raised high for you your remembrance.” (The Relief, 94:4)
Allah (AJ) says, ‘Didn’t I make your remembrance and your praise throughout all my malakut?’ Not in dunya (material world), this is not a story from dunya. This is not about your worldly life; this is a qisa (story) and reality from the malakut. From Maqam Mahmud. Sayyidina Isa (Jesus) said “wa ismahu Ahmad”. All the prophets of reality, and the people of reality, they knew the reality of Sayyidina Ahmad ﷺ from malakut.
17:79 – “Wa minal layli fatahajjad bihi, nafilatal laka ‘asaa an yab’athaka Rabbuka Maqaman Mahmooda.” (Surah Al-Isra)
“And pray in the small watches of the morning: (it would be) an additional prayer (or spiritual profit) for thee: soon will your Lord raise you to a Station of Praise and Glory! [Maqam al Mahmood].” (The Night Journey, 17:79)
And Allah (AJ) is reminding, “Wa rafa’na laka zikrak.” ‘Didn’t We make all your name to be remembered in My Created Universes? All the malaika (angels) know that reality. All the created beings know that reality. Only the jahl (ignorant) of dunya who followed their nafs (ego), they became blind and they don’t understand the reality.’ Why is Allah (AJ) not talking to us? Allah (AJ) is reminding to the malakut, “Wa rafa’na laka zikrak.” (Holy Qur’an, 94:4)
‘Your name is known throughout all My Creation, every paradise, everything written upon it is your name upon it. Everything written upon these creations is La ilaha ilAllah Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ.’
“La ilaha illallahu Muhammadun Rasulallah”
“There is no deity but Allah, Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
“Huwa Qur’an ul mubeen.” ‘And you are My Manifest and Clear Qur’an. You are Kitabul Mubeen, you are Imamul Mubeen. Everything mubeen (clear) because everything through you is clear. Anything through anything else will be dirty. But you are the clean; you are the manifestation of all these realities.
36:12 – “Inna nahnu nuhyil mawta wa naktubu ma qaddamo wa atharahum, wa kulla shayin ahsaynahu fee imamin mubeen.” (Surat YaSeen)
“Indeed it is We who bring dead to life and We record all their footprint of the past and every step they take in the future, and of all things We have taken account in a Perfected Clear Imam (leader/Prophet ﷺ).” (YaSeen, 36:12)
Reciting Durood Shareef (Praisings) Draws Souls Near to Realities of Holy Qur’an
When we are making durood shareef this is not an entertainment practice. This is a soul’s drawing near to that reality. When Prophet ﷺ is describing, ‘You mention me once, Allah (AJ) sends my soul to praise upon you ten times.’
Qala RasulAllah ﷺ: “Man Salla ‘alaiya Salatan wahidatan, Sallallahu ‘alayhi ‘ashra Salawatin, wa Huttat ‘anhu ‘ashru khaTeatin, wa ruf’at lahu ‘ashru darajatin.”
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “Whoever sends blessings [Praises] upon me, God will shower His blessings upon him ten times, and will erase ten of his sins, and elevate [raise] his [spiritual] station ten times.” (Hadith, recorded by Nasa’i)
We said, ‘Why?’ What Prophet ﷺ wants to give to us? What’s the greatest gift that Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ can give to us? The Holy Qur’an! Prophet ﷺ says, ‘I give to you what Allah (AJ) gave to me. I give to you Holy Qur’an. I dress you from Holy Qur’an.’ And it becomes a light for you, a guidance for you, a blessing for you. Not only that which your eyes are reading and you memorizing through your tongue only; but through your soul’s experience is through durood shareef.
What is Prophet’s ﷺ Ten Salawats That is Sent Upon You?
As soon as you praise upon that reality whom Allah (AJ) described, “Inna hu zikrun wa Qur’anul Mubeen.” As soon as you praise upon that reality, that “zikrun wa Qur’anul Mubeen” becomes present; and the soul of Prophet ﷺ begins to send ten duroods upon you, ten blessings upon you.
36:69 – “…in huwa illa zikrun wa Quranun Mubeen.” (Surat YaSeen)
“…He (Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) is not but Zikr (Remembrance/Praise) and the Qur’an making things clear.” (YaSeen, 36:69)
It means then in the world of malakut, their ten has no beginning and no ending. What is Prophet ﷺ dressing upon your light when he’s coming and sending these salawats back? It means the realities of Holy Qur’an. And when you busy yourself in the praising of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, you are praising Allah (AJ); you say, “Allahuma salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammad.”
Allahumma salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa ‘ala aali Sayyidina Muhammadin wa Sallim.
O Allah! Send Peace and blessings upon our Master Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and upon the Family of our Master Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
When You’re an Oppressor to Yourself, “Jaooka” Go to RasulAllah ﷺ
That’s why Allah (AJ) prefers, you make salawat (praising), because by making salawat, you are praising upon me and including the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. “Jaooka wa fastaghfaro Allah wa astaghfara lahum ur Rasul…”
4:64 – “… wa law annahum idh zhalamoo anfusahum jaooka fastaghfaro Allaha wastaghfara lahumur Rasulu lawajado Allaha tawwaban raheema.” (Surat An-Nisa)
“…And if, when they had wronged themselves, they had but come to you and asked forgiveness of Allah, and asked forgiveness of the messenger, they would have found Allah Forgiving, Merciful.” (The Women, 4:64)
That when you are an oppressor to yourself, go to the Rasul ﷺ and ask My Forgiveness and then ask the forgiveness of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. And they are teaching us how to go into the presence of Prophet ﷺ to ask Allah’s (AJ) forgiveness by making durood shareef: “Allahuma salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ wa ‘ala aali Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. (O Allah! Send Peace and blessings upon our Master Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and upon the family of our Master Prophet Muhammad ﷺ).”
All Duroods and Salawats are Du’as (Supplications)
That is why all awliyaullah (saints), their du’as are salawats, “Tibbil qulubi wa dawayiha.” (Healing to our heart and its remedy).
“Allahumma Salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin Tibbil qulubi wa dawayiha. Wa ‘afiyatil abdaani wa shifayiha, Wa nuril absari wa dhiyayiha. Wa ‘ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Sallim.”
“O Allah! Send peace and blessings upon our master Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, The medicine of hearts and their cure, The health of bodies and their healing, The light of eyes and their illumination, and upon his holy family, and holy companions.”
Think of every salawat we know, they are all du’as. But they understood the adab (manners) and the way of the reality: who am I to go to Allah (AJ)? Allah (AJ) said, ‘Jaooka, go to Prophet ﷺ, and in the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, ask My Forgiveness.’
Go to Presence of Prophet ﷺ Through Duroods and Ask Allah’s (AJ) Forgiveness
So, how to have the presence of Prophet ﷺ? By making durood: “Allahuma salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ wa ‘ala aali Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.” As soon as you say that, the light of Prophet ﷺ has to be present.
Allahumma salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa ‘ala aali Sayyidina Muhammadin wa Sallim.
O Allah! Send Peace and blessings upon our Master Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and upon the Family of our Master Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
With that light of Prophet ﷺ to be present, at that time you ask Allah (AJ) “Allahuma maghfirlana”, (O Allah, forgive us). “Allahuma itkun minan Naar” (O Allah, save us from the hellfire). That for the sake of the one who is in my presence, the one of that light, forgive me, take away fire, take away difficulty. And the light of Prophet ﷺ dresses the soul with lights of Holy Qur’an because Allah (AJ) is happy. That when you came and asked for forgiveness and then you asked the forgiveness of Prophet ﷺ, you achieved the rida and satisfaction of Allah (AJ) and He dresses your soul with lights, dresses your soul with Holy Qur’an.
We pray that Allah (AJ), in this holy month of Ramadan, dress us from the lights of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, dress us from the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. All that dress and all that love to be the lights of Holy Qur’an that dress upon our soul, that purify our soul.
First We Taught the Qur’an, Then Created Insan
This is “Allamal Qur’an. Khalaqal insaan.” It is He who has taught the Qur’an. He has created man. This is a story from malakut (heavens); this is a reality from malakut, not from dunya (material world).
55:1-3 – “Ar Rahmaan. ‘Allamal Qur’an. Khalaqal Insaan.” (Surat Ar-Rahman)
“The Most Merciful. (1) It is He Who has taught the Qur’an. (2) He has created Man. (3)” (The Beneficent, 55: 1-3)
We are asking to achieve, ya Rabbi, what you gave to us in the malakut, “Allamal Qur’an”. You taught us that Holy Qur’an and then you created our insan and our human form and we forgot everything. We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us from their light.
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa wa bi sirri surat al-Fatiha.
