Fast All Year With All Your Senses to Become Mutaqeen
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi
A’udhu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the rejected one
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
The Journey of the Seeker Begins With Knowledge
The journey begins with knowledge. That when Allah (AJ) asking us to stop in a month, and the whole month to fast to reach a state of taqwa and consciousness. And to be conscious of our taste, our food, our condition, and to read Holy Qur’an. To pray, to praise, to recite. Then Allah (AJ) inspire within the second Surah, “Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem. Alif, Laam, Meem. Dhaalikal kitaabu laa rayba feeh, hudallil muttaqeen.”
2:1-2 – “Alif, Laam, Meem. (1) Dhaalikal kitaabu laa rayba feeh, hudal lil muttaqeen. (2)” (Surat Al-Baqarah)
“Alif, Laam, Meem. This is the Book that there is no doubt/crookedness in it, it’s a guidance for pious people who are conscious of Allah.” (The Cow, 2:1-2)
They just asked that in our office before we came out. And it shows you that this journey if you take a regular path, it’s a completely different understanding. You open Qur’an and begin to read. If you take a path with these awliyaullah (saints) whom Allah (AJ) has blessed, and dressed them from “Nabiyeen, Siddqeen, Shuhadai was Saliheen.” Allah (AJ) says, ‘I am with them, and this is the best of company.’ It means that they teach us the taqwa (consciousness) that they were taught is a taqwa from all five senses.
4:69 – “Wa man yuti’ Allaha war Rasola faolayeka ma’al ladheena an’ama Allahu ‘alayhim minan Nabiyeena, was Siddiqeena, wash Shuhadai, was Saliheena wa hasuna olayeka rafeeqan.” (Surat An-Nisa)
“And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger ﷺ are in the company of those on whom Allah has bestowed His Favours/Blessings – of the prophets, the sincere Truthful, the witnesses to the truth (who testify), and the Righteous, and excellent are those as companions.” (The Women, 4:69)
Alif, Laam, Meem is the Code and the Key to Our Journey
That as soon as they begin their journey, it’s encoded. So people say, ‘alif, laam, meem’; don’t worry about it, it’s just unconnected letters!‘ One who doesn’t know says, ‘Don’t worry about it, it’s just unconnected letters.’ But the one who knows said, ‘No, this is a key; this is right when our journey is going to begin.’ If you have the key, it’s like the train track, move this way, you’re on the path of alif, laam, meem.
And awliyaullah (saints) come and teach, ‘This secret of our whole existence, is in Izzatullah (Allah’s (AJ) Might and Magnificence).‘ When Allah (AJ) give us His alif and 24,000 meanings for every letter. That this Izzatullah is now going to give us a hint of this story of creation. And this journey where is it exactly going? And the Izzatullah comes and begins to show that, ‘My Might and my Majesty is a power for everything. And you’ll never reach to it, because I have no partner.’ You may know of it, you may try to witness some of it.
Allah (AJ) is Known Through the Soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
And that alif begins to teach us that, ‘What you should be seeking the reality of, is this laam. This soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ which is Allah’s (AJ) ancient tongue, “Lisanul Qadeem,” the ancient tongue that Allah (AJ) created to speak on His behalf.‘ Because Allah (AJ) wanted to be known, and is a hidden treasure wanting to be known.
Qala Rasulallahi ﷺ, Qala Allah (AJ): “Kuntu kanzan makhfiyya, fa ahbabtu an a’rafa, fa khalaqtu khalqan, fa ‘arraftahum bi fa ‘arafonee.”
[Hadith al Qudsi – Behar al Anwar, Al ‘Alama al Majlisi, Juz’ 84, Safha 199]
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, that Allah (AJ) said: “I was a hidden Treasure then I desired to be known, so I created a creation to which I made Myself known; then they knew Me.”
[Holy Hadith – Bihar al Anwar, by Al ‘Alama al Majlisi, Volume 84, Page 199]
So, Allah (AJ) wanting to be known creates the soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. And that reality was created only to make Allah (AJ) known. What type of purity, what type of truth, what type of reality! Because dunya (material world) people think from dunya, ‘Oh are you talking about this gentleman who came from the desert?’ And then they make it very humanistic. Say, ‘No, no, that was the physical body, and the noble physical body of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’ But before all of that, when Allah (AJ) wanted to be known in the world of light, which its beginning is completely unknown; when it began, they have no understanding of it.
Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is the Khalifa of Allah (AJ)
When Allah (AJ) wanted to be known He created the soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and made him the khalifa (deputy), made him the source of all angels, all heavens, all paradises, all rivers, all streams. All creation would be coming from this Noble Soul. So, then you’re wondering if there is any other deputy, if there is any other representative. When this soul (Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) was created only for the purpose of representing Allah (AJ), ‘I wanted to be known, it’s the only purpose I created.’
So Allah (AJ) is known through His creation; created beautiful flowers from the same Gul-e-Muhammadi ﷺ (flower of Muhammad ﷺ), Nurul Muhammadi ﷺ (Light of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ). Created immense and vast universes from this Nurul Muhammadi ﷺ. So what? So Allah (AJ) would be known, to be glorified. When you look at Allah’s (AJ) creation, you’re required to say, subhanAllah. That, ‘Ya Rabbi, Your Glory is beyond imagination, how You create all these things?’ And that is how Allah (AJ) wanted to be known. Allah (AJ) created immense creations, immense beauty, immense glorification, all from this lisan (tongue); all from this Reality.
Meem – Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is the Book of Allah (AJ) in Which Everything is Written
And then Allah (AJ) gives us a hint that, ‘Look, and unlock the reality of this meem.’ Fis sama (in heavens), ismuhu Sayyidina Mahmud ﷺ, and fil ard (on earth), Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. And to him ﷺ belong infinite names that Allah (AJ) has dressed. So then awliyaullah gave, these are like a sign on this superhighway, super speed highway like, beyond bullet train highway. ‘Which way you are going? We are going “Alif, Laam, Meem“, Ya Rabbi, we are going “Zalikal Kitab”, for verily this book, “Laraiba fih,” has no crookedness.
And Allah’s (AJ) highest technology, light encrypted technology. That Allah’s (AJ) kitab (book) in which everything was written from that laam. Every story that would be written, every creation that comes into existence; its sustenance, its purpose, its life, and its death is written in a book. In a book of light. If the only light Allah (AJ) created, is the light of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Oneness, wahdaniya, Allah’s (AJ) ahadiya, the creator; there is nothing like unto Allah (AJ). And He (AJ) created everything from one source, Ar-Ruhul Wahid (from one soul). ‘I created everything in truth,’ this Ruhul Wahid, is haq (truth). It’s hayyul, qayyum (ever living, self-subsisting).
39:6 – “Khalaqakum min nafsin wahidatin thumma ja’ala minha zawjaha…” (Surat Az-Zumar)
“He created you (all) from one soul: then created, of like nature, his mate…” (The Troops, 39:6)
The Soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is a Guidance for the Muttaqeen
Allah (AJ) gives to us, “Zalikal kitab laraiba fih,” that, ‘O you people who are going with awliyaullah, the book of Allah (AJ) is the soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’ There is nothing of anything to imagine of crookedness. Everything written and dressed upon this soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, is completely in truth. But it’s a guidance only for the muttaqeen (people of consciousness). “Huda lil muttaqeen.” Because they trained and they took a path in which to be trained by muttaqeen. And the muttaqeen trained them that, ‘Allah (AJ) wants all your senses under His Taqwa.’
2:2 – “Dhaalikal kitaabu laa rayba feeh, hudal lil muttaqeen.” (Surat Al-Baqarah)
“This is the Book that there is no doubt/crookedness in it, it’s a guidance for pious people who are conscious of Allah.” (The Cow, 2:2)
Awliya are Conscious of Their Hearing
So you ask other people, I don’t know what videos they make for taqwa, you get a sense of what people are talking, ‘Be conscious of God, fear God, fear God.’ No, no, no! It’s not like that only. Your ears have to be trained in Allah’s (AJ) way, that you don’t hear bad, you don’t listen to bad. You don’t let the devil to whisper into your ear. The ear is not the house of the shaitan to keep finding a company with you to whisper in. They cleaned that a long time ago. It’s like if he’s urinating in your ear when he talks to you. They don’t let the waste of shaitan enter into their ears. So they were trained on how to make their sami’, their hearing, to be muttaqeen. They clean it, clean it, clean it. And they only want to hear good, they only want to hear salawats (praisings). They only want to hear Holy Qur’an. They only want to be in the company of zikrullah (remembrance of Allah).
The Ears are a Passageway for Awliya’s Soul to Come Out and Experience a Haal
As a result, Allah (AJ) gave them a perfection in their hearing. So they inherit from Sayyidina YaSeen ﷺ, Yaqeen as-Sami’ (certainty of hearing). They perfect, the perfected hearing for all creation begins to perfect their hearing. And that has a direct connection into their soul, because their soul moves through their ear. When the ear is so clean, as soon as a certain salawat and love and Qur’an is recited, Allah (AJ) can pull the soul out of their body, gives the permission. And these are the people of haal (spiritual state). Why they have a haal? Because Allah (AJ) cleaned their ears. Because this is a passageway for the reality of the soul to come out. It hears an immense praising, feels an immense energy, and Allah (AJ) gives permission for these muttaqeen, their souls to come out and begin to experience what Allah (AJ) wants them to experience.
Muttaqeen Don’t Look at Haram, That Would Contaminate Their Eyes
Their eyes trained with muttaqeen that they kept nazar bar qadam (gaze upon the feet). They don’t look at people, they don’t look at what’s not allowed for them. They don’t look at haram (forbidden). They don’t look at anything that would contaminate their eyes. And then from their eyes would contaminate their heart and bring a darkness on the heart.
This is why pornographies and every type of evilness is being propagated by shaitan. Shaitan knows how to close these points [Shaykh refers to the 7 holy openings of face]. If you look down in life, clean and purify your vision, Allah (AJ) begins to open the vision of your heart. Because the physical eyes were cleaned, they didn’t contaminate the heart and Allah (AJ), ‘You were trained then to look down, meditate, contemplate, close these eyes.‘ That, ‘What I’m looking for is not in my physical eyes.’
For Muttaqeen, Everyday is Ramadan and They Abstain From the Forbidden
Ramadan is every day for the muttaqeen. Ramadan for normal people is just this one month. They’re going to try to abstain; they probably curse and yell, and scream all day long at people because they are hungry and angry. These are not muttaqeen. Every day is Ramadan for them (muttaqeen); everyday they are abstaining. Every day they are abstaining on all these senses; they abstain from their ears. They abstain from their eyes, they purified their vision to the best that they can in the vicinity and the control where they are.
The more harmful around you, the more reward from Allah (AJ). If Allah (AJ) wanted it to be easy, he would’ve sent all the muttaqeen into the desert. He’d (AJ) say, ‘Go sit out there where there is nobody to look at; oh, you going to raise to such a high station, easy.’ That wasn’t about it! It was to be around every type of forbidden and keep your eye on your feet. ‘Don’t look, don’t engage in it; to the best of your ability control yourself from it.‘ Allah (AJ) is going to give you immense reward.
In the Last Days, Rewards are Immense as the Evilness is Intensified
And that’s why in the last days, the more the badness, the more quicker the rewards are coming for the believers. Because Allah (AJ) knows the difficulty. This is being graded on a scale. Allah (AJ) says, ‘I know I intensified everything around you. Every type of wicked song, there is not a single song that has a nice word in it.’ You abstain yourself from that, Allah (AJ) has an immense reward coming for you. And even ask the children just listen to something you can’t even understand the language. If you have to listen to something, ‘dun, dun, dun, dun’, at least put a song you don’t have the language so you don’t have to hear these bad words continuously going into your heart.
Awliya Have Purified Their Breath
So they purified their hearing, purified their eyes, trained on how to purify their breath, the importance of a breath. They didn’t get around carcinogenic elements and smoke and contaminants. Because they knew that every breath coming in was pure for them, was an energy for them, was a means in which to see their Lord. The purer the breath, the energy of the breath that comes in, gives them more yaqeen (certainty), more ability for their heart to one day open and see what Allah (AJ) wants them to see.
Saints are Subtle and Feel the Energies, They’re Not Numb
Their sense of touch was to be purified and perfected so that they’re subtle in their touch. They are not numb to the world. They’re subtle in their energy training; immediately they can feel something is not right, someone walked into a room with a lot of heebie-jeebies on them and they become attacked, and they feel it.
Most people are numb, they walk with all sorts of demons around them, shayateen (devils) on top of them, crabs, and lobsters, and snakes, and rats and roaches all over them from the unseen world. They are just walking happily, because they are numb. It’s like they are behind an iron curtain, they feel nothing because their heart is dead. But when you become subtle in your senses of touch you feel everything. Because you trained your energy to be sensitive to everything you feel good and you feel bad right away when things are bad. So the sense of the muttaqeen, it’s hyper-alert.
Awliya Taste the Realities, Allah (AJ) Has Opened Their Zawq
And their sense of taste. Means that when Allah (AJ) opened all their senses to be sincere, the last He (AJ) opens for them is the sense of taste, the zawq (taste), that they taste the reality. Whatever is being accomplished in the zikr (remembrance), they’re tasting it. They’re hearing it, they’re seeing it, they feel it so much that they can taste it. You don’t have to tell them when the month opened, they tasted the tajalli (manifestation). Not like crazy people who don’t even accept a computer and scientific proof and verification. They’re not a people from dunya (material world), they taste the tajalli that Allah (AJ) is sending. They sense it because they’re muttaqeen, hyper-alert like a radar medical machine. That their ears are sensing the tajalli and the change. Their spiritual vision is sensing a tajalli and change. The breath and the energy that they’re breathing, they sense a spiritual change.
Muttaqeen Inherited From the Tongue of Truth and Lisan as-Siddiq
As a result of all of those, Allah (AJ) changes their tongue and they inherit from this grand lisan. From this Alif, Laam, Meem, they are inheritors of that laam. So Allah (AJ) dressing them and saying, ‘Every time anyone says alif, laam, meem, it dresses you because you are an inheritor of that reality.’ They dress and they inherit form this Lisanul Haq (Tongue of Truth). They inherited the tongue of truth from Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, which came down to the companion as Lisan as-Siddiq al ‘Aliya. In Surah 19, “Siddiq Al-‘Aliya,” the most high tongue of truth.
19:50 – ” Wa wahabna lahum min rahmatina wa ja’alna lahum lisana Sidqin ‘Aliya.” (Surat Maryam)
“And We bestowed of Our Mercy on them, and We granted them lofty honour from/on the tongue of truth.” (Maryam, 19:50)
And Allah (AJ) described, ‘Whom we granted wisdom, has been granted a great reward.’ The greatest gift that Allah (AJ) can give to his servant is wisdom on this tongue of truth and this tongue most-high. This is Allah’s (AJ) gift to whom He loves. Not money, not possessions, not anything but, ‘I granted you wisdom, “ilm e Laduni wa hikmati bis Saliheen“ (Divinely Knowledge and Wisdom of the Righteous).’ And that they inherit from this tongue of truthfulness, this tongue-most high.
2:269 – “Yu’til Hikmata mai yasha o; wa mai yutal Hikmata faqad otiya khairan kaseeraa; wa maa yazzakkaru illaa ulul albaab.” (Surat Al-Baqarah)
“He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given abundant goodness. And none will remember except people of the Door/People of understanding.” (The Cow, 2:269)
If the Tongue is Bad, What’s in the Heart is Far Worse
And this is their journey and anyone who accompanies these muttaqeen, they’re training them in all of the meditation, muraqabah (spiritual connection), tafakkur (contemplation), whatever you want to call it. They’re training them how to hear, ‘Clean your hearing.’ How to see, ‘Clean your seeing.’ How to breathe and perfect your breath. How to speak and abstain, ‘Take the fire off your tongue so Allah (AJ) can send nur (light) upon the tongue.’
He (AJ) says, ‘If they open and yell and scream, and speak bad from their tongue, imagine what’s in their heart.’ Allah (AJ) describes in Qur’an, ‘If what came from their mouth is displeasing to you, what’s in their heart is far worse.’ The mouth is symbol of a heart. If a mouth is bad, the heart is worse.
3:118 – “…wad doo ma ‘anittum qad badatial baghdao min afwahihim wa ma tukhfee Sudooruhum Akbaru, qad bayyana lakumul Ayaati, in kunum ta’qiloon.” (Surat Ali-Imran)
“…Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their hearts conceal is far worse. We have made plain to you the signs, if you have wisdom.” (Family of Imran, 3:118)
If the Tongue Speaks of Haqqaiq, Love of Prophet ﷺ is Intense in Their Heart
But if the mouth is spewing haqqaiqs (realities) and love for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, then Allah (AJ) describing, ‘Then the heart is much more intense. And you have no idea what’s in that heart.’ We pray that Allah (AJ) grant us the realities in Ramadan to reach towards these realities, and we reach by love, not by anything else. If that which you love, you accompany it, and you accompany with an open heart and love, they begin to reflect that reality upon the servants of Allah (AJ).
Subhana rabbika rabbal ‘izzati ‘amma yasifoon, wa salaamun ‘alal mursaleen, walhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Bi hurmati Muhammad al-Mustafa wa bi siri Surat al-Fatiha.
