Understanding The Divine Government and Lordship
What is Rabbaniyoon or Lordship?
From the Realities of Mawlana (Q) as taught by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi.
A’uzu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the rejected one
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
3:79 – “Ma kana libasharin an yutiyaHu Allahul Kitaba wal Hukma wan Nubuwwata, Thumma yaqoola linNasi kono ‘Ibadan li min doni Allahi, wa lakin kono Rabbaniyeena bima kuntum tu’allimonal kitaba wa bima kuntum tadrusoon.” (Surat Ali-Imran)
“It is not (possible) that a man (prophet), to whom is given the Holy Book, and Authority/Command over the Dominion [of earth and heavens], and the Prophethood – should say to people: “Be servants to me rather than Allah”: on the contrary (He would say): “Be Lordly Souls/faithful servants, because you have taught the Book and you have studied it earnestly.” (Family of Imran, 3:79)
Who Knows Himself, Will Know his Lord
Rabb is a Title of Nobility and Honor, Understanding The Divine Government. Our Beloved Messenger stated, “Who Knows himself will Know his Lord/Rabb.” It is necessary to understand Lordship before one may call himself Abdullah, a servant of Allah.
Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ: “Man ‘arafa nafsahu faqad ‘arafa Rabbahu”
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “Who knows himself, knows his Lord.”
Secret in Alif Lam Raa
These are the symbols (or Verses) of the Wise Book. {Alif -Divine Essence , to Lam-Lahut-Existence & Light , Ra- Sifat Al-Rabb – Lordship or Divine Governance of the Universe.}
12:1 – “Alif-Laaam-Raa; tilka Aayaatul Kitaabil Mubeen.” (Surat Yusuf)
“Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the clear Book.” (Joseph, 12:1)
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
When the process of Self-realization starts, we will find that we are servants of many things before anyone can claim to be a servant of Allah. If not, we would all been Saints.
First Level is Servant-hood to Shaytan/Egoism
People following their own lusts and desires Allah asks, “Have you seen those who make their Desires their LORD?”
45:23 – “Afara ayta manit takhadha ilaha hu hawahu wa adallahu Allahu ‘ala ‘Ilmin wa khatama ‘ala sam’ihi wa qalbihi, wa ja’ala ‘ala basarihi ghishawatan faman yahdeehi min ba’di Allahi, afala tadhakkaron.” (Surat Al-Jathiyah)
“Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire? And Allah has sent him astray due to knowing (him as such) and has sealed his hearing and his heart and put veil on his vision. So then who will guide him after Allah (has withdrawn Guidance)? Then will you not remember/mention?” (The Crouching, 45:23)
Drinking, smoking, drugs, fornication, anger and many other vices. These are all Lords over you. That is why many people cannot stop committing evil. That wickedness is very powerful and has a tremendous hold over people. That is why Sayyidina Muhammad (S) said, “One hour of Meditation is better than 70 years of worship ”
Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ: “Tafakkur saa’atin khairun min ‘ibadati sab’yeen sanatan.”
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “One hour of contemplation is more valuable than seventy years of worship.
Allah (AJ) Shows that Rabb Means Those in Authority
In that level of self-realization, we will find that before we can serve Allah we must not be a slave to Shaytan. In the Holy Quran, Yusuf (as) said: “Allah forbid! Truly (thy husband) is my lord” he made my stay agreeable! Truly no good come to those who do wrong!” The Prophet of Allah is showing us that Lord are those in authority and must be respected!
12:23 – “Wa raawadat hul latee huwa fee baitihaa ‘an nafsihee, wa ghallaqatil abwaaba, wa qaalat haita lak; qaala ma’aazal laahi, inna hu Rabbi ahsana maswaay; inna hu laa yuflihoz zaalimoon.” (Surat Yusuf)
“And she (Zulaikha), in whose house he was, sought to seduce him. She closed the doors and said, “Now, Come, you.” He said, “Allah forbid!/[I seek] refuge in Allah. Indeed, he (your husband) is my Master, who has made my stay agreeable/treated me well. Indeed, no good/success come to the wrongdoers/oppressors.” (Joseph, 12:23)
The Degrees of Lordship Over You
In Surah Yusuf [Allah (AJ) says] “the (human) ego is certainly prone to evil [Nafs al ammara], unless my Lord does bestow His Mercy.
12:53 – “ Wa maa ubarri’u nafsee; innan nafsa la ammaaratum bissooo’i illaa maa rahima Rabbi; inna Rabbi Ghafoorur Raheem” (Surat Yusuf)
“ And I do not acquit/absolve myself (of blame). Indeed, the ego (Nafsal Ammara) is a prone to/persistent enjoiner of evil, except those upon whom my Lord (master) has bestowed mercy. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.” (Joseph, 12:53)
4 Enemies of Creation:
- Shaytan, Evilness
- Nafs, or Egoism
- Hawa, Excessive Desires or Sensual Pleasures Dunya,
- Dunya or Excessive Materialism
Once Evilness is Destroyed, Make Your Way to Haqq
Holy Quran in Surat Asr 103:3 says “Illal lazeena aamano wa ‘amilos saalihaati, wa tawasaw bil haqqi wa tawasaw bis Sabr.” “Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience. ”
103:3 – “Illal ladheena aamano wa ‘amilos saalihaati, wa tawasaw bil haqqi wa tawasaw bis Sabr. (3)” (Surat Al-‘Asr)
“Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience. (3)” (The Declining Day, 103:1-3)
Then, when evilness is destroyed, Allah (AJ) asks us to make our way the way of Haqq and truthfulness. Allah (AJ) is the treasure we are seeking. We will not arrive without tremendous trials of Faith. Islam is Accepting , the station of Imaan and faith in much higher.
The Way of the Seeker is Obedience to Ulul Amr
The way of the seeker then obedience to the Ulul Amr. Once you are accepting Truthfulness as your way ” Tariqat” . You will be tested in Family, wealth and your life as He tested His beloved Prophets.. Once you are accepting Truthfulness, the way of the seeker Obedience to the Ulul Amri Minkum. Those in Authority over you must be respected Ulu Amri Minkum:
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat an-Nisa)
“…Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you…” (The Women, 4:59)
When the process of Self-realization starts, we will find that we are servants of many things before anyone can claim to be a servant of Allah. If not, we would all been Saints
In Holy Quran, Yusuf (as) Said: “Mention Me Your Rabb (Master)”
As stated in the Holy Quran in Surat Yusuf 12:42, “He (Prophet Yusuf (as)) said (to the freed prisoner): “Mention me to your lord. But Satan made the prisoner to forget to mention Prophet Yusuf to his lord, So Prophet Yusuf stayed in prison longer.”
12:42 – “Wa qaala lillazee zanna anna hu najim minhumaz kurnee ‘inda rabbika, fa ansaahush shaitaanu zikra rabbihee falabisa fis sijni bid’a sineen.” (Surat Yusuf)
“And he said to the one whom he knew would go free, “Mention me before your master.” But Satan made him forget the mention [to] his master, and (Yusuf (Joseph)) remained in prison for some (more) years.” (Joseph, 12:42)
We Must Obey The Authority from the Goverment to the Spiritual Leaders
To be law abiding, obey your Leaders and elected officials or kings over you. Obey Local Governments, Mayors, Council people, Police Law enforcement. Submit, realize all things come from Allah. You cannot say this is not a Muslim country or it is a Muslim country. People of Haqq obey all Laws of any land in which they live in. This is Submission to the will of Allah and His Beloved Messenger. Once the Authority / Ulul Amr of Dunya are Respected then, The Heavens will guide to Those in Spiritual Authority.
Holy Quran says, “There is no god but He: That is the witness of Allah, His angels, and those endued with knowledge, standing firm on justice.”
3:18 – “Shahidallahu annahu la ilaha illa Hu wal mala’ikatu wa ulul ‘ilmi qaaiman bil qist…” (Surat Al-Imran)
“Allah bears witness that there is no god but He, and the angels and men of knowledge, upholding justice; …” (Family of Imran, 3:18)
Who Are the Rabbaniyon?
If we are successful in understanding their Lordship over us and Obedient, (then it’s mentioned in )Hadith qudsi via Abu Hurayra, “My slave does not draw near Me with anything I love more than what I have made obligatory for him. My servant continues to draw near me with super obligatory actions until I love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his sight by which he sees, his hands with which he strikes, and his feet with which he walks. He will become Rabanniya and say be and it will be ” (Sahih al-Bukhari)
‘An Abi Hurairah (ra) qala, Qala Rasulullahi ﷺ : InnAllaha ta’ala qala: “ …, wa la yazaalu ‘Abdi yataqarrabu ilayya bin nawafile hatta ahebahu, fa idha ahbabtuhu kunta Sam’ahul ladhi yasma’u behi, wa Basarahul ladhi yubsiru behi, wa Yadahul lati yabTeshu beha, wa Rejlahul lati yamshi beha, wa la in sa alani la a’Teyannahu, …”
[Hadith Qudsi, Sahih al Bukhari, Raqam: 6502)
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (ra) that: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that: Allah the Almighty said: “…My servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary acts of worship so that I shall love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him…” [Holy Hadith, Authentic by al-Bukhari, # 6502]
He Who Obeys the Messenger, Obeys Allah
“Man yuti’r Rasula faqad ata’a Allaha” (He who obeys the Messenger [Muhammad (pbuh), he has indeed obeyed Allah.)
4:80 – “Man yuti’r Rasula faqad ata’a Allaha, wa man tawalla fama arsalnaka ‘alayhim hafeezha.” (Surat An-Nisa)
“He who obeys the Messenger [Muhammad (pbuh), he has indeed obeyed Allah ; but he who turns away – We have not sent you [O Muhammad (pbuh)] over them as a guardian/to watch over them.” (The Women, 4:80)
Atiu Rasul, that is to obey Rasul. He is Malik al-Hayat { King of Life} Malik al-Dunya { King of the Worlds}. He Is Eternally Muhammad RasulAllah. He is Rabb, Lord over you. He is Rahmatan lil Alameen, Mercy to all creation. He is Miftah Rahmah, He is Rasul Raheem, He is Sayedena Siratal Mustaqeem. He is Awwal Khalq ilah, His holy soul is the first of all creation, the light of which all things are borne. He is the Akhir, last of Messengers. He is the Perfection of Human Form. Perfection of the Hidden the Secret of Light and Souls and Perfection of Physicality and Form. Awwal, Akhir, Batin and Zahir- First, Last Hidden and Manifest perfection.
‘An Abi Hurairah (ra), anna Nabiyallahi ﷺ qala: “Kuntu awwalan nabiyeena fil khalqi, wa aakherahum fil ba’thi.”
“Narrated by Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Prophet (pbuh) said:” I am the first of the prophets in creation and the last prophet in resurrection.”
Be Conscious of Your Rab and Allah (AJ)
Holy Quran (4:1) says, “O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single person/soul, created, of like nature, His mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women.”
4:1 – “Yaa aiyuhan naasut taqoo Rabbakumul lazee khalaqakum min nafsinw waahidatinw, wa khalaqa minhaa zawjahaa, wa bas sa minhumaa rijaalan kaseeranw wa nisaaa’aa; wattaqullaah allazee tasaaa ‘aloona bihee wal arhaam; innal laaha kaana ‘alaikum Raqeeba.” Surat Nisa)
“O mankind, be conscious of your Lord/master, who created you from one soul, and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And be conscious of Allah , through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.” (The Women, 4:1)
